Trololololol. Best post. Yeah he probably was busy doing WvW training – like yesterday when he said “we are doing some training but defending our corner if needed”. Then he talked staying in spawn… I think we lost 1 tower. Then later he is in blue corner and someone reporting early on Mendon getting attacked(was reinforced and fortified but not much siege but still time to move zerg back to try defending). He still stays in blue corner. Trying do to his “training” taking some tower.
Mendon lost of course.
And then he complains about people not reporting accurately. A lot of commanders don’t care that’s why no one is reporting. And maybe that’s also why no one is upgrading. (Sometimes it works – then we have Ogrewatch, Keep and Veloka maxed pretty fast but yesterday it was slow…)
If you’re going to say things like that at least make it closer to the truth :P
I arrived on the map and took sm with my guild after IMP took down the walls, then ran around with a group poking blues land.
While we were at durios we got a message that we had lost mendons in chat, it was upgraded and our first warning was oh its been flipped, this happened on a few other camps and another tower on the top left side of the map.
After about an hour of recapping our land and resuppling the zerg I asked the map if we could do some training because the lack of stacking and poor reporting meant we were never able to respond fast enough and we were losing numbers over it.
I decided that while we were training we would stay defensive and focus on our 1/3 While everyone regrouped at spawn i explained a few wvw basics and we moved on and resupplied up, we did some buff training and when i was happy with the progress I made a push to one of blues t3 towers, we put down 6 rams and got in pretty fast and went for the lord, we got stalled by a few defenders holding in the lords room until reinforcements got there. Green and blue had been fighting over sm at the time so we kept going.
mendons was under attack while we were pushing the tower on the inside so it was to late to move back and mendons was WOODEN at this time, it had been flipped over and over for the last hour so wasn’t a big deal to lose compared to taking a t3 tower so i ordered the group to ignore it.
I brought up reporting to the map and explained what the commander needs to know, just because a lot of new commanders don’t care doesn’t mean anyone with any experience wont expect scouting to happen its basic wvw 101 to have people giving accurate reports of what the other teams are doing not “we are under attack!” and that it :P
If you don’t like how I command just tag up and do better, I was running a guild event and asked by the eb players who saw me to tag up during the event because the other commander was just running around with a tag on.

Hey guys, im a leader of a huge guild and im having some major issues right now.
The build queue is always empty, I cant add to it or see anything on the queue meaning i cant sort out any upgrades for the guild
and when speaking to the guild bank npc the npc says your guild does not have a bank yet or you don’t have permission to access the bank.
Im the guild leader.
Any ideas? This started since i moved houses, these are the only 2 bugs ive had that ive noticed except the usual whisper not working bug everything else works fine its just these 2 features that I cant get working.

It wasn’t my plan, i came online and saw a thread, commented on it. I haven’t been on guildwars today, haven’t spoken to any of the other guild leaders about any such plans and don’t actually agree with doing it.
Anet screwed us over in my opinion, I don’t blame the other 2 guilds for venting about it on our forum though and they should be able to bring it up even if its everyone else saying they disagree.

Guys you should know that Vaacrow is trolling and making major exaggerations.
One guild on underworld had a vote with its members and has decided to have a break from defending.
Another guild leader from a smaller guild posted a thread on our forum about what we should do about the league idea.
Noone has agreed to anything, noone is dropping on purpose, it was just posted in a thread.
Vaacrow just likes posting that everyone who disagrees with him is a traitor to their server and that real wvwers would do this or that all the time :P
The reality is nothing is decided and we couldn’t go 4 comments without name calling :P
Infact hes using it as a political stunt, no matter how many times i say i wouldn’t agree to it unless the majority wanted it first and therefore nothing I could do anyway he keeps telling everyone its my idea…
The truth is Underworld is fairly screwed because of our very high population, and playing silver league isnt an easy environment to be able to try to get new pvers into wvw, thats why this was brought up unfortunately maturity isnt a strong point of this kind of talk :P
Noone will let us lose, thats not going to happen, so calm down, we will see you in a few weeks dont worry :P

