Just wondering – if you have no intention of doing the Dungeon path is it actually possible to get the Meta through the special twilight dailies or do they need the dungeon as well?

At least you can actually get into Deso – god knows how – ive been trying to get in to my home server ( Deso) for 3 days – I cant even get in at 4am waiting over an hour in the overflow – this is ridiculous.

Any tips for Engineer would be appreciated if anyone has them

Gandara hasn’t beaten him yet I’ve never been able to get on its server for Tequatl.

It’s easy, just try like 10 mins before the event, and you will easily get in.

I logged into Deso 2 hours before Teq was due TWO hours – and was unable to get in – in fact ive only managed to get in once – at 3am, and when I died and WP got thrown into another bloody overflow.

I don’t know if this is ‘normal’ or not as I tend to avoid anything that puts me in an overflow due to the Laaaag issues I have when places are busy – I was trying to do Teq having got lucky enough to get into my main server I died and people couldn’t rez me so I released – and was put in a overflow that had about 20 people in it mostly dead – talk about annoying seeing as we had Teq down to 25% I didn’t get any reward either

Ahh managed to get the sticky link to open now have it

Maybe ive missed it but I have had a look around – there used to be a sticky somewhere showing end dates and times for events – I need two more achievements for Chaos and have no idea if its doable as I don’t know when it ends!

Oohhhh thx – well that’s me buggered because I cant do the timed jump through the lava at the beggining on that one – I really really cant jump lol

So its a royal pain in the kitten getting the Ascalon sky pirates achiev if like me you cannot do puzzles they are pretty much bugged – so I went to the new puzzle which is easy to get to the beginning part and killed about 20 aetherblades by the cache before noticing – none of them are counting??

Surely this isn’t intentional?

Actually meh dont bother you have done the impossible and thrown me at least temporarily back into the arms of WoW

The giant ones have only ever given me 1 jumper – the Mediums have given 2, that does seem abit ‘off’ ive done both ‘Dungeons 3 times and openeda few presents in the open world – many of the open ones didnt give me anything! Currently sitting on 20 ’ugly’ items – it going to take a while to get 100 maybe ive been unlucky?

Wow, if a 1/3 is a little i would love to see know what a BIG change is considered to be.

Ive only just got my Engineer to 80 and am fairly new to the game – i didnt want to go Grenadier but still have the option to get out grenades when i do WvW the odd time to at least be helpful – whats the point now?

There is not one Engineer themed medium outfit in the game as far as i know – not one.

Ive just hit 70 on my female Asura Engineer and Im sooo fed up of looking like a butch pirate – and the only alternative is getting a ranger or thief selection – you think you have it bad OP!

I cant even jump properly when it IS working, its pitiful and has stopped me daring to try Dungeons – those of us with spacial awareness issues are done for lol

To be fair, it’s only been 2 weeks since the Lost Shores patch.

Hmm, with an MMO life of only 13 weeks – 2 weeks is actually a fair chunk of time

Its really hard starting out in this game now – im fairly new just over 4 weeks, i know your first character in any MMO shouldnt be rolling in cash but ive just hit 70 and am poor
- add in the lack of groups in the open world to do harder events/champs/vets with and this loot nerf and the market going crazy so good armor is now 3 times the price it was and i just dont see how people that wernt in for the initial ‘gold rush’ will manage.

Just had another an email from Wow offering me 10 days free play time in MOP, shocked that im so dissapointed here im considering it – its soul destroying to have fairly weighty charges for WP and death and to get bugger all money and loot when out and about.

Told my sister to not buy it for my niece for xmas.

In a desperate attempt last night to take over the Ogre camp in Plains of Ashford solo so i could actually get the POI , i gave up after killing countless Ogres and around 15 Veterans ( fast spawn) needless to say – i didnt manage to win the camp and i got exactly NOTHING from the veterans

Several days of looking at the game in various places online tells me that i had a good rounded view of exactly what the game was short of playing it – so rather than kittening at me for ‘not understanding the USP’ – how about we turn it around and say that Anet did a questionable job of making their approach clear – and i have a multitude of proffessional gamer journalists, saying no more power creep/vertical progression that back me up – you know – those same journalists that were given the heads up on the game direct from Anet and invited to play and ask questions so that they would produce positive reviews.

But by all means make pithy put down statements where you wallow in your own sense of superiority – it just reminds me how much the community has changed here – i almost feel at home having come from Wow

I did a significant amount of research into GW2 before i bought the game – i was looking for an MMO that was horizontal progression ( after an initial levelling period to learn the game) and more ‘sand boxy’ than WoW without the horrible funnelling through linear quest chains within zones that characterised new WoW xp’s.

GW2 was the closest i could find to that – its USP ( unique selling point) appeared to be lack of treadmill and access to all areas of the world no matter what your level or if you had taken a break. I bought the game ultimately on the lack of treadmill which many WoW type players would have done because after all whats the point in leaving your established MMO to start all over again if its a grind?

I can assure you i am the worlds biggest cynic having worked with PR types for years and i felt confident that – gating, elitism and unaccetptable levels of grind, vertical progression were NOT what the game was about.

You have an official point of contact between players and Anet riiiiiight here – its called a forum – its where the majority of people look for updated information on the game.

Not Twitter.

Not Facebook.

Not Redditt.

So why insist of disseminating information to these and not your actual forum?

Im torn to be honest. Im somewhat pacified by people commincating with players – that DOES make a vital difference. But it does still sound to me like there will be a constant need for ‘upgrades’ of gear – it may not be called a tier, but in essence there will be ‘mini’ tiers, with higher infusions etc – you wouldnt be able to leave the game for 8 months and not potentially come up against issues getting into any content you feel like when you come back.

A refund is the equivalent of almost 6 months sub for Wow – where i have very established characters and im swimming in gold – and also where i knew beforehand what i was getting into with gated content.

I dont want another wow

I suspect that the actual artistic people involved do want a non grind game that isnt ‘wowlite’
I also suspect he’s sitting there with a boat load of linguistic word managers with an open phone line to those with the purse strings – and having spent most of my working life having to deal with PR types who would rather chew their own foot off than call a spade a spade the cynic in me says that the current named tiers may not be added to but we will have new ‘mini tiers’ in terms of the upgrade slots infusions etc
Jusy is still possibly out for me but hell i have 80,000 gold sitting on 12 characters in Wow if i want that type of ‘progression’ ( read tier grind)
