Since this game turned out to be a supreme disappointment after Guild Wars 1, I take that a step further and play other games. They add the function of “fun to play” which this fails at.

A game designed to be social needs a decent LFG tool, note that LFG tool and “random group insertion and teleport” are very different things.

Why has it taken so long is a lot easier to work out though, look at the cross server guesting – how long ago did they roll that out and would you consider it finished enough? There is a soft pre-requisite for that to be sorted for a good LFG to actually work…

If you played GW1, you’d realise that it’s not that hard. transferring servers could be done within the world, party search was an actual thing, not (only) a spam in LA.

Guild Wars 2? There’s almost nothing in this game other than the setting which evokes the feel of the first game. I played GW1 for five years, came here super excited, expecting the same design ideas and a graphical update.

Well I got the graphics update, and a Z-axis that routinely screams at me that the mob I’m trying to kill is INVULNERABLE.

None of the mechanics, none of the difficulty, just a cookie-cutter MMO (without an LFG system) designed for the WoW crowd.

Thanks ANet, guess I’m out. Now I see why people left GW2 for GW1.

Anyone who comes in here to tell me to use an external website to mimic a function that’s integral to the game can save their time and not post. Guild Wars 1 utilised a party system had an LFG working, and that game was around for SEVEN YEARS before this one came out.

Hmm, they usually say that using a KB to do stuff that’s physically possible is fine, but not to record scripts. The G-Series keyboards they gave as prizes in Guild Wars 1 would have compromised their own policy otherwise.

To say there’s no communication between those SoS guilds that transferred to BG without the mention of any form of “assist” is just being naive or deceitful.

I can confirm that we, Nocturnal, paid 1 Million gold to get all the guilds over to Blackgate.

I would have been able to take the video a lot more serious if there wasn’t so much swearing. The profanity, to me, changed the video from ‘motivational’ to ‘comical’.

My thoughts exactly. If you are going to record a motivational speech, you will come across a lot more intelligent without the profanity. You didn’t see MLK saying kitten this or kitten that now did you? Video didn’t last 2 minutes for me because I thought about some wow troll trying to get me pumped up to fight.

Wow, really? BG has clawed its way to Tier 1 three times since I joined it – three. Nobody paid people to come to us – guilds saw how hard we fought, how we didn’t give up, how we didn’t make excuses when we lost. Even after a LOT of guilds left and other server trolls labeled us cheaters we pushed past it. Every time we rose back to the top we came out swinging, we gained more people, we gained more momentum. Maybe SoR can do that too, but first you’re going to have to stop living in the fairytale land where every other server is evil, every guild you fight are cheating scumbags, and the only reason you’re losing is because you’re the only one ‘playing fair’. Nobody wants to move to a server that is that toxic to the rest of the community. The fact is, every server in this game thinks they have the best community – skillwise, there isn’t much that separates us at all – and we all have scumbags and cheaters. The only thing that does separate us is how we act towards one another – and we could all learn a lesson from Tarnished Coast there.

And for the record I find all this ‘stacked server’ nonsense really amusing, coming from a server that wouldn’t even be in T1 had it not been for massive guild transfers from SBI, and abusing the rankings to leapfrog out of T2.
