Some cleric geared ele giving you trouble? Use berserker gear.
Some bunker guard out there just wont die? Use berserker.
Some thief killing you in seconds? Use berserker and get the jump on him first!
..and if you get killed from AOE, just come to the forums and cry til they nerf AOE.

For me it’s kinda the opposite, why do people buy berserker gear?
Being that squishy is not good in my opinion. But I prefer survivability over damage in almost every game.
I wonder tho, VCY – Why did you come to tier 8 ? You guys have fought with Red Guard, what brings you to a low bracket like this ?
Multiple reasons. Crazy queue time since they opened up free transfers for a few days. Unbearable skill lag. 100man+ blobs running around etc. Wvw wasn’t fun anymore.
I’m having an awesome time here. I almost forgot how much fun wvw used to be.
I want to thank everyone, I’ve had some great fun in wvw with this matchup, until recently.

It was a nice weekend of unique one time events there. I really enjoyed that.
But I have to admit I’ve barely visited the zone since then. Not much to do there now.
I really hope they will add some more content to that zone later on though. That’d be awesome.

I believe there are two reasons for this.
First of all, VZ is a french server while SFR is an english server.
Second, if they open up free server transfers for a few days, a lot of players will obviously change server now when they get their chance.
About that, not to flame or anything, but do you have any idea what [VcY] was doing for the first part of the evening ?
They were running like headless chickens everytime they spotted a red tag … running between the north camp and the eastern tower, only to find some red tags at each end. And then run backwards. Repeat.

You meant several things, great, i don’t really care about the second part of your post, I only reacted about the first part. And again, the lag is for everyone, not only for you.
First of all, that is not a correct quote. I also did not complain about the skill lag, I simply discribed the situation from my point of view. Once again, what I was complaining about was the way Deso and Vizunah behaved.
Another important note that you edited out in your quote, that greatly contributed to the experience being awful was “Deso guarding entrance to let VZ capture.”.

I wasn’t actually complaining about the servers who can’t handle the large fights, or the skill lag that it creates. I was basically complaining about the players creating it.
Who keeps telling you stories about how SFR got so strong because of “bandwagon” guilds. Since the free transfers we got bandwagon guilds, its making us anything but strong
I feel sorry for you.
SFR has been a strong server since launch. We lost some important guilds but we also gained some new ones.
I can imagine old SFR players feeling a bit sick now when ANet opened up free transfers to SFR while we were number one. Infinite queues, skill lag (not thanks to free transfer, but still), clueless pugs etc.
So unfortunately, we’re starting to grow weaker now. But as always, I’m sure we’ll recover soon enough.

I would love that. But unfortunately knight is power/vita/prec in spvp for some reason
It’s same here, I’m only playing bunker when I play spvp just because of that.
I think gw2 got much better combat system. Much more skills involved. In wow you dodge by luck, while in gw2 you dodge with skills. You can move around while casting spells etc.
Vayne.8563 got many nice points in his posts.
One thing I find very weird about wow is this: If you are better in pvp, you get better gear. That’s like wtf? Why would you need better gear if you already are the better player. I think the way gw2 works here is much much better.
Just a friendly question, VoTF left SFR because they were tired of fighting Vizunah, if I recall. Is that correct?

