Some great fights with BP, EA, Agg and CO in both FA and TC borderlands tonight. That FABL Vale/Bay battle was about as bloody of a fight as we’ve had in awhile. Great fights and as always, lots of fun to be had.

Have grouped up with PTX quite a few times in WvW. Great interactive group that anyone would enjoy being a part of.

I would recommend checking out the Fort Aspenwood community site at www.fort-aspenwood.com. We get a lot of FA specific views there and your offer will definitely target the right audience. Good luck with your search.

FA is filled with some great guilds. UM and PTX are both great guilds. HOPE and PACT also come to mind as well.

I would suggest checking out the Fort Aspenwood community site as well at www.fort-aspenwood.com. Most guilds have a strong presence on there and can help.

No need to get angry. I just hope FA comes out strong next week like they have in the past. For a server that only cares about the fights, you seem to get discouraged pretty easily by the score.

All kidding aside, I would hope and expect a better reset night from us out of the gates. With the time being pushed back to 9pm ET, it will hit more of our prime time versus 6pm, where you get in some more Euro time players, something FA isn’t strong on. Add in a new opponent that both FA and TC hasn’t seen in awhile and you should get some more friendly faces out to start the week.

I just wanted to thank everyone that is/has participated. This is just a rough cut estimate based upon forum pledges I have seen on these forums and the FA forums, as well as mail and PM messages I have received, but overall so far it looks like we have raised $1,698.

Thank you everyone that has spread word of the drive and/or participated. As others have previously mentioned, Guild Wars has an amazing player base and community and I’m extremely heartened to see it take up a few good causes in this thread.

Hi, im the founder and Head GM of CO. Just to make an official statement from Cryptic Omen [CO] to the public we’d like to say the following:

- We loved Kaineng. We came to it willingly. Helped build the Teamspeak by promoting and founded the first server forums then later worked with Babui on founding Kaineng United.

- Fought for Kaineng every night of the week since Tier 6 and have had a rep in every server meeting for the last 3-4 months.

- We’ve enjoyed the underdog role and proving the might of Kaineng as we’ve RISE’d through the tiers. Many doubted we’d ever make it to Tier 2 to begin with…and then we won Tier 2 and felt really good about it.

- CO’s transfer is by no means influenced by any other guilds behavior or potential transfer. Our decision to leave Kaineng and find a new home was solely based on the well-being of my guild and safe keeping its future.

- CO is undecided about which server we’ll be transferring to. The only options on the table our NA Tier 2 or higher. This will be our last move. We will not move again due to many reasons (financial, morals, exhausted). Our decision will be announced May 1st.

Lastly, it’s been a pleasure fighting everyone and sharing experiences and laughing about fond memories. We’ve always tried to respect our opponents and give credit to Kaineng when they’ve worked hard together. To all the guilds and individuals that have contributed to Kaineng’s success and CO’s, I wanted to send my deepest thanks for helping us become the guild we’ve become.

Best of luck in your server search. Hope you guys find the fights you are looking for. It was a pleasure battling against you these past 7 weeks.

Best of luck to you Jarvan and the rest of RISE. We had some great open field battles against you and I hope you and your guild mates find a great home server to settle down on.

Looks like we may never see each other again unless we gain new allies in the future.

With all guilds leaving, I’m projecting that we may go down to T5 maybe T6? We’ll see how it goes specially we are down to 2 NA WvW guilds lol.

I’m one of the GMs of CO, and honestly the trolling doesn’t really bother me that much. I’ve played WvW for months and I’ve seen a ton of it in game and match threads alike. There was indeed some trash talking in LA, but I probably wouldn’t have even mentioned it had I been the only person in the guild to read it.

I can’t speak for everyone, but for my part I want out because there is no cohesion or strategic execution. I often have to command when I don’t want to, for longer hours than I would otherwise like because no one else will tag up or because our only other NA guild on in force is busy fighting on another map. It’s also discouraging to know that literally everything we capture as a guild will be gone within 30 minutes of us logging out. The coverage just isn’t good enough to hold territory anymore; weeks of losing our entire home BL every day is starting to take its toll. We can only mount sporadic offensives on FA or (rarely) TC BL anymore. EB is still fun, I guess, but we want more options and a less stressful role in server strategy.

Best of luck to you guys wherever you may end up. Always enjoyed fighting against you and loved the open field competition. Hopefully our paths will cross again soon.

Was a pleasure fighting against SoS. I’ve always found their guilds and people respectful and friendly. If you’re looking for that in a community, you cannot go wrong with SoS

No it’s not a jibe or chest thump, just an observation, FA’s strength is reset weekend, which seemed strangely vacant this week.