I have less armour than a heavy class although a number of my kits are melee range

WvW rank is related to population but not general server population.
Depending on when a server got fuller determines its rank, if you started off lower and had transfers you will have a higher rank than a server that started off high and never got new blood.
Underworld is a very high server and never drops below that, being on very high for so long basically means we get no wvw transfers at all so depending on when a server became very high would determine wvw rank not the population itself
the highest rank servers used to be mediums until mass transfers happened
Hey guys, this isn’t an excuse or a real complaint but the truth is anets link between general population size and transfer fees is breaking servers like mine in Wvw
I love underworld, I wouldn’t dream of moving off it, but the truth is its mainly a pve server and because we have been stuck at very high since very early in the game began with haven’t had an increase to our WvW population at all
The problem is we are in sort of a unique situation because we are stuck as very high but we never had much of a wvw community in the first place, we are the only very high server to really be suffering, it costs A LOT of gold to move here which has turned away entire alliances who told us it was to expensive to move there, any guild who has moved here has ended up leaving half of its players behind or only managed to move a few select players who can afford playing 80g+ to move.
Anet keep adding plans like " free transfers to medium servers" which allows entire guilds of players to move from underworld to servers higher ranked even if those servers didn’t need the help in the first place leaving us even more screwed than before.
Anet needs to seperate the ideas of General population and WvW population and consider a better long term method, for example http://mos.millenium.org/matchups#EU
Each servers history of wins is on that site, if your server is the highest rank, you don’t need transfers so make moving cheaper the lower down the general ranks you are, no matter of server size if you have been below 15 rank for months you need more help thank anyone above, if you are in the bottom 6 servers you need more help than the servers above that and so on.
Its simple really, to cheat and lower the cost of transfer cost a server would need to allow its rank to drop 10+ ranks to be worth it, and for most servers you wouldn’t get even close to enough players willing to give up on wvw for months for that to work.
The alternative to anet stepping in is somehow making our players either play even more or manage to be fighting 2vs1 all the time and win against servers with both numbers and as much training as we do which isn’t possible.
I have a day job and can’t spend 5 hours a night in wvw, its not realistic but the current system gives that as the option we have to get out of being the lowest ranked server in the silver league because we have a server which cant get transfers.

This has to happen, i have a large maxed out guild but we cant even run an event where 10% of my online players can get in at once because theres a 2 hour queue on the instance to get one player in.
Its bad enough Anet don’t understand what guilds are or their needs but forcing us to play in random overflows apart from each other makes this failure something of a major problem for any guild with more than 5 players trying to get in the same overflow.
Overflow otto is more realistic, i have no problem with hard content if i get to play it, my guilds 500 man, i imagine getting 50 players in an instance isn’t a problem for me on paper but the game would cause mass overflows and separate us into 10 areas.
I heard that FS are giving up this week to drop their rank for the incoming league patches :/ Although my source was a random FS guy and the rankings on mos

Poe you’re describing things a bit one sided. Many engineer blasts aren’t attached to intrinsically helpful skills, they’re attached to trade off, lose something (like a turret or reposition) in order to gain the blast finisher. This isn’t true of most other classes blast finishers, they are generally gain skills, e.g. lose nothing, do nice damage, with blast finisher as well.

