Where in the game do you have to kill enough wind riders that these would even make any difference?
Even more to the point where in the game are wind riders that don’t more or less instadie when you so much as touch them?
Not defending the daily AP cap or anything but OP must have more than “1 point here and there” to do since the leaderboards he mentioned have ppl with 32k+ AP.
Oki, put a ticket going, now to see if they actually manage to fix it before the season ends.
Ok so, I have done all the year of Ascension part expect the 4th one, and it’s rather sad to see all the other achievements progressing but this particular one will not budge.
The achievements specifies I need to win 6 Ranked games in one day, which I have done multiple days in a row now. Otherwise would not care but this particular one is needed to get the last bit for my legendary wings.
ps. the pics were taken a fair bit time apart because I just made sure to get 6 wins in one day just to solidify my point
My group generally just pulls VG to the next sector a bit early, since the floor damage isn’t that much and the enrage timer is reaaaally lenient on that one we can afford it. Besides a good healer can easily outheal the damage the raid eats while the floor is still active(which is a few seconds at most)
Video doesn’t really apply to Guild Wars 2, since even if someone quit the game for say a year, and comes back now the best gear they had back then is still valid, if the stats aren’t, rerolling them isn’t an issue. The main power creep in guildwars 2 is based on modifications to classes, skills and traits and ofc the elite specs.
So to summarize the people coming back don’t have anything other than a paywall(a small one considering the time people put into mmo’s) preventing them from benefitting from the powercreep and being equal with everyone else
Personally play a thief but have to agree with OP that 2 is a bad idea, but tbf people are usually willing to swap and if they aren’t I’ll reroll.
Yes, This definitely
yeah sad to tell you but meta changes, that means a year old build will be underpowered. Some builds survive through a couple of diff metas but no way for a year, xcept cele ele, which is dead and buried now.
Well, got what I wanted Thanks Erik.
yeah I know, I was just interesting in the group/solo deviation in this particular match, wonder if a dev could confirm that that is working as intended(one can wish I guess :p )
Just asking, since this didn’t happen in s2, but s1 was full of this. Also, not even going to touch that division spread.
I want to know if the matchmaking system is making mistakes(for the love of god test them before release), or is this by design.
ps. match was still fun tho.
yeah the matchmaking is good for the most part, small issues here and there but vastly better than s2 and s1
Don’t know about that, only in 2 of those ten matches you were completely outmatched, other than that looks fairly even. That means that there was a chance to win and you and your team weren’t good enough to achieve that.
I play rev and thief mainly. 95% of the time one of those is up for PVP win daily. Please don’t change this. Getting my daily in one match is awesome. Just que in unranked if you suck at the profession you are playing.
My point of view covers both ranked and unranked arenas, and what I am after is just that, one match should not be enough to do all dailies.
Ok so, I think this particular thing has been brought up a few times in the past but here goes again.
I think it’s high time the PvP dailies got a rework.
The fact that “Top Stats” and “Rank points earned” are trivial, former because you can just go and die somewhere and still get some “top” stat, and the latter takes no effort either.
Then there’s the X or Y winner daily, maybe just make it a winner, and make it atleast 2 matches. The class restriction is harmful mostly because people who don’t play the specified classes are forced to play classes they don’t know how to play dragging their team down. And if there’s winners for not-so-popular classes you may end up playing a match where your team consists of 4/5 ppl playing the same class.
So I’d personally suggest the dailies to be reformed into something where you actually have to achieve(you do get achievement points from this after all) something, instead of just faffing around for a while and getting them anyways. In my opinion this would not make the dailies be too hard, it would just generally result in a more enjoyable experience for everyone since everyone would be forced to try their best to get the dailies done(trying their best includes swapping toons so that the teamcomp is somewhat reasonable)
And before anyone gets to point out the obvious: Yes, I do know that there are other means to do dailies, I also know that they are for the most part much easier than what I suggest. I also know that the rewards from PvP dailies are arguably by far the best ones.
You wait until it’s not full anymore, it does change since fullness is based on wvw population mostly. Another thing you could do is both swap to a server that’s almost full tho.
ps. just sitting here waiting for a mod to move this to “players helping players”
(edited by Rayden.3695)
Also there’s the trick of deleting all your chars, that let’s you swap servers for free and keeps your bank and wallet intact.
And yes I know this is pretty much viable for two kinds of ppl, the very very new, and the ones that are kitted in full ascended/legendary and have no personal attachment to their character(s) so they don’t actually lose anything when doing so(apart from lvl up tomes but hey that’s just a good thing).
