It’s also worth noting that a lot on endgame stuff is pretty hard for F2P to access since methods of acquiring ingame gold are fairly limited for them because of the TP restrictions. And you need ingame gold to do higher fractals(ascended crafting) and so on, then there is the plethora of other very weird restrictions to F2P, some justified as a safety measure, some not. Also I see the cause-effect chain of your thinking that we who payed for the basegame should get HoT for free, but from a money making point of wiew that would make no sense for Arenanet, it is still a company trying to make a profit after all and not a charity.
It should still be sellable via TP because the toilet technically destroys the 2 legendaries you put in and creates a brand new item. In that sense The Eternity crafted by your method in comparison to the “old” way would be no different.
Sure why not, just reset the personal story, as in make them play it from the first instance forward, you can still get the achievements but rewards from already completed chapters(lvl wise) should not be rewarded. And because this is Anet don’t make it part of the existing total makeover kit but make a new one and put a hefty price tag on it, such as it is with the name change contract.
Yeah mostly as a rally point, then smacking people around in the arena can be fun, but the novelty of that will wear off since Pve gear means Pve dmg. Other than that it’s an easy way to access merchant, bank, repair and such but sadly TP isn’t something that Anet decided to impelement in the early upgrades.
Just have to say, since the dawn of time when hovering your mouse over you party members(new squad is just expanded party) you have seen their user name, map location and achievement points, so what is the issue hereP O.o
yeah we got the first boss to about 1/3 of it’s health, seems like this will be another ridiculous dps race after all. The boss mechanics are nice and quite challenging but adding a timer that prevents any non zerker/sinister squad succeeding might have been a mistake.
well, as an elite spec now costs 250 HP, there certainly is enough, I have 280 something left over and I haven’t gotten every single one in maguuma jungle yet, or wvw areas for that matter. And I think that maybe they don’t intend to have every elite spec available on all charecters.
The title says it all. How does one with no armor crafting go about acquiring Marauder and Viper gear?
Without armor crafting?
1. Drop ascendent chest.
2. Select armor piece with any stats
3. Craft Viper/Marauder insignia
4. Change stats on armor piece.
Looks like it is a best way to get gear with this stats.
mate, you still need some crafting to make the insignia
Ok so yeah, Marauder recipes atleast as far as exotic pieces go is done by discovery, easy peasy. The insignias are a bit pricey because of the ebony orbs but those things have been coming down in price pretty steadily.
So, how am I supposed to do the hero points?

Maybe I am optimistic, maybe not, maybe I created a guild for like-minded people, who knows. But there’s just a couple of hero points in HoT areas that can’t be done with maximum of 3 people, and if you are having trouble finding a couple of people willing to help, in an MMORPG might I add, I’d hazard a guess you’re not trying very hard.
And about the exploration being not soloable, atleast not for everyone is actually a pretty nifty way of anet saying that this is not a singleplayer game, you are not supposed to solo everything. Besides doing map comp with a friend or two is more entertaining than soloing it, try it out sometime.
Ok here we go again. The game does have an LFG tool, and usually when people are doing DS, VB T4, or Tarir meta they will put up taxis to get people in the same map instance instead of scattered around 5-6 different ones in quieter hours.

How will this be even remotely viable once people get sick of HoT?
It won’t be.
It still will be, as stated before if LFG won’t do it for you, just grab a few guildies or peeps from your friends list to do them with. And If you do not belong to a guild with members willing to help you with harder content might wanna consider joining a guild that works as it should
Seems so since there isn’t any on the TP, and I think that the marauders I crafted were account bound.
step 1, get armor crafting of the desired weight class. step 2, craft the desired armor pieces or insignias for ascended stat changes.
I know it is kinda annoying if you don’t like crafting in GW2, but you do what you have to. And you can get away with just lvl 400 crafting and that costs around 40g assuming you’d have to buy all the mats to do it
Ah okay, now that I think about it the ways of getting them have been slowly disappearing. But I remember I had somewhere around 2k of those things after the hero point system was implemented, but that’s mostly because pvp, as in scrolls of knowledge got turned into shards. But I did craft ascended gear or change stats for full gear and crafted a legendary after that and I still have around 2,5k rolling in my account wallet so I must be getting them somewhere. But wasn’t it that before HoT you’d get one if you leveled up when you were level 80? And I do get that now with the masteries that isn’t really possible because you no longer get one every time you gather 254k exp. Out of interest tho, do people who haven’t gotten HoT so far get the shards that way anymore?
I might be a bit biased but I’ve been in an understandiung that no one has a shortage of those things and that makes this question a bit moot for me. So is it that the shards are in short supply?
Right, and… why exactly do we need such ridiculous workarounds to do events as a guild? There need to be better systems in place for a guild to work and play together in Guild Wars.
It’s really not a ridiculous workaround, and not really that hard to do. Bigger guilds and bigger communities have been doing this stuff for ages, it’s just a matter of getting used to it.
And since I don’t see Anet putting a system in place to do the same thing, shall we say, officially, we have to make do with how the game handles masses of people entering the same map.
Ok so you do a thing called a jump, how this works is as follows:
1. Get every single member who’s joining to WP into the map at the same time
2. Have a few people, like leaders, not jump for about a minute
What should happen is as follows, the people who WP’d should fill up the mostly full maps, which in turn will make the server create a brand new instance of that same map.
3. Have the few people who did not jump WP now and they should end up in the newly created, empty, map instance.
4. Taxi everyone in.
And ofc after you have taxied all your guildies in and tagged up a pug or two are gonna end up in the map, and they will use the LFG to fill the rest of the spots in the map.
Yeah DD can be seen, mostly because certain builds (S/D) can make very good use of the traitline, staff however is a pretty bad weapon for sPvP atleast for the time being.
Berserker however is not really suitable for the current metagame and “old” warrior builds are superior in comparison.
Feel the pain because I main Thief and Warrior xD
Okay so avoiding major spoilers, what we as a pact commander are doing is leading an invasion into the maguuma jungle against Mordremoth, this plan goes a bit awry what with the whole fleet being destroyed and more or less dropped around Verdant brink, this is where the expack picks up and the point of the areas are as follows:
1. Verdant Brink: Gathering the remains of the pact fleet and getting them ready to mobilize deeper into the jungle
2. Auric Basin: Gathering intel and finding new allies agains the Mordrem(mostly The Exalted)
3. Tangled Depths: Another bit of gathering allies and intel, also Ley Line stuff.
4. Dragons Stand: This area is pretty self explanatory by the name, most interesting bit of the new areas because of the meta event chain.
The 2 areas in between VB and DS exist I think mostly to acknowledge that there’s other sentient life in the jungle other than the mordrem, and the existence of the Jungle dragon isn’t something they are comfortable with, leading naturally to them requiring help and then returning the favor.
Hope that made sense
Seems to work now, the fileservers that had problems seem to be disabled now.
So, same login problems and random disconnects everybody else has been having. Also just now two of my characters with 100% map completion just say 0%. So.. what’s up with that? Don’t get any specific error code either, if I try to access a charecter I just get a seemingly infinite loading screen.
Thank you very much! Now I can continue wasting my life o//
I have the match in progress bug, appeared after got thrown out of pvp map after got stuck there.