This reset weekend was by far and away the worst start to reset weekend I’ve seen on FA since coming over in January. I do think the earlier start time was part of it, with FA not having strong coverage during EU time and 6pm ET being a bit early for us east coasters. In talking with a good number of people, they were fearful of ques if they tried to get on at the usual hour so some didn’t even bother coming on Friday. I’m sure there was some degree of burnout and just people going outsdoors with improving weather.

Overall, after a rough start it was great to see an improvement as the weekend progressed. Will be interesting to see how the week progresses for us.

Also random shout out to TSL. Was fun running into you guys a few times on Friday night and then a bit last night. Always a pleasure to battle with you

Looks like FA is recovering from a pretty bad reset night!

FA is still going to T3 at this rate, but it’s much, much closer than yesterday: FA only loses -28 rating now instead of -55 yesterday.

Because of the volatility of scores on reset weekend, typically Millenium’s projections are thrown off. Monday is usually the best day to check it out as scores seem to have stabilized. Having closed the point loss from 55 points on reset night to 24 this morning, don’t count FA out of tier 2 just yet. We have the incentive of possibly seeing our old friends in DB.

As mentioned above, if a moderator is still reading this, please consider pinning this for at least a week and changing the subject from “FA” to “GW2” since people from other servers are participating. While FA might have come up with the idea, its the GW2 community as a whole participating.

Not sure where we will focus most this coming week. With the Queue reset times being adjusted, it really messes with our ability to be on at reset.

Many of us have expressed an interest to play more in the EB borderlands as well.

We won’t be hard to find.

If I do any commanding this week, don’t be surprised if I seek you guys out. I honestly enjoy fighting against you and think TSL pushes up to get that much better.

I think these weekly match up threads would go a lot better if people began to accept the fact that different servers, for the most part focus on different things.

TC for instance, and I apologize if my assumption is wrong, loves to look at the overall PPT and base that upon their standing in WvW. They love capping camps/towers/keeps within the last 5 minutes if it adds to their server’s overall PPT. This is a generalization and I am sure does not encompass the entire server, but this is just my opinion as a third party.

For FA, having been here since mid to late January, I can tell you that the majority of guilds on the server are in it for the fights. We love open field combat and we love going head to head against groups and guilds on over servers. Each individual fight is a contest in itself and that is entirely what we live for. To be completely honest, the biggest punishment for us is to be in a BL and to go against outmanned opponents head to head. And before some of the haters comment, BT is a heavy east coast weighted group so around 11pm ET our numbers typically fall off due to work/school commitments the next day on weekdays.

I have KA a ton of credit. They’ve managed to stay out of the whole forum warrior battles here in this week’s thread. I honestly am not sure what they focus is on but have seen posts that have implied there are some that love great fights and others that are disappointed by their recent PPT.

Overall, and I know it will take a great deal of time to accomplish, if our servers can just accept the simple fact that groups and individuals focus in on other acepts of WvW to get their “gold medal” (or participation award), these threads would be a hell of a lot more constructive and interactive.

We at TSL would like to thank both Kaineng and Fort Aspenwood for the last weeks worth of fights. We’ve had some fantastic battles against large numbers from both servers.

Also wanted to give a shout out to the KA scout that was sitting outside of Astralholme in jaguar form last night. I was the BT necro who came up as an ice elemental before getting called away.

As for the change in reset time, I do think it benefits TC. They have a fairly strong militia base while FA and KA do rely a bit on their big guilds more so than their developing and improving militias. In addition, TC does have a strong EU presence, which will have more time to participate than over prior reset times.

How are guilds on other servers planning on dealing with ques? Have your players get into whatever map they can while waiting to get into the one their guild is in?

I’ll just say one thing, no one seems to talk about the lower tiers t7 (I don’t know the coverage or recruits they’ve had) but just watching the score over a few weeks; HoD came in first by a fair bit a few weeks ago now it’s in last. I bring this up to say that one server dominates one week then loses the next. Just because it’s a higher tier doesn’t mean there can’t be upsets. Now lets take the fighting back in-game pls and may everyone’s inventory be full all week.

I think a lot of that has to do with the few days of free transfers to lower population servers, accompanied with the artificial ratings boost to tier 8 to help give them a shot at moving up. It did change the balance down there a bit

Well to throw out a WvW related pledge, for reset weekend this week (Friday to Sunday night midnight ET) I will donate 25 cents for every kill I get (playing a necro lets just say ranges between 600-1000 per day) and $5 for every yak killed.

As a side note, a lot of companies march charitable donations or some portion of them.

Just a heads up, in case you turned down your WvW settings as a workaround for this: the fix for the crash went in this morning, and we haven’t seen any occurrences since.

Thanks for the update Patrick but as of last night, the crashing was still happening. One particular instance, somewhere between 8-10pm ET last night, during a tower fight (so not even the water bug crash), a group of about 10 people on Fort Aspenwood all had the game crash simultaneously. I know a few of us submitted crash reports.

Hopefully the crash reports will give you something to isolate the issue.

