It was fun fighting up against you guys last night in BGBL. Unfortunately the ques during NA have been terrible this week and its been hard to get solid guild groups together. Was glad to run into you guys (I was following OnS) and wanted to say thanks for the fights.

Had fun on the ruins trying to grab bloodlust. Ran into a very solid SoR three man squad capping nodes last night. Forget the guild tag but had some great fights.

Hope the ques ease up for all three servers for round 2.

As others have posted, DEAD, Coo and AEGIS are all guilds you should take a look at on BG. All offer a variety of events that should help continue to perk your interest in the game.

Agree with Zhonn. I think tier 1 will be as competitive as its ever been during league play. All three servers have their strong periods (JQ – late OCX and SEA, SoR – EU and early NA, BQ – late NA and early OCX) and ultimately, weekly wins when facing one another will be determined by map play.

As someone who transferred to BG a few months ago, I can honestly say I love the community and interaction between guilds. TS is always active and there are some amazing guilds to work with during my time slot.

As a server, we would love to see some more OCX, SEA and EU players and guilds among our mix. If any guilds or individuals are interested and have any questions, please feel free to drop me a line and I’d be happy to answer them.

Tonight has been quite possibly the most epic night ever in SoR history.

Nice job leading… Hopefully someone got that kid a glass of water or followed up on the BJ suggestion (maybe both) from TS.

Only complaint would be… At the 4:35 mark, that is nowhere near an 80 man map Zerg. If you think it is, then I can see why some people think we have 200 people per map.

Meh, even still there seems to be a lot of people on BG/JQ/[non-SOR server] that keep bringing up or poking fun at things like “We aren’t playing for PPT” and “This is a training week.” I think it’s hilarious that people ON SOR are using these things as excuses when in fact they are taking these small phrases grossly out of context. All they are doing is providing people on other servers with MASSIVE troll bate for weeks on end.

EVERY GUILD should be constantly training. NO WEEK should specifically be a “training week”. That goes for every server. If you’re not learning from what you see on the field, you’re falling behind.

EVERYONE should be playing for fun, and not get super stressed over PPT. That just makes it less of a game, and more of a job.

Would recommend checking out the BG community site (http://blackgatewvw.com/forum/ ). While it’s geared towards WvW there are quite a few PvX guilds that participate on the site.

If you play within the NA time zones, I’d recommend taking a look at DEAD and MoB. Both are made up of some fun folks and I’ve had nothing but great experiencing interacting with them.

Would definitely recommend taking a look at JQ. They are a server filled with great people who could use more players during NA hours.

On a tier 2 perspective, I recommend looking into FA. It’s a stable server that has survived and even excelled against constant fierce competition. There is a good mixture of small and large WvW focused guilds. Would recommend checking out their community site at www.fort-aspenwood.com

VIG has been a proud member of GW2’s greatest WVW community since minute 1 day 1.

Most of the guild is just very quiet and low key. (Adult might be a good description since it won’t apply to me. ) But the larger guilds on our server, the senior commanders and a lot of the militia know who we are. Which suffices.

Beyond that, it would be nice if someone better versed in it than I were to recount the guild’s history in other games, but I suspect the best candidates are much too reticent.

Otherwise, like most of SoR, we simply relish a good fight such as we, on occasion, enjoyed tonight.

My apologies. Tonight was the first time anyone in BT ran into you guys. Granted, we have not been on BG for too long so I apologize for the oversight.

It was fun fighting against you guys. Enjoyed how you broke through the northern gate at Hills with the defenders focused on the other SoR group on south. Great job. Hope to run into you again soon.

Fun times in DBBL tonight against LUN/HL/VIG, BP/GODS/EA and later HL/Choo and EAT/qT. The three way fights at SE Bay and then by the victory wurm were great.

Also have not seen VIG around previously so I guess welcome to Tier 1 or good luck on the new guild venture

The only downside is that roaming doesn’t seem to happen in this tier. I never find one BG or SoR guy by themself. JQ was the same way when we faced them a few weeks back. Does T1 have designated 1v1 areas/times? (Not talking gvg, guild isn’t really into that.)

There’s no organized Fight Club like some other servers have hosted in the past, but there definitely are some roaming groups of 3-5 for camp flipping and yak slapping. Typically just wait for a timer that is about to expire in a camp and I’m sure you’ll find an SoR or BG havoc squad nearby getting ready to flip it.

Both servers use solo scouts throughout the map but they are typically used more for Zerg trailing or force finding rather than single 1×1 engagement. When I’m doing it, I typically avoid any engagement all together as I’m trying to trail an enemy group or locate one, rather than getting caught up in a fight myself.