Engis can’t carry many kits without screwing up the usefulness of a build, excluding the F1/2/3/4 skills kits don’t benefit the user unless you have it equipped.

but the amount of each ele have is greater, 9 fields for eles 7 for engis.
The engi fields are on skills that are somewhat limited or not used much, for example how often would you use a mortar for the ice field? Now assuming i have this right the Ele can equip 4 fire types with one kind of weapon, engis have to have a certain elite and 4 kits to access the rest.
Major difference in builds, realistically the engi can one 2 of those kits without breaking his build while the ele just needs to choose the right weapon and he can put down several of those fields, i believe Staff has access to 3 of those types and daggers 3 too.

the engineer ones involve using barely used skills or detonating the primary function of that skill like destroying a turret while the ele and warrior blasts are combat based and actually help the user when chained.
So out of the 2 if an engi goes for all the combo fields he will be pretty weak while the ele would be buffed by it.
Lets be honest, Engis are limited in roles, we are meant to be Crowd control but to be honest elementalists do it better, have access to more fields and CAN ACTUALLY CARRY SKILLS ¬_¬
Engis are fun but we cant easily buff our allies, elixirs are buffs for us only, compare that to a guardian and we look pretty useless in a team fight.
A lot of our skills have an element of RNG, which is fine in pvp for for anything competitive its useless, ill either be invisible or ill have stability, 50% chance to not have something I want… great
Kits are interesting, but they are also a nerf, you can only use 1 kit at a time which means that any extra kits are taking up skill slots that other classes arent stuck in, i believe that we should ALWAYS get 1 free kit maybe on the ¬ key since we are pretty much forced to be kits or elixirs they need to allow us to actually be able to use a few kits without a major nerf.
If different kits gave us a buff for each kit we had in our slots. that would be a fair compromise, since otherwise its a useless slot if we don’t have it out.
Grenade: Fury
Bombs: Might x 3
Healing: Stability/Regen
Flamethrower: Protection/Aegis
etc
but currently kits take up a slot and don’t do anything else, for example choosing Elixir gives you buffs and fast healing, but you could have a healing kit and get stability.
I could have elixirs to give me a group of buffs or i could focus on 1 buff that i want to have up.
make it so that a buff takes 8 seconds to come back if its stripped off and that balances it out a bit, either way i think this is a viable improvement on the engineer.

Mayhem and AA use their numbers and their “Organized WvW” to attract potential pure WvWers which should be going to GuM or SWD, and being trained properly.
Having teamspeak and leading 30 people doesn’t make you an organized WvW guild.also Greek Titans atm field 10-20 members, since its Summer. Expect our presence in September, that’s when we will get serious
I don’t know your guild name because its a new guild, if i had ignored you would have complained that i mentioned SPGR and not you :P so be fair.
Having teamspeak and having a large group of players stacked up, following orders and generally having fun to me means youre running an organised event, so saying we run organised wvw is right, we never claim to be hardcore wvw like SWD but we are still fielding a lot of players.
Organised group play is far far different to hardcore wvw focused, SWD is a Hardcore WvW guild so players who want hardcore go there while players who like everything everything go here, its how guilds generally work, some specialise and become hardcore and others don’t.
You can either complain that UW doesn’t have enough numbers OR complain about having to many untrained numbers but complaining about both is silly since you either scare off newer players or demotivate the guys you have playing all the time by making wvw sound hopeless.
Sure mayh brought 20 or so newer players into wvw this reset but the alternative was 20 less players in wvw :P we had some fun and wiped the AG zerg we were fighting for abit then lost steam when we got outmanned.
Id rather play with people who want to play wvw and have fun than people who are elitist and demand players be in a certain guild to step foot in their precious wvw

Considering you used the FoG tag, it kind of shows how far behind you are, we haven’t used that tag for what 4 months now?
SWD pull those numbers daily. SPGR and the new SPGR cut off guild also pull large numbers, PAX, TKON, Mayh also pull good numbers too. I cant talk for the eb guilds since i don’t visit there often but they always have a full border so many of them will pull daily numbers such as RAIN and APE.
Mayh is a mixed focus guild, we run events of every part of the game not just wvw so we dont go daily but we have at least 2 wvw events a week not including reset always, with many players running together at peak anyway so please don’t talk about something you know nothing about. In fact mayh pulls over 30 players each week to reset and have done for longer than your guild has existed, i brought up the number when speaking to the AG clan we were fighting on reset, it wasn’t boasting in the slightest. For a Guild which isn’t WvW focused im fine with those numbers, 46 out of 70 players in wvw is awesome so of course i was excited :P
On reset the server teamspeak had closer to 100 players online from 5 or so guilds and pugs, which is fine in my eyes considering we recently moved here
WvW isn’t a job, and not many guilds on UW are only wvw focused, so spend less time slating everyone else and work on your own guild… look at the rest of the thread, the rest of us are having plenty of fun, maybe if you spent less time raging on the forum you would enjoy wvw.

