It would suck for them to disappear, especially if you spend gold or real money to buy gems to purchase keys to open the chests.
I do not agree with the WoW style LFD at all. It sucked and brought out the worst in people’s personalities.
I do think it would be nice to have a tab where you could mark yourself LFG. Before you say we already have that, make it more specific and detailed. I open the tab and I can mark myself as looking for group for pve in such and such zone or I am LFG for TA explorable. Other people from the same server can see who all is LFG for which specific things and form their groups. They don’t have to be in that zone or in LA to spam chat or see the tab. Make it so it worked in wvw too. Much more fun to be in a group in wvw than solo!
Just don’t add the anonymous make a group and throw you immediately in the dungeon garbage that WoW has. Make it more community friendly!
I agree. Since the badges are in the loot bags, I hate missing out! I don’t care about any other loot in wvw, just the badges. I have died with a bag of loot lying right over there. I am sure I have missed numerous bags while fighting zerg vs. zerg. Just make the badges go straight into inventory!
I come from games where the community was what made the game the most fun. In DAoC you couldn’t see the name of your enemy in RvR but you could recognize them by the colors they wore and the guild emblem on their cloak. Also, it gave out death spam to the whole area when someone was killed – “Soandso was just killed by Susie”. This was awesome and I miss it.
My husband wanted to run dungeons in GW2 and was having a hard time finding PUGs so I went to LA and watched the chat for awhile until I saw some guild recruitment message that looked promising. I sent a message and we joined the guild. We have been happy with people to talk to in guild chat and vent and do wvw and dungeons with.
I have had good luck talking to people doing jump puzzles. Several times this has turned into helping each other and sharing where the next puzzle is and going to do that one together.
Also in DAoC, they had the Camelot Herald. This told you the scores for the week, had a breakdown of classes (professions) hierarchy for the week and overall. It made for some good rivalry against your opponents and competition among your peers.
So, to sum up, some of the social aspect is on ourselves as players. We have to make a community for ourselves. But some of it should be up to Anet. Server forums would be great and would also help people find guilds on their home server instead of trying to go through the mess that is the guild forum. Hopefully free transfers will stop and people will be more “bound” to their server and begin to feel some loyalty to the server they call home.
Then if you join with a team of 5 but there isn’t another team of 5 to play then it should come up and say “Uneven match, do you want to stay queued until an even match can be made or need 2 volunteers to join the other team.” Problem solved.
It would be fun to be able to do Keg Brawl as guild vs. guild or even have a guild night Keg Brawl. As it stands now though, you can’t join a game with one friend let alone a group.
My husband and I tried all morning to get on the same team. Several games we were placed on opposing teams and several times we weren’t even in the same game. We never managed to get on the same team.
Please make it so you can join as a group or at least if you are grouped with even one other person, you get in the same game and on the same team. It would be so much more fun to be able to coordinate and actually play offense and defense. As it stands now, at least the games I have been in, there has been no coordinated play, no assists, no offense, no defense; just people running around randomly trying to be the one who scores with the keg.
Hopefully they will add more mini games to towns. Player housing would also be awesome!
Neverwinter Nights did this as well. It was cool and I would like it. Differentiates my characters and helps create their personalities.
