Well, I had a hard time deciding this too when I first got to 80. It was rough the whole time and will be since mesmer is your first 80. Since you’re a newb, buy green knight’s gear for EVERY SINGLE SLOT AVAILABLE, INCLUDING JEWELERY! Use this to run Honor of the Waves (Maybe TA, but it may be too hard for you.) p1 and p3, maybe farm frostgorge for an hour a day after your runs. You’ll be able to get your Rabid gear in no time and then use a PU, or, Prismatic Understanding build with conditions and a focus on clone death. It was my first build I used for WvW and as a Mesmer…. I was not disappointed. After using it for a while I actually salvaged the gear because I got bored from never dying and diving into 1v3 with confidence of victory. Good luck, to ya, and welcome to the mesmer community.

So I’m using Koroshi’s confusion all the way build (bomb WvW version) and just got fully geared for it. Holy crap man. Engi is the hardest to accomplish anything by LONG shot. I’ve played Mesmer and roflstomped 1v3-6 and 1v2 + supply camp but for the life of me, I can’t get my engi to get anything done. My Guardian is my PvE character because… Well… Yeah. But please help me… What are you guys doing to be on par with anybody? I actually died soloing a supply camp….

Let’s not forget this with HK too though guys… You have beautiful access to on heal runes… Literally no CD on the “heal” and to me IS THE BEST on heal proccer in the game, like by a long shot. This allows you to get pretty creative and thankfully is decently cheap too with most on heals.

Recently came back from a long time playing other classes and not playing engineer almost at all. I looked around to think about revamped build. Well guess what I stumbled upon? Juggernaut to master slot! Nice! Thrilled about having all the rifle and pistol traits in one line, opens space for others since you’ll never use both.

I hope you didn’t buy any laurel gear yet. Getting then is a 3% advantage over full geared exotic. Not worth it. Get a ton of t6 mats with laurels and buy them zotics.

Gosh. I’m seriously not sure what I’m going to do. My reason for perhaps going casual (hour a day before bed) is because I see nothing worth aiming for. I like playing the TP because it is good practice for real life but there is really nothing to aim at unless I meet some other good good players that I click with and will play with on the daily and maybe do 2-3 fractals a week, speed run dungeons, roam…. You know.

So, sorry Guardian veteran but I’m putting the good old guy up on the shelf for a bit. I’ll come back to him later, perhaps.

Back to check on this again before I go to sleep. So, I looked around, I like what I see but I just don’t feel that spark with Guardian. Perhaps I’ll go back to Engineer. I’ll probably still use my Guardian for PvE in general, like, all of it… Basically to get all the ctap I want for my other characters.

Thank you all. Yes I am absolutely comfortable in zerk but not fuuull zerk in WvW. I was thinking about getting some Clerics for a havoc AHEM build that seems pretty common and effective.

I have played Mesmer more than anything but it is time to move on. I rolled a Guardian and immediately purchased a full set of Zerk and knight’s. Thinking about a build to use, and am willing to spend up to around 40g to get all the gear for the majority of builds that can be used, just to get it all covered. Basically, looking for a world completion build and would prefer to use scepter and perhaps hammer, but the make or break point between me being hardcore like now and going casual and soon to quit is a nice roaming build. I like to change builds very very often and am looking for a variety, particularly for 1v2-3 builds and camp flipping. I looked in and around here and would like to know what the fun and effective builds are. A cookie-cutter fractal build and a cookie-cutter dungeon build and no zerg builds. Zerging is not fun. Zerging is mindlessly boring and I will spend literally no time at it. Big thank you in advance from a veteran GW2 fan. Hope I find what I’m looking for or I’m out.

Idk how hard this’d be to program and input but how about a little hide button in your utility box? Along with a little kit attunement pin art in your boons and condis right there.

Come on guys, you added an extra, heavily priced 100 levels onto the three crafts. Don’t deduct XP from the first 400 levels. Some of us don’t like to play the whole way through leveling. Then again you may’ve consequentially reduced the price of leveling a craft through reduced demand, but either way, why’d you guys do that? You should’ve just added an extra 5 levels or whatever onto the last levels.

I’m hoping this isn’t true but my friend told me that leveling a craft 1-400 now only gives you 5-8 levels or something. Thanks in advance.

I can’t even believe someone just said Warrior doesn’t have highest damage. I am awestruck that there are 2 people that said that… Dude, especially in a dungeon, if you have all warriors, you have 100% uptime on many stacks of might plus insane unbuffed damage to begin with.

I have to say, a MH Mace would be pretty awesome. I’d like if it contained some of 600 range frontal cone or CC. I think that the autoattack should give boons on third chain. It should be similar to the Guardian GS or Hammer. Anyways…

Glamour; pulses every 2 second giving 1 second buff that dazes attacker for one second on hit. Lasts 6 seconds. CD 60 sec.
manipulation; take no damage from 1 person for 4 seconds then gain a charge. Spend charge to give back 50% to target.
Signet; improves toughness. Switch places with an illusion.
elite; reverse timewarp.
Mantra; move 400 forward.

What on earth. That is so strange. What does the tool tip say? Also, Pyroatheist, can you report your results? So strange…

I have no experience with Phantasm but that doesn’t mean give me the most mindless build you can. I am looking for a basic, cookie cutter build to dig my feet into this playstyle. Nothing edgy, just give. Me something. Much appreciated and yours truly, Remy.

Edit: I hear that OH sword is a common use, and I don’t have just about any experience with that so, I wouldn’t mind a build with it in there.

Dude… Some players are not skilled enough to use straight berserker’s… Plain and simple. To say that a group of say, 5 warriors with full zerk gear and “meta builds” or whatever would not be more efficient than some group of friends getting together to just do a dungeon and have fun is, well, just plain ignorance really… But, not everybody CAN or wants to do that, and to deny a player a PUG group for it, that is fine really, it is your group and if you want to wait longer for that player then speed run the dungeon after we have already taken what we got and got through it, fine, I don’t really care… but for God’s sake, save that zerk or nothin motto crap for your own group, don’t go preach that to a group that isn’t yours…

Those figures are entirely inaccurate. With a pug group, dmg isn’t even the main problem… It is surviving the encounters… Most of that time is dying, which at MAXIMUM of EVERY DUNGEON, except Arah (Never done Arah) will take a MAXIMUM of 3 hours and by that time is is because you devoted your time, got a group to finish it with and your old one left you already. A dungeon in this game will never take longer than 45 minutes unless you’re group simply can NOT do it for whatever reason, and 4/5 times, it is not damage.

The stupidity is strong with this one.

They aren’t effected because you are new to mesmer and are uneducated on the matter. Menace, you should enter the build of the month contest. Just find a tester. You like making builds lol.

No need for PU that is a waste of dps and time I think. Hmm, unless he is just trying to complete it, not farm. So, you could run to the points with full stealth in a PU build then use phantasms.

That’s a nice one, but I don’t stomp THAT often and though this is super handy, it blows a stunbreak, which is tolerable but distortion usually gets the job done.

First to be noted, you can have straight knights, but if you aren’t a player with a strong understanding of the game, being a mesmer will get you killed. Plain and simple. But, if you are having trouble, use all power precision toughness and keep trying. Also, if you are using a shatter build, not only do they have a high skill floor, but they are rough dealing with condis, in this meta, you need it. Consider using a Condi PU build or phant build until what I’m calling the PPP or triple p, the post PAX patch… Then condis will be toned down a bit, and shatters may be cool again. We will just have to see huh?
