My point is, it isnt broken. You just think it is because you assume your supposed to get the sparks in before she regens her health past the 75% mark.

Has a dev ever confirmed anywhere that this is the only way to beat this boss? lots of classes have poison and poison fields. We have done it with a ranger, necro, engineer and a thief at one point or another and no not all at the same time.

I eluded to the white buff earlier. Might want to read it next time your in.

My point is, you think its bugged. that doesnt necessarily mean that it is. We are going on 2 months with this boss never seeing any fix with multiple threads like this one asking for a fix. I wonder why that is?

My guild and I transferred servers 4 weeks ago. 90% of us are still not receiving WvW bonuses given by point accumulation.

Again this is the 4th week this is happening. I am not talking about the orb bonus but rather the bonus from point totals. IE: gathering,endurance,crafting etc bonus.

Heres a tip for you…

if you get downed, do not attack or try to heal yourself. Lupi has an agro switch that auto makes him attack the person trying to heal themself. if you dont do either of those things, lupi will leave you alone while downed 100% of the time.

this fight is not about luck. its about how well you and your group can revive your team mates if they get downed. Someone has to be in agro range of him 100% of the time or he will reset. this person cant be a thief if he is going to stealth.

I see people say he is bugged because of this. it isnt a bug. its a predictable behavior and once you know it, you should never have him reset again.

I have to wonder tho if you will be in the thread about the new dungeon being released. Devs have said it will be the hardest dungeon in game. I bet Ill see your name there complaining.

Let me ask you a question. Why does Sinin get a buff 4 seconds before she goes invis? What does the buff do. Why would the devs put it on her? if you can answer those questions, you will know that attacking Sinin while invis is NOT AN EXPLOIT.

Oh and btw if you put 0 orbs in the slots, she will appear again 45 seconds after going invis. its a longer duration than the skelks but the mechanics are the same.

And block me all you want. I have tried to help you and all I have received is name calling back from you. It doesn’t bother me a bit.

Mesmers are the only class that tears me up. They are almost specifically built to counter my build. Do I whine and ask for mesmer nerfs? Nope. I am actively watching pvp vids and other research to come up with a counter strat. I made a mesmer and played it to get a working knowledge on class mechanics and most likely skill rotation.

Do i still lose to mesmers? Yup. I just dont lose 100% of the time now and my k/d ratio is improving. I put in a lot of work and time into getting to that point, to improve myself. Maybe thats too much effort for you.

Its not a cheating strat. You just seem to think it is. And no we dont attack air for several minutes. read the strat again. It takes our mesmer no more than 10 seconds to get the sparks in.

Every part of this game it is allowed to attack a stealthed person or NPC. In your opinion, you shouldn’t be allowed to hit Skelks when they stealth attack you right? Your not allowed to hit any cat NPC when they stealth / KB combo you right? Your not allowed to hit thieves in PvP while they are stealthed right?

If you are allowed to do any of the above, why do you consider hitting sinin while in stealth an exploit?

Again and really i never get tired of saying this. its you, not the game.

Umm exploit and attack her in thin air? She is there. You are able to hit anything while invised and stealthed in every part of this game. in fact, swinging at thin air in PvP is the best counter to most thieves.

The problem is, you didn’t have a good strat. I guess not being able to watch a video like in WoW has kittened ya. Oh wait, yea there’s videos on how to do this boss. So the ONLY logical explanation is that you failed because you failed. Not that the boss is broken.

Hmm exploit a fight. Well I will give you our strat.

We pull her to the back of the cave away from the spark spawn location. We beat her down to 50%, positioning ourselves around her and getting her stability stack to 0. Once she gets the buff we stun or daze her and our mesmer drops his haste and runs off and gathers every spark and runs counter clockwise. Our thief or engineer is poisoning her while we beat on her even tho she is invis. Shocker right? you can hit things that are invised or stealthed. We keep her health below 75% till the mesmer gets the orbs in. Never once had a problem getting orbs in this way in over 20 runs.

