Tenebrous Crystals
Shimmering Crystals
Alpine Lumber Core
Vision Crystal
Lesser Vision Crystal
Ball of Dough
Ball of Cookie Dough
Bowl of Baker’s Dry Ingredients
Bowl of Baker’s Wet Ingredients
Pile of Salt and Pepper
I could list very many chef ingredients, but the ones that I did list are probably the most used (I may have missed one or two).
Probably my most favorite thing to do in game right now is glide around in Bloodstone Fen as a ghost (from candy corn gobbler). I can do the events and still get credit while still being goofy.
So glad that I destroyed my baubles recently…
can we please get back 5x discounted keys back for fractals? i’m starting to run out of keys, cba to buy them everyday by clicking 30x times. or better yet implement custom buy amount.
I’m sure it will be in the next expansion. :p
I’m very happy to hear that Alpine will be returning.
Silly bobble-head bullkitten.
Will you pre-order the next expansion? [Poll]

That should help guess what my answer is.
Obviously I go into this knowing that some players will be very upset. That’s why it’s such a tough decision.
Ankdarkwolf, Darkmikau, Ballads, Spira, Caerbannog, Cysgod, you each posted a variant of an accusation I’ve seen many times over the past few months on the forums, something along the lines of, “AN shipped half an expansion with HoT.” I take issue with that. We shipped a new region full of content, a new mastery system, gliding, guild halls, a new profession, nine new elite specializations for existing professions, and more. Then we shipped precursor journeys for existing legendaries, and said, “We’ve been working hard on new legendary weapons, the first handful of which will be introduced in Heart of Thorns, with more to come in subsequent updates.” While I fully get that you’re disappointed today, this is not about us shipping half an expansion pack.
Mo
This is the most disrespectful response to a customer base I’ve seen in awhile. You DID ship half of an expansion although I’ll go as high as 60%. Half of what came out was just reworks on core systems (many of what came out for non-HoT purchasers too) and the new region was 3 and a half maps. GW2 managed those same things in feature packs before you announced expansions. Those were free! When you get $50-$100 per person, I expect that the least you can do is finish what you promised on the “box” and you hire more people if needed. Sad…
I’ve noticed MO is kinda disrespectful. but try not to get on his bad side, he actually gave me an infraction and removed the comment I made that earned my place in his response because he didn’t agree with it.
Fair enough. I’m done. Thanks for the warning.
Yeah… hes definitely the ONLY person who is being disrespectful in ANYWAY what so ever! (sarcasm).
You people have done nothing but complain and point fingers and be disrespectful to ANET in this forum post (and other forums posts) but mike says something that is blunt (but not disrespectful) and suddenly hes the one in the wrong? PLEASE! the amount of QQ in just this forum post alone is ridiculous and uncalled for! you all act as though anet is taking away your newborn child and not some useless weapons that have ZERO purpose! THINK ABOUT IT! legendary weapons give you NOTHING other than “oooh i can change the stats on my staff but thats it” when you could craft a few ascended staves (and put sigils on them) for far cheaper. all this outrage is completely pointlessThere are a lot of things in the world that are useless. This point is irrelevant. What is relevant that if I bought it, if I paid real money for it, I expect to get it. And yes, they were an advertised part of what I bought here. How pointless it might be to someone else is neither here nor there. I spent money on something and as a consumer I expected to get it, not be told they’re no longer working on it but “eventually” they’ll do it. Especially not with a company that already has a reputation of “eventually” meaning years or never.
Well, just like the whole “xpac being $50” stuff that went on, this will blow over and no one will care after about a month. People don’t ACTUALLY CARE they just want to complain, that’s all this is, is just people complaining. Not because they care, but because they can.
Maybe you do not care, but I do. New maps and new legendary weapons were the only reasons that I purchased HoT.
I find it interesting that this thread has received more replies and half of the number of views in two days than that of https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Personal-Story-Restoration-update
A thread that has been up for 12 months and is relating to personal story.
an inherently terrible and unsustainable idea.
Like having so many people work on the next “expansion” when they have not even completed the previous one. kitten poor planning produces kitten poor results.
That’s a different discussion entirely. People here feel the need to say how much superior their needs are compared to people that like instanced play, wvw or spvp.
It is not a different discussion, it is one of the major contributors to the problem. If they had more people fixing/working on the current expansion and not the next one this thread probably would not even exist in the first place.