I’ve got this done recently. I think what fails it most of the time is when people forget to restealth after dropping the bomb.
This ^ Also Necros running minions proc the turrets and get the shiny reveal buff so that’s a fail. And then Rangers who don’t stow their pets so the pets proc the turrets or get the revealed buff, also a fail.
Great introduction for new players to gw2, first trap switch not working, burrow before Kasha has bugged lizard respawn …
anet needs to fix broken stuff even if you can dodge through it or whatever
I think it’s glaringly obvisous that this will most likely not be fixed, it’s been that way since forever and it still is dungeons we are talking about. Even tho they kinda revived dungeons by upping the rewards they only did that because of player uproar, not because they are going the commit any dev time towards dungeons anymore.
Even if the stat set would be realeased outside of PvP it would take time, just look at the time marauder was available in pvp before pve
Also note that running Demo gear in dungeons and fractals would make most mobs, especially champs, aggro on you since you’d probably have the highest toughness in the party, but that’s just a personal preference thing I guess.
Sounds really like network issues your end more than the game.
No this actually is a real issue, on some maps sb 5 tends to not find a valid path over a flat surface while still draining iniative.
Engi and Ele are indeed the most fitting to what you describe there, also Rev if your’e into that since it’s quite a lot simpler than the other two. That aside they aren’t really that much harder to learn than other classes as long as you learn the attunements on Ele and the kits on the Engi.
The other thing is that Ele is a squishy bugger on full zerk gear but if you run a little more defensive build you’ll do just fine, and this game after all is all about those active defenses
Gonna wrap up by saying that I don’t know of a class that can be played well by a new player since even the “simple” classes require finesse to play efficiently. You’re not gonna be immediately good on anything really, just play it enough and you will.
Ok so, personal experience but I’d bet that I am right since I’ve farmed SW events into oblivion and seen this happen too often for it to be a coincidence.
To maximize the spawn of a legendary boss do not run around like a headless chicken hoping for the best, instead do the following: Pick a keep, get the defense lvl to 3 and hold it there. You need to run the supply bulls to the keep aswell since higher supply level seems to be a factor in the spawn rate.
I usually see atleast one leggy per sw run I do this way, and besides more events = more stuff.
Yeah feel like preaching to the choir here but Rev is far from OP
As far as PvP is concerned there is million ways to counter the burst and as stated before they are rather squishy, especially against conditions since they have nothing to deal with it(staff 4 is a joke). That aside Rev is especially good at killing noobs, just like a DH, just the fact that rev is still good against seasoned players if you know how to play it.
In PvE they are useful but not OP, they get outclassed by thieves and Eles in dps, especially when cleaving. And as far as boonsharing goes I’ll take a PS Warrior over a Rev any day. So in the end they are a little bit of everything and not the best at anything.
So all in all Anet has managed to balance out Rev fairly well.
The only problem I see with t4 snowblind is the stacking ice elementals during the elemental source encounter, kind of tiring when there’s 3 or 4 of them on top of eachother one shotting stuff.
If you look at you squad in the form where you see all the groups and not just yours it displays the health of your allies. It’s basically displayed as a box and the less green the box is the less health they have.
Yeah don’t see the point of all this whining. I used up the item on my lvl 80 thief just to get it out of the way and what came out was a full set of exo valkyries, which btw are not good for any viable thief build.
However I think that the leveling grind is a fairly boring business and those who want to explore the world will do it out of their own enjoyment and not because they have to in order to level up, it’s not like I have leveled a single character the manual way after the first one I made
You people already have the “melee attack assist”- help function for melee combat, why would you need another helping function?
Also the aforementioned setting only makes melee combat harder since it effectively stops you from moving through your target.
You can pretty safely swap out the accuracy sigil for strength without losing any dps. This is mostly if you mainly play in a group that is.
Personally would run Force & Air tho, but that’s just me.
Without assassins gear on a guardian you will need the accuracy sigil on it.
If you have enough assassins gear then air is better.
For solo play yes, but a good group will supply you with fury so even in full zerker you’ll be sitting on ~65% crit chance, ~70% if full ascended which is enough so that you don’t need the acc sigil.

In a sense that’s an ok idea, personally would like it. However, I rarely swap stats on my legendaries and even if I do it’s usually between 2-3 different stats. This would basically mean that even the meager advantage of having a legendary weapon(looks aside) would be gone.
ps. If they would do this but give leggies some actual edge then it would be just fine :p
yeah this is a pretty weak attemp to get a reaction xD Best of luck o/
The price has been going down since october, and 400g is still twice the price it cost in 2013. So nothing new there.
