HOPE step IV Problems: Succeeding at Failing

I got wraith on the first attempt; I was lucky and was on a closing map. They just looked at the events that were completed the least amount of times and chose them for the collections I am guessing.
I want more engineer themed back-pieces, maybe something that matches H.O.P.E.?
HOT didn’t change anything. It just shone a light on what was already there.
Bad players that refuse to adapt to the content that’s thrown at them? ditto.
This so much. I help people in TD daily, once most people learn how to navigate the map they love it. There are some folks that would rather put effort into their cries for nerfs and such, then into the game itself.
So they should nerf TT too, just because it takes some planning then? You’re funny.
I don’t see why nerfing the event would be better for the game, but okay.
Teq was “difficult” when it was first released too. People learned what to do, and it has become easy. Gerent will be the same way, if you can’t understand that I don’t know what to tell you. TT is more difficult then KotJ, not sure why you even brought that up.
And it is not what happened with TD, people are giving up on it already. It’s more like the case of TT and even TT doesn’t have such harsh mech on failure.
So you want it to be even easier to attract people? That’s what you are saying.
Wow that ending was really bad, ANet (Rant)

Is this like why people think Claw of Jormag is Jormag? xD
It sounds like you’re annoyed because the event is more than a faceroll. Maybe try in a few weeks when more people learn the mechanics I guess if you get annoyed so easily. It took me about 30 tries before I got on a good map. I don’t know what else to tell you? It is easier now that they have fixed the nodules.
What do you mean faceroll? A meta event with higher than 20% successful rate is faceroll?
Even you said it took you 30 tries, which most of the pugs won’t be able to endure. The worse thing about open meta is, unless you go with a certain big guild, you will never know how next map is even after 100 tries. You can’t know or decide they are experienced or not. That’s why people are abandoning it, that’s why open world meta shouldn’t be too hard.
Actually, many many many people are still doing the “faceroll” meta, and the hard content like TT became ghost town a lot of the times. You don’t ask too much for open world meta, it’s meant to let people work together, not to drive them away.

I wouldn’t say it’s just fine.
It’s certainly better than before. But could still use some adjustments.
The worst thing of this meta is that you can’t fail any phase,
In Teq it allows you to make mistakes. You can let the bone wall spawn, you can let some of the turrets gone, you can miss a boat/hill team, or you can even fail a battery phase. As long as you don’t make too many mistakes and be able to kill it in 15 mins, it’s fine. Even TT only require you to kill the heads in certain time with many mechanics. But in this meta, no, if any of the 4 lanes fail once=game over.
It could be worse, the turrets could die as soon as one of the chak makes it there. They should add a challenge mote for that.
I’ve killed it 7 times since the patch, it is much easier now. Happy?
I still fail every time, even had trouble with finding a map, I asked 20+ ppl and none of them have a 50%+ success rate. Happy?

I killed it twice yesterday, with randoms; the nodule “fix” has made this much easier. I don’t see what there is to fuss about now. It’s a fun event, leave it be.
I still fail at 1st phase, don’t use two of your tries to say it’s much easier.

New Legendaries no aura effect, seriously?

I don’t know, I am happy with my new shiny pistol. So happy that I am making a second one. The auras were part of the reason why I did not bother with the “old” legendaries, also did not help that anyone could just break out their cash and buy one.

I’m enjoying it, though there are several bugs.
Congrats! I finished HOPE last night, thanks to my guild. I am already starting to make my second one. GJ Anet.
Toxic kind of people, who want everything without effort,so they can link item in LA chat 24/7 just to TRY to make people jealous.
Just like the toxic kind of people that are ignorant when it comes to how much actual effort is required for the new legendaries…
I’ll see if I can explain it to you, though I can’t understand it to you. It took me 3 years to do a legendary. 62 days is not that long, I think the first legendary weapons didn’t start to show up in the core game till 3 months after launch. Seeing as 62 days is a lot less than 3 months it’s still quicker, yes time gates are a bad way to make things take longer, I’ve never been impressed by the legendary weapons in this game, I have the one I like, I can’t see me ever getting another one. I don’t enjoy playing in the HoT zones enough to even try.
If someone was to bleed them self’s dry of all funds and karma and go for a core legendry, I’m willing to bet it would take them longer than 62 days.
You’re missing the point entirely, but please continue thinking that those three years were a time-gate.
Requiring events to be failed in order to trigger an event that is needed is pretty kitten design. Nothing legendary about it, it’s just lazy. Oddly enough atleast for the new pistol this a non-issue until after you get the precursor.
Lol. 62 days…….. Dude, it took me nearly 3 years to make my Flameseeker prophecies. I didn’t farm anything just got it all a little at a time, spent gold on ascended weapons and armor. Then went back to crafting my shield. I finally finished it in August I think. 62 days is not long.
So how long did it take you to complete Astralaria? That is the legendary that this thread is about afterall.
Good zone, good event, kittenty cycle time.
Anet seems to have looked at the stats for least completed events and picked those ones for the collections. :P Obviously the person that made that decision doesn’t even play the game.
Lucked out and got a on closing map for Risen Wraith
Edit: Now to wait for people that are willing to make serious attempts at Gerent.

