My boyfriend and I tried to do raids about 2 weeks ago, but we got kicked from the party because we apparently didn’t have enough DPS, even though we had Ascended Zerk gear, and others had Exotic only.

You do realise ascended zerker/viper gear doesn’t actually mean you’ll be doing super high dps right?

You can do very low dps just by not knowing your skill rotations/priorities. I’m quite sure I don’t do top dps on my condi engie because with quickness and alacrity that rotation makes my fingers bleed xD but I do focus on skill prioritisation which does the job most of the times.

Had a war in a tier 4 volcanic fractal with twilight and whatnot and he was swinging his sword randomly around, not actually attacking the boss, every time the boss would bubble up. He did not do a ton of dps in that instance ;-) Gear =/= skill nor damage on it’s own.

Let me clue you in friend – I was there on raid release. I put in countless hours into VG, then Gorse, then Sab and so on. I learned, I improved, I got better. We all did.

STIHL you really are a special case aren’t you? Where exactly did Harper say he’s in any way better than anyone else or anyone who has not raided before?

No one here claims they are superior just because we raid.

The only thing we are trying to communicate to players qqing about not be able to access raids is that they CAN access raids whenever they want. You want to learn the lore (however little there is) – go into a cleared instance (I can open one for you every week if you’re on EU) and read the notes to your heart’s content.

You want to go in and actually kill the boss? Well there’s options:

1. Click on the party panel – click on create squad – enter instance – (now the tricky apparently impossible to accomplish task) – post a LFG saying something in the likes of “new player looking to learn raids” – super hard right? (oh, there’s been text and video guides out since the raids released)
2. Go into LFG – click on Raids Looking for More – look for something like “raid teaching runs” – I see at least a couple of them every single day.
3. Go into the Looking for section of the forum – find a raid teaching guild – send a message – learn, try out, like/dislike

Raids are not exclusive, they are not hard, the gear requirement is void as has been proven x number of times.

Btw. yesterday I pugged daily tier 4 mossman and immediately noticed our necro and thief would get insta killed (not downed, killed) every time they got hit. This left me, another war and a guard to trio mossy. We did wipe once, so in the pause I asked the thief to honestly say if he actually had any AR, he said he said he had like 64 (104ish required) but he claimed to have done them before (he was ranging so go figure). Our necro was just afk auto attacking from max range. Did it bother us that we had to carry them, maybe, did we do something about it? no, because fractals are super easy. Raids are not, and I bet not everyone wants to carry 4 (20%) of their squad through a boss kill because they can’t be bothered to get the minimum required to attempt the content (thief said he was working on getting more AR so there’s a person I won’t mind tagging along with in the future).

Not this season but last one, I was in mid tier Ruby and I as a solo-queuer got into a match with a four-man premade on either side. Basically two solo-queuers were the literal fifth wheel in that game. Was a complete blowout too btw :-)

so yeah, premades, team and such should get their own queue pls

If we need to do more guild missions I’m available on Wednesday and Friday around 20:00 CET (EU). Sunday should be fine as well.

Problem is not only sb5. Issue is we have only 2 ranged options which is sb and pp. PP is kind of joke in pvp and is huge ini dump. SB offers range and utility. I think if thief had more ranged options we would see less sb?

Give us a “useful” 1200 ranged weapon and I can die happy

You can craft them or stat change them.

A marauder armor and weapons/valkyrie trinkets mix is a good start.

Before HoT came out I used to duo-trio 50s with some friends on their guards. She would sometimes hop into Clerics gear to get the aggro.

However, you still need to watch out for tells of hard hitting skills. Other than that it should work as that’s how we duo’ed a 50 once – me on ele and a guard or two depending on the fractal.

I seem to have an ongoing issue since monday, exclusively in raids.

I seem to get huge lag spikes at random moments. The game freezes sometimes completely.

Every other game content is ok, only raids.

Never had an issue before.

I will try running the 64bit client today and see if that helps, but would love some tips.

Condi seems to be wanting since power will be easy to fill.

Anyone running condi please make sure you’re not running any toughness gear.

The feel of thief is the only reason I have stuck with it.

The numbers suck.

Numbers arent the point of Thief, playstyle is.

Well for me after the specialisation patch gw2 is like this:

1. Login
2. Play my thief for a bit, get tired from all that dodging and evading
3. Relog to rev/guard/war/mes – semi afk while stuff dies to traps, wells, condis…

You have to unlock the skin, no just craft it I just salvaged mine.

As far as charging the oiled bit, according to wiki you need to start the machined collection first, which is what I did as well.

This was one of the reasons I ran fractals as I dont want to craft any more ascended xD

When I want to up my income I do SW events for the loot and crests. Then buy keys and follow a chest train for 3-4 runs. Gives you a decent amount of ectos and other mats. SW events, if they all succeed can give you around 20 ectos from salvages on their own and thats like 30 minutes playtime? :-)

Dungeons are a good place to go as well if you get a good group. Fractals can take forever sometimes and don’t give too much gold unfortunately :-( (love them anyway :-) )