Homeborder : 10 Defenders, the gummies, and when they ring the alarm bell we’ll pull off 50 to 60 reinforcements from our natnional reserves in Lions Arch.
Enemy Borderlands : Off limits. Our soldiers are not trained enough, and I havent seen any serious damage done by any of our guilds in a long time. No offence, but we have no extremly organised guilds, best we can do is dust off some SWD players and sent them to battle, but that’ll be 20-25 tops.
I don’t mean to offend any of my fellow servermates, but I command 6-7 hours a day, and I havent spotted any guilds yet that can match our oponents organisation, VcY couldnt even be dealt with with our pugs. I hope I am strongly mistaken, but I fear that the best we’re going to show up with is homeborder defence, and Eternal Battlegrounds blobbing in 70-85 man groups from 12:30 till 01:30.
I’m not experienced with Aurora Glade, but I fear we, a mainly pug server named Underworld, will not meet your expectations.

Yes Archi, you are the only person who takes WvW so seriously that you can’t have fun unless you’re winning or farming sm for wxp.
Who cares if its a stacked match up? I had a lot of fun attacking AG last night, and if FSP had showed up any sooner we would have probably had garrison flipped too.
You command 7 hours a day and you’re a guild leader but you apparently don’t have a guild that matches the opponents organisation so why are you complaining that the rest of the server aren’t at that level in your eyes either? :P Surely if you play so much more than everyone else you should have the most organised guild ever?
Seriously, Our guild brought at least 46 players to wvw last night to AG border, half of those have barely played WvW and wanted to play it in a large guild event to understand how to play, Although we got slaughtered after we lost momentum we took bay several times, wiped FIRE several times and generally had a ton of fun and the new guys got some training hours in, you don’t have to win all the time to enjoy yourself.

We wiped you FIRE guys a few times first and took bay, then we had to move a guild to another map to help home border so we lost 20 players then it got abit messy, FSP needed to attack you sooner to even it up on your border really :P because they weren’t attacking we were outnumbered fighting you on your home.
We had fun anyway :P a large amount of our zerg was new to wvw due to a guild event we were running so we were spending the night training them more than anything, it was a lot of fun anyway, its a shame FSP did not attack your border for like 3 hours though since we didn’t have the numbers to fight your entire home and take everything.

I had a lot of fun commanding on the Ruins border over reset :P We had a Tkon, Mayh and IMP event for the first 3 or so hours, it was a lot of fun! Dex you guys were loads of fun to fight against :P
It was a shame WSR seemed about shy, for the first few hours the only time they seemed to go for hills was when UW had wiped bashing open the top hills gate :P I was hoping WSR would push RoS abit more but it was still fun. The 3 zerg siege of bay was nerve wracking ! I had to call Pax from home border to stop that one
Numbers wise UW and RoS were evenly matched on the RoS border so was a pretty interesting night, wasn’t easy to steamroll anyone
I really doubt any guild would take moving so slightly as you make out, do you not think it could be due to other issues?
If that many players feel ROF isn’t fun to play on anymore I don’t blame them if they want to move.
Its not cheap to move anymore so lets be honest a guild wouldnt take moving lightly
3000 coffers, no tickets. I’ve literally spent all of the gold i’ve made in the last few weeks on coffers and nothing, as a fairly casual player am I allowed to think they are screwing me over?
Thats what 40g+ at least spent on getting 1 ticket and nothing, i would have easily paid 20g in gems for the tickets, RNG puts me off since every time they run one of these events i never get the items.
I wouldn’t have a problem with buying it on the gem store but this is stupid
Why can we still use the investigation kit to grief? (Using it, dropping it, using it again… to make appear lots of dropped items… a bit annoying even if they stay only for a few seconds).

