Is it just me or is that warrior Condi build wayyyy OP. For real. SOO much Condi and soooo much survivability. 1vX it does fine as long as there isn’t too many other conditions he has to handle.

I haven’t run across any condition warrior who have done anything more than tickle me. I have run into guys using the new confusion runes, put some stacks on me (plus bleeds), just to have me place them on them and laugh. If you are worried about other heavy condition builds, carry arcane thievery (plus the 20% reduction on manipulations) and a traited torch. At that point, the only condition setups that are much of a problem are massive condition necros who can throw them back at you just as easily and a few engineer setups. For those, you just need to time things right and make sure to utilize your stealth.

You lose so much to do that though. Ya feel?

One more problem, I find roaming very VERY difficult with lack of swiftness but I guess that just comes with being mezzy

I have the same issue. I am switching a bit between two builds . One uses Sw/Focus + GS (Phantasm), the other Sc/Pistol + Staff (Condi) and I REALLY miss the swiftness when I use spec 2. On another note I REALLY like the playstyle from a condi-spec. It`s just a matter of adjustment really. Haven`t decided what to go for yet

Centaur Runes. They really aren’t that bad.

To use centaur runes you have to give up perplexity runes, which fit this build perfectly. I’m wondering if this build would be hindered too much by replacing torch with focus for the swiftness. I know you lose a stealth ability which really sucks, but you do pick up an AOE interrupt.

I changed a little something that made a difference. I am using blink/veil/PDisenchant also switch out the torch trait line for glamour cooldown and menders purity. I played around with confuse duration which does work, but it is all in your playstyle.

Always interesting to see the differences in player mindsets. You grab a new build, play it for a short time, do poorly, and declare the build sucks.

Others grab a new build, try it out, and if they meet with failures say, “Well, I’m still inexperienced with this build. When I get better, it’ll be more successful.”

I’ll leave it to you to decide which type ends up happier with their play in the long run.

Dude. I have been trying for like, 4 days lol. I was fluxxing up the first day because it was my first experience with mesmer, I was expecting more. I used it a little more and was like, woahhh this could be something. I changed my mind, but perplexity is a big reason my mind is changed. I put those in…. Game changer….

I don’t know man... I don’t have a perfect gear set... I am using all fully upgraded rabid trinkets, an torch and the rest is masterwork rabid but my staff is exotic soldier’s. I haven’t used the runes of perplexity because I don’t want to waste a black lion salvage on it, and buy new perplexity runes lmao. I think I may get rabid rare from HotW really soon, then I wouldn’t mind using the salvage kits, because then at least I’ll get ectos after getting my runes back lol

Oh, also, with scepter and staff clones, it is difficult to get use out of Debiltating Dissipation I think its called. The one with random Condi on death. So, Idk I find this build rough.

Also, I’m honestly not a huge fan of veil, I mean, you could stand on it and potentially get 6 seconds of stealth and a lot of boons. Okay, it actually is pretty powerful lmao. But it is on a 90/72 sec cooldown. I feel that there are other options that could be utilized better.

I tried the Blackwater build I was told about. Things are NOT going well at all. Perhaps it is operator error but I am not getting crap for damage… and can survive a good amount but I mean… REALLY!? I couldn’t hurt a fly. I was thinking about 1v2-4. I mean, I can hardly handle 1v1 if they use any conditions at all. I had to adapt it for more condi removal but it just, it just doesn’t get it done. All warriors kill me with their stupid condi builds, thieves either kill me with condis or are about to lose and run, necros, you might as well just start running because it isn’t going to end well.

I am not concerned about armor pieces. I think I may make myself a mystic wand or buy one. Other than that…. I will either earn all of then completely through dungeons or get lazy and buy them haha.
About that apothecary build, I will buy a set of rare/masterwork stat combo quality for them and test that out also against rabid in the future. But I will probably buy all that apothecary when I get online haha. What is the build used for it?