Rinse repeat for every stage.

Yea we exploit her.(/sarcasm)

No fix necessary. It isn’t broken. Your not doing it right. And I have passed the fight over 20 times now. Guess that was luck too. Guess it was luck to get my dungeon master title the second week of release. yea all of that was luck.

People are still crying about this…… Learn the proper way to kite the orbs and till the graphic bug is fixed for the spark prisons learn to keep track of the ones they go into. And bring some real dps.

Just because you got lucky and beat it doesn’t mean it isn’t broken, and isn’t worth bringing up.
Attitudes like yours are what quickly bring MMOs into mediocrity. You think you’re a special snowflake because you brute forced a glitchy boss? Well, fine. Bask in your glory and kindly don’t inflict your personality on us.

I would counter you with “People who always complain and ask for nerfs just so their ego doesnt take a hit when they cant do something” make games mediocre. Not the guy who straps on his boots and gets stuff done.

And your brute force comment? Sinin is a DPS check. Her whole mechanic is a brute force mechanic.

Why is it that some people like myself has 0 problems with thieves and the rest of you do? The only answer is that your not any good. Shocker right?

Well the advantage of dual axe I have already explained. The problem with your weapon choice is you have no AE to combat the thief’s stealth. Thieves can still be hit in stealth. They aren’t immune to dmg. You just have to correctly judge where the thief is going to be. Hammer is hands down the worst dps weapon a warrior has and no real AE. You also need a steady target to maximize the hammers CC in most circumstances. The rifle is a no brainer why it VS a thief is bad.

Like I said, i gave you the most likely rotation of skills the thief is going to do. Your weapon choice is your weakness. Want a weapon combo that totally wrecks any thief? Mace and shield. A kitten monkey can beat a thief with those.

Psst shield block with the reflect projectile skill VS a thief using dagger storm = dead thief. Thats if he even makes it out of the 2 stuns your just about to land on em.

I play a dual axe warrior and have 0 problems with thieves. I have yet to be owned by one. In fact they are one of my easier kills. Most thieves are so easy to guess what they are about to do. Just to prove my point heres a tip…

Most thieves que up cloak and dagger because it has a long animation time. Right after they que it up they steal to the target. So in 1 gcd your taking steal dmg,cloak and dagger dmg and most likely a backstab soon after. Then they use dagger storm and then the axe they just stole from you.

So now you know their rotation and can plan accordingly.

Not enough? heres what I do. The second a thief steals in on me I ignore pain, go into whirlwind and right into eviscerate. Why eviscerate? because of auto targeting. It will almost aways target the thief even in stealth. After evis, I dodge roll once turn 180 and auto attack the air. This has worked in every fight and Ive never lost.

Dont run axes you say? Hmm guess that GS isnt the best thing since sliced bread now is it.

Bullkitten, that’s exactly what you are trying to do.

This, and every other MMO that I have ever seen, exists solely due to casuals. In subscription based games, they are far and away the bigger percentage of the population, thus giving company X far more money than the very small section of the pie chart that represents the special olympics gold medalists, otherwise known as the ‘hardcore gamers’. In cash shop games as well, it’s the casuals that tend to spend more, and being the majority in those games by a huge margin as well, means that they are far more important to the company when it comes to the real bottom line, which is making more money.

Casuals are having far too much trouble with the only other PvE content available apart from simply leveling up (and the dragons whose loot is so bad no one wants to bother with them any more). If the casuals basically can’t do any content after hitting max level, the casuals get bored and leave very quickly, taking their money with them. A lack of money going to the game’s company is not good for the game. If anything, casuals should be catered to more than they are.

And then you guys wonder why MMos are failing so much. Take away the challenge from a game and you get exactly what casuals want. A game they can relax in after work for an hour……until the next shiny new game comes out and they drop the old one like a rock.

Got to ask you a few questions…. Are you ok with the last 7 years of MMO’s? They were built for the casual money pot. Can you remember any epic event from those MMO’s? I can’t. Were they built quickly with many bugs, and sold in an unfinished state?