It’s just a placeholder item, it will never become anything else than what it is atm. Pretty much throw it away or keep as an oddity, choice is yours.
If you can believe Anet this particular achievement will not be going away, wouldn’t count on it tho.
ps. 94 was the worst experience of my life, would’nt recommend it to my worst enemy
Ok so, the stats do apply as do the sigil that is contained in the weapon. As in, you don’t use the skills that the axe gives but you still get the stats it contains towards your(assuming) damage, the sigils will aswell proc(air, fire etc.) or stack(bloodlust, corruption etc.) or give static boons(force, bursting etc.)
Yup, the business model atm the moment seems to be that when you buy an expansion you get the pre-exisitng content bundled with it. This of course leaves out LS season 2, which is acquired via gemstore and most likely LS season 3 will also be possible to get the same way in case you do not play it when it comes out.
Thing is as follows. Hammer for Rev might seem a good weapon at first glance but there’s a few problems with it. First of all it requires rather good positioning to work efficiently in a teamfight. Secondly it is worthless in a 1v1 situation because of how predictable the attacks are. And last but not least it offers no sustain other than a frontal projectile destroy.
To summarize: Do not use a hammer, or if you do be a hella good player. Use staff instead(good dmg, cleanse, heal, block and ridiculous CC)
ps. Also since you are not oo familiar with the class I would definitely not recommend some full dps build, instead grab a paladin amulet and trait the retribution line for increased sustain. After you’ve become more accustomed then move to marauder amulet(gotta love 94% crit chance with fury)

For anyone wondering where to go for succesfull kills in EU there’s GuildWars2Community, Opencommunity and WUMS atleast. I’m too lazy to post for links but just google them and they have calendars and so on for when it happens.
All the stuff above would be fantastic if they were to add it. That being said reworking the game engine, upgrading older weapon/armor graphics, resolving clipping issues etc. is most likely pretty low on the list of stuff for devs to do.
Anyway, if you would like your game more shiny or gritty or whatever(personal preference) I suggest taking a look at using ReShade. The shaders and other tweaks it offers weigh pretty heavily on GPU, but atleast for me that was not a problem since GW2s game engine is quite notorious on being too CPU heavy and mostly ignores your GPU.
Must ask, why would you wish to repeat a crafting profession? Anything that you craft will be either not bound or account bound(asc gear, legendary gifts) so you can just create the stuff on one character and then transfer the stuff to a diff one.
The new BL staff out today makes a hell of a melee staff.
I noticed, and after I finished drying my keyboard, because of you know, all the drool, I dished out the ~90g to insta buy it sine no BL tickets. Zero regrets, it’s a thing of beauty that one.
Just RNG, sometimes you just get less stuff. And IMO less iventory clutter while exploring is just nice.
Ok, for finding a pvp guild do try asking while being in the pvp lobby. Allthough I think we all know that that particular map chat can be… challenging… to deal with sometimes.
You can also try the “Looking For” -section in these forums: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/community/lookingfor
I think the “Transmuted item will behave as such and such”- warning is in effect here so you need to buy the 1st stage wings again. Or you can try submitting a ticket to see if support would add the item back to you since you did already buy it once.
Yeah I agree that Anet has pretty much ignored smaller guilds with the GH design. And even if the capture of one is possible with 5 people(we had 6 if I remember correctly) it’s surely not balanced.
The upgrading however seems to be surprisingly balanced, since my small guild with 30 or so members(less than 10 actually active) leveled up the same, or faster, pace than some large guilds I know. With that it’s just a matter of putting the GH to a higher priority than your own personal wealth I guess.
Don’t really know how Anet could improve too much upon the existing underwater combat system. That being said I also do think that being underwater in GW2 is mostly a drag and unenjoyable and something should definitely change with that.
Biggest problem with being underwater in the game is probably the fact that some classes are totally useless whereas some classes are ridiculously overpowered in comparison. OP brought up Rev so I could point out that it is one of the op classes underwater, Shiro stance, spam skill 2(no cd, 0 energy cost) and just use impossible odds as often as possible, things just die without thinking.
Now maybe they should have taken the chance to improve the system when we had an influx of new players around HoT release, but now even those people have gotten to the mindset where they avoid being underwater as much as possible. Because what use is there to develop new content for a community that dislikes the current content(no pun intended) we have?
Woodenpotatoes also had a video about using Yolomouse and he also links some lore friendly cursor skins to go with it, definitely recommend checking it out.