Pyro. I’m aware of knowing the other classes. I know all classes to an extent. I mean, I’m no pro at them, but I know enough to counter them. Except guardian. I have a level 46 guardian but I was new… I never have any trouble with Guardians anyway. They don’t really have a whole lot to them. Really though. Guardian is a bunch of heals, useless burns of iffy duration and decent damage that I could cleanse on accident… They also have some weird CC that I would consider to be the hardest to avoid. But really …..? They are a joke to me. They either die or they don’t die, never kill LOL.

Alright. That is frustrating… I have to admit, however, I’m looking for a 1v1-3 build. Usually people don’t run until at LEAST you kill their buddy. I don’t know if Condi mes can offer this but I am looking for sustain with a bit of damage. Like 65% survivability and 35% offensive.

I knew that but I’m unfamiliar with TA haha. Up/up though… Is that easy? Or just stompable with a good group but that group skill curve makes a large large difference like in…. Say, AC?

Also I’m just kind of wondering, BE HONEST NOT HUMBLE! On a scale from 1-10 how good do you think you are at this game with mesmer? And 1-10 how difficult do you think mesmer is in comparison to other professions? Also… Do you think you are Vetter, on par, slightly worse or much worse than Osicat. Haha sorry had to ask.

Okay. I’m not ruling out the possibility of fractals haha. Seriously, how long would that take. I’m not in A huge hurry. If you average out the week I would probably run like, 11 runs a week. Starting from square 1 how long?

Well… Lol I already spend then all on my current soldier’s gear. How long will fractals take to obtain these? My reward level is 1 since I never really did a lot of fractals and it’s a new 80 of mine.

@armageddonash.6430 I know I will pick up prismatic understanding. I am more or less sure about the rest, but will 90% get Chaotic Dampening and the torch major.

I’ll tell more when I get home. I’m at school. Not everything is worked out and I am not an experienced mesmer. I got my mesmer to 80 about 5 days to a week ago.
Btw thanks for the advice on straight rabid and how it won’t really decrease survivability to not use any carrion. For the sake of OBTAINING the gear though, I might until I get enough fractal relics. Other than fractal relics, or dishing 4-15g a piece, how can I obtain Rabid trinkets?

Alright alright. Thank you for that information Pyro. But, even then I am talking about 1v3ing where sacrificing survivability for too much damage is your death note in WvW unless you are a very skilled mesmer. I am a decently new 80 as a mesmer but not new no no not at all! Haha. That is my opinion anyway so what do you think about at least carrion chest and amulet? I am also kind of wondering where I am going to get the rabid trinkets if I do choose that route anyway.

Tell me why it is you prefer to stick with rabid. I mean, power never hurts either because even though your precision will be reduced, I think the vitality is necessary and the power gives a little bit of upfront damage that can never be turned down, and the Condi damage is an obvious given. I’d like to ponder this with my peers point of view as well.
P.S. Your stats effect your phantasms? God I HATE that. How much does it effect it?

To the original question about Condi duration. Yeah, I have to say, would you rather take (in reality) 23% higher confusion duration with 10 off everything else…? I mean, I would use perplexity runes and in PvP you need more balance . I think its obvious, definitely go 10 into domination or further.

I recently heard of a build that I like. I am going to try a build based around condition damage and surviving. It is using scepter/torch + staff with perplexity runes and rabid gear. STRAIGHT rabid gear. I feel as though I don’t care for that much precision and with all that toughness in A condi meta, what is it with out vitality? I was wondering if it would. Be worth mixing in A carrion chest, accessories and maybe a carrion amulet also?

Haha I tried some roaming this morning using a more trollish build with full soldiers gear and a really cheap torch I just picked up to try out. Wow… I was holding off like, 5 people, 3 of them clearly glass cannon for about 15 minutes until I was lured to a zerg lol.

Thanks for all the replies! I like what I see! But I think Osicat was on the track that I was looking for. I am looking for a trolling build to kitten with zergs and what not. I am still going to take a peak at all of these builds for roaming though.

By Tankiest I mean the one with the most survival, not that can take the most damage per se.

I would like to not spend more than 25g on it. If I have to spend 30g-35g to be supreme… so be it… I would prefer against it.
