Anet they had over 10,000 testers who said the game was to hard and needed dumbed down to a level never seen before,

Apparently those 10,000 testers are players that do not exist in the game, and never will. A good portion are probably mobile games. Instead of catering to the players that are and have always been loyal, the ones that advertise the game to others and expand their experiences to everyone they come in contact with, they have instead chose to turn a blind eye to us. This makes it really hard for me to recommend the game to anyone in its current state as they clearly don’t care about players the actually care about the game, but to players that could care less about the game.

Its a really poor way of choosing the direction of the game based on that statistic… Just look at the results it yielded…

I think they’re compelling as an idea. I think the execution . . . leaves a lot to be desired.

The whole idea of reusing already existing content and turning it into a reward isn’t a reward at all. It’s a punishment if anything, and it’s creating the very grind that they were trying to innovate out of their game from the beginning.

The whole thing failed in every way. And they need to accept the fact that their research is wrong and its time to fix it before the damage is permanent.

To echo what Gaile said in the aforementioned thread brought up by Healix, key farming is not considered an exploit.

You say its not an exploit, but you sure made it a much more time consuming process. I almost feel like this is the only reason you changed the story content, as there is no positives from limiting players from accessing content immediately upon starting the game… Its a real shame your going that route to trying to push people to pay for keys who were never going to buy them to begin with.

Be sure to read over the OP as I am trying to keep it up to date with links and info. If anyone has anything they think I should add to it, please let me know.

Is there a way to go back to the old style of viewing content by page or will there be a way?

I know you can change it to “I am Evon Gnashblade” mode and make more results smaller, but is there a way to change it any other way than that? I don’t really like the scroll as I keep losing my place when I’m buying something. When I click down it scrolls down an uneven amount.

I wont settle for anything half way to where it once was. I gave up on the trait system battle a couple months back, but that was a huge mistake because look where we are now!

After this I’m requesting this whole situation be fixed along with the trait system. The changes are completely unjustified. Majority has proved they dislike the changes so do something about it for freaksake.

I have to watch my language because I’ve been banned 3 times in the last week, once for using the word kitten…

Yeah the removal of the hint system was a pretty bad change. I think they should have kept it. This leveling info pop up is only temporary and once you click accept, your hints are gone for good.

Hopefully they will talk about how they are going to clean up this mess. Atleast give us an option to toggle this level system off if we wish to.

82% Don’t agree with the changes of that 37% Hate the Changes…

9% Are indifferent, and only 9% actually like the changes… According to these statistics they really made atleast 4x as many people upset than they made people happy with these changes.

I am extremely upset with these changes and have gone from playing an average of 6-8 hours a day to now barely even an hour… and I will not be buying anything in this game until this new leveling system is removed.

Yeah the WvW upleveling is something I noticed and its a horrible way to punish new players. The new system is unplayable as a new player… its sad

The recent patch ruined a very important aspect it claims to have been trying to fix… The level 80 experience is pretty good… Goodluck with anything below 40 though… its a sorry excuse of ‘rewarding’ leveling experience.

LOL they are scaring off the very people they ‘claim’ to be catering towards. What a joke Anet… great job with that update to ‘enhancing’ the new player experience. Your ruining your game for EVERYONE!

Nope… they made it 1000% harder to key farm… and chests drops are maybe 10% better… its a complete waste of time now farming keys and buying them still…

Take the cue… Fix the game… people that took a break from the game wont even stick around if they play this feature patch level gated content. Its a major downgrade.

Key farmers who spent money on the deluxe edition got ripped off… I bet they are pretty ticked about this update aswell. Really its just the whole idea of gating content. After 2 years they decide to do this… I just don’t understand. It wasn’t a good idea for 2 years, why is it a good idea now?

They will rename it… It wont be the VIP system… it will just be a monthly subscription lol..

I’m wondering when they are bringing in the China sub fee of 1000 gems a month for VIP, since they copy pasting things from their game over there.

I have enough tomes of knowledge to instantly get to 80 If you have only been playing a few months the complaints make more sense tho.

You know you’ve created something terrible when the only justification for it players have is using an item to skip it entirely.

This and a thousand times this… its sad that many players would rather bypass the leveling experience now as the content is restricted…

Yeah, the old system was really perfect pacing in my opinion. It gave you adequate amount of time and experience with each weapon before unlocking each skill. Really disheartening and sickening.

