The recipe for an acended back piece is 1850 fractal relics(500 for gift of acension 1350 for backpiece of your choice) 1 vial of condensed mist essence and 40 crystals/240? Philophoser stones. To infuse it, its 1 blob of mist essence, 250 ectos, your acended back piece and another gift of acension.
My faceroll dungeon gear, not much useful outside of that tho. Fully buffed with food & dis banner (no strength banner) 105% base crit damage and 47% crit chance unbuffed. Fury isn’t activated for the screen shot and I’m using 6 scholar runes (8% crit damage 165 power and 10% damage above 90% health).

60 chests and I’ve gotten 5 sword skins, a staff skin and a greatsword skin from the chests. Guess I’ve been getting lucky ;d
I’ve gotten a staff skin and 3 sword skins from chests so far, and I ran the instance about 16-17 times. It’s all about luck.
The fear on nightmare runes has a base 1 second fear, which is then increased by master of terror and the runes condition duration for another 60% duration. Therefore, it has a 1 second fear with a 60% chance to tick twice.
Avoid condition specs if you know someone on your team is already running it. Power/crit isn’t the best choice as any other class will out dps you in pve and you will just be putting burden on your team as Ascii mentioned. PTV oriented builds are very nice for fractals, especially when running signet of undeath and life transfer.
Runes of the Undead as a bleed stacking/duration build and Runes of Nightmare as a terror burst spec.
Conditionmancers are very strong counters to the current meta elementalists if played right, and our power well builds melt mesmers (Can be hard to keep them in one spot tho). Your welcome
While totally true, I find there’s a small subpopulation of the D/D Elementalists that can beat condition necromancers. Maybe it’s just a nuance thing on my part, but with all their cleansing they eventually outpace my condition damage with their regular combos.
Of course, if that said elementalist/mesmer is a better player than the said necro, then of course that said necro will most likely die. I run into those well played elementalists as well when running tournies with my guild. Although they are out there, they are also rather rare and uncommon with the high skill cap involved with the class.

Yea pretty much that, but the only problem is you cant be both at the same time.
Indeed, we cannot fulfill both roles at the same time which can hurt us quite a bit. Although it is very much possible for a conditionmancer to take out a mesmer, and a powermancer to take out an elementalist. Yes, you must be much more skilled than the said class, but managing to roflstomp that mesmer/ele after that well earned down leaves you with a evil smirk on your face
Glad to see some necros in the community are still willing to make the pvp oriented videos Keep what your doing up! The necro community appreciates what your doing, as do I.
No build is op, and every one takes time to adjust and get decent results with. This is a class that is deadly when supporting team fights, not to have a solo insta-gib 10 second deathmatch.
Exactly what kazuno stated. Terror works as intended and serves solely as a burst tool for conditionmancers. Previous threads also state that terror is only a few hundred extra dps per second, so your better off traiting for bleed duration/other traits if you want sustained damage over burst.
I’m okay with my plague form stomping tbh. You can spam blind WHILE channeling the stomp… pretty much “invunerable” if you think about it… Yes you can still take range dps, but you’ll have about 3-5k toughness and 30k + health(assuming you plagued while over half health). Knowing anet it will probably be nerfed someday soon, but I shall enjoy the trollstomping while it lasts

The number 3 downed skill is scaled with power. If your a conditionmancer, tough luck I suppose. Number one is decent in regards with the life steal, as it really helps push you up to full life while your teammate is reviving you when normally you would of been stomped playing another class. Number 2 really needs to be aoe OR have a shorter casting time. It is too unreliable for a 1-2 second single target fear.
I think you’d have better luck with counters by playing the class or hearing them from a necro first hand(such as myself). As the previous posters stated, managing to hit etheral renewal gimps our dps completely and leaves us spamming 70-120 autoattacks with sceptre. Any smart necro will save deathshrouds fear for your heal, so make sure you have stability up while activating it. But if you plan on popping stability, make sure they’ve already popped their corrupt boon or you’ll be faceplanting the ground very soon. Of course, this only applies to conditionmancers.