Its used for legendary items i believe so thats not a valid excuse if the devs used it.
If i have to see legendaries in WvW surely they decrease the framerate?

Currently its very easy to lose your commander in a crowd of names, I saw a guildie with this legendary effect and think this effect should be added to the commander tag only while in WvW.
I realised this was a useful extra since all of the players on the map were drawn to the light, throw that on a commander and you won’t lose him again when a 60 man mob run into your mob :P
Its a very small change but makes finding your guy much much easier.
I would then say add commander placed " waypoints " that let the commander light up marker on the field. “place an AC on the red marker” etc would make commanding much easier and faster.
The more tools a commander have the better we can do our jobs, markers like that are common in action based games like FPSs why not use them here? If the code is already ingame for the legendary why not give it to the commanders too? it wouldn’t be much of a change but would be a big improvement.
So they golem rushed garri at the start of reset? why is that a big deal? its a tactic we ourselves have used countless times now. We took it back fast anyway so whats the problem?
The rest of the conversation was about when we had sieged up garrison and lost it for most of the night. That was the only time it was a problem we lost garri since it was sieged with upgraded walls, taking a wooden garri isnt a big deal.

Sigh… i already told you..Garrison was not seiged up when the first golems hit..i was there with about 4-5 others thats all.Didn’t have the time the people or supplies to get that amount of stuff up.
I placed a lot of that siege myself so I know it was there, I came onto home maybe 15mins after reset had started.
The 1st time they attacked us involved no golems, they broke in the north west gate and ran around farming kills, we sieged the inner gates and kept them back for a while, I personally placed a guild catapult on the roof of garrison to cover the west gate, after a few shots AR withdrew and left. At this point the commander we were following had to go and eat so i tagged up for the rest of the event.
We repaired up and I asked for more siege to be made and trebs to be set up to attack bay while everyone else was to escort dollys into Garrison. The second time they attacked they came into the water gate, i was manning a treb attacking bay at the time and we didn’t realise they were there till inner was at 90%. Everyone came to garrison and defended, some thieves ninja repaired the outer water gate trapping the AR inside, we set up AC on the cliff and the ledges and forced a withdrawal after about 5 mins?.
Within 30 seconds they attacked the south east gate and had it down with 3 golems. After they got inside our wall upgrade kicked in but it was to late to keep them out for long.
By the time half of the water gate defenders had gotten back into garri they were on the inner north gate, i sat on the superior arrow carts at the vista asking everyone to man the siege but before anyone could get in place AR rushed in. They then spent the next while running around our walls killing anyone inside which allowed ranik to take the rest of our towers while we were stuck in garrison.
As for the siege they placed I can personally say this list is correct
4:26:13 -> 2 superior arrow carts + guild catapult + treb
4:28:00 -> 1 ballista + 2 (superior?) arrow carts
4:30:23 -> 2 arrow carts
4:30:30 -> 1 arrow cart at oil
4:30:35 -> 2 arrow carts
4:30:45 -> 1 arrow cart + guild catapult
4:32:04 -> 4+ arrow carts at watergate below
4:33:05 -> 1 superior arrow cart + 3 normal arrow carts +1 treb
4:38:45 -> 1 arrow cart + 1 ballista
4:39:08 -> 1 or 2 arrow carts
The guild catapults and trebs were played by myself, The superior was played by Celaritas and the rest was either placed during the first assault or at the watergate during the second

We simply didn’t have the numbers or enough players following orders to get on the siege at the time of the attack, and due to the prolonged attack from AR in which they were farming kills not trying to take garrison it allowed fort ranik to attack everything else we owned while garrison was getting camped.
Although you really didn’t need any golems to get the door down, you barely focused on attacking the door on purpose so we could get players into garrison for you to kill them
Was an interesting few hours anyway, UW guys stop complaining.
Yeah, and it’s ironic how RG decides to golem rush our garrison because why the hell not. The siege might actually drag on for a few minutes otherwise, and you need all the points you can get right?
If you use 15 AC don’t expect anything but golems.

