I’m thinking it’s going to be an SBI/Maguuma fight. We’ve still got trolls dumping our supply and building trebs in useless places (no I don’t have a screenshot … yes it is happening … no I’m not blaming any ENTIRE SERVER POPULATION). Also, for some reason our BL is bugged again this week. I mean, we aren’t even red this week (which is really annoying the kitten out of me … we are so often red … I keep trying to kill blue yaks).

We were outnumbered on a couple maps most of the night and had a really low turnout. Them’s the breaks. Some good fights though. We learned some things about our builds and how to hopefully improve them. The best fights are the ones you learn from.

It was nice to see Mags sieging up with like 20 dudes in a tower to. Our little girl is growing up. Brings a tear to the eye, it does.

The only siege we built was a treb to take out garrison walls. Try taking a lesson from us and you may learn to not repeatedly wipe over and over. YBBL has been hilarious tonight, it shows how weak yak’s is when they don’t have upgraded towers, arrow carts, or a bugged BL to hide behind.

2 YB die to me 1v2 and ballista creep from SE Camp all the way toward EK so that they can walk Yaks. This is this matchup in a nutshell. Godawful players who try to handicap themselves with siege.

Moreover, Anet gives not one whit for class or meta balance in WvW, from the 1v1 level up to GvG. Heck, they can’t even balance sPVP. So its not exactly some great skill playing field. FPS is where you find that.

Spoken like someone that has absolutely no clue how open field fighting works. Oddly enough 15v15 leads to some of the most unique and balanced fights in the game.

I don’t know what YB’s ultimate goal is in this game. If they want to be a solid Tier 3 server then their playing style works. If they want to play against servers that can actually defend and respond to their structures, i.e. most T2 servers or higher, then they’re going to have to learn how to do something in the open field beyond roll over and die since everything they try to take will actually have resistance.

Well, since, like most rational offensive teams, you try to hit our keeps, when we’re not in them. You shouldn’t be surprised there aren’t too many there when you do succeed in taking them :P

You may want to consider Maguuma depending on what you’re interested in. Mag has a fair Oceanic population but not really any commanders on during that time, and we have one or two guilds that play around the late NA -> Oceanic window.

If you’re into PPT mag probably isn’t for you, but if you like farming some loot bags it’s a pretty solid place.

This matchup has taught me that if mag would have rolled silver league I probably would have transferred or left the game. Yak’s won’t fight open field and you have to breach a Garrison before you get a rez rush of terrible players. SBI just turns tail and runs from a 20 v 50. Here’s hoping Mag doesn’t downroll next week.

I don’t see why a mesmer would be running a condi build in large scale play. If your goal is to wade in the middle and proc burning on the frontline then you’re just going to get the condi ignored, shout-healed, or purging flamed off in under a second.

Glamour mes also died the day the confusion nerf hit. Any guild that still tries to run variants of it (like AVTR), can basically be ignored and rolled over on the battlefield.

You don’t have blink, you don’t have IP for on-demand invuln, you don’t have a stunbreak, all you have is this one util with a block that you plan to use offensively instead of defensively. Your build basically looks like rally bait against any coordinated zerg.

I feel like I’m clubbing kittens after playing in gold league. I have never seen as many half baked builds as I have on SBI roamers. I think my favorite so far is a thief that runs basi and haste and tries to backstab + 2 spam someone down then bail if it doesn’t work.

Does that mean you guys are shipping off PYRO and TG at some point? =S Apart from Abyss, I dunno if there’s even another guild on SBI that runs as deep as them.

Last night [PYRO] ran 25 most of the night. At one point around 3 AM last night, we invited all of [TG]’s 25ish to run our tag and ran as a megablob for 10 minutes or so.

Regardless, TOM seemed to be running at least 20, probably more earlier in the night, and DDLG had a good 15. Them triple engaging with KWBH and some pugs more than evened out our numbers.

25? Yep…definitely more than any SBI guild except Abyss, indeed. =P And apparently, WCS, HDA and AoN are chopped liver.

