Im pretty sure Anet can decide what the flaws would be in suggestions themselves. They do have alot of experience in developing. I think they are quite capable of that much. They don’t need armchair developers telling them or the suggester that its a bad idea.

Well the topics could be sorted manually via a sort button that allows you to see the topics that have the most likes Jrunyon.

Of course Dev’s and Moderators could post on said topics at will and so could the OP.

Another Idea would be to let the Topic poster decide if they want replies or not when posting said topic.

Or at least a rule stating don’t post in a topic if you don’t agree with it, then more infractions could occur and the trash repliers get weeded out.

It has come to my attention that there are alot of people posting on other peoples threads just to argue or completely trash peoples ideas. Criticism is good BUT when im reading into peoples forum posts under their account names and they have nothing but trashing peoples suggestions, we know its gotten out of hand. My suggestion for the suggestion forum is to not allow other people to reply on anyone’s suggestion topics. Just let the +1 button do all the work to see how much its liked. We don’t need a ton of peoples input on a specific topic. We just need to know if it is liked. The more +1s the more its liked, not very many +1s then its not liked much. Simple, easy, no one gets offended, all the suggestions you can handle, less trash replies, and less forum infractions resulting in less forum bans.

Slien when I said range is in ranger I was making a pun. Im not an idiot and don’t portray me as such. This isn’t CNN and your not Piers Morgan. And the ranger in any fantasy MMO, Roleplay, etc. has always been a primarily ranged. Yes they focus also on melee but that need is normally rare. Seriously people if you don’t agree with a suggestion about class changes don’t post in it. You forum lifers are making it to where a ton of people don’t want to post new ideas because you guys and gals immediately tell every person who posts something that they are crazy for even thinking that. There’s a +1 for a reason and there is not a -1 for a reason. And also Slein I read your post’s on the forum and they are all you completely disagreeing with other peoples idea’s with the exception of one post. How about you come up with an idea and post it in the suggestions thread.

Well the game is still evolving and its not too late for them to think about letting the rangers use rifles.

Crossbows would be awesome. I just think rangers lack in the ranged department really when that’s what they are supposed to be specialized in. Your a wise one Killyox, you make some good posts. I just wish you saw where i’m coming from.

Well I’m moving to Oregon anyway. I think when I move ill go down there to Anet and ask them personally why they don’t have rifles and bring the info back. Or maybe someone going to the meet and greet in Seattle could get that answer.

I don’t expect new weapon choices yet. Its just a suggestion hence the thread its in. And it would make sense giving the lore of the world. In which I am a lore nut as well as a history nut. See this is where a developer needs to step in and clarify everything for us so we don’t sit here and argue on stupid crud.

My key statement here is the ranger can still be a master of their natural surroundings but still have a rifle for a nice clean shot on the 1 large prey they just used their tracking skills to hunt whose skin is too tough for an arrow.

Obviously you haven’t made a rare bow in the Huntsman crafting category where you have to use METAL to craft them….oh and why is the rifle and the bow in the huntsman crafting category oh because they are used for hunters “Rangers”. Also how can you say what Anet wants it to be unless you are a developer or one of the lore writers? Did they tell you personally “We want the rangers to be forest survivalist type of class that relies on nature tiself.”? As far as Anet goes they have always given the community what they desired. Nope! They gave plenty of warning and told everyone to get on a server they wanted to be on. There was plenty of time to get on the server you wanted to be on. They slathered it all over the login, facebook, twitter, forum, etc. Even with the 7 day wait. Unless you were a WvWvW server jumper… in which it is poetic justice.

Why is it £20? How is that logical in any respect. With my current work scheme that is 7 hours of work to change server. It barely costs anything to do it, so why is the pricing so high?

The only reason you would need to change servers is to sever jump to a better WvWvW server. In which I personally am glad they put an end to your server jumping. Im glad I dont have to face the same people over and over and over again just because they want to face easy servers.

And the Warrior is a “Developed” class? In which btw uses more weapons than I feel they should have or feel like typing out. A supposed melee class that uses ranged weapons now? How many people do you know that use rifles for hunting in which they stalk their prey like a Ranger? Rangers are trackers, hunters, trappers, and just happen to be ranged. They have animal companions that are used to sniff out their prey. It makes perfect sense for the ranger to have a rifle option. And saying the ranger isn’t a “shooter” class is preposterous, they “shoot” arrows from their bows. Why cant they have a rifle to shoot?

Fred I just want to say this. I see one or two good points you make but you are making yourself look bad, and people already have their opinion about you. If you try to prove yourself to them it always comes out bad. You have to pick and choose your battles my friend. And there are alot more people who want the precursors easier than the way it stands now. That is why Anet is talking scavenger hunts. This is a game based on the community and being improved by suggestions by the community. The community has spoken in many many Reddit talks, meet and greets, forum posts, etc., and the message they heard was we want easier precursors. They understand that the majority of the people who have a legendary or two or three, are in fact A) people who got their precursor while it was easy. B ) People who have botted their way to them. C) People who have bought it off of TP with GEM—>GOLD. D) The very seldom person who has 1 that has worked their butt off for them. Now that being said, I personally don’t have a Legendary or much less a Precursor. I would love a Precursor but my luck is bad, even with full MF farming the doo doo out of Orr. Now I do think that the story line idea is a good IDEA, but I do think that a story line such as the scavenger hunts that are implemented will have an awesome impact on the community. Also Oglaf knows what he is talking about and always gives good points. Ive seen him all over the forums and have personally followed his posts. Listen to him he has wisdom. And I also have a sneaking suspicion that alot of people are fighting against easier precursors because they don’t want other people to have Legendaries.

