There’s no reason not to add one at that price.
HoT is essentially a standalone now with their FAQ change, which means it should (like Factions and Nightfall) at the very least include a character slot or two.

Lets compare price to one other successfull MMO.If i wanted to play WoW i’d have to pay 20$ for the core game + 50$ for expansion which is 70$ in total.For HoT i have to pay only kitten and that is 25$ less than WoW(without even counting the subscription)

I don’t mind new players getting a free copy of the game. However, the content that ANet has shown to us simply does not justify $50. When we bought GW2, the promise was that we were buying a complete game to play, and what they have shown us simply does not look like a complete game, or at least that much worth of content. We’ve shown, as a community, that we’re willing to spend money on continuous updates and new skins and conveniences, and have done our job supporting our devs.

I’ll be happy to pay $50 for the XPac, as long as ANet proves I’m getting $50 in value. Tell me how much story I’m getting. Tell me how much new world I’ll get to explore. Tell me SOMETHING more than “You get way less than GW2, for the same price.”

We got to kill 1/6 elder dragons and are given 2/3 of the 2nd, then oh would you look at that we need to pay to finish the game.

No, HoT is the expansion continued off of the ending of S2. S3 will come after HoT

Based on your logic we should get the story for free, a good example of a real world problem is a book ending its series. Do you want the book for free? Sure everyone would like that but you would be just as happy to pay for the book to learn the ending of the series.

There are some major issues with these traps. First off, trapper runes don’t even work well. The stealth you get is just taken off almost instantly by the trap itself and super speed is currently bugged to only act like swiftness. Secondly, who would ever want a heap trap? The only way a heal trap could be viable is if allies triggered it.

Also, Traps don’t fit a heavy armor support character in any way. The idea of traps is to be stealthy and deceptive in order to fool your opponent; guardian is not stealthy or deceptive.

The question really comes down to: Does it change your gameplay? Arenanet have stated that grandmaster (EAtt is now grandmaster) should be something to that really impacts and changes the way you play. I personally think that EAtt isn’t as useful as it could be, but I definitely feel weird whenever I don’t have it. The attunement boons really help you feel like you are in that attunement. I just swapped to air and now I am as swift as the wind! I do feel like this is core to elementalists and should be baseline.

Where is my shield buff?

If trap runes are going to be a thing, they need a big buff. Right now super speed doesn’t even work properly and the stealth you get from the trap will be stripped off almost instantly when it is set off.

I do not see the point in dragon hunters getting traps. Traps should stay on ranger and theif, it makes no sense on guardian. What I think should happen is traps become symbols instead. This way the guardian won’t have clunky traps that don’t see use in any areas of the game but instead will have symbols.

Dragon hunters is supposed to have more condition damage so I would assume there would be some type of trap that inflicts burning. How this would work is for example this trap would be known as Symbol of Searing. This symbol would pulse burns on enemies within the radius.

More synergy comes with symbols. Right now not many people trait for symbols in any game types, with the traps becoming symbols we could see great synergy with pre-existing symbol traits such as bigger and longer symbols.

Yes we don’t know what the dragon hunter will bring in terms of traits but what we do know is that it will bring more bleeds into the guardian to get more condition damage. To accommodate for this we could have a new trait that makes symbols inflict bleed with every critical hit.

With these changes I could see the symbol guardian make an appearance and become a viable build to run.

Yes I know this is yet another thread about the bad name for the guardian specialization… We all know the name is horrible but the only way a-net will change it is if we keep pressing it. +1 and create your own threads to get the pint through.

Yea I had this happen too. For me I walked down the slope a little bit and suddenly started hitting but I think the stealth and miss are a unique dynamic to the mob. Also the wolves that ganked you were ones that spawn during the event and run up the slope.

Just go full rabid or some condi spec and use pistol/shield, heal turret, tool kit, bomb kit, and rocket boots. That will give you 2 blocks and an aoe blind so survive the mordrem better. Also you cans tack stealth to get around those pesky plants

Hey everyone, I saw this thread and could really use some help. I’m about to get the bifrost and want to use it on my sylvari ele but have trouble finding armor that looks good with it. If anyone could help I would really like it!

PS: I only want sylvari armor i.e. cultural or nightmare court. And really want celestial to be the main color.

PSS: It mostly comes down to the dyes for me, I have some nice armor right now but it doesn’t dye correctly for bifrost