Many many other questions i could ask you but that would take all day. Your right tho, the casuals are where the money is. Too bad it isnt where the quality, the epicness, the memorable, the challenging, or even the immersion of the past MMO’s who started this genre are.

Game companies have taken the MMO genre and turned it into a Call of Duty franchise chasing the casuals. You pay for it up front, you beat it in a few hours, you stop playing it and buy the next one in the series rinse and repeat. The minute they stop chasing the casuals, is the minute the genre gets reborn.

I soloed this fight in 16 minutes with 0 deaths and this is what you want the dungeons to be like? Come on. Its a fun fight for what it is, a holiday gimmick, but in no way should any explorable ever be tuned to this kind of simplicity.

I’m sooo tired of all the casual whining about the dungeons from pugs who dont talk to each other, are bad at the game in general, and have very little knowledge of game mechanics and their own character. Then they come here to say the dungeons are at fault. I am not trying to put you guys down but at what point do you say, “Maybe its me and i need to learn more”?

My first response would have surely gotten me an infraction so ill say this nice. Its no wonder theres so much whining if this event is the hangup for most groups. It isnt hard. just stand away from the mobs. have someone count to 3, on 3 kill your mobs.. then count to 3 again and everyone click.

I am sooo glad i dont pug this game. The more I read the more the movie Idiocracy seems to be coming true.

We have been clearing every explorable since the 1st week of launch on a weekly basis. Most of us have enough tokens for 3 to 4 more alts and having said that, we are losing 2 people due to out of game circumstances.

I will be holding tryouts for those positions this week and if your interested you can PM me here and i will get with you to set up a time.

What we are looking for is people who like to have a good time while achieving everything these and future dungeons have to offer. What this means is.. we do the dungeons for entertainment purposes and not for the tokens. This doesn’t mean we aren’t proficient at them. Arah path 1-3 takes us no longer than 1 hour per path give or take a couple minutes. All 3 paths of Ac and CoF take no more than 20 mins per path with some we have done in 12 minutes. Etc etc.

We also dont run past mobs or try to glitch a boss for an easier fight. Do we clear every mob in the path in Arah? Nope but we kill everything along the way in a logical path to a boss. If you are a person who wants to make fights easier like pulling the Arah ape out of his room so he cant rez his adds, instead of using the staff and stopping him like the developers planned, this isnt the group for you. part of the enjoyment we get out of these dungeons is knowing we are doing them in the manner the devs tried to establish.

Last but not least, if you want to be carried or dont want to spec for the team as a whole, this isnt the group for you. Do we make you spec a certain way? Nope but its obvious a glass cannon build with 0 group utilities isnt going to get the job done.

Arah path 4 end of dungeon glitch

This has happened to my static group as well. We spent an extra hour clearing every mob in the whole section of the dungeon and no go. I assume theres a pathing bug there where a mob can either spawn under the world or paths under. We have resorted to not pulling the ones around the altar and just rushing them.

Again, downed is not dead. if your team mates do not have utilities to help get you up then its thier fault. Not GW2’s. Theres a reason all of those revive options are in the game.

Biggest problem in this game is everyone building a character just for themselves just like they would do in other games. Thing is tho, if you do this you will fail at this game. Build your character around your team and this game becomes flat out easy mode. I havent died in a dungeon in weeks. i have been downed multiple times but my team mates who built around the team have abilities that will get me back up in seconds.

Its gotten to the point where now on my dual axe warrior, if my health is low and my heal is down, I will TRY to die because 2 seconds later Ill be back up with more hp than i had before I died and little loss of dps compared to having to back away and wait on my heal.

This game is exceedingly easy once you figure out its a team based game and not all about you.

Heres a tip for you Jon… Your players are not stupid and in MOST circumstances, know more about the game than the devs working on it. This is true in just about every MMO thats ever been released .

I made this comment to my guild today and it was universally agreed…. There are more bots in this game than Aion had….

