Hammer, Mace, Sword, torch, hell even if they reworked rifle to be less bad I would be happy.
It doesn’t matter if they have kits to make up for lack of weapons, being restricted to only 3 weapons is just boring, and I’ve made up my mind that until engineer gets more than just 3 weapons I will not be playing. there are so many things engi could have as weapons, and yet they only have pistol shield and rifle, of which only 1 weapon set is actually viable (pistol/shield) while the others are lacking in either power or utility.

I know thiefs are able to 1HKO some squishies. But is warrior axe able to do the same? I seen a warrior a few days ago that shield bashed some one then used evicerate and the guy just dropped, I have been looking for a build where I can just blow people up but the only class that I knew could do that was thief is evicerate that strong?

You could always use a power variant of an HGH build, similar to those old school rifle builds that existed early in beta.

I haven’t used this build in awhile though, and I’d likely tweak it a bit if I did. You could swap out toolkit for grenade kit and put more points into arms or tools as well, or maybe elixir U for some burst and utility. It would basically operate in the same fashion as a condi HGH build except that you’re focused on direct damage.
Im trying to stay away from hgh grenades and SD builds, I like using stuff that people don’t usually see but I like using stuff that is effective.
I want a power engi build but I don’t want to have to use SD is this an ok build? what are the first few problems that come to mind?

straight rabid, or dire/rabid mix when patch hits
6 perplexity rune
toolkit + choice (personally i like rocket boots)… bombs, grenades, a stunbreak… w/e10 explosives (incendiary powder)
10 firearms (pistol recharge)
10 alchemy + 10 tools (speedy kits + invigorating speed)
20 inventions if you want shield cds, 10 if you want protection when critted
20 alchemy if you want protection when cc’ed
30 explosives if you want grenades
20 firearms if you use pistols enough to want piercing shots
so pretty much this? I will be roaming around with this build so I want the swiftness from tools.
well now that perplex runes exist p/s is better since its so much easier to spam cover conditions for your 25 confusion stack with pistols 4 condis on 1/2/3 as opposed to rifles 2 condis on 3/5 (2’s immobilize is another condition you want to protect with covers).
and dat shield with up to 3 interrupts.

I wanna try rifle builds pistol just didn’t cut it for me. I want to find a fun power build or even a weird hybrid build, just as long as it’s fun.
I main Power necro, and the only two options are dagger or axe main hand. axe is good when coupled with the focus and gives some pretty amazing burst damage. but dagger… Dagger has barely anything. I love dagger because of the root but beyond that it kinda sucks… a lot.
-super low range non cleaving auto attack.
-number 2 spell is pretty bad, the drain is weak and scales terrible, the cast time is long, hard countered by retal and the damage is weak compared to auto attack, range is pretty low for a channel.
- number 3 spell long cast time and long cool down.
- gives no boons at all.
the only pros are:
-the auto attack deals a lot of damage (if you can get close enough)
- a 3 second root.
I hope Anet looks into this weapon sometime… It really lacks a lot.
I like some but the base traits need to be moved around….
Blood to power switched with death into life.
furious demise switched with parasitic bond, parasitic bond new: gain health when one of your minions die.
the necro traits are just super messy and some are super useless…
I’m new to ranger and have never liked being focused on pets (EG: I use a spectral power necro instead of minionmancer.) is there a build that uses great sword that doesn’t rely on pets, it is nice to have the pet for sure because it is added damage and is fun to have that extra threat besides just your character, but I don’t want to be totally dependent on it for my gameplay.
The only thing is I don’t wanna get absolutely destroyed in one hit but I want to do a lot of damage in a short period, so I put a ton of toughness on but I still only have 2.5k toughness. does this look like it would work well?
How does SF have those kind of numbers but is still only in tier 8?
From the start to the end I have opened over 5000+ coffers AND NOT ONE TICKET I just want one, I have counted how many boxes I have opened and It baffles me how stupid this drop is. I bought 2 rich coffers and only got candy that’s money out of my pocket for nothing there should be a guaranteed drop of something rare like some jorbreakers or the wings the account bound mini collosus something that is not 10 pieces of worthless… like this RNG is stupid and should never be like this. You have to be on crack to put something like this in to a game and expect people to not kitten and complain about terrible drop rates.
Are there any dagger necro builds? wells are so unreliable and dagger is super close but necros have only 1 gap closer. is there a build with dagger for pvp that works?
I in no way said thief is OP I just can’t play against them… I’m shocked you guys jumped to the “please nerf” wagon before anything else…
I can’t handle them, they blind, stealth have a sizable amount of dodge abilities and can spam spells that deal a pretty huge amount of damage and they regen a lot of HP from being in stealth. I there any way to deal with them as a necro?
What kind of things can I do to better my ranger? I like the play style of the sword/dagger but actually sticking to a target when they remove cripple is hard, and am I supposed to be speccing for crit or condition? I need help because I don’t get what I am doing with this class.
Run hydromancy sigil on sword for easier time sticking to a target.
Ranger melee is very easy to kite, however. It’s no heartseeker/shadowstep/steal/infiltrator strike root trololol class like the thief and it doesn’t have access to things like leg specialist from the warrior that helps keep targets in melee.
Your secondary weaponset must be either greatsword or shortbow for this reason. The shortbow provides an option to apply pressure while closing distance, and the greatsword affords you an extra leap.
I you run double melee, you must spec for power via cleric gear.
If you run trapper, spec rabid.
If you run BM condi bunker, go for settler’s gear with either settler accessories or ascended apothecary accessories.
What is BM?
Beast master traitline bunker.
30 wilderness survival, 10 nature magic, 20 BM, with 10 optional points in either skirmishing or filling up the last BM points.
Is this mainly for being tanky and letting your pet do all the damage?
also if Im running s/d and sb what should my utility skills be and what kind of traits? im only level 24 but I need to plan ahead.

They make good bunkers with d/d and s/d.
That’s about the only thing they’re worth taking for over another class.
Thats great, of course I pick the worst class in the game for my first character.
I’m pretty new to the game and I was expecting ele do be able to do a lot of damage and be destructive, but when I actually got down to it I felt weak, I never did enough damage to be worth while or I was too squishy and almost got 1 shot by thiefs/any other class. I ran full zerkers in PvP with scepter/dagger and all my skills were easily dodged and too weak to utilize, air attunes 1 spell was really weak because it took 3 seconds to cast but you got to cast the 2 spell every 4 seconds, which felt random when in a group fight, the dagger abilities put me in close range which really I don’t want to do as a ranged class with so little defense, my fire spell were easily dodged or I needed to be in close range to use them, water spells healed me for a surprising amount but did no damage and had a ridiculous cool down, and earth spells took way too long to cast for what they did. I tried to do the D/D ele which worked very well but now I know it’s getting nerfed so I can’t rely on it anymore. Staff is really hard to use because all the spells are aoe long range and easy to get out of/dodge, and if some one gets close to me I’m done for. dagger/focus just doesn’t work together very well, and conjured weapons feel weak and can only be used for a small amount of time. What am I supposed to be doing? What is ele supposed to be doing?
