I’d just like to see the stack count text in black, so I don’t need to put my face up next to the screen to see if I have 6 stacks or 8 stacks or 16 stacks of might with the white text on the white/yellow backgroun

For those of you who have not tried this yet, FIX THAT!
This mini-game is kittening awesome!
It’s a great way to learn the core combat mechanics of gw2.
I hope we’ll see more of these cleverly designed mini-games in the future! (perhaps in halloween event?)
P.S. You can find this in the norn starting area in the frozen lake
Spirit of Faith [HOPE] – RIP
I solo a lot of my gameplay as well…that’s not the point. I should not be penalized just because there are a lot of people doing a DE. The game should scale the DE better. That’s the point.
Spirit of Faith [HOPE] – RIP
Right now, besides getting points towards your title and some worthless pvp items, there are no real rewards for sPvP.
In gw1, random arenas gave monetary rewards in the form of zkeys and gladiator strongboxes.
Currently in gw2 there is no way to make gold doing sPvP, which is a crying shame. I would love to play more sPvP but I feel like I’m taking too much time out of farming to do so.
All that would need to be changed is giving, say, giving some silver in the reward boxes every time you reach a new level, or to have items in the box that can be traded on the tp.

Nah just give us a mystic forge recipe to upgrade the basic into the fine. problem solved

It does. Run around Orr and you hear every character yell out “For Great Justice” instead of “Yarr!”
I want pirate!
Spirit of Faith [HOPE] – RIP
yea the healing things a drag, i park my guardian for jormag, 2nd half i see people dropping like flies all around me, knowing full well i could heal the crap out of that whole area, i dont, i continue to dps because arenanet chose damage = loot / heals = nada
ot anyone complaining about not tagging fast enough in zergs needs to uninstall and move along or learn to play without being a lemming
Um have you ever played in Orr? What class do you play? Go try tagging some mobs in the really populated events (plinx etc.). You need to hit them twice to receive any loot. Most of the time it’s difficult/near impossible to hit them even once.
Spirit of Faith [HOPE] – RIP
This isn’t about the auto-loot option. This is about the fact that, unless you somehow manage to get 2 hits off on a mob before it dies, then you get no drops, and auto-looting makes no difference…
also dropping heals does not give you any loot, meaning if you’ve built a support-heavy build you’re going to get 0 rewards

So one of the amazing things I like about gw2 is that any build with any class is a viable build (with the exception of spvp). This is extremely difficult to achieve in most games, where one class typically is a lot better/has the necessary skills to accomplish a certain task (think back to monks/sins in gw1).
That being said, dynamic events in gw2, due to the poor scaling and the issue of ‘tagging’ mobs, promote classism.
You have several threads asking “what is the best class for tagging mobs” “what is the best build/weapon for tagging mobs” etc.
I really hope they will fix this issue in upcoming patches. All they really need to do is scale up the hp of ‘trash’ mobs in DEs so everyone gets a chance to ‘tag’ mobs, regardless of their class/build.
I’m really tired of trying to time my skills so that I hit mobs right as they appear/lose their ‘invulnerability,’ or dropping all my aoe on a spawn point and only getting credit for 1 kill.

You MAY need to find the same vendor, but I have never tested. I think if you logged out though you may be kitten’d

Almost 7000 hours on gw1.

Spirit of Faith [HOPE] – RIP
People are confused. What they did in ‘removing’ the ‘holy trinity’ is that they made every class viable for any role. You wanna play a tank ele? you can. You wanna play a healing/support ele? You can. You wanna play a glass cannon ele? you can. No class has any defined role.
Every class is viable in any role. That is the beauty of gw2. You don’t need to spend days leveling a ‘healer’ or a ‘tank’ because your guild needs one. You just need to respec your current character.Except that a guardian of any spec is a better tank then even a mace/shield defense spec warrior, so I don’t really see the point of specializing your ele into defense because you probably won’t be preferred to tank if a guardian is there. And since guardians are designed to be the class for support-oriented players, they’re way ahead at that role without even trying. (I don’t mean to rant against guardians, they just happen to be way ahead in two roles.) If the design is that everyone should be able to do everything, logic suggests that they would be in a huge hurry to fix what would be an imbalance big like the world.
You would be surprised how well a tank spec’d ele can do. It’s on par if not better than a guardian tank.

The mouse itself works fine. None of the keybinds for the extra 10 or so buttons work
Have you tried using any of the extra buttons on your mouse?
I’ve tried binding them to A-Z, 0-9, Home, End, Pg Up Pg Dwn nothing works

Hey guys,
I have a steelseries world of warcraft gaming mouse and I can’t get it to work at all when I play guild wars. The ‘regular’ mouse functions (right/left click, scroll wheel) work fine, but any of the other buttons don’t work at all. This problem is exclusive to guild wars 2. I’ve tried changing the keybinds for the extra mouse buttons and nothing works. Moreover, keybinds that work for other programs (eg. binding push-to-talk to one of the buttons) stop working as soon as gw2 starts running.
Is it possible that the game is preventing my steelseries program from running?
Has anyone else gotten a gaming mouse to work in-game?
I submitted a support ticket but got no answer
Cheers

Every monster attack has a hit box. By moving behind monsters you can avoid most melee attacks. Very important for playing melee role. Just be aware that some monster melee attacks also hit the area around the monster and this may not be immediately obvious from the animation.