I left that game because of the bots and what they did to the economy. I am getting close to that point again. I have decided that i will not be spending any more money until something huge is done or I just leave the game .

Meh We just did it. it isnt too hard altho it is time consuming. Heres the strat that we did. We let the first wave go by us by standing to the right of the first bridge. This gave us time to kill the 2 adds with the robot. We ran back to the right of the 1st bridge and let the next wave pass. We then killed the robot and the 1st force field. Soon as it was down the thief stealthed the group, let the wave pass and we went on to the next forcefield and so on and so on. If you dont have a thief there are places in the wall a single person can back up in and the waves will pass. Once we got to the boss, we killed it at the doors in back..

Frankly I like the fight better this way. Made us use our brain for a few secs to overcome it.

The real issue is this…. most of the people who dislike these dungeons are the people who play bad DPS in other games and get carried by the tank or healer. Cant be carried too much in this game(altho my static is taking guildies who are noobier than any pug we’ve ever taken). Thats why I posted earlier about laughing at the people who cant do these dungeons. It isnt that I am being a butthead. Its that bad players are actually finding out for the first time that.. they are bad players. I find that to be funny.

The very SECOND you figure out that downed state does not = dead is the second this game will click for you. You must work together as a group. You must bring survivability utilities and utilities to help get other people back up. The reason pugs have a hard time is because pugs are notorious for no communication and thats what these dungeons take.

What you call insane, Ive been clearing since the second week of release with enough tokens to kit 4 alts out with now. It isnt the game. Its you.

I think the dungeons are fun. Then again my static and I dont do them for the tokens. We have cleared every explore mode multiple times and been doing it since second week of release. Ive got enough tokens to kit 4 alts out with. We go in with the attitude to have fun tho. We kid each other when we screw up. We talk BS and we laugh at most of the GW2 playerbase who dont like these dungeons and cant do them.

We also dont try to exploit the bosses and run past mobs. If you people would put as much effort into doing the bosses as Anet OBVIOUSLY intended, you would have a better time as well. Instead you’d rather make these posts.

Lower the health of all dungeon mobs in the game by 50%, raise damage done by 10%.

Why drop it? You a botter? its the only reason why you would want it dropped. if you arent a botter then many many posts about the problem will in fact show Anet how serious the problem is.

Fact is… botting posts are even popping up on a ton of message boards. Even reddit. You know its out of hand when a botting post on reddit gets 200 + points.

I can not fathom why Anet isnt doing more about these bots. Its not like they are paying a subscription and they are actually costing the company money being that they are the direct competition to the gem market.

I realize it takes time to develop software to catch the bots. Frankly tho, its almost getting too late. take a look at Aion. The game never recovered from the mass bot market at release.

Every day i actually see more bots than the day before. And frankly I have hit my bot/gold seller limit.

Just reading some of these responses. Its no wonder people say the boss mechanics are boring. Just reading the Op tells me most people would rather find exploits or ways to bug the boss than try to do them as intended.

Lets take the gorilla boss for example. People are pulling it out of his room to avoid resurrection of his adds. I can not WAIT till the devs put an end to pulling bosses out of their rooms. In the gorilla room there is a staff. The ability of the staff is a trap that stuns the gorilla. Guess what? You actually use the staff to prevent him from ressing his adds.

If people would do the bosses like they are designed to be done instead of trying to exploit them, you would have a much better and more fun time.

Oh btw, if the 4 people who stand on the Spouts of the tar elemental boss, continue to stand on the spouts, they dont spit out more adds. burning him with the alcohol also turns the boss’s adds into lava founts. All in all, other than the 1st initial pull, you shouldnt get adds at all. When the boss goes underground, have 1 person step off a spout just long enough to cause him to reappear.

I honestly cant wait till the make giganticus room doors close so you cant pull him out.

This is caused by the enemy or object rapidly turning its facing. IE: a boss switching targets and turning over and over. The projectile Ai trys to “guess” where the boss is heading but cant and hence you get the error message.