Unfortunately when both HL and LUN were operating together, you more than outnumber the BT + militia we had on our tag tonight. At peak BT had 28 people online, with a handful always in the que. Maybe another 10-20 militia at various times following us. Regardless of how many you each had in guild, you also had quite a few militia with you, similar to us. Whenever we ran into the combined LUN/HL/militia force, we thankfully were able to operate and operate well with OnS.

Random question but in the NE camp fight, why pull off as far from LUN as you did? Made it easy for OnS to engage LUN and us to cut you off from reinforcing.

Anyways, was a fun night of engagement with you guys and hope to catch you again later this week.

Not that HB or RK need any defending but having played with them a bit this week during EU hours, I think some of the forum warriors from all sides (BG included) need to understand what BG’s EU is like. Within a 30 minute period I’ve seen them map jump 3 times to defend Bay, take SMC and then try to take Hills on three separate maps. Simply put, BG does not have the EU numbers that SoR has and when they map jump, it’s not to avoid a group but to attack/defend an objective. I’ve seen guilds from other servers do this effectively as well (TW, HzH come to mind recently).

Secondly, as others have stated, GvG’ing and WvW’ing are two separate animals. GvG has a lot of theory crafting, composition selecting and build structuring with a bit of situational awareness. While some of that goes into WvW as well (in particular the build structuring), the level of situational awareness, screen panning, terrain manipulation, and simply adapting to what you have is completely different in WvW. In GvG you don’t have to adjust to a third party coming in during the middle of a fight. I respect GvG leaders for the time and effort they put into it, but it’s not WvW (hopefully Anet puts a larger arena feature in to make it easier on you).

As always with post WvW fights, just remember these simple formulas:

Enemy 1 thinks you have Y number of people fighting under your guild tag in a battle
You think you have Y/2 fighting under your guild tag
You likely have Y times .65 fighting under your tag
In addition to .65Y, you likely have .25Y with you in militia if you’re running a tag or .10Y in militia without a tag

All servers blog at some point or another. No reason for anyone to deny it. We all might try to prevent it from happening but more times than not there is no way to stop it.

I’m still somewhat new to the server but LotD and GoF, both with more of a PvP/WvW focus, would be great guilds to take a look at. DEAD and MoB are also great and are pretty well rounded

Welcome back to the fold. You haven’t missed out on much… Same old weekly 1000+ posts per week of all three servers whining, with an occasional solid post.

BT, RISE and LoTD each had around 20-25 at peak and tried to operate separately (all three ran tagless for most of the night) , except when going for bit objectives or defending against large zergs.

Shout out to Choo, HL, EMP (your 8 man group smoked me a few times at Vale), WARD and ACO (sorry if I am forgetting any other tags) for some great fights in JQBL last night. The battles at Briar, Vale and Bay were fun and a bit nerve wracking at times. Thanks to LoTD, RISE and, later in the night, ND, for the great communication and interaction.

No Dice is filled with great fun folks and you can’t go wrong with them. I’d also suggest checking out the FA community site at: www.fort-aspenwood.com/. You’ll likely get a better response from FA only folks there than on this site

Sorry you went through a terrible experience with the guild who should not be named.

I’m not on JQ but I’ve fought some great JQ guilds in WvW. I’m not sure who is recruiting so won’t name them but I definitely suggest checking out the server’s community site ( jadequarry.com/index ) as you’ll likely get a much better response there than here.

I’m a member of BT, not an officer or spokesman but my personal take is this:

First, BT has a total of around 104 members in the guild. Typically on a given weeknight, we run between 25-40, depending upon the day and attendance. Would say 30-35 is a more accurate daily estimate though with summer being here, I’d expect that to drop.

As someone pointed our previously, we prefer to run on our own due to our own theory crafting, build management and strategies. On most nights we tend to stay on our own Teamspeak to try and sticking to running BT only. We’ve publicly asked militia at times to join on another commander in the zone or even have a BT secondary commander break off to lead militia around on the map to make BG as a whole more effective in the zone.

We as a whole transferred to Tier 1 “for the fights” and certainly have not been disappointed by it. Guilds like SF, Choo, Agg (btw: welcome to tier 1), TSYM, HL, HzH, TW and others were what drove us to make the move. We did our homework and felt that in coming to BG, we would have the best fights against some pretty quality opponents. We have not been disappointed and hope that forum warriors aside, the guilds we are going up against haven’t either.

