Few months ago I have burned nearly 800.000 karma for lvl80 exotic armor for alts just to realise it was soulbound – bind on pickup and stick to the character which wasn’t able to wear it nor sell it nor salvage it. Only option was to destroy it and spend agony by typing 18 times it’s exact name just to free up space in the bag. It was very bitter experience.

I was new to the GW2 and was accustomised to the World of Warcraft where vendor simply won’t sell you stuff you can’t wear (if it’s bind on pickup) AND there’s also 2 hours grace period you can return purchased items to the vendor to fully recuperate your currency.

GW2 is strict, if you overlook something, you can return to square one and start farming again. It’s barbaric, but it’s their rule. And I strongly recommend to tripple check before you do something.

In my case I was lucky, I have made ticked and very politely asked GM if there is a chance they can fix my problem. They replied they usually don’t do such services, but they can do one exception. They helped me via ingame mail to distribute armor to the alts.

So you can try to contact GM and see if they are able to help you. They are friendly, but help isn’t granted and you can’t demand such services. So it’s 50/50.

So far it’s 100% sucess in failure this year….. uh oh, sorry for this oxymoron.

It seems everytime online population grows up towards peak hours, game starts to hickup and eventually stops to be accessible for 30 minutes to 4 hours. Every day around 18:00. Until peak hours are over.

Fortunately for NCSoft GW2 is “buy 2 play” so they won’t lose subscribers even if they won’t fix it. People eventually stops to play, but it won’t involve the income much, except the purchases of shinies from the shop. For any paid mmo game this would be a suicide.

I can’t understand it. Whole development team had to put a lot of skill and effort to make this project alive, not mentioning massive cost for development and maintenance. How it’s possible there’s no executive manager able to put this issue into high priority ? It’s killing reputation of the team as a whole.

Game worked well during christmas time, but since New Year it fell back into it’s old routine 18:00-22:00 lag fest. It’s ridiculous it’s 3 + month long issue without improvement.

Time to do my “daily” pathping record and then test out some other game.

I am experiencing the same issue. Either in the Wintersday JP or anywhere else, I have killed myself multiple times in the Silverwastes maze entrance that way. Falling damage can drain 100% of your health pool in a two-three seconds.

Hmm im also from Aurora Glade. What about everyone else? It might be the common factor, considering guesting in to other servers can be used to fix it (kinda)

I just tried it again and to my surprise it was accessible, at least on 206.127.159.247 and I found there average / slightly lesser player population.
Then I joined jumping puzzle and when I left it IP changed and dropped me into limbo again / white screen of death with Code=7:0:0:794:101

Edit: I found few exceptions. Letter “a” returns one result, “for” returns two results… randomly, sometimes one sometimes none. So i think search mechanism still works, but is probably reffering to the old structure of the forum before “forum squish”

Hello, I am sorry, I am not sure if it was reported before, but because “Search this forum” function doesn’t work, I couldn’t search the forum and see if it was reported before.

Basically forum returns “Found 0 results.” on any keyword or sentence written inside

I have experienced the same, to be precise I believe it’s affecting everyone who joins the instance in the middle, people just do not report it as a bug. If you wait to the end of the encounter to see the scoreboard, you will notice plenty of names with 0 score.

Dinity Reach is inaccesible, as everyone else mentioned, game is stuck on loading screen , eventually game collapses with white screen of death and omnipresent errormessage.

After one week when game went smooth (I haven’t played frequently, but in the time I was logged in game didn’t kick me out) lag spike AGAIN kicked me from Tequatl encounter and I can’t log back. I think it’s 7-th time I am experiencing such issue in last 50 days.
If you can’t fix your lag spikes, please at least do something with encounter / rewarding system. Spending such a long time waiting and participating on encounter and then being kicked into overflow…oh wait…game kicked me even from overflow server, nevermind.

Patch downloaded extremely fast , yay! And immediately when it finished download game is unable to log in. Nay….

Every patch day is a bug day in every MMO, so it was bit expected and pardoned. But I really hope they will catch and zap the bugs that are flying around since last few patches first before they move forward in distributing new content.

The schedule of the updates is bit tight and they seems lacking people to keep up with what management planned ahead. And this is clearly manager’s fault.

