Yeah of all the things to nerf, why that? God forbid we have a situationally semi-useful ability that almost no one uses! If anything it needed a buff.
I can’t get onboard with only temporarily disabling this trait. IMO, it should be moved to a major trait, and the minor should be replaced with something that benefits all types of builds.
Please quit forcing anybody who wants the trait for their staff, toughness, or boon duration to take minion skills. Some of us do not want to play minion Necros.
Basic idea for replacement minor: Gain 1 Toughness for every 2% life force you have.
Thats not much of an argument, what if you want minion stuff and dont care about toughness? What if you’d rather have…precision or whatever. You’re forced into it to get the other stuff you want. I’d love condition damage but I can’t take that line because the minion stuff is in other ones. The way they haphazardly allot benefits to the trait lines is kind of lame for all builds not just a problem with reanimator. Just make the little buggers not trigger content like on lupi, and not rally people in pvp, then its just a dab of free damage with a necro-y flavor to it. I don’t see why that is so hard for anet accomplish =/
There’s an easy way they could fix a ton of the difficulty running a MM setup…let the blood fiends heal affect it and all other minions as well as its master. That would keep them up through minor aoes, poisons and bleeds, but they’d still get rocked by bosses and red circles on the ground. Let us call them back like ranger pets, that along with blood fiend healing the horde would be perfect.
I don’t want it removed, I just want it to not suck. Why do they have to degenerate at all? Let us have up 3 or so that last until they die, the bleeds they do actually pile on and help out alot if they are able to live. Make it the 25pt minor if you want, I’d still be 30 in death for all the minion traits regardless. Just make it so ALL minions/pets can’t trigger content/aggro things/rally people in pvp, etc. Until that happens people will keep hating on them no matter how useful they are.
I think all the necros need to stop the QQ. So you got some bad patches, so what? So did several other classes in the game so far, but they’re starting to fix them and taking steps in the right direction. The last patch may not have been what you were expecting, but from what I saw of the other classes patch notes I am every pleased with Anet. I’m sure they will direct their love over in your direction soon enough, for now just think of it this way: If you can master the current semi-underpowered necro just think of what you will be capable of when they finally get around to buffing it!
Stop QQing? What other class has their main weapons not work half the time? Can you imagine the uproar? What if thieves and warriors missed 50% of their attacks? What if 50% of the time elementalist spells decided you know what, I don’t think I want to cast after all. What if ranger pets died in the ‘unique and exciting’ red rings covering every inch of the ground that every single boss has to spew…oh wait that one is true. But at least rangers can call them out if they are observant, we can’t even do that T_T If anyone deserves to QQ its us. And Engineers, they can come aboard the QQ train as well, turrets are in almost as bad a shape.
Speak for yourself, I and I’m sure many, many others play this class for the sole reason of having minions. Every game, everywhere, since the dawn of time has necromancers as a pet class. Just because you don’t like it don’t assume most people dont, why did you make a necro in the first place? If you want to pew pew go play an elementalist. I would be overjoyed if they fixed minions and made them viable…in fact I want nothing more than that to be their main priority. I could care less about DS UI, condition stacking or whatever else until minions are up to par. And I thought the jagged horror change was at least a nice bone they threw us, I actually had 2 up at once for the first time ever.

I noticed that too…I hope that’s normal and not some glitch making me redownload things.

You’re welcome
May you live happily ever after!
The ranger pet marsh drakes in beta were crocodile looking creatures, and in fact the pet icon in the management tab is still the same crocodile looking version. These also still exist all over the place in the wild but are no longer tameable. The marsh drakes we have now bear no resemblance to their icon, and are a lame cut+paste color swap of the red salamander drake pets. Just wanted to put that out there, to either give back the crocodile ones or at least change the icon to not mislead people into what they are getting, was really disappointed at the change =( Thanks.