Doing the Dark reverie jumping puzzle. For those of you who don’t know, this jumping puzzle requires you to complete another jumping puzzle to reach it. Then when you get there, the zone is filled with veteran mobs. On top of that, there is this one jump near the end that is really, really hard to get. Needless to say, I fell to my death the first time i tried. Frustrated and trying to decide if I wanted to try again or not, to my luck a group of people showed up and resed me
One of the players had already done this puzzle before, so he, Mr. helpful (not his real ign) stayed below, soloing veteran mobs while the rest of us tried and tried again. Second time around I went first on the tough jump, fell, and then lmao’d when one after another bodies came raining down from the sky. But thankfully for all of us, M.r Helpful was still there to get us back up After another 5-6 tries, and another 5-6 reses by Mr. helpful, I finally made the jump and got my achievement. I sent Mr. Helpful 1g for resing my kitten so many times

No, it’s still more rewarding to farm high level zones because the drops are better. The idea is that it’s (potentially) as rewarding to play in lower-level areas.
Spirit of Faith [HOPE] – RIP
The world of Guild Wars 2 is so huge and so beautiful. I am constantly amazed by the artful design and incredible detail the designers have put into every area.
It’s really sad that once you hit level 80, you only visit 2 areas.
Spirit of Faith [HOPE] – RIP
Make every DE chain, regardless of location, have a chance (a small chance) of dropping a legendary precursor.
There you go. 2 birds, one stone.
Edit: chance is applied to level 80 characters only.
People will leave cursed shore to farm lower level area DEs for that small chance of getting the precursor they want.
Simultaneously, the sky-rocketing price of precursors will come down.
Spirit of Faith [HOPE] – RIP
(edited by Quick Mouse.7635)
At this point, anything they can do to encourage players to farm anywhere but cursed shore would be a massive improvement to everyone’s gameplay experience. The world is so huge and so beautiful, it’s sad that once you hit 80 you only visit 2 zones.

Request Sticky!
Spirit of Faith [HOPE] – RIP
I really like most of these, except for the orichalcum nodes in lower level areas. They should be kept rare.
I completely agree with better rewards for doing DEs in lower level areas, since this would provide some motivation for players to play in areas other than Orr.
Completely agree with guaranteed rare from dungeons. 100%.
Improved LFG feature is absolutely necessary.
The “going out in style” mechanic I think is a great idea.
Spirit of Faith [HOPE] – RIP
Easy solution: For any of the world DE chains, make a final reward chest where the reward is based on the player level opening the chest. This way there isnt as big of an incentive for lvl 80 chars to only farm the high level areas.

what I didnt like about the wolf is that it has 30sec uptime on a (3min?) cooldown. Sadface.
Spirit of Faith [HOPE] – RIP
So, one really annoying thing in gw2 is that when I’m looking for more people to play a specific dungeon path, I am almost instantly suppressed due to excessive messaging. This is after maybe 4-5 posts of “glf x more for … path …”
This is rediculous. Each player in my team as to take turns asking for more people in map chat until they too get suppressed.
An easy fix would be simple: Make “lfg” it’s own chat channel. Have very low restrictions on how often people can post in this chat -or- have peoples posts sitting in the chat for a long time. This way someone just entering a zone can immediately check to see what’s going on.
Spirit of Faith [HOPE] – RIP
It’s an interesting idea, but it would be way to easy to create a bot to do this. On this factor alone I would say no. Mining nodes is basically fishing anyway
Spirit of Faith [HOPE] – RIP
I started another thread about this, but I think a great idea would be to:
MAKE LEGENDARIES ACCOUNT BOUND
This way I feel like I’m getting a bigger benefit out of getting one, since I can show off my kitten with other characters.
Especially if/when I get bored of playing the character with the legendary on it, I can switch it to my new character
Spirit of Faith [HOPE] – RIP
They also have a ‘field of vision’, so you can sneak by mobs by running behind them
Spirit of Faith [HOPE] – RIP
Here’s a suggestion for the Devs:
With the rediculous requirements for legendaries, people need something to work towards in the meantime, some sort of intermediate reward.
Suggestion: bring back emotes.
This was a major driving force (for me at least) for playing so much HA back in the day.
Moreover, give the pve peoples some emotes. They need some way to show off their kittens too
Spirit of Faith [HOPE] – RIP
Hi guys,
So I’ve been thinking about lvl 80 builds for a bunch of my characters and am constantly disappointed by the lack of diversity in armor stats I can craft/acquire.
Given that you only get 3 stats on armor/weapons, being able to min/max stats for maximum build effectiveness seems to be a big problem.
For example, I wanted to make a tanky/condition build ele (since I keep getting destroyed in dungeons). Is there any cond/toughness/vitality armor? Nope.
I wanted to make a high vitality, power and precision guardian. In pvp? Fine, use Knight’s armor. Knights armor in pve? power, precision, TOUGHNESS…. Where did all my vitality go?
Moreover, any armor with Healing power on it is essentially useless since Healing power scales so, so, so horribly.
What are your thoughts on the matter?
Spirit of Faith [HOPE] – RIP
As I work my way to getting a legendary item, and I realized just how long this will take, I want to make a suggestion to the Devs:
Make Legendary Items Account Bound.
So when I get a legendary I can show it off on more than one character

