It’s starting to get a bit out of hand when you’re trying to auto-sell an item on the trading post and someone put in a custom order at 1 copper or some price below the vendor sell price.
Please make it to where if someone wants to custom order an item; it needs to be at least 1-2 copper higher than the vendor sell price.
Again Anet, I cannot stress how difficult these goggles are to get to. I seriously hope you address this puzzles difficulty and the fact that the goggles are a pain to get to. If you die, you start all over from the beginning… And that in itself is hair pull inducing.
… and in how many non mmo games do you get to choose which voice your character has? I don’t see your point, the player character VAs do just as much job as in gw in other games, or close to that. You’re asking for multiple voices of a SINGLE character, and you compare it on a normal voice act for a player character that’s the same in GW.
I can count a few non-mmo games that DO allow you to choose the voice of your character. The Divinity series is one such offline game that allows this. And in the Divinity series; every cut scene has your character saying something to NPC’s. I remember there being at least 6 voices if not more to choose from for both genders.
You’re asking for multiple voices of a SINGLE character, and you compare it on a normal voice act for a player character that’s the same in GW.
Most of this statement confuses me. But again; there is another MMO published by NCsoft that had at least 4 options for character voices. Aion Online. Your character actually spoke in Cutscenes as well and the voice was different depending what you chose. I’m not saying give us 50 voices to choose from, nor am I saying give us 10. At least 3 different voices would make a difference. Young, Adult, and Veteran -or- Child-like, Smooth, and Rugged. You can come up with three varying voices, so long as they cater to the audience. I mean why even have young-adult/teenage faces if the characters going to sound like a man in his thirties.
I’d like to have more opinions from other people than just having an argumentative debate with just you. Maybe even a response from an Anet developer if they have plans or don’t have plans to do something about this.
Ridiculous. Just one species/gender combination has dozens of hours of voice dialogue, covering every line they can possibly speak in their personal story, dungeons, and in the world.. and then on top of that those voice actors have to voice any future stuff as well for consistency. There are five species, each with both genders playable, so that’s ten different voice actors voicing dozens of hours of dialogue each… and you think it’s in some way practical or realistic to expect several alternatives for each combination? Yeah, that would be a terrific use of budget.
And don’t compare dozens of hours of dialogue to a total of three minutes of NPC dialogue in every stage of the Living World content.
Ok, then; Lets take a look at none-MMO game series. How many hours of dialogue do you think those Voice Actors have to put in? Not to mention reoccurring titles, adding new characters in, ect. There’s a cost to that as well. And you can’t say that Anet doesn’t have enough money when they have people constantly purchasing more than $50 a month of stuff in the cash shop. The game has been out for a year and is just as populated as some of the only surviving Pay to Play MMO’s.
Don’t you only need 38 out of the 40 dives for the Dive Master achievement?
I will agree though, that dive is poorly designed, since you just have to jump and pray.
Zephyr Sanctum and Southsun Goggles DO NOT count towards the Dive Master Achieve. They are their own separate Achieves.
Sadly when Anet introduced this new jumping puzzle; they decided to be masochists and add the goggles at the top to part of the Dive Master Achieve. Before July 1st there were only 37 goggles to find. And sadly the Not so Secret JP goggles are mandatory for the Dive Master Achieve.
The only jumping puzzle that infuriates me the most is the “Not So Secret” Jumping puzzle; especially trying to get to the Diving Goggles at the end. I want to punch a kitten through a screen with that puzzle…
A third day has gone by since I have seriously attempted to get these goggles for my LAST Diving goggles for the Dive Master achieve and STILL the third day goes by with nothing to show for it but a nice repair bill. I have seen a lot of people, including myself; just flat out rage quitting over this puzzle. For me.. this puzzle is by far the worst stress inducer in this games history. Everything compared to this puzzle is trivial and fun. This? Is just painful and frustrating. I cannot express how difficult this puzzle is to those who do not have the greatest set up in the world and suffer from lag.
Yeah when this puzzle was first introduced on July 1st; everyone was doing it. Now no one bothers because of how infuriating it can be.