One thing you want to be wary of is the weapons the necro is running. Our weapons are dead giveaways of our builds as they only fit a number of builds each. If you see a dagger in the necros LEFT HAND, you automatically know its a conditionmancer who plans on ravaging your corpse into a jagged horror :p
Incase you can’t be bothered to read this all, make sure you ALWAYS avoid the corrupt boon. Most eles will spam boons once switching into earth, which leaves us conditionmancers with an evil smirk on our faces. Hope this helps in someway, as i have betrayed plenty of my fellow necromancers from replying to this Good luck, and hope to see ya in game… Muahaha.

There are a few viable builds to choose from, depending on your weapons of choice. To name a few: Terror conditionmancer, bleed stacking conditionmancer, d/w well bursting, ptv axe/focus or warhorn, and axe minion master(yes this is viable now). If you can give us an idea of your playstyle of choice, me or someone else would love to help ya throw a build together
~Melancholy Death
LOL at people claiming this is due to the “blind” effect. I didn’t know blind automatically makes all enemies on your screen go stealth mode? If this is the case, let’s replace blind with a solid black screen that doesn’t go away until you hit someone. But seriously, people need to L2READ.
Surprisingly I’ve had this happen to me by a warrior, guardian AND elementalist in spvp today. No shadow refugee’s or stealth walls from thieves were up, as it is visually obvious if there was. They were popping in and out, making it almost impossible to land burst on them. Really hope Anet looks into this, as it is becoming quite a nusense.
I have only experienced this while running a full glass build. Being at 16k base health means it will activate at 3500-4000 hp typically, which many orr bosses and mobs can hit on someone with 971 toughness. Are you running the same type of setup as me? If so, mix in some valk gear for the extra vitality.
I have my necro and a warrior geared out in full exotic berserker sets. From my personal experience, my necro gets more kills AND lives longer than my warrior. I run a rifle/greatsword or sword&horn build as a warrior, and a full blown crit&wellmancer build as a necro. Yes, my warrior will one shot the occasional player in zergs(highest killshot was 32k on an underleveled player),but it is much more efficent to melt a groups faces off with groundtargeted wells Again, only my personal experience
He’s gotten tons of loot bags, which you clearly are stating we don’t get. If your not doing enough damage with your sceptre auto attack as a conditionancer, well that’s your fault 900+ hours played as a necro, 90% of that is in pvp. I’ve never had a problem getting mass lootbags, so maybe your just unlucky? Also, lootbags are not an 100% garenteed drop; even if you deal 100% of the damage to the player. Getting lootbags and getting badges from those lootbags are two different things. So OP, which are you having a problem with exactly? You say you do not get drops while the title of the thread is about badge rate drops.
If your not getting loot bags in wvw with staff as a necro, your doing it wrong :/
It definitely has to do with the service Anet uses to transact these payments, as the prepaids were Visa while the credit card was Master Card. As Ashe said, the cards will work perfectly while buying anything else online. Hope Anet fixes this soon.
I’m getting this exact same issue, and it’s not just for 1 card. I’ve tried 2 different Prepaids, and a credit card. All the information was put in correctly, as I tried each card at least 4-5 times each. I bought 25$ worth in gems with the credit card 3 days ago and it worked fine, so please don’t tell me I capped the maximum amount of gems I can buy just off 25$?
Went to test a full zerker well/staff build last night(all green armour and jewerly) Our server dedicated to defending a certain keep in the enemy border lands and I managed to rake in 47 badges in the course of 1 hour. Got so many loot bags, I couldn’t pick anything up 1/3rd into the battle.
I usually get 10-20 per hour on average. Personally I run with full power/vit/tough gear (rare) and a balance between knights and soldier jewerly. 22% crit chance 0 crit power. Traits are 30/0/20/20/0. How big was your group? Your ultilities? Build? I can’t really give you more than my personal experience without more details.