Back to the topic: game kicked me two times, but for some strange reason Tequatl DIDN’T lag at all and was successfully killed. But! 20 minutes later I am standing still in the mount maelstrom and lagging bad…. disconnected. It’s time for my daily pathping test. I think I should have made macro, it’s daily problem

My daily disconnection! It’s returning like an old, unwanted guest.

Same symptoms as always – gume runs smootly until – bang —-—game lost connection, unable to relog (please wait hour or two and maybe you will be allowed to finish your dailies. Perhaps). This time at 22:10. Peforming my daily pathping…

Negative here as well, game went fine whole day, at 22:35 CET it started lagging until it kicked me out. Now it’s unable to log in. Even with -clientport 443 shortcut.

I am now performing pathping test, at this moment game works again after 15 minutes lag-wall-pause… wait a moment…no…. lag is back. Character is still online, but reaction time is about 2 minutes when I wrote “/ip” into map chat.

2 hours late the game is still terribly lagging (on funny side, game refuses to “logout” because of lost connection ). Ping to the actual IP thru CMD is 23-38ms, ingame lag is 5000-9000ms. Game usually collapses with white screen back to launcher.

Funny part is after I made recent post, I got DC on Tequatl encounter. In very last phase , literary 10 seconds before victory. And now it’s impossible to log in.

Similar issue happened to me 3 times already (over 80+ Tequatl kills, so it’s relatively rare in my case) : 2-3 minutes prior encounter game disconnected.

My theory is there was some file/material/texture/whatever error that game engine was unable to handle (perhaps some player character with rare/buggy texture). But that’s just my theory.

I don’t belive you have got kicked to free up space for some “higher priority” player, but who knows. Maybe there’s some mechanism that can prioritise. But that would be more like a conspiracy theory

Personally I would like to see some anti DC mechanism that can preserve your position for short term time window (150 seconds or so). Before game puts you into empty overflow server.

LFG gets suppressed as a too many messages

Try to use different sentences each time you write title/party description. Antispam bot is very rough in this game. I think it will silence you if you write same sentence more than 4 times over 10 minutes .
At least it happened to me when I was searching other player for achievemnt in the map chat (and no one responded in 10 minutes, until I was suppressed). Despite fact I was waiting 3 minutes inbetween my messages.

I suppose system wont block normal chat, unless you’re very fast with your keyboard. On second thought, who knows. This game blocks many of your activities if it’s repeating too much, like farming same mobs or doing same dynamic events. Each time you will have to deal with dimishing returns.

LFG Tool BUGGED

I think I have seen about five threads floating around this forum about such bug since it elevated with last tuesday’s patch. So far I know there’s no official response on it (140 hours and counting) . I suppose they are solving other bugs meanwhile.

Threshold is 4 messages per 10 minutes if it’s the same line I think. Yesterday I have experienced the issue when I was searching someone for costume brawl champion in Lion’s Arch. Nobody answered so I “spammed” the same line three more times over next 10 minutes and found myself supressed. And naturally missed the daily achievement.

When it happened I found it’s also impossible to write single letter into group description inside (currently broken) LFG tool. I don’t think it was this intention when they applied the rule.

Antispam, that’s okay mechanism, I can understand that, but if it’s blocking gameplay, whether it’s looking for players or doing WvW, then it’s a problem. Unfortunately repeating same sentence is sometimes only way how to drag PUG’s attention.

LFG tool is now moreless like a lottery. You never know where or in which party you will end up. Only thing you can be sure is you will be supressed.

While you will be fixing it up, please can you add indicator whether destination is still available ? Joining party while map is full is frustrating, especially if it happens tripple time in a row and ….voila….you’re supressed for excessive usage of the LFG tool.

I do understand it’s still experimental and beta tool, but game does have build in indication which is effectively blocking players in joining full maps. It shall not be problem to add red light background under groups located in full maps. It would make encounters like Silverwastes or Tequatl a little bit more comfortable / less annoying.

ping to 206.127.159.xxx returns low latency and few percent packet loss (through CMD), yet in game it’s 5 seconds lag and DC with black/white screen of death. Login servers are extremely slow, but sometimes (1 out of 5 attempts) it’s possible to log in. But not for long, game usually freezes on loading screen.