Honestly, until they stop misleading their customers, I will not spend another penny on this game. I will encourage my friends to do the same.

The raids were fun to me for all of about a week, now it is just content that I do not bother with. It’s not “bad”, but boring.
Unlike dungeons, it’s content you don’t really repeat on a daily basis, and the rewards by comparison for time and effort spent compared to what dungeons were pre-nerf are pretty bad.
But then, in-game rewards in this game are bad by default in order to drive their gem to gold real money conversions.
Every boss could drop 100 gold and I would still find it boring. Fun is it’s own reward, why do you think people like to do WvW or PvP?
Wasnt this similiar to the bullcrap that ended up killing swtor and swg?
Not sure about SWTOR, but SWG was massively hurt by a premature launch, so in that sense, it’s kind of similar.
First few months of that game were the best.
HoT was never planned to be shipped as one big lot. It is to be supposed to come in several batches. To evaluate whether HoT is a 100% product or not you have to wait until the evening before expansion 2.
Except that the (non-existant) big wvw overhaul has been cancelled for good.
Did they cancel it? I remeber about a month ago where they talked about it in one of their little we shows.
They talk about a lot of things, see fractal leader-boards and legendary back.
They didnt mislead you. They did bring out new legendaries. Was it the full set? No, not considering the amount of work for the collections.
Ya, that is not misleading at all. I have a bridge to sell you….
At the rate that they are changing the direction of development of the game, I’ll honestly be surprised if there will be another expansion. If they do actually release another one I can see half of the “content” being axed within a year.

More empty “promises”.

It makes you wonder how many people they actually have working on the game.
I like doing the higher tier fractals with a mixed set of viper/sinister on my engineer, it’s pretty fun. Not really all that interested in raids, so I can’t comment on that. For general PvE it’s pretty nice though.
If the game had a “hardcore” mode (You die you start over from scratch) it would be “challenging”. There would also be a very small percentage of people using it.
It’s a flowchart, not a “chartflow”.
Not exactly them saying that they will work on it after WvW…
If they would implement something like your suggestion, I am willing to bet that it would be an entirely different item from the current gem store kits. Because /greed.
Not really, that is the wiki. The breather is treated as the underwater headgear for a toon. I think its something they have overlooked.
I’m not sure what you are trying to say. It clearly states that it does not work with breathers. If you want a more “official” answer you should contact support.

At the very bottom, under “Notes” is your answer.
Thank you for the update, I’ll continue with my festive binge.
“Never Sober” would be a fitting title.
Just by farming the Bell Choir Ensemble for one day I’ve had over 800 drinks. This lasts til mid Jan iirc, so I’m not mad at all.
I am curious. How many hours did you spend getting those 800 drinks?
Maybe about 5 hours tops. I’m mainly farming karma, but the presents are a nice bonus.
Thanks! I get fairly tired after about 20 minutes if it I wish that Toypocalypse was more rewarding for the amount of time that it takes to complete.
I personally believe that Anet just wants people to buy gems to convert to gold, to buy their way through this 10,000 drink achievement.

There are people already with the shoulders, of course it is doable. What it is not, is fun. Also, even if you somehow get into an instance for the JP, I highly doubt that anyone is doing 100 successful runs in two hours.
All three in a single run would be my guess.
Is it ruining your play experience having a single line of text on your screen that can be easily ignored? It will probably stay up there for a while. What does it matter?
It matters that there’s an ad for the raid, an ad for the ESL and other pvp stuff – and at one point it was also showing my pvp rank up there. I have no interest in these things, yet I have no option to hide them.
Do you use any ad blockers when you browse the net? Or doesn’t it matter?
I don’t, and it doesn’t. Sounds like a whole lot of salty QQ. But maybe it’s only me who doesn’t actually notice them while I’m playing.
The only thing salty in this thread is your attitude. It’s obviously pointless screen clutter for some people, so that is why it is being brought up.
Yet another gerent kill with randoms, even had some Anet people on our map.