Abys ran much more than 25, but they would probably learn a lot by shedding the pubs and shrinking to that size. I have seen BEAST run that deep, and a lot of the SBI guild groups seem to tag up and run with pugs to build numbers which is kind of sad.

Most Mag guild groups are 5-20 players. I know Ark rarely runs over 20. PYRO and VR are about the largest groups you find. If you see a commander tag up it’s almost always going to be a pub door group.

Beside that, I’m seeing lots more open field siege built in fights than I ever saw from JQ, BG, SoR, TC, or SoS. It’s kind of a bad crutch, and it looks even worse when you still get wiped after using it.

Please do review your footage and figure out how your guild can become better standing on its own 2 feet. You called our guild tag out and I’m just stating facts. I did not once complain or ever mention being outnumbered. If we didn’t preform well last night and it took 3 SBI guild groups to beat us what does that say about your guild.

Why is it every match up thread SE needs to come in and complain about multiple guild groups being required to beat you guys in the open field. You guys literally run a 50 man guild group, and then you add in about 20 pugs. You’re not just one guild. You’re a map blob under one tag. I think you lost sight of the size of what a guild is supposed to be and forgot to understand there are other ways to get better than add more numbers.

For all the trash talk of who-beat-up-who on this thread there’s very little proof of it. Nice to see Ark blowing up SBI blobs while they rez rush. Funny that the YB footage wasn’t included in the video though, it’s probably not even worth showing.

After being in Gold League the quality of play down here is hilarious. I have seen more rangers in one night than I saw all 7 weeks of Gold.

I have to ask, why would a large maguuma zerg 30+ attack the north gate of hills in Kain bl. When they own nothing on the whole map, not a camp or tower. They know we were watching since they fought our camp first. What was the strategy, what was the plan or did you just decide Hey, They have not lost that all weekend why not give it a shot? In short, there is a subset of Maguuma players who decided not to contribute to WvW on Monday and are actively trying to disrupt communication. It now costs GEMS to transfer so I find this behavhior unethical. I hope this stops because it’s embarrasing.

We tried to warn you. We tried very, very hard to warn everyone. Can’t blame us that everyone thought we were joking.

To the people who think WvW belongs to them or Maguuma belongs to them, it doesn’t.

I think you’re over exaggerating. People are not spending 10 hours a day grinding out defense because they don’t enjoy doing it for 7 days straight. You’re OG Maguuma, so you should know we don’t do things if we stop enjoying them.

We learned and know how to stop FA’s siege from the first 3 days, so why should we repeat it for the last 4 if it’s clear how tedious it is? I’d rather we play for fun, and the score we get is the score we get. That means we’ll eventually be in a tier where we can have fun instead of grinding out borderlands defense for 10 hours a day.

Unfortunately some men you just cant reach so you get what we had here last night, which is the way they want, well their not gonna get it.

It seems this subset of players many of whom like to post and use terms such as “Most of Maguuna” or “We are used to loosing we did it for so very long” has control issues.

Any given server belongs to no single player or group of players exclusively. It belongs to all the players. Saying things like Mags likes to lose or Mags does not want to be in a certain tier is nothing short of an outright lie. You nor anyone else myself included can claim to speak for “Most” of the server and you all really should just stop it.

That you are calling WvW tedious leads me to believe some of you really are not having fun out there and like so many are fond of saying if you are not having fun then do not do it. As I pointed out before no one is forced to play a specific way or go after a specific objective. Although some courses of action just make sense. Anyway there was very specific examples of players actively discouraging others from giving it our all. To top it off and this is what really stinks is this subset of players really seems to like to tell others to leave their server. Or as a post somewhere above me, try to bribe others to leave. it really is reprehensible behaviour they have no right to try and force others off the server.