Please do something about this. Either make the goggles not so high up, or add an alternative, easier method for those not seeking to have an infuriating ‘mandatory’ challenge thrown at them.
Please Anet, do something about this puzzles difficulty. I can’t be the only one who has seriously considered punching in their screen because of this puzzle.
Why did this suddenly go from being a rare to a masterwork quality and become account bound? Now all the ones I’ve been saving to sell later are worthless.. And Why do it just for Wind Catchers? Why not the others?
Why did you make it necessary for these goggles to be a part of the Diving Goggles achieve.. More so why did you make it necessary for this jumping puzzle to have so many mobs and so many ways to fall down and die. Not to mention if you jump the wrong way at the goggles? You start all over again.. Please fix this I am loosing my sanity with this not to mention it makes me want to punch my screen in.
“some of the current ones would suffice” – I’m sure someone would come here and be distressed about how similar they sound to a random NPC.
I was just saying that if they were low on money; which I doubt they are, they could use the people they use NPC’s for.
The answer is pretty straight forward: not enough money to pay all of the voice actors that would be required for this.
If they didn’t have enough money; they wouldn’t continuously bring back Voice Actors to voice new content in Living Stories. They don’t have to get new Voice Actors; some of the current ones would suffice.
Why won’t a representative respond with an answer! ;w; I just want to know if you have any near future plans to fix this “Tengu Syndrome”!
Dear Anet.. Why do all player characters sound the same?
As it stand.. this is my current character obsession for Role Play: http://img534.imageshack.us/img534/1545/91g0.jpg He looks to be mid teens if not a bit younger.. and yet he sounds like mid twenties if not older… NPC’s have a wide range of voices, yet us player characters are stuck with a single voice per race/gender that don’t always fit them. I’m a little miffed that this has become a “Tengu Syndrome” in which we aren’t allowed a small variety if any; to choose a voice for our character that best suits their looks. My first Charr was supposed to be a skiddish little thing and yet I’m stuck with this deep burlesque warrior voice that just says “And I cleaved his skull in two with one swing.”
Please tell me you have something up your sleeves to address this in the very near future. I don’t want to be stuck with “Tengu Syndrome”!
So I think there should be something like with Agent of Entropy achieve for Gathering and Slaying certain types of mobs.
For Gathering it would possibly be every 500 of materials gathered to score as a completion for this repeatable Achievement and would award 2 points.
For Slaying, maybe every 500 or 1,000 Mobs you slay of a specific type you get awarded 2 points after completing the Achievement associated with the Slay.
The Progress for continuously slaying mobs may be a bit too much for the system. But why hasn’t a repeatable achieve been added for gathering?
First off, it’s not free, you spend time grinding achievements for them.
Secondly, Hall of Monuments, which is basically achievement armor given for those loyal to GW1, is mostly dyeable with the ONLY exception is the ice king crown.
Laziness is the only reason why the new gear isn’t dyeable.
And to be blunt and honest; the GW1 HoM armor is easy to get and ugly as all living hell. It has no special unique features that make people go “Oooh He did a lot in GW1 to get that!” The GW HoM armor takes little to no effort to get and it looks bland. It looks like any other low grade armor set.
The Hellfire/Radiant armor is more detailed and harder to get as the tier’s progress. So no.. No dying.
lol i was a bit over the top when i said that but nope im smarter then you. i created my first pc game when i was in 7th grade i skipped 6 and 11th grade so i don’t think im stupid
If you had that much creativity then why did you go with frostichigo for your Anet name..
Anyway onto the subject. No do not remove it. I like playing with my friends and NOT being overpowered when in a lower level zone. While I believe they need to Buff Shadow Behemoth and all other lower level world bosses; they DO NOT need to remove the level capping in zones. It’s part of GW2 original design.
It’s not designed for heavy armor. The preview is heavy armor, but it fits for all armor types. Also… being able to dye them would defeat the purpose of its original aesthetic value.
The set is named for it’s looks.
If Hellfire armor was green; it would be called Felfire Armor. But it’s called Hellfire for a reason.
Same goes for Radiant skins. It’s supposed to be white.