I guess I am okay with it so long as they don’t try to sell the snowman mini, that will make me pretty angry.
You mean the one that originally came from a 100 gem RNG box?
Yep, that one.
I guess I am okay with it so long as they don’t try to sell the snowman mini, that will make me pretty angry.
They’re selling items from the first wintersday event…. toys that you could make in-game…

Actually, Dark is correct. When I made Nevermore I tried to see if I could make another precursor and it stopped me. It is in fact once per account. I just went back and took a screenshot for you.
Ya, I just tried to craft prototype with the required items; no go I did not see any warning the first time I crafted it though. It’s weird that the vendor sells the collection items, very misleading.
The vendor sells those items in case you mess up and open the collection chest/use recipies on the wrong character.
For instance, I’m crafting incinerator on my thief, who is not a weaponsmith. Without thinking, I used the incinerator 1 recipe on my thief because it was lit up at 450 huntsman (technically only the gift can be crafted by huntsman.)
Realizing my mustake, I switched to my warrior (which is a weaponsmith) bought the box for 10k karma, and learned the recipies on the appropriate character.
Without the vendor reselling that box… I would have had to skill weaponsmith to 450 on my thief… from zero… even though I already have a 500 weaponsmith on my account.
Ya, but it should be listed under the “I have misplaced a vital component for crafting my Legendary.”. That would be less misleading to me at least. That is not the case with the collection items for HOPE.
(edited by RustyMech.9876)
I’m very disappointed. Why does the vendor sell the items needed for this precursor, after you complete it the first time? Also why are you not stopped from crafting the initial “soul” weapon, instead of being stopped at the precursor stage?

When you craft it, does it not say, “WARNING: This item can only be created once per account.” or something to that effect? Because I’m pretty sure Carcharias said that when I crafted it.
It doesn’t, most likely because the new legendaries pres are account-bound on acquire; they’re ascended. That’s why the “old” legendary precursors collections are a one time thing most likely, because you can sell them on the TP.

Can you? Everything that is needed? I don’t know because I’ve not rushed through Masteries.
Well, here is another reason: The Devs explicitly said you could not create two of the same new Legendary on the Guild Chat regarding Legendaries. (See the video on Twitch or YouTube for more information.)
Good luck.
Yes, the only parts that are not crafted/forged/salvaged can be bought from the vendor.

^Because you can only do the collection for the particular precursor once, they are not tradable, and they don’t drop?
Execept you can buy the sub-components for the precursor from the vendor and craft it.

I don’t know, I am happy with my new shiny pistol. So happy that I am making a second one. The auras were part of the reason why I did not bother with the “old” legendaries, also did not help that anyone could just break out their cash and buy one.
Just as a warning, you can’t actually make a second H.O.P.E. with the new system. You’ll have to use the Wardrobe to apply the skin on another weapon.
Why can’t you? People keep saying this, but no one says exactly what stops someone from making a second one.
Seems reasonable enough with a solidly organized group, but man, screw pretentious, know-it-all meta guilds who only care about their godkitten pixel rewards.
I was just in a map for 45 minutes while it was getting organized, suddenly the map closes and we all get scattered. Which is unfortunate, but there’s still time to regroup and get situated. But nah, they just decide to give up, because they’ve killed it a whole 11 times, so obviously they know when it’s too late. And not only that; when the non-quitters wanted to keep organizing and try anyway, they refused to leave the instance, and opted to just laze about and collect their pity prize, instead of politely making room for people who actually felt like trying.
I mean seriously, it’s not like we would have gotten less rewards if we tried to do it and failed. But I guess their precious finger energy is more important than an entire map full of people who would rather struggle than just give up.
Haha. Probably the same people that ask others to leave, too funny.
The same day that the wintersday event is put in would be my guess.
don’t worry, in a few weeks the price will drop…. alot.