4 or 5 north inner on lord room, 3 west inner, one or two on the wall close to water inner, one on oil, one on roof + some you had between outer/inner watergate that made us change to SE gate.
You golum rushed before the ac’s went up NOT because they were all ready built don’t talk so much crap,even then there was nothing like 15.
Thats not true, the AC was up before they came in, the siege we had was set up when they first attacked, the time they took it was much later and don’t say anyone is talking crap when you are yourself, I was commanding for 2 and a half hours on home last night and was there for both attacks tagged up.
Although they didn’t need golems to take our keep since they could PvD the gate down. They didn’t attack the gate they were farming kills, during the water gate attack i saw 20 players just standing there waiting for us to look out to be aoed down ha, the gate could have been killed much faster as only a few people were in garri when we found out about inner, i had tagged down and was leaving just before it happened then that happened.
Anyway impressive stuff RG, no need to boast about it though, its hardly an achievement winning with more players against less especially due to the rank difference

Sigh that wasn’t fun at all, Augury has some very organised guilds, commanding on UW home border for the last few hours was really stressful :P
camping our garrison without taking our land for 30mins so the other team could take our other towers wasn’t fun at all, not much that can be done about that, impressive though

You say that but UW is currently fighting a server 13 ranks higher, thats insane. Thats Vabbi fighting far shiverpeaks or gandara.
At most you should be fighting maybe… 5 ranks higher at the very most otherwise theres just a huge different between the teams.
Its a challenge for a reason, although you got one of the hardest ones to start with.
Keep in mind that other guilds are waiting for your challenge to end before they can start, if some challenges last 20+ minutes and you want to keep reseting yours because you fail a small guild could effectively force guilds who can do it to wait.
Im not sure how you failed it so fast with that much prep, did you not have a tanky guardian to hold the crab? and any support to keep him alive?

They should really give commanders a total number of supply in the area on the UI for players around them, text commands mid battle are useless

I made the suggestion of on a borderland if you are downed IN WATER you are instantly killed, my idea was that if water is made suddenly more lethal than any spot like the river outside bay or attacking the water gate at garrison becomes much more risky.
Terrain would basically be a factor of if you can win a fight, if you held your river bank and forced an enemy group into the water they would die much faster, if you could kill any reinforcements going to attack your water gate before they got out of the water they would have a much longer respawn than you would as a defender.
I also imagined other terrain bonuses, if you are higher than your target you have a slightly higher range, throwing a rock off a wall will go further than throwing it on flat ground after all so defenders would have a higher range than attackers making sieging a harder process if the enemy are organised.
Throw in that paths make you move faster and WvW becomes much more tactical
Do you use the paths to get to the enemy faster but take a predictable route? or do you take the slower route which will he harder to predict?
Do you ambush the enemy in the water aiming to stop them rezing or do you wait for them on land?

tbh I doubt i would use that trait instead of grenades, melee bombs for barely any damage? bombs should be a shorter cooldown maybe yes but not a trait, noone would use it
engineer probably has the most button clicks due to kit swapping

Denying players WvW because they aren’t level 80 is foolish when your stats get increased.
Actually if you knew anything about wvw you would know a level 1 who is near a guild wvw buff gets a higher bonus than a normal player, my level 1 elementalist had 2x a level 80 elementalists health because +40 vit and 10% Health bonus is much higher when you are at a low level.
The higher you go the less those buffs benefit you.Also I didn’t realise siege and supply running is really effected by your level.
At best a level 10 requirement for wvw is needed.