Well, the whole “blocking out the sun” is just a thing about its pure size. Any Elder Dragon can do that. Hell, Zhaitan was doing that for 100 years by darkening the sky above Orr (actually, I think it’s said the sky’s been dark over Orr’s waters since the Cataclysm, so make that 250 years! And we know it’s Zhaitan’s doing thanks to the fact that the sky starts clearing up in Arah explorable, mainly Forgotten path).
The reason I put ‘its wingspan easily blocks out the sun’ in bold is because of the fact of the Zephrites use of Sun Crystals that could possibly lighten up the area if Kralkatorrik made an appearance. I know the quote was in reference to his size; but think of if he did block out the sun.
The Sun crystals may also be another key in defeating this elder dragon, as we can see the dark crystals in Burning Steppes, Iron Marches and a little bit of the Field of Ruin, darkening the sky where ever they are.
So I’ve played every race so far and have one of each class, so I’ve seen all of the intros. What really stood out to me was the Sylvari intro. One scene in particular has art depicting other Sylvari hairstyles that don’t seem to be available on any NPC’s or in player creation. I’ve attached a file of the particular scene I’m talking about. The male on the far right has a very unique hairstyle and what we can see of the one on the far left has one as well.
In all of the intro cut scenes for every race there are unique hairstyles only seen in these artworks.
So can we see some of these hairstyles included in the intro pieces in game?
In the Sylvari intro CS there are a few artworks with unique hairstyles. This scene depicts two. The male on the far right and the female on the far left whose back is turned to us. I’d at least like to see the male one put in.
Given the current Living Stories that we’ve been going through; I’d like to make the assumption that the next Elder Dragon we’re going to focus on is Kralkatorrik. The appearance of the Aetherblades and all their assorted events makes me think this.
Also with the Zephyrites; being masters of Sun, Lightning, and Wind and the appearance of quartz crystals. If we look at Kralkatorrik’s Wiki we can note these few things:
Kralkatorrik is the Elder Crystal Dragon — its wingspan easily blocks out the sun --
When Kralkatorrik flew, a terrible storm of black clouds and lightning was formed around its body.
With other information; It’s likely to assume that Elona will be the next continent to open up in GW2 with the rest of the information on Kralkatorrik’s page:
It is also one of the forces preventing movement into Elona for all except the Order of Whispers.
Any thoughts on this?
I’m going on a day and a half with Adnul.. TWICE I have gotten to within a grain of his health and he still beats the tar out of me.. Adnul has to be bugged; Maddie never spammed her special as much as this guy does.
Ever so often (Since I can’t seem to win this..) red text will appear on my screen that says “Your opponent’s eyeing you carefully. You can’t Fake now!” Yet his special buff isn’t active and I take a lot of damage for this. This even happened when he had just a tiny grain of his health left and I was about to finish him off after I recouped some health after a fake and his special buff wasn’t active.
No.. No Mounts please. And i’m glad Anet said No and Never. I was a mount collector in WoW.. it was too much trying to stay ahead of the collecting curve. I was top mount collector for overall collection for both factions on my server on WoW.. and drop rates on some mounts were just ridiculous.. The Love is in the Air Rocket still eludes me since it was put into the game.
I’m going off another thread I saw about the Norn Racial Abilities customization.
My idea is to have Vanity Racials. Not things you use in combat, but something that’s sort of like a second Town Clothing Tab; Maybe called ‘Vanity Form’ or some other type of name that differentiates it from Town Clothing and Armor.
The idea is basically each race has their own unique Vanity Form based on the Sparring Partner, Patron God, Spirit of the Wild, First Advisor, or the Time of Awakening you chose. The Vanity Form would also come with a set of unique skills based on one of the selections you chose.
For Charr, Your character could wear the armor of choice that was worn by your sparring partner. Say you chose Maverick as your sparring partner; your armor would look battle hardened as if you’d been through many fights and a few nicks and tears in it.
For Human’s, you could wear certain vestments based on the Patron God you chose. Say you chose Kormir, you’d have a blindfold/headdress and flowing golden garb.