The Charr story line for the blood legion “Time for an promotion” is also bugged as of the moment. After killing the giant devourer, it has the cut scene of the blood legion gathering around you, but then presume to stand still after the cut scene. Trying to talk to anyone would result in a basic response such as “report” or “what do you need”. After this point, your basically forced to log out and in to get out of the quest line. I’ve tried it multiple times to see if it was maybe just a glitch, but it would bug out at the same part every time.
And before you assume I am attacking you and you decide to sum up my post to be what it is not again, I shall do it for you.
Yes there are bugs and problems. Heck, I am not even aware of most of them as we speak. I agree with you and all the other people who have concern about them. I was pointing out that when we spend time complaining about them after Anet already knows of the issues, it just takes away from our gaming experience. Personally, I will continue to have fun experimenting with a bunch of builds I come up with on the top of my head while they deal with these problems. So let’s say you make an obvious mistake at work while your co-workers witnesses it. As you continue on your way to fix it, you are constantly nagged at and overwhelmed by every single person repeating what you did wrong over and over again, even as you attempt to fix it. Just think about it through the eyes of Anet, as it can get pretty annoying. In one of your previous threads you mentioned a good point about the communication between players and Anet. I agree they should update us on how they are going about fixing it, and even asking us for our opinions or suggestions. But we need to show the same amount of cooperation/communication as them instead of repeating what is wrong constantly. I am aware there are problems with the class, but let’s try to get past them. Hope that clears up what I was trying to say
So you agree that you take this game much more serious than I, as I play to have a good time. If your into the e-sport, this game really isn’t for you. Even thinking this game has a competitive level when it lacks a leader board of any kind to show for player/team skill in pvp is simply invalid. In my post, I stated bugs hardly have an impact on player skill or lack of enjoyment. If it is bugged, don’t use it. Bringing up the idea of other limitations (which i agree upon) just steers away from what point I was trying to make. Yes there are problems with the class, but why do you let it bring yourself down instead of finding ways around them and enjoying yourself? Instead of being ungrateful of what you do not have, how about being grateful of what little you do? And saying I was dismissing the fact that there are problems with the class is wrong, as I only stated that people dismiss the fact that player skill has a lot more to do with your performance than a bug does. No, I am not the best nelly out there, but I can still enjoy myself. Anet will deal with these issues in time, but while they remain, try to enjoy yourself a bit. Funny thing about you telling me that time will show me how much is wrong with the class, is that I can guarantee you that they will be long-gone before I even care about the problems haha. To put it simply, find a way to play as a necro without the need to complain over these bugs and limitations, or roll another class in the mean time. It’s rather simple
So the plague signet and a few trait skills are bugged. Your acting like there are only a few viable builds that rely solely on those defective things. Funny thing about every single person who complains about the necro is that NOT ONE mentions themselves contributing to their poor performance. Sure, I can blame a bug every time I die too, but I guess that is what separates myself from the elitests coming here from WoW and other mmorpgs. The reality is, someone is going to kill you once in a while, it’d be luck or skill. I’m sure every time you die by a thieve, you say to yourself “kids so bad spams #2 key omg” instead of reflecting on what you did wrong/could of done. Truth is, there are decent thieves out there who don’t solely rely on spamming a key. Ignorance at best.
And the point of my screenshot is that these “bugs” don’t affect how I play, nor do they deteriorate the fun I have while playing. And if you go on saying spvp doesn’t matter, and that only tpvp shows skill, you must obviously be ignorant to the fact that most tpvp players pick up players and form random teams and don’t use teamspeak/mumble. While you and others are QQ’ing on the forums about issues that will get fixed in time, I’ll be having a good time with a game that has already made the money I spent on it worth it. I can only hope this silly ranting may stop soon so the forums can be filled with interesting/constructive threads.
~Cheers, Melancholy Death
I agree with jaydee, it would be nice to try your build out for ourselves haha. Mind linking us to a build page or doing what I did? Should be fun experimenting with another build
Yeah, my necro is sooooo kitten bad… wish i could kill people with it. OHWAIT!
