Well, just hear me out bro. The gold per vote is good! If you don’t want to pay it, then you only vote the allotted amount of builds! If you do, ask for a gold or don’t vote! Really, it isn’t a whole lot, but the fact that you don’t want to pay that and are against it actually kind of shows the benefit of having this on there! If not one gold then maybe everytime you vote, the cost doubles, starting at 5 silver or however many they want depending on how many participants there are! Just hear me out, ORB! Don’t just shrug it off!

You haven’t step in ranger forum since the last patch? You don’t know what happened to spirit rangers? This build became popular, other players whined and rangers got smacked in the face with the nerf hammer.

In short: you’ll learn that it’s better to keep our mouth shut on the forums or expect more nerfs to our class from Anet.

BotM is a super fun idea and I am totally on board no question but maybe this guy is right… Should we make a private website that only known members of the guild can log into if anybody can and will make the website? Or perhaps make a facebook group with our character names OR real Facebook’s, what ever the individual prefers. Probably make character name ones, but yeah. If we don’t mind doing that, then we should! It would not let arena net in on our super awesome 1337 builds and it would also make the guild a more tightnit bunch, I’m sure of it.

I have an idea for rewards/voting. I JUST THOUGHT OF THIS, so don’t get aggressive anybody, feel free to ditch or alter my suggestion. Okay, so… To ensure a nice reward and retain the spirit of the contest, I say, to vote for a build, you must pay 1 gold EVERYTIME. Or maybe the first 1 to 3 is free then 1 gold each per vote. This is for a nice juicy reward, without it costing too much for anybody, and also, people won’t be as prone to up or down vote a build because of bias. People will vote for the ones they want to win, then stop, or, not and spice up the pile. Anyone found to be funding the cost to vote for another and is in the contest will be disqualified and kicked from the guild lol. That is all, feel free to pitch in.

I have now tried blackwater for a good bit of time and a very limited amount with a shatter variant. I am incredibly satisfied with my new mesmer. Mesmer is so powerful! I would probably be upset if it were my first max level, however I am quite a seasoned player, so Mesmer has done NOTHING but impress me. Looking forward to more experiences with the mesmer community. Good night guys!

Dude… If you will be using lots of interrupt then I think that this trait is worth taking to be honest. I mean, even 2k bonus dmg for an interrupt is quite nice.

As for shatters, the is no order, when shatter, all of your illusions run up to them and explode. All of them.

Unless I’ve misunderstood what has been written, I’d like to add some of my knowledge to this topic to clarify any confusion there might be.

1. The cap on “active” illusions- illusions that are attacking and moving normally in order to attack a foe- is three.

2. When shattering (F1-F3) all of the Mesmer’s illusions that are currently manifested in the world will stop their actions and run to their respective targets in order to shatter.

3. However, if illusions are order to shatter- and time/distance to the shatter target permits- more illusions can be summoned. Summoning additional illusions while previous illusions are ordered to shatter does not count against the “active” illusion cap since the illusions that were ordered to shatter are no longer considered active.

Thus it is entirely possible to have more than 3 illusions in the world at a time (albeit momentarily) if illusions are ordered to shatter and need time to get to their target while the Mesmer creates more. It’s simply that some illusions are active and others are attempting to shatter.

4. Additionally, the creation of additional illusions, after 3 previous illusions are ordered to shatter do NOT overwrite illusions attempting to shatter (i.e. they don’t pop/dissipate prematurely before shattering). The additional illusions created during a shatter also count for applicable traits that are dependent on the number of active illusions in the world- though these mechanics can have subtle nuances and the wording of the traits make them appear to function otherwise.

For Example: With the trait Compounding Power equipped- +3% additional damage for each active [sic] illusion in the world:

3 Illusions ordered to Mind Wrack-> Damage from each illusions’ Mind Wrack packet:
First gets a +9% damage bonus, Second gets +6% damage bonus, Third gets +3% damage bonus

3 Illusions ordered to Mind Wrack THEN a fourth illusion is summoned -> Damage from each illusions’ Mind Wrack Packet: First gets a +9% damage bonus (NOT +12%), Second gets a +9% damage bonus (the first illusion shattered but fourth, active illusion now counts towards the bonus damage limit), and third gets +6% damage bonus.