Same here. I was doing JP when game started lagging. I have logged out to character screen re-selected character and game stucked on loading screen. After ALT+F4 game doesn’t let me log in and returning error

Update 2: Play the Game button worked, I have made it to the game > character selection > game. Skill response was without lag, but few seconds (!) later I have received message “Client lost connection (bla bla bla)” and game went into black screen of death / character selection screen.

Update 3: I have logged onto server 206.127.159.143 (attached ping protocol), messages to /s or /map had 5+ seconds delay and game kicked me out after 1 minute.

LFG bug

Hello, LFG is still broken. It’s refreshing list everytime someone joins the party/leave so it displays “slide in” animation for every party listed in LFG / displayed list. Except first one of the list.
Since for the open world content it’s refreshing almost every quearter of the second, it’s almost stroboscopic and I believe it can cause epileptic attack.

last 2 days game went very smooth until today. Inbetween 16:30 and 17:05 game started to hickup. Just to be sure what’s going on I was performing ping test through classic cmd command. (in the attachment).

And… look into the log. 0% packet loss, one timeout within 25 minutes of recording. This makes me confused. Game was in it’s classic laggy phase, all icons blinking all skills held for 5 seconds and more , yet ping was 23 ms all the time. (and yes, i was recording logs from IP server I was currently connected)

Isn’t there any bug in the code that makes part of the issue ? Some missing / corrupted file ? In the moment Tequatl used his fear ability….game stopped lagging and everything went allright since then until the end of the encounter.

thanks for reply Blude. After this issue I have encountered lag spikes in open world. Something like 2 second long lag spikes every 10 seconds. TRACERT shown nothing as it hit the “OK” moment so I am now running few minutes long ping session to see if there will be some packetloss areas.

Hello, I know disconnections during Tequatl encounter happens sometime to everyone in GW2 and I have been no exception in past few months. But it was quite rare. Once or twice in a month.

But I have been booted out 3 times today. Considering fact it’s 15 minutes long encounter and you have to be on place 20-30 minutes on spot before encounter starts, it’s a lot of wasted time. Not mentioning the frustration.

I understand it’s impossible to maintain 100% perfect connection for every participant, but wouldn’t it be possible at least to reserve spot from the map you have been prior disconnection ? Something like 3 minutes long grace period.

Classic bug (code=5.11.3.159.101) on ArenaNet side, it just seems it does have some minor variations. In my case after multiple attempts I can actually get into the map I was aiming for. Each attempt client crashes but there’s always minor chance it pass through. And my character can be played again.

I suppose chance depends on amount of players trying to get to the certain map. Prior Tequatl or Karka event for example.

I think change of the GEM conversion system was very unfortunate. It just added one more obstacle to prevent players to use the system.

But what extremely facinates me is the MAGIC they did with prices. It skyrocketted from 14.5 G / 100gems to something above 20G.

Vendor / Salvage / BL bug

One of my characters (not all of them, just one at the moment) is experiencing problem with selling items, salvaging them or placing them to BLTC.

-button “Deposit all materials” affects only few items, the rest must be individually deposited one by one.
-some of the items in the inventory can’t be sold on Black Lion Trading Post despite fact those aren’t soulbound / account bound. And only way how to solve this is to place those items into bank and sell it via another character.
-several grey items can’t be sold via vendor and / or are invisible at selling tab
-random items can’t be salvaged until it’s placed into bank and salvaged by another character.

resetting game / restarting computer doesn’t change anything. Problem persist multible days, probably since last mini patch.

Some players, in the past, had success with changing the Language of the Downloader when stuck while trying to download all the files.

It may be worth a try.

Connection Error while Installing/Re-installing [merged]

I am another one in the line. After 10 months I have decided to give another try to GW2 and received ’Connection error(s) detected. Retrying. . ’.

So far I can say it stops in random moment of download. Once when it downloaded about 9 gigabytes of data, second time after about 4.5. When I flushed DNS and performed several other recommended actions ….and plugged out / in my modem, it resumed download just to get stuck again after another 300 MB data.

So far when clients isn’t returning the error it’s downloading at 1-2 MB/s speed.