We all need a refresh course on dodge…

The level reward for hitting 8 is the Metal Aquabreather and Spear that you used to start out with whenever you created your character… What an amazing reward! So glad were actually being rewarded for leveling with the same crap we used to start out with by default!

I can’t even convince myself to play this game right now… Literally 1 week ago I was defending this game heavily, and how they have been releasing solid content frequently… now I really am sickened by this crap!

I just want to quickly add, there are some errors on this chart of how stuff is unlocking, as well as 1st character vs. account unlocks when some of these systems were carried between regions. We’re trying to identify what happened and repair those things assigned the wrong account/character fields, as well as levels.

Aka Copy Paste China Release… Real smart seeing as how well received your game was over there… NOT! You took a hated version of the game and crippled our region with it.

It’s not a revert to the horrible changes they made in the last few patches…

Well I’m so ticked at this update… I played this game pretty much full time without a break for the last 8 months. I’ve completed my dailies for over 200 days consecutive…

I jumped in to start a new alt for 2 hours and I’m literally sickened by it so much that I’m going to take my first break from the game since starting. I will be ending my consecutive daily runs today.

Time to play all those steam games I never had time to play, starting with Dark Souls 2

Look at the positive and most clever side of the thing: every level 2 completely unexperienced player can still open the LFG on FotM 40+ and click “join” on a party for level 50! You might not be allowed to use your downed skills, but heck, you can as well go and run the supposedly most hardcore-whatever-end-game content to their eyes, neat!

Goodluck getting in any groups with higher levels… they will definately be a lot more hate on low levels now!

Seems some people are able to, and some are not… my salvaging is even removed until level 15…

Every single ability is behind a level requirement unlock… The “new rewards” is everything we used to be able to do, now unlocked at a level… and I mean EVERYTHING!

This is sickening, it truly is… This is the worst patch changes since me and my wife started playing the game 8 months ago… I’m afraid you have killed those 3 alt experiences for me and my wife… really sad day indeed.

yeah it kinda sucks…having a story quest every 2 lvls or so had a great flow to it and kept things interesting, now it feels like a grind…
so every 10 lvls I get like, 5 story missions since they are not every 2 or 3 lvls anymore ?

Exactly… I’m so sick of this idea of locking content behind a level cap… Forcing players to play the level you want to…

I just leveled another character to 64 and I only have access to 6 of 14 trait points… not even 50% of the points and I’m over 75% max level… how is that progression? It’s been more painful than before…

I’ve really enjoyed the last 7 months since I got into this game. Within a week after new content comes out, I’ve completely played through it multiple times and then all I can do is look back at the news archives and see all this amazing content that I missed out on and can’t play!

It makes me jealous when I see someone with 20,000 AP and I think, “wow they have gotten to fully experience every bit of this game”. Sure maybe a few thousand of those points is from monthly/dailies… but I can’t help but feel like I’ve missed so much great content! I love the way Season 2 LS is going and how the content will always be accessible and even repayable with achievements! But that is only the last 2-3 months of content.

There is over 2 years of post release story content in the game and its a real waste that only the last 3 months of the story is permanently accessible. I’m very cheap with buying gems, but I’d definitely dish out some cash to play Season 1!

Also when I look back at last year I saw this Super Adventure Box Released in April and then again with additional content in September… So I was ‘Super’ excited to see that content this summer… but summer has now completely past and its over a year since the fall release of it and I read that its not going to be re-released anytime soon… and I think “WOW what a complete let down!” I think SAB, Queens Pavilion, and content like that should just be permanent, especially if your going to skip out on regularly releasing it…((

So much created content, but its being wasted away…

Currently I have 7k achievement points, full ascended gear, Fractal Reward Level 50, Dungeon Master, 100% world map completion, PvP Champion Slayer, I have enough gold to buy a Legendary but don’t care for one, I have a permanent bank access, trading post, and vendor… the only thing I haven’t really maxed out is my magic find, but I’ll be there in the next 2 months, I’m currently at 252%

So all I’m doing now is grinding the same content every day waiting for the next release and just saving more gold. Luckily the content is excellent, but I’m starting to get burnt out on it. I fear I’m getting to the point where I will just jump on each day to do the dailies and only be in full time when new content comes out. Anyone else feel this way???

I’m actually considering buying GW1 and it would be a good time since its on sale, but not sure if I’m going to be able to handle going in reverse…

So any purchased full body outfits wont require transmutation charges anymore? That’s great news then. Finally getting full access to use the items we pay real money for, instead of being infinitely charged.