We also have the same things going on. The problem is, you guys seem to get a lot of fairweather players out on the weekend, then come monday, your forces shrink dramatically. We’ve had the same problem on TC before. Since we are an RP server though, all we have to do is throw a dolyak parade to get people to come out. Not sure what the answer is to you guys getting more militia to come out.

We just started kicking the tires with potentially some militia training nights during the week which hopefully will help perk interest. In addition we can do some of the off the beaten path events like karaoke night on TS (stealing this from KA) or a WvW bounty/objective night (gold rewards for hitting certain marks).

I think for all communities, TC/FA/KA, it’s a matter of trying to get some more PvE focused guilds involved more frequently that would make a huge difference later in the week.

Question to FA and KN, out of curiosity, but are your WvW communities just as happy and excited to WvW at the end of the week (not with just THIS week, but I mean historically and lately to now), or do you have your moments across the week?

From an FA perspective, it feels like our best attendance is on reset night and over the weekend. Our weekend scoring definitely reflects that. Forum warriors aside, I think our population base skews towards the college/workforce age groups, which typically means we have less participation during the week. It has seemed like this both recently but also dating back to our tier 3 days.

Also some of our bigger WvW guilds have meetings and/or bounty nights scheduled during the week, which drops attendance on random nights.

Well on FA we do have a Nedd Stark…. And yes, I know it’s supposed to only be one D

The Briar fights were fun. Momentum seemed to go both ways and the tower stand lasted awhile. I was also glad to see some of your guildies and CERN jump at the cookie trays we had spread across the bridge and entrance way into the tower. We were hoping for a toucan sam type of event where you would blindly follow the trays into the tower, but sadly that failed.

Unfortunately for the fight at Lake, I think BT was down to around 10 members to support HOPE in its defense. Your mesmer pulls into massive AOEs were very effective and something I haven’t seen used before. Definitely something to add to the playbook.

You guys almost ended that lake tower defense early when HOPE was about to push CERN on the open field but we saw PiNK at the last second coming on the flank. Thankfully we were mostly all able to get back into the tower. Love the coordination between you and CERN these past few days, just not necessarily the abuse I get when I run into ya without my guildmates ;-)

From what I’ve seen so far in KABL, you guys have maybe around 20 in there, but control most of the map. TC is having too much fun going after FA to bother with your stuff.

That Briar battle in FA BL last night was awesome. BT are the masters of defending the tower. I give them huge props for the excellent defense there. I’ve got a few things up my sleeve if we run into this situation again and I hope I get to try them. In the end, they built up a huge force and swept out to eliminate us. The interesting thing was, after the challenge had gone away, they moved elsewhere for more fun. You can tell they enjoy the combat of the game and a good challenge, so even though they hate us, I respect them highly.

TSL has been on TC since release. From what I understand, they are a very old guild that started many years ago. I know for sure they have some great commanders and we are lucky to have them.

Definitely noticed a change in some of your tactics last night around the tower fight. Between having the force to the north of the tower pulling people off of the walls to being more observant of portals in the ruins (you definitely stomped a few of the portals), we saw a bit of change in your tactics. Looking forward to seeing your other new strats and tricks. A few of us have added cookie trays to ours, just don’t mind the portals around them.

After that tower stand off, quite a few of us ended up logging for the night. It was definitely a night with some intense action.

As for hating DIS, I can’t speak on the guild’s behalf but I can personally say I do not. We see you guys on the open field more often than not and you’re not afraid to fight. As your quoted post and last night’s tower stand off shows, you adjust tactics, which in turn will make us adjust ours or come up with new ones. You force us to get betters which I appreciate and respect.

That briar stand off was great! We weren’t going to go in there and let you farm us. BT was persistent with their tricks to get us to rush in too. EDIT: I was just thinking back to how awesome BTs zerg movements are. So fun to watch them swirl around us before the portal comes.

Another great battle on FABL was the taking of North camp. Must have been no more than 10 of us against a perpetual wave of FA zergs and ballistas. Great night last night FA .

We tried everything to lure you into that tower, whether it was pushing slightly on the bridge, counter trebbing, having some of our forces leave only to port up and hide in the Lord’s room… Nothing worked. I give you guys a ton of credit. We will try cookie trays next time (have found them in your keeps/towers a few times this week). It was a fun fight to cap off an entertaining evening in the BL.

Yeah, bourbon can be rough. I found some rot-gut bourbon at my local liquor store a couple of years ago that was like $10 for a liter. It was obviously not so great, but it got me smashed. Seriously, they probably could have used it as engine degreaser. But that didn’t stop me from drinking way too much of the stuff. I had some… digestive difficulties while I was drinking it. They don’t call it “rot-gut” for nothing!

Scotch drinker as well or just stick to bourbon? Seems like there are quite a few of us in BT that love our whiskey and scotches and it makes for an interesting reset night on TS.