On a side note, our biggest surprise was facing some of these server zergs on maps, but we have been thankfully to be able to work with some great guilds like Icoa, HB, RISE, WM and others. The coordination with leadership/commanders of these guilds has been great and I’m thankful for being able to work with them in fighting these server zergs, or Voltron as we call them on TS when we see its 2-3 guilds blobbed together.

In terms of GvG, once again this is my personal opinion but I’m just not a fan. Ivfeel like GvG is a separate type of event outside of WvW. I feel a commander/guild’s strengths are better shown when adopting to situations and terrain on a field of battle rather than pre planning your group make ups and builds and then smashing heads behind the windmill (i know its a bad summary of what GvG is… trying to keep it small). I have nothing but respect for the folks that put in the time and effort to GvG and feel that it’s a travesty that Anet has not put something in place in an arena like atmosphere. For me though, I personally just feel that a strong commander is demonstrated more in regular WvW by adapting when they see a third force coming in at the last minute, using terrain to their advantage or simply adjusting on the fly to what they have.

Once again, this is all just my personal beliefs and not a reflection of BT’s officers or its forum warriors. I have nothing but respect for the guilds we’ve come up against (even with some few forum warriors doing the bulk of the talking) and am looking forward to the steady fights ahead.

That Agg/WARD/ACO group in SoRBL last night was one giant ball of hate. While it was not fun being on the receiving end of the abuse, I just want to say that was some of the best multi-guild coordination I have seen in awhile, both at Briar and Bay.

It was a ton of fun in SoR borderland last night, in particular the defending bay. SoR pushed all night on the northern gates with JQ eventually joining the fray at the southern gate. Just when we thought things died down and we’d map jump to help another keep, suddenly you both were back there again and we had to port back.

Just wanted to shout out to Choo and Hzh. Those were a lot of fun fights all over the map throughout NA prime time. Also wanted to thank BG’s KnT. We had a lot of fun teaming up with you.

Was fun running into some old friends in EA, TG, and Agg tonight. Lots of fun and fights to be had in BGBL.

Had some great fights throughout the map on JQBL. Think we ran into some folks from HL, LUN, SF, TW and SG throughout the night. Thanks for the open field fights and some pretty tough tower/keep defenses. Really enjoyed some of the fights at Lake with HL and LUN.

Can’t speak for all of BT or it’s leadership but I can say we’ve received what we were promised on BG: some great open field fights. I just transferred over last Thursday but have had some great encounters and interaction with members of TW, Tsym, SF, Choo and other guilds (sleep deprived today so drawing a blank on names). I’m hopeful that pace and activity level will continue as these has been some of the best fights we’ve had in a long time. Looking forward to seeing you all on the battlefield tonight.

Likely similar to how you get a chest when you complete a map zone or daily… You’ll see the chest in the lower right hand corner of your screen

Jayne, I hate to be the bearer of bad news and tarnish the image of FA, but there is a growing population that participates in RP Tuesdays. Granted, it mostly involves a lot of alcohol being consumed as we track invaders with our sonar beards and slay them for their dastardly acts, however, in recent weeks the participants have been growing in number.

I’m sorry if this will forever ruin your image of our server. I know the hubby (not really her husband) has been itching to tell you but he just didn’t have the heart to.

Had a lot of fun in FABL last night. There were some good fights against BP/WAR and an appearance by RE. Then later in the night some pretty fun fights in Vale against TSL/CERN. Hope the week stays at this pace.

Fun times fighting BP/Agg and a large TC militia group in TC BL tonight. Definitely some close encounters and three way battles throughout the night.

If it makes you and Venton feel any better, I think I am psychologically scarred from spending so much time on a treb. I didn’t think those walls would ever go down. And then those cows…. poor creatures. All kidding aside, this is definitely now Siege Wars 2 with how over powered ACs are.

You did an amazing job sieging it up. Just when we thought we had all of the carts and ballistas down we have another set of arrows raining down on us.

Would say I enjoyed the siege but it was painful. Did enjoy the fights with you guys in Bay when we took it and then when you almost grabbed it back (got that golem in there fast)

What is pretty disheartening is ita been more than 24 hours after two MAJOR changes in WvW (mesmers and arrow carts) and yet the only Dev WvW related comments we have gotten so far have been about jumping puzzle chests and ascend gear. While I’m sure it’s tough for them given the scroll of posts on the forums, the complete lack of commentary on the two main WvW is disappointing.

There’s been decent responses relating to the PvE content and while there are a ton of radical posts out there, there is an equal number of reasonable and well thought out posts like this.

Would note that I generally feel like Devon Carver has been great in the past with interaction and feedback, but after such major changes yesterday and no color today, he dropped the ball this time.