So as fun as I have playing WvW, I am going to have just as much fun convincing good players not to leave. I do not consider this subset I am talking about good players at all. That they are actually trying to force players to leave that are trying their hearts out to play the best they can for their server, shows that they know little about leadership, sportsmanship or morals.

lastly if you or anyone else is finding it tedious or grinding because you cant easily destroy our competition maybe it is not the others that should think about a server transfer maybe Kain is more to some players liking. It really seems like that is the problem here because for the last month we easily dominated the competition and there was none of this “tedious” or “grinding” talk. All in all for all the bluster I had seen in these forums and which convinced me that Mags was the server for me it really is just that BLUSTER. But that does not mean there is not great people on the server because there is many and i would gather a guess “Most” of them just want to play hard and have fun. When it gets tedious they will log off not try and force others to leave or to just give away what we won in battles so to drop a tier.

This is my last word on this particular subject as it seems some just dont get it anyway and they never will.

TL;DR: We all paid at least 60 bucks to play a video game and post on forums all day.

The irony is that we can field a consistent 10, and on good nights, 20, WvW players. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with being able to do that. It really isn’t FA’s problem that you can’t organize yourselves into fighting groups. So when you get overrun by a coordinated and dedicated group, you quickly cry out the Z word like you were asking for a fair fight in an open battlefield. It’s WvWvW, there are objectives. Our objective is to take camps, towers, keeps. We don’t really care that you were standing around killing a single guard. We’ll be running by and stomp you on the way. Wrong place, wrong time. Tears of QQ ‘zerg’ QQ won’t change our approach or attitude towards WvWvW. We play to win. Our determination will see us through. We’ll let the score board do the talking. Good that you actually want to try to beat the T1-2 ‘gods’. We’re still working on trying to retrain the MASSIVE amount of transfers/ pubbies to understand the way maguuma works so it’s prolly going to take us a month or so to break them in. Does DB really wait until FA is on inner at Mag Bay? This will change how FA operates. We’ve been assuming that DB is just trying to take us down. (It’s a bit strange watching 3 roaming bands of DB with 5-15 members hover around FA’s area on Maguuma’s BL when DB doesn’t even own hills).

If you guys are really trying to take hills what you WANT to do is attack Maguuma as much as possible so we can focus on them as well. Taking their Northeast Supply, trebbing that South Hills gate. Ramming the Northwest Hills gate (thereby opening the walls to be cleared on the south, and securing a nice open flow of troops to inner Hills). There are a lot of things you can do that would get you points, and also make Maguuma lose points at the same time.

The reason why Bay takes FA so long every night is because DB is NOT attacking hills in force, Maguuma barely has to worry about it.

The difference between Mag’s zerg and Yak’s zerg is that Maguuma built a community based on discipline, coordination and skill PRIOR to having superior numbers. Yaks has actively recruited anyone that will transfer since transfers existed.

Maguuma is the one and only server to not actively recruit and have instead built a community that revolves around talent and have pulled in transfers because people want a high quality WVW experience. Every other server in every other tier has no quality control and just wants numbers.

That’s what separates Maguuma from literally every other server in the game. Yeah we have superior numbers now but we got them from in game skill, not forum hording players.

See this is funny because I’ve been on many servers and played WvW and got involved with their community if I can. And Yak’s Bend has the best community, tactics, and cooperation I’ve seen on any of them. To be fair though I’ve never played on Maguuma. On IoJ currently and guild is considering a transfer and I’m trying to talk them into Yak’s, Sadly some people want to bandwagon onto either Maguuma or Kaineng and I refuse to go to those servers so I might lose my guild.

Tell them not to go to Maguuma, I hear they’re real jerks.

Hows that work? does the first ram just create a domino effect on the rest of the rams and knock people back into the door they are trying to get out? If you really think you have skill, use that domino chain of rams to nail some wood over that gate so we run into it as we come out the other side.

Perhaps if you are all a bit nicer, we can cut a hole about 1/3 the way up with a key hole saw and get another glorious line started from the base of the hole back.

Although it might not be an exploit it’s pretty ridiculous to have someone up there stopping the cap of the supply if you can’t get there easily. Gonna have to go back there tomorrow and figure out this Jumping Puzzle. Is there a Chest at the end btw? haha.