Yeah they really need a nerf to the health, seeing as they have DS as well, the health they have should be reduced by 25-30% and given to the class that really needs it – Ele.

Usually Play: Honestly, I really play everything but it is kind of difficult for me to rub dungeons as much as I’d like because I often am unsure of how long I have to play.
Play Times: (Sorry I don’t know the name of my timezone) I live in Florida and play mostly everyday from 20:00 to 22:30 or so. That is 17:00 to 19:30 on my server time. A lot more on the weekends
Role: I don’t know… Just be a friendly active member, willing to play with everyone in the guild in WvW, dungeons and sPvP. Not world PvE really though to be honest.

Hmm decent ideas I have to say. I really like prismatic understanding. I was talking more about the reason you would put those into illusions though.

Another thing…… Why is there so many Condi traits in illusions? I mean, if you are using illusions you are going to be using dueling more than likely sword also, so that scepter trait is out of place, no complaint though. Am complaining about shatter traits in inspiration.

It is a glorious trait, and I honestly don’t understand why it is that there are so many shatter traits in inspiration and some traits in illusions literally just don’t benefit shatter so, it’s weird. Shattered conditions is a strong one though, the healing shatter trait is weird also, it isn’t strong enough to be there, maybe they should be combined or get rid of healing shatters and get a new none shatter grandmaster inspiration trait line.

Sorry I don’t have that thorough of an understanding of mesmer. Why would 0/0/30/20/20 or 0/0/30/10/30 be good? I understand the IP thing but, using inspiration automatically says that you’re using phantasm, not typical to a condi mezzy build.

I did the same with my mesmer. I leveled mostly pve, little eve for 40 levels and crafted the rest. I learned a bit more now that I have been playing it for 2-3 weeks

Recharge does not make them hit faster, haste makes them hit faster, recharge is the amount of time YOU can summon that phant again.

If you stack up to 15 to 25, you increased everyone’s eng by 25%, so yeah it is worth it I think. 1v1? It is meh, better to use DoTs

LOL no problem with being a noon. We all once were. I don’t believe mesmer is the best class to learn with but I learned with one of the hard classes too. Now that you are into it, don’t fret, just keep learning. Also, are you well informed with combo fields? If you are not then, you may want to snoop around the forums or have a friend teach you. Along with that, maybe figure out some trait and weapon or utility synergy. It is all part of learning. After all of that, you still have advanced combat tactics... So much to learn haha

Also, with perplexity, if you use mantra of distraction and domation line, things get interesting if you are trying to use a troll confusion build. Question:does vulnerability work on condi?

I will provide you with some basic illusion mechanics:first, illusions are replaced chronologically, the first one goes. but if you have 2 phantasms and a clone, but the clone just came out and you summon another illusion, a phantasm will NEVER be replaced Unless there are no clones out, only phatasms.

Btw, that looks like a long complex process but it could be done in the matter of less than 5 seconds, 3 to 4 of you are quick.

So many people have trouble stacking confusion, but I don’t understand…. I mean, if you are using, say 5 in illusions, sc/t a pistol, some Condi duration and 6/6 perplexity runes that is EASY. Timewarp Get out 2 clone, torch 5 scepter 3 shatter 2, switch weapons, and use pistol 4, sw 3, dodge and shatter 3 boom, that is a good 23 give or take.

I don’t frequently run into these but I am wondering, for the sake of knowledge, what do you go about doing when you need to kill the mes but his phantasms are slice/dice slakitten bashing you? I don’t know whether to kill the phantasms or…..?

I was doing aweful initially but I figured it out, made my tweaks and can Confidentally charge in 1v3 and be 90% sure of victory and 7% sure of successfully running if I do. Lol it is ridiculous. Thanks bro.