If you’re running staff ele I would strongly suggest investing at least 20 points into arcana for the larger aoe and boons on attunement (don’t forget they apply to allies as well). After that it’s really up to your personal preference. Decide if you like glyphs, signets, or cantrips best. Each trait line can give significant bonuses to anyone of those skill types. I personally like 20 in air for the higher cc, cd, and for the quick glyphs and INscription traits (glyphs give you boons). If you’re going to be doing a lot of dungeons I would strongly suggest putting at least 15 in water for the aoe heal/condition removal. Gl and hf!
P.S. Feel free to p.m. me in-game if you have more questions. I have been playing ele since beta
Spirit of Faith [HOPE] – RIP
(edited by Quick Mouse.7635)
Investing 20 points into arcana is totally worth it if you are playing a staff ele (for the larger aoe, fury and boons on attunement). I also really like the air master trait Inscription. Use the glyph of elemental storms and the elemental summons. So many boons. Also pay careful attention to the damage delay on a lot of the skills. Damage is calculated at the point it is applied, so swapping attunements just before they hit for the fury bonus is huge. In general with staff I use the following combination: earth→2, 4 => water→2,4 => fire→2 then I use arcane wave for the fire combo field. If you time it properly, all your damage will hit at approximately the same time, at which point you will have at least 4 stacks of might + fury (you can get up to 8 stacks of might with this build, 9 if they ever fix Glyph of Elementals (elite)). Who says eles dont have burst damage lol?
Spirit of Faith [HOPE] – RIP
Completely agree. Everyone has a away to avoid/interrupt the first stomp except elementalists. You have to pray that your opponent has a minor ceisure and is unable to press the stomp button for ~3seconds, otherwise guaranteed that you’re dead. I really like the idea of making number 2 a knockdown (idc if it did 0 damage) and would put the ele downed state on par with everyone else’s. Side note: I love how they took away the thief downed skills from beta and gave them to mesmers, now everyone complains about downed mesmers lol

wheres the delete entry button
Spirit of Faith [HOPE] – RIP
Scepter skill ‘Phoenix’ is only giving 5 seconds of Vigor with 30 points in arcana, instead of the 13s it should be giving.
Spirit of Faith [HOPE] – RIP
(edited by Quick Mouse.7635)
Trait skill Inscription (grants boon when casting glyph) does not work with Glyph of Elementals (elite). Hopefully this gets fixed like they did with Quick Glyphs,

That’s the actual in-game text. Just ?
Anyone else have this since the Oct 1 patch?
Spirit of Faith [HOPE] – RIP
TLDR: Give adds more health, give bosses more abilities.
Spirit of Faith [HOPE] – RIP
Here are my 2 biggest problems with dynamic events, especially related to the Cursed Shore. Since this is the one and only lvl 80 area, it is essentially the only place (besides dungeons) for lvl 80 characters to farm end-game items.
1. Trash mobs don’t scale with the number of people in the area. This is actually a big problem because when you have ~40 people doing a DE, the trash mobs melt almost as soon as their health bars appear, leaving only the veteran/champion left to get mown down by said 40 people. This is bad for two reason: 1) You can never do enough damage to get any drops off the trash mobs, and veterans never drop anything. 2) The trash mobs don’t add any difficulty to the dynamic events, which end up being just targetboss-smashkeyboard events.
This can be fixed in one of two ways: 1) scale the health of the adds so that everyone can get at least enough damage in to get credit for a kill. 2) Increase the drop rate from veterans/champions. There’s nothing like stumbling upon a champ, taking him down and getting literally nothing for it.
2. The champions/bosses have very few unique abilities, meaning that DEs are basically just dps fests. A lot of the time im just sitting there at point A spamming 12345 waiting until I have to run to point B so i can spam 12345 there.
To fix this, give them more abilities with visible animations, more powerful adds with unique abilities. Make the dynamic events feel more “dynamic”. I want to see an entire group of 80 people wipe on a dragon because they forgot to dodge it’s breath wave. I want to see a group of 40 people farming Plix wipe because they didn’t manage to distract the veteran while the rest of the team nuked the trash mobs.
That being said, I have to say I love this game. If they just added greater difficulty at the higher level and added more level 80 areas, I might like this game as much as I loved Gw1. Feel free to add your own critiques/suggestions below (no rage fest).

I had the same issue. destroyed all objectives, cleared the beach (every thing is ‘check marked’), nothing happens

hahaha awesome
Spirit of Faith [HOPE] – RIP
Well, I got Forging the Pact to work, but now the next quest (Tower Down) is also bugged in a similar way. Although I have bombed all 3 locations and cleared the beach of undead, no more progression is occuring and some of the npcs no longer follow.
