Wow, turns out you can’t link to the HoM calculator directly anymore.
I bought everything extra in gw1 including preorders and costumes and over the span of that game spent a good $400. This is the same for EVERYONE who bothered spending the time getting 50/50 HoM points.
No, I just bought GW, Factions, Nightfall and EoTN for reduced prices. I’ll never take off my Champion of the Gods title (unless I get GWAMM).
Thanks for the bonus chest ArenaNET,
to those seriously thinking that the achievement points is the true measure of skill in this game, you made me laugh out loud.
All of them come down to time and dedication. That is why I am happy to have the extra points.
Time and dedication? After you have a reasonable number of points, you can advance by 19 a day.
OH GOD, SO AWSOME PROGRESSION.
Seriously, people are grinding numbers to make a bar 99% of the game population doesn’t care about, to be the top 3 in a list that only a tiny fraction of people care about.

No more crazy than all of them getting Victory tokens, pumpkin pie, or four leaf clovers…
It’s a jumping puzzle in the middle of a PvP map. Why would anyone ever get into trouble for pvping in a pvp zone?
“we removed huge amounts of bots without any foresight on what that would do to a game economy”
..
“slightly before that, we nerfed drop rates and didn’t bring them back up after we banned the bot accounts”
..
“T6 mats and lodestones now available in the cash shop”.
Well with the current state of the cash shop and RNG, the players are now forced to wonder what the difference is between buying cash —> gems —> gold and just buying gold. Was that something ANet factored in when they nerfed farming with DR?
Long fight were you really need to fight to get the keep are fun so nerfing the banner just make it more zerg friendly fight were you just focus on the lord and skip the pvp…
Well let’s be completely honest, WvW is like Alliance Battles from GW1. It’s 80% PVE and occasionally someone will show up who you fight.
Yes, if the circles up, find the lord and pop the War Banner. War Banner rezzes all NPC’s within a radius.
Considering BG run’s more full map zerg’s than any other world in NA, I don’t know what your complaint is? For the rest of us, it’s something that helps the outmanned worlds.
Dude, we can’t counter MERC and not expect to hear about it from Karps.
Magikarps used Splash!
Not sure why you’re whinging, your magical hammer wells can’t immediately stomp an NPC and win a keep, so you want to get the game mechanics changed?
No wonder Amarathy yelled at you in GChat XD
Flame Legion Effigy, made from fire and wood.
Damage it with fire and poison, then make it bleed!
I disagree, I feel the tone has become “get as angry as possible without getting your posts hidden”.
Note the avalanche of “kitten RNG” posts that have mysteriously disappeared since the event started.
They did it wrong.
Dude, the forum is optional, you don’t have to come here.
“In looking to expand the condition diversity of thieves and mesmers, we decided to include Torment skills for those two professions as well.”
Yeah, neither of them have enough damage atm, good decision.
Needless to say hes hooked and has even decided not to bother with upgrading for gw2.
He made a good decision if i could get my 80 bucks back iwould do it in a second and return to the original game.
So much this.
LFG for Great Northern Wall HM
I suppose I expected humans to be smarter than chimps and understand that this isn’t the only lever. How silly of me. lol
You’ve played this game..right?
Google search “Smiter’s Boon Nerf”,
Then realise the intellect behind it works on this game.
Divinity’s reach just needs a MF in between the bank and TP and it’d be perfect/
Well she replied to my PM
So I guess you could say things are getting pretty serious.
^ This used to be a joke.
Banned for botting, moves in with someone from another country after meeting them online.
Ladies and Gentlemen, an MMO gamer.
OP’s post
Don’t reward time, reward luck!
The end.
I mean there’s NOTHING in Guild Wars 2 like a permasin. There’s nothing like a party of level 8 ursans (though probably zerker warriors come pretty close). There’s nothing like dual 600 monks. There’s nothing like Sabway. There’s nothing like a dual discord build.
I would dearly like to watch the current playerbase try to get their heads around 600/Smite, Permasins, or any of the more hilarious HA builds.
This is probably a valid comment. There’s certainly more skill involved in learning some of the Guild Wars 1 builds….HOWEVER…
Did I mention Sabway? No. And besides, after Discord came in, nobody ran Sabway.

And the idea behind the term korean grinder? None of what you do has any value or point to it, you grind “just because”. The same applies here. Why do we need to kill 300 holograms? JUST CAUSE! Why break hundreds of pinatas? JUST CAUSE! (2)!.
I didn’t played GW1 so i don’t know how stuff “should” evolve in GW2, but i’m sure GW1 doesn’t follow my points.
I mean, a game that is called “Guild, Wars”, where are these guild wars? where’s this competition that can create content?
because you have no idea what you’re comparing GW2 to, let me inform you
GW1 was an instanced MMO
The Guild Wars, were fights between guilds.
It’s a generic fantasy korean grinder MMO that just happens to be set in Tyria.
LMAO! Really?
Because I’ve played some Korean grinders…they’re nothing like that at all.
IDK ANET sure had me fooled into thinking it was when i checked the Dragon Bash achievements (Must just be a 1 time deal when they went overboard right?).
In a Korean grinder, it takes ages to level. Are you saying that due to this new content it takes ages to level?
Did you see my post about the treasure hunter title in Guild Wars 1?
/thread.
And how long did you have to get the TH title? Oh yeah, 7 years.
when your’e quite demonstrably wrong.
300 holos (spam 1)
150 pinatas (spam F)
250 candies (spam doubleclick)
50 effigies (Spam F then esc)
and that’s just the current “event”.
And as usual, there’s no backstory to any of this. Why the hell are pinatas around? They don’t even remotely fit the lore. Why Holograms?
And making fun of me, just because your argument has little merit, doesn’t make you right.
You mentioned to everyone yesterday that you don’t care what we all think of you.
However, you’ll need to press F 150 times before any of us actually pay attention to you beyond laughing.