But you might say, objects don’t move and you’d be right to a degree but in a virtual world EVERY object has a front, back and sides. Even tho the object doesnt appear to move, its “facing” can. Want an example? The eyeball turrets that blinds and dmg you in Orr. They only shoot at one person but if you run around them, the turret doesn’t actually move but its FACING will track you.

Also did you know that everyone in the game can negate a rangers single target dmg 100% of the time? I posted the exploit in the rangers forums and how to 100% repeat it. That post got me a 3 day forum ban. The exploit( it really isnt an exploit, its ingame mechanics) works with NPC ranged as well. How about you FIX the broken crap before you try to balance.

Just my two cents. Everyone was using a shortbow not because it was too good(warrior rifle was still better raw dmg) but because it was the absolute LAST option we had to do dmg comparable to EVERY OTHER CLASS. You guys have “balanced” the ranger almost every patch since BWE1. Every weapon we have has had it dmg lowered in 1 way or another. You have forced us down the shortbow path.

As a ranger and a dev you MUST know that search and rescue suffers from the SAME bugs as lick wounds. If the body is on ANY kind of inclination the ability fails. On average these abilities work 2/10 times for me. Not only that but search and rescue require you to be within 900 range of the body or it fails altho if your ABOVE a target (IE: in a jumping puzzle) the range does not matter.

Have you tried to do the pirate captain in Arah? The one your supposed to hide behind the crates to avoid her balls of lightning that 1 shot you? Not so easy to get the pet behind that crate with its BAD Ai. If you dont get it behind the crate, any ball that hits the pet bounces off and hits you as well as anyone who is near you. In this fight our pet is a HUGE detriment not only to the ranger but to his entire party.

(On a side note to make this path interesting, i actually try to kill my static group mates with the bounce of the lightning without killing myself. Try killing the pirate with a group member actively trying to kill you)

You do realize your actually EXPLOITING this boss by pulling him to the waypoint? The boss does NOT reset randomly. IF no one hits him for 6 secs you fall out of combat. Thats when he resets if no one is in combat with him. IE: everyone stops hitting him to rez someone. You can ALSO just run away from him for 6 secs and get out of combat and just heal up when your health gets low. ALSO did you know a daze will interrupt ALL of his skills even tho the animation continues? IF you coordinate well you can totally negate both of his health regens.

Frankly, your just doing it wrong.

I would like to think these devs are thinking long term but from 15 years of MMo experience, thinking how games changes effect other parts of the game isnt a strong point.

If you make Explorables easy for any person to complete, you will negate any reason for people to buy crafted items from the TP. The tokens are already account bound now so people who are currently able to run them already dont buy anything. This is exasperated by the hacks and speed clears of the past month.

The only reason crafted exotics are selling(and the rate is slowing down by the day) is because it was easier to buy than to run dungeons. Make the dungeons easy and that formula will change and no one will buy crafted at all.

Theres currently a struggling crafter economy. Lets not make it worse. I do realize people craft for other reasons, levels and skill points.

Think long term before you make a change that can and will negate a whole other aspect of the game.

@op—-Top 50 guild huh? Sorry dont believe a word of it. Describe the Twins encounter. Describe the ocean part of the opening of AQ gates? Lets go earlier, describe blackwings throne(cant get this off a website only know if youve been there.)

Basically I call BS. Nobody who has done what you claim is having trouble with these ridiculously easy boss fights. The ONLY fight that is even semi interesting is Gigantus and only because he looks cool.

People are talking about how buggy the dungeons are. Funny that because I have only run into a few minor script issues and pathing issues that every MMo to date has to this day. I think your definition of buggy needs some adjustment.

As to dungeons. I am in PRX on HoD server. My static group and I have cleared the explorables. We found them to be fun and enjoyable even back when they gave crap tokens. During that time, most of our guild members were crying in chat about how broken and buggy the dungeons were.So for the last 2 weeks we have been running people thru them and showing how they are done with 0 exploits. Guess what they say in chat now? Yea, how easy the dungeons are and hope they get harder. Go figure right.