It’s not even that challenging to be frank. The first time that I did it, I felt it was like “baby’s first raid”. I’m not saying that it is not fun, which it is, but it’s no more difficult then what fractals are before you know the mechanics.
Spirit Vale is a once a week for a hour or two thing, not sure how that will destroy the game for me. More or less it is just another event my guild can do together, nothing special.
If you meant destroying the community rather then the game, that is also subjective. Most of the random people that I play with in-game are rational; If anything it’s the bitter-vets that are well bitter.

Wow, the old legendary precursors are cheap to craft when compared to the new legendary precursors :o
it hasn’t been done yet because it’s just not that funny.
Well someone at Anet must have thought it would be funny, otherwise you would not need to fails events to progress on the legendary quests.
Legendary Fail [FAIL] is now recruiting people to intentionally scale events up so that they will fail. We will help you fail to win! Random people getting in the way of you failing(winning) an event? No problem we will map join and scale the event up for you!
Disclaimer: This is a joke post, surprised that this has not been done yet.
It’s like they knew that this would happen and went ahead with it anyhow, to create yet another artificial time-gate.

I feel the same way about the flamethrower… I guess that there are not enough engineer players for Anet to make kit skins.
When, if ever, can we expect legendary effects to be visible while having a kit equipped?
Love the map, love the events, hate the cycle time. Doing the same events over and over again for 1-1.5 hours is not fun.
Did not pre-purchase HoT, will not pre-purchase the next expansion.
Wait, you guys don’t dump tens of thousands of dollars on this game like some people on these forums claim to???? What is this?
How is this significant. It’s words on a screen. It’ll be gone soon. Why does this warrant being talked about?
If you don’t like it fine. Why are you on the forums whining about why you don’t like it? Group approval? Solidarity? Text-abolitionist movement scouting????
Yet here you are whining about people “whining”.
I never did understand the concept of watching people that I don’t even know play a video game, guess that I’m the minority nowadays.
I can see it now…
T1: +10% to trash talking people in /s, /m, /t
T2: +10% to kitten size
Legendary precursor crafting.
Require T4 to open the raid, problem solved.
Engineeer is my favorite class, people like different things. I hear people that keep saying “rotation” and I just laugh. Anyhow, with engi you can do pretty much anything; I solo’d scale 50 fractal a few days ago just to see if I could do it. They’re good for pretty much anything, so long as you understand how the class works.

I went ahead and completed the Blazeridge Steppes map to see if the gifts would be awarded again, they were not thankfully.
I was mapping on my engineer and upon completing Diessa Plateau I was awarded world map completion. The problem is that I was only at 97% world map completion, having only one way point unlocked in Blazeridge Steppes. Maybe this has something to do with people not receiving HoT map rewards?
Hah, you should look at the cost of the new jeweled damask patches, which you need three of per insignia. I feel bad for the people that actually craft the sets instead of using the mystic forge.
If that is what they were aiming for, they should have just sold a specific item for karma that you can throw in the mystic forge with a normal bag/box. It would retain value, and not force people to level a craft in which they already have on another character (Maybe that is what their goal was with this).
So I made one of these boxes on my alt in hopes to use it on my main. The catch is that it’s soul-bound on acquire, which makes no sense. There are several items like this that could very easily be account-bound, alchemy potions anyone? Certain foods, legendary weapons, ascended equipment…. all account-bound. Please explain to me how this makes sense.

“Crystallized Cache Seeker” achievement is not updating when you open the crystallized supply caches.
That sounds extremely boring, but go ahead and drive those venom prices down even more. Personally I capped by doing nothing but adventures, events, and map completion.
It is NOT humanly possible to get 50+ mastery since HoT got released doing normal content with all boosters and consumables stacked up.
Anyone who says otherwise is lying.
That’s funny, I have 83 mastery, 80 of which are Heart of Maguuma.
The “Lightbringer’s Pack” collection does not update when receiving this item from the vendor.
I’ll play the hypocrite and apologize for you for apologizing for others.