Ah yes, in comes Vayne, and The People Shall Start Singing Patriotic ArenaNET Songs.

EDIT: I have removed the word “Korean”, as being owned by NCSoft and having the sequel largely dictated by them has absolutely Not Changed the direction of the game.
At All.
Nope.
(edited by Resonance.4216)
Only thing that i’d bring from GW2 to 1 would be the jump mechanic. WvW is already in it. (Alliance Battles)
Well it`s called Guild Wars so how about… GUILD VS GUILD FOR GOD SAKE.
That’s not what the title refers to XD
i get the feeling majority of u well under 2k hrs
Nope.
if you don’t care about skin and achievements, like me, this game is grindless, well almost
Guild wars 1 was barely a grind, because it’s entire endgame wasn’t based around skins, there was actually compelling content and story in Fissure of Woe, Underworld, Domain of Anguish, The Deep and Urgoz’ Warren
Yes, the skin grind was there, but it wasn’t the only reason to do them.
Only a grind if you are impatient. You have an entire month to do them so you don’t need to do them the day they are released.
Spreading out the time it takes to complete the task does not shorten the task.
This is fantastic work!
In general it’s pretty common for EB to have a queue to even get into, having a sizable group of players fighting an NPC is an equally sizable group of players who can’t get in who would actually be help
The whole idea of having PvE daily chests, JP’s and exploration objectives inside WvW is in my opinion a terrible idea as it encourages non-combatant “tourists” who take up valuable player slots but do not actually help
Duh, it’s alliance battles all over again.
Because it pops orange swords and wastes time.
ArenaNet: “Dial F for FUN!”
Playerbase: “Are you F-ing serious?”
hilariously, the gem store means that they can’t offer a new campaign through GW2 directly. People will just convert gold to gems to get it.
I don’t know, I haven’t run CoF P1 in quite a long time, and haven’t struggled money-wise. I suggest you play for fun, stop worrying about other people and what they’re doing. I’m aware this wasn’t your main point but to that I say, if it’s not fun there’s probably something else out there that is. Not to be a kitten. Also aware that’s a stock standard ‘suggestion’ but come on,almost 10 months in, do you expect anything else, any dramatic change?
So what you’re basically saying is that you’re just saying whatever you wanted to, regardless of the thread topic or content?
Why not post it in the Guild forum?
If you smash ten pinatas every time you go to LA (which takes no time at all), you’ll end up with the achievement by the end of the event.
But I do agree, it’s not brilliant content.
IT ISN’T EVEN CONTENT FOR CHRIST’S SAKE
“Press F 150 times!
Yay! You win! Woo!"
1) It’s may
2) no competition.
Sorry you missed it OP. It’s a lousy feeling when that happens.
That said, if you follow the game, and you play it, you should be aware by now that limited time events are part of the game. As already stated, it was far worse in Guild Wars 1 where you usually only had a single day to get the hat.
Name ONE time that happened. You used to be covered in bloody hats if you spent too long in Lion’s Arch during early halloween events.
Here’s a quote from an earlier post in this thread:
For example, the Dragon festival
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Dragon_Festival
Emperor Kisu will appear in Shing Jea Monastery every two hours (beginning at 2:00 AM / 9:00 (UTC)) and give everyone a Festival Prize. Then Celestial Charges will start to spawn around Shing Jea Monastery. Players are required to deliver the Celestial Charges to the Imperial Sorcerers before being caught by a Grasp of Insanity:
Oh yeah, I guess 12 occurrences in the instanced system that was GW1 for a festival that was repeatedly enormously fun wasn’t nearly enough for some people.
Sorry you missed it OP. It’s a lousy feeling when that happens.

I’m agreeing with you. It’s a statement, not an accusation.
The genre as a whole is oversaturated and by focusing on the casual crowd that consumes content in small chunks rather than diving in and burning out, GW2 has set itself up for long term success.
My bad. lol Apparently I need coffee before I hit the forums.
No prob, considering the way people have been acting towards you lately, I can understand why you’d be on the defensive.
Yeah, because it’s obviously all collectively our fault and none is his.
@the OP
Take the difficulty. You make really difficult stuff and if there’s too much of it, the casuals will feel the game isn’t for them. But there’s not enough difficulty the hard core guys will feel the game is not for them.
I’m fine with that. Guild Wars 1 was niche and successful. Gw2 has gone generic, and all these mediocre F-spammers are being catered to.
they do not play the game. how do I know this? izzy uses divinity gear on his warrior.
How to tell if your game mechanics might not be great.
Izzy “Sboon” Cartwright is involved.
omfg, this word
(????)
is turned into kitten
who runs the word filter?
Instead they turned it into another failed NCsoft korean grinder.
ncsoft is happily farming chronic gamblers effectively with RNG boxes. your statement is invalid.
And giving kids gambling habits, I bet
It’s amazing how much pakitteno rubbish is in this game now.
“Why did Domain of Anguish take so long to do?” <— because the reward was totes amazeballs
“Why does everyone and their cat run CoF1?”
Because it provides a huge reward for a 11 minute investment of time.
You can half that time with the right group.
LFG ONLY ZERKER WARS PING GEAR OR KICK.
Yeah, I’m not that much of a kittenwit.