For Norn, depending which Spirit of the Wild you chose; you could take on your beast form when you switch to Vanity Form. It would give you no boosts and would be unusable in combat save for the special skills you gain. But still no real combat use.
For Asura it’d be the uniform you were issued depending which Advisor you chose.
For Sylvari; depending what time you chose when you awoke; your vanity form would either give off a warm glow with light armor and various warm colorations (Cycle of Dawn) , Have a Cool glow with armor symbolizing mid day (Cycle of Noon), A misty purplish glow with evening themed light armor (Cycle of Dusk), And a dark subtle blue glow with cool colored light armor (Cycle of Night)
These vanity forms/armor would be undyeable.
The reason I thought of this is again from the other thread talking about the Norn forms. But also because when I saw the GW2 trailer and the Norn were featured, Some of them seemed to be able to switch out of their forms as they pleased and not worry about some “skill cooldown”. NPC’s can change in and out of their beast forms as they please, so why can’t players?

It says on the wiki that these keys can be found on mobs and through out the world.
Yet I have never found a Black Lion Chest key off an enemy since I’ve played this game. And I’ve never found any via jumping puzzles. The only time I get them from other than the gem store is very rarely.. and I mean as rare as getting the highest quality mini from the mini bundles, to get one from map completion and/or daily quest rewards; which I have not seen the latter happen yet.
I understand you want to make money.. but I’ve gotten more chests than I have keys since release.
I mean I’ve gotten broken, bent, shattered, ect. lock picks and such but never a black lion chest key from a mob. This isn’t just “rare” it’s too frickin, ultimate rare.
Please increase the drop rate on these Black Lion Chest Keys from mobs, and increase the chance of them being the reward for map completions.
As it is right now for map completion they are a really rare turn out. And you don’t need to increase the drop rate substantially, just to something of an average of at least 5 keys per month from mob drops or something else that’s reasonable.
So.. a bunch of tables, chairs, chests, and some rare stuff.. Yet people can’t jump ontop of us. D: The Endless Guild Banner Tonic has a collision script; why can the Endless Mystery Tonic for Furniture have one?
The Southsun Guild Rush is extremely broken..
I did it today and didn’t even get to finish because all the mobs that aren’t supposed to be a part of the Guild Rush attack you. The Karka mobs (Aside from the Hatchlings that spring up from traps.) don’t attack you at all.. Yet we have a Veteran Reef Rider, Young Reef Rider, and Regular Reef Riders as well as the Reef Drakes attacking you which I’m pretty sure are not supposed to be a part of the guild rush. The irritated/territorial crabs run away when you use the second skill, the Reef drakes/riders? Nope..
There’s also problems with the traps. You don’t go near a trap and it goes off on you with no one else around.
And only 2/15 actually got to the end because they trailed behind everyone else getting knocked out of the rush.
I understand this is supposed to be a big group thing. But not even the guild that started the rush got through because of mob interference and trap bugs.
This is the second time today that I’ve had people gather up mobs and pull them into my Flamethrower and/or turrets repeatedly to attempt to kill me. So far I’ve had this happen three times this week.
So I went to report this latest scuffle and there were no options for Harassment or for Training mobs in a repeated offense. The only options were for Inappropriate Name, Verbal Abuse, Scamming, Botting, Gold Selling, and Spamming.
There really needs to be a Report for Harassment and a small box to input what type of Harassment they were doing.
In the near future could you make Achievements Sortable in their different Tabs? Like Sort by Name, Sort by Completion. I’d really like this feature so it can help me determine how close I am to some of my achievements, Like Slayer Achieves.
While I have searched these forums for this suggestion and I have looked at all the posts concerning this, I think that Dyes should be made account wide once it’s learned on one toon.
Many have said that doing this would kill the Dye market, but I believe it won’t. ANet has shown that they can create new dyes to stimulate the dye market and even those once-in-a-blue-moon dyes such as seen with those from the Flame and Frost Dye sets which will be leaving shortly.
Not to mention GW2 still gets new players every day who will buy the perfect dyes for their characters armor.
So in short: Making dyes account wide will not kill the dye market as long as ANet makes event exclusive dyes.