Ok this should not seem odd at all. But I am a little confused as to why the Ranger does not have a rifle. Rifle is ranged and range is in the name of Ranger. I don’t think they should have pistols but in a world where there are rifles, and rangers being hunters, it would make sense for them to have a rifle option to “hunt” with. As to why no pistols, you don’t go hunting with a handgun. But a rifle just makes sense. If a Dev or Moderator reads this, could you elaborate on your thinking of why rangers don’t have rifles?

Still if the dungeons are going to be just utterly down right like this its a crud mechanic. they even said that they fine tuned the mobs to be easier…. but quite frankly I dont see it.

I don’t understand why some people believe that because they have more time to play that they should be rewarded exclusively. Why can’t everyone work towards the same goals in the game? If you can do your dailies every day then you will get rewarded far quicker than someone that takes five days to complete one daily.
If it takes me two years to get a legendary do I not deserve it because I couldn’t get it in a month? What kind of logic is that?
My understanding is that Anet wanted their game accessible to all players not just the hard core.
Trust me, by the time I can purchase something with laurels there will be a new shiney that everyone will be after.
The more you play the faster you are rewarded. That is your exclusiveness!

I agree wholeheartedly. I am someone who has the ability to do my dailies very quickly. But in doing something I noticed something that would affect my more casual players of my guild and more. I have alot of time on my hands, but some of the people I know in game do not. So i suggested to fix something in another post that would allow them to not get put on the side benches. My basic statement is the casual players deserve high end gear just as much as the hardcore gamers. Its not going to bother me none to see someone who has the gear I have even if they are casual. As alot of times they worked hard for their gear as well even if you hardcore players don’t see it. I try to think of this game as Guild Wars 2, not World of Warcraft. The ideology that you need to compete for gear and such should not be transitioning over. The only thing that will accomplish is ruining this game and the community its meant for. Like I said before please think of EVERYONE not just yourselves. The voice of reason has spoken.

See this suggestion would allow you to complete 2-4 Daily’s without worries. So in turn it would benefit you Todd.

There are suggestions that benefit everyone. You just have to use common sense to see them.

A good suggestion is

*Something that benefits everyone.

A bad suggestion is

*Something that benefits a few specific players, or typically just you.

So your point is because someone only plays a little, that they don’t deserve high-end gear? Sounds selfish to me….

What about the person that wakes up at 6am est, goes to work at 7am est, comes home around 8pm est, then goes to sleep at 9pm est? Should they suffer because you play this game non stop? It seems rather selfish to just assume everyone revolves around your OWN play-style. Please people use logic before you post against things, and think about all the other players who don’t speak their minds on the forums. I’m kinda tired of these armchair developers who haven’t ever looked at the big picture, but only their own mirror.

I see a bunch more people who want this more than just a few who think “oh too slow.”

If someone failed to complete the daily for several days, then they would lose out hard on laurels and such, making it their own fault. Not the fault of their work schedule. I live EST so resets at 7 suck really bad. I don’t think too slow, instead i think this idea could be improved upon.

I think my idea would end alot of complaining and hits multiple birds with one stone. So the time remaining before reset wouldn’t clutter up the beautiful UI. I don’t want more than I already have on my UI. The time remaining counter would not make everyone happy just cause more complaining. My Idea has very little room for complaints.

Haha I was talking to my wife about the rez dailys as well. I will let someone die now just to get the daily done. Turned me into a @$%#… lol.. Doesn’t matter npc or player. lol

The point would still remain if you were able to:

*24 hour span but if you don’t complete Daily it waits for you to complete it.
*After completing daily it rolls over to next Daily if you have surpassed the 24 hour mark.
*Next daily in completion has a 24 hour span after you completed last Daily before next Daily starts.
*In turn this would allow people to set their Daily’s up to when they are on and able to complete them.
*In turn, no complaining about timezones and everyone is happy.

No offense but Legendary Fart sounds ridiculous, and it seems you deserved that automatic name change for being ignorant with your name. But I would like to hear this “History behind your name, Significance of it, and how your gaming history was bound by this ridiculousness.”

I just almost had my daily completed. All I needed was aquatic kills and crafter. I was working on my aquatic kills and was at 90% complete and was about to head to Lions Arch to finish my crafting challenge and it reset on me. It has now come to my attention that the dailys need to go back to how they were. If you don’t complete them in a certain time then it just allowed you to complete them whenever. Now I have wasted time and nothing to show for it. This seems like a problem and it needs to be fixed. This is my only complaint with the daily’s as I enjoy them very much so. But this would literally drive many people insane.

Yes my Asus keyboard works fine. It seems like a compatibility error with the Steelseries Z-boards and the wireless Logitech keyboard I have. I would appreciate a patch to address this issue pls.