I’m also amazed you can count so quickly to see if the numbers are the same.
Another issue is the bags, we where told the appearance of the bag represented the quality of loot inside well iv had small chests full of trash loot more times than id like to count.
The dolyaks sometimes drop a wooden chest with nothing or some crap inside it, and 5 supplies. If you have 11-15 supplies, it will decrease to 10 though.
Other than that, I can’t recall getting trash loot from chests.
Imagine for a moment, that you’re shopping and come across a newly installed candy machine. You dig into your pockets and find a quarter which you promptly place in the coin slot. You turn the handle, and the delicious candy starts to flow from the spout.
Red ones, green ones, yellow ones…your hands start to fill up with all the wonderful colors and your mouth starts to water. After a few seconds, you start to think, “Wow, this is a great value!”
You place the fists full of candy into your pocket, and walk away with a giant grin on your face.
A few moments later two security guards grab you and escort you to the door. They explain that you didn’t use the candy machine as intended, and because you took more candy than you should have, you are now banned from the mall for life.
Is this fair?
That’s a bad example. Nothing like abusing an exploit ingame.
It’s probably more like this:
You put the quarter into the machine and you get one piece of candy. But you heard from another guy that you can get four pieces of candy if you kick the machine just as you turn the handle.
Still a bad example but it’s more similar to the most common ingame exploits.
I’m not an expert at exploits but I remember something about karma weapons selling extremely cheap. I know ANet didn’t ban people who just bought one set of weapons for their character. They did however ban people who bought hundreds of weapons and salvaged / threw into MF etc..
The people who exploited that bug knew the weapons weren’t supposed to be sold for 40 karma each, instead of 4k. (I can’t remember the exact numbers but it was something similar if I recall)
I believe they ban people for using offensive language in game a bit too easy though.
And well, you can’t compare real life scenarios to ingame ones.
Actually, if I, in real life, saw a machine behave that way, I wouldn’t keep putting quarters into it, because it would be like stealing from that company. Instead I’d report it to the shop owner, or whoever was around. I’d probably keep the candy I did get out of it, but I wouldn’t keep exploiting it.
If a cashier gives me too much change in a shop, I let them know and give it back.
An exploit is an exploit, even in real life. It doesn’t matter if I can get away with it. What matters to me is if it’s the right thing to do.
I’m using a Logitech g400. And I like it a lot. Only two extra buttons though, but I think it’s enough for gw2. We don’t really need that many binds anyway.
I think it’s awesome to have dodge roll on the mouse. I’d also love to have “interrupt spell casting”. But I couldn’t find anything like that.
But yeah, great mouse, and rather cheap as well.
I’m sure it would work. All your other heals will be stronger as well. Just be careful not to run with too low toughness. If you use too many magi parts.
Warriors nerfed into the ground? No. Guards stuck in low dps high support? No.
Only bad thing about warrior is as mentioned, no good for sPvP/WvW. As of recent patch, warriors are a bit better at support thru banners. Guards still much better at support, nothing changed there, while still having good dps thru builds and/or gear, though warrior burst is still nice.
I heard warriors are a bit bad for spvp, especially bunker warriors. But they’re certainly not bad for wvw. 100b warrior, possibly. But they should try to use hammer instead.

Being a good wvw player, or teamplayer in other games for that matter, does not have to mean they’re the best player in 1v1. Same but opposite goes for solo players.
Also, correct me if I’m wrong. But 1v1 isn’t totally balanced in this game, is it?
Edit: Don’t get me wrong. I’ve seen a few videos with Jackie and I respect him for being a good player.
Lot of numbers flying around. The reality is that last night Jackie turned off commader throughout the whole night to stop pugs following us. As a result most of the night, VoTF ran with an average of 25 people – which would have been higher but queue issues + between 3-6 adds varying as the night went on. Rarely this was higher, but it did occasionally happen, and sometimes another guild led raid got into the same fight as us, but again, not often.
No offense but could you please stop this. Nothing good can possibly come from this.
I’m not accusing you of zerging 24/7 but I can’t really understand where the “average of 25 people” come from.
Whole night yesterday we saw a massive blob of GoD, VoTF, GH, Bull and a few more guilds. It wasn’t exactly on rare occasions either.
Once again, not accusing anyone of anything. But I’d say it’s better to just admit you’re blobbing up now and then. Let’s just face it. Every server and every guild blob up now and then, whether we like it or not. Including SFR and VcY.
Are you trying to say that the best guild can trash other guilds? They don’t respect enemies at all, they don’t even respect their own community (BT, PS). Besides they are arrogant. I wonder how big is Sacrx/Cyril ego?

There are quite a lot of guilds who act like they’re the greatest.
I’m not saying RG are but in my opinion, they have the right to say they’re the best.
It’s not okey to trakittenalk other guild though. But as far as I’ve seen, they haven’t done that.

The warrior class isn’t weak. The GS spec is weak for wvw. You should try to run with hammer and perhaps axe offhand as second weapon.
I don’t see why people say rangers are so weak in wvw. Sure, it isn’t the strongest class but it is still very useful. A few good rangers in your zerg and it’ll be deadly as never before.
The root ultimate is the most annoying thing ever for example. Muddy terrain is also awesome. Quickness stomp. etc.
How many time a random order merchants when it’s not a good opportunity/necessary…

It’s possible yes but not very likely imo.
I’ve seen bunny ears, boxing gloves, shades, and the mad king costume in WvW before (on my teammate though). And you are definitely able to wear your town clothes. For those talking about not being able to know what the class is, learn to identify armor, weapons, and signets. I’ve yet to have a problem knowing what class a certain player is without targeting or glancing at them. Thieves are the easiest because a good majority uses the passive speed boost.
I’d say elementalist is the easiest one, due to their attunement. Guardians with their virtues in second place.
Engineers can also swap into town clothes and then equip a kit. You’ll be able to fight with the town clothes until you swap back to your regular weapon then.
