Serious serious problem.
I’m not sure why there isn’t more outcry on these forums or the WvW forum.
Its the single biggest problem right now. and might kill the game.
Every single WvW is a fight between 5 visible allies, 5 visible enemies, and 50 invisible ones.
Yeah this is the one thing that is turning me away from WvW pvp right now. WvW pvp is why I wanted this game, so it is really affecting my opinion of this game in a negative way.
They did acknowledge and gave reasons for the way this is working so that is a good sign. Taking months to fix wont be a good thing though.
Well stabbing and slashing something with sharp metallic objects usually leads to bleeding… so its only natural to include it on the same action. That is all i am going to say.
Yeah I don’t see the point of getting to max level as fast as possible, especially in a NEW game. Every time I about to leave into the “wilderness” some npcs start having a conversation and I just have to stop to listen to them.
In major cities I keep coming across all sort of different “events” like these and I haven’t even visited the other 4 major cities.
P.S. I also love reading the books and scrolls found everywhere! (yep some people still read)

I’m sure it has been said thousands of times already. Simply swap the Outmanned buff with the Orb buff.
Holding orbs still have meaning and rewards. The servers that are outmanned can actually get a buff that will help with the issue at hand.
This is the obvious solution to the orb fiasco. Getting such a massive buff because some server is in the timezone that cannot defend their borderlands is pretty stupid.
Also the ranking system does not reflect the reality of what is going in each server.
I never get to see if he moves because he dies 1.5-2 seconds after I cast the spell… I sigh every time.
Anything that spins to win is usually a safe choice (war, thf)
I said it once and I will say it again, this is NCsoft influence (bad drop rates and big penalites). Please look at the lower right corner at the bottom of this screen. NCsoft philosophy is more grind = players spend more time playing and spending their money. The cash shop will eventually evolve into P2W (this is happening in Aions next big patch in October and I fear it might spill over to this game eventually).
The best fix for night capping is to make the earth flat! Get on it Arenanet!
My biggest disappointment with the world vs world system is the amount of obnoxious aoe everywhere. You have carts, catapults, canon, and profession aoes constantly. Aoe, Aoe, Aoe, Aoe… over and over again. Then you have thieves and warriors spinning to win, which is another aoe.
The sad thing is how these sort of things happened in other games, yet Anet repeats them here… I am utterly uninterested in world vs world atm. The central reason i bought this game. This stupid aoes need a longer cooldown on pvp or something, so people can actually fight in an interesting matter.
Hmm this smells like NCsoft game design to me. When I read this Aion’s horrible loot drop percents immediately came to mind. Nobody like them in that game either (and everyone still complains about it today).
This is the one thing that is really vexing me in this game, to the point that I just want to stop and never look back. I really hate when I am doing PvP activities and died because I didn’t realize I was surrounded by enemy players. Oh sure once I am in the down state the game decides to show them to me. This is a very bad design for a PvP game! Not being able to see all your enemies is crippling to game play.
The thing is:
1- In pvp I would much rather the client prioritize showing me enemies instead of allies. AT the very least show me their names! I don’t need to see their armor and bodies. If I have 100 hostiles in front of me I need to see THEM and not my allies. I can see the presence of my allies via the mini-map just fine. Enemies presence however is as mysterious as the Mists! How can I pvp if I don’t see them?
2- Your parent company NCsoft has this game called Aion which is known for its zergy combat. The game has this really nice feature where you press Shift+F12 and all enemy and friendly players avatars stop showing in your screen, BUT YOU CAN STILL SEE THEIR NAMES floating in the air and you can target them. This little features makes a world of difference in performance during heavy zerg encounters. Sure the game wont look like a beautiful epic battle, but I can play it! I can react to what is going on around me without seeing if the person attacking me is female/male asura/norn/etc.
Also the client will turn some players into silhouettes when it could not render everyone in the screen (if you didn’t shift+f12).
Perhaps you can include some of these features in a future patch? My computer is not top of the line, but is not a toaster oven either. Its a good gaming computer. With medium settings it should be able to handle this game wonderfully expect for the most massive of zergs (in which case having something liek the shift +f12 would suffice for enjoyable gameplay).
P.S. I played the game in my brothers computer, which is a top gaming desktop that he bought for this game and even though he has smooth fps all the time the enemies still don’t show until his dead.
I would like to know also, since there are single minded people that only speaks the language that they want in the /map chat, ruining game experience for others that don’t understand the language. I’s also considered not polite.
Excuse me, but how are they ruining your experience? This doesn’t make sense unless you are hyper sensitive about… something. If I see a language I dont understand in chat I simply ignore (not block) that sentence. How hard can that be? Also stop the not being polite nonsense. They like to write in their native language just as much as you do. You are over thinking it to much, since that person probably doesn’t even know you are there.
Around where I live just walking down the street I constantly hear people talking in languages I dont understand, it doesn’t bother me (well expect for the urge to learn their language so that I can understand them) or do I consider them rude.