Seriously tho, people need to stop complaining about a class that can do better than most dps classes without even sacrificing that much survivability for damage. Maybe the class isn’t for you? Have you even tried another class? Even to get used to what you’ll be likely up against? Like someone said, you QQ’rs are coming on to these forums complaining about a broken class without even showing how broken it is. Until you complainers post screenshots or share your current build so that we may give advice to help you be more efficient, you are what is broken. Cheers.

I never said it WAS a bunker build, I stated it works just as well at holding points as one. And I have my doubts about tpvp as well, and instead of bashing my attempt to help a fellow necro out, how about you go test my build out in tpvp? It would be greatly appreciated. Here’s another screenshot of a game I decided to go offensive instead of defensive. Cheers.
~Melancholy Death
I’m glad your enjoying the build as much as I am hokies Cheers.
~Melancholy Death
The cooldowns can seem a tad bit long at times, but the 20% decrease on it helps a lot. And that is why I run a staff with the build, as the marks cd are rather fast while traited. I’ve tried a bunch of different builds, but they can’t live up to the excitement this one gives me haha. Best of luck on finding your bunker build, and hopefully this one works for you.
~Melancholy Death
Well I’m off to bed! I’ll respond to this thread tomorrow morning, but here are a few more screenshots. Notice how I have a high average score on defended points (which backs up my “bunker build” idea)
I can provide more screenshots of this build at the request of the OP
I’ve been running a successful point control build that involves keeping aoe covering the capture point. It works exceptionally well in spvp, but i have yet to try it in tpvp. The build has been loads of fun, and the build really shines when multiple enemies try to take a point (especially when they are distracted by other players) so i guess you can call it a “bunker build”.
The build goes something like this:
Traits- 0, 20, 10, 30, 10
Curses: III – Chilling darkness (confusion on blind) , IX – Focused Rituals (Ground targeted Wells)
Death Magic: V – Staff Mastery (20% cooldown on staff skills)
Blood Magic: II – Bloodthirst (50% more health on siphon), VIII – Ritual Mastery (20% faster cooldown on wells), XII – Vampiric Rituals (Wells siphon health on every pulse)
Soul reaping: II – Vital Persistence (Death shroud drains 25% slower)
Main hand : Staff (For 4 aoe spells)
Main hand : Dagger (can be swapped by personal preference)
Off hand : Dagger (or focus)
Utility Skills :
Well of Corruption – Deals some nice damage while ripping all boons off your unfortunate target (A guardians worst nightmare)
Well of Suffering – Huge damage output if your opponent(s) are silly enough to try to tank it out
Well of Darkness – Blinds and Chills ( while traited) every second, which can easily save yourself/change the tide of battle
Lich Form – Huge damage output with nice aoe attack skills. Makes those glass cannons shatter into pieces
Runes and Sigils
Runes – Scholar runes for the crit damage + power (your crit chance will already be at 44)
Sigils – Staff: Sigil of Force (extra dps output which i believe stacks with marks)
Main hand weapon: Sigil of Force
Off hand : Sigil of Accuracy
(Change the sigils to whichever you prefer)
Berserker Amulet for the high power + crit damage
This might seem like a power build, but it isn’t about dropping your opponent fast; it is all about controlling key points in battle (you can easily hold down mid for a decent amount of time by yourself).
Hope this build strikes your interest/solves your bunker problem Here’s a screenshot of my last game tonight, cheers.

Hi. Today I finally managed to complete Frostgorge Sound and the rest of the WvWvW areas, but it turns out I have missed ONE point of interest (716/717). At first, I thought maybe I looked over an area, so I quickly waypointed to each and every town/area there is (60 silver down the drain, but that’s not the point). Weirdly enough, each and every one was 100% cleared, so I went to double check each borderlands even tho I completed every one of them in the past 24 hours. Once again, they were each cleared, and it leaves me dumbfounded of where the last poi could possibly be. I can’t say if this is a bug or not, but it very well does seem like one after checking all the areas over. Here’s a screenshot of my world completion map (note, on the character select page it states that it is 100%, not 99%).
