Just an update here. i ran through with my sylvari ele (with the speed buffs) and completed it within 12 tries.

I then decided to see if the asura was infact more difficult. Ran a lvl 7 asura meser (not speed buffs at all) through and got it on the 3rd go.

What this says to me is “All you dudes having extreme trouble, run with a charr/norn lvl 1 alt, get the feel for the jumps, then redo on smaller characters”

The camera did seem more flaky on the smaller characters, but knowing where to jump, i didnt have a problem.

DO NOT WATCH UR CHARACTER. The distance on the screen should give u a fine indication of when to jump. Once i got past the first fally part, i never looked at my character for the rest of the puzzle

Edit: Australian with 250 ping, and there were 70% norn/charr on all runs

Most fun ive had. I completed it after 2ish hrs, on my charr warrior. And im going back to do it more tonight with a sylvari and asura (more challenging apparently)

The best thing was it actually felt like an achievement because it was so hard. If you are having trouble on your asura, make a lvl 1 charr or norn, problem solved.

Also the music is amazing and is 1/2 the reason i love it. Props to all involved

Its supposed to be hardcore, that’s the point. There are so many jumping puzzles in the game, THIS one is a super achievement.

Im going to try this with my sylvari ele and an asura and compare the difficulty. If all else fails guys..make a lvl 1 char or norn and problem solved.

Just completed as charr warrior after about 50 tries over 1 1/2 2 hrs. This has been the most fun ive had in ages.

Warriors have a trait called Warrior’s spirit, which is a ‘run faster while weilding a melee weap’ In the discipline tree.

This is an achievement for a reason. All those people saying ‘i cant do it but give me the achievement’ do not deserve it. This is about patience and practice. Im also in australia with a higher ping then you Americans, so don’t go complaining about speed either. That 250 extra ping makes it hard.

If they change it they should add a ‘easy mode’ and keep the current as a hard mode achievement.

Whats funny is that normal jumping puzzles are harder for norn/charr because of the camera. The smaller characters have a way easier time seeing around stuff then i do normally.

This is the problem right here. Instead of being a responsible adult and waiting to buy keys to see what the drop would be like, they rushed in going GIMME GIMME GIMME GIMME.

Neither was the word ‘common’ – The fact that Anet didnt release the % drop of the items and people still expected it to be around 50% drop just shows Anet how dumb there customers really are.

The fact these jokes are so bad, is what makes it great IMO.

I have to admit though..after this event my charr will be repeating the Snaff joke to all the annoying asura she finds

As a side note. The people that have bought $50 + worth of keys or half a paycheck worth, are just silly. I work at a venue that has a gaming room (gambling machines) and ive seen people spend upwards of $200 a day, come in every day (i once saw a guy spend $1600 in 5 hours). 90% of these people get nothing, yet i don’t see the world complaining to the government about it. Why? Because people EXPECT it.

Just because you wern’t smart enough to expect it doesnt make it Anet’s fault. If they didnt release the % drop rate. You need to be responsible adults and ask yourselves if you lost all the money you put in, without a return would you be ok with that?

Would be nice to know if you can do these events on different characters to. I really want the book skin on my ele, but i did the quest on my warrior

I find it funny that people are complaining about how boring the event is when its just an introduction to the first halloween in gw2

I find it funny that people think the halloween starting event with the books/ghosts is bad/stupid/hard to figure out when 90% of the people i helped today did NOT read the mail from the asura that gives u the quest.

I find it funny that people are so upset with the new pact weapon rewards because of ‘bad’ skins when its so subjective. I hate the CoF greatsword that EVERYONE seems to love but im not kittening about it. If you dont like the skin dont use it.

I go to said event area and see an asura with a large pumpkin on her head
I talk to said asura, i READ what she says, then i get a mail and i READ the mail.

It VERY CLEARLY explains ’this device, which is powered by candy corn uses different frequencies to detect ghosts

Oh i say, the ghosts must be part of the event. So i scan for the first ghost, as said, and since the ghost says nothing of to much consequence i look in my bag to find a book.

Seriously its not hard. I sat in LA for over an hr telling me to msg me if they had questions about the event and how it worked. 90%..90%!!! Did not read the mail that they got with the meter detection device in it. SERIOUSLY. As soon as i said..read the mail they got it instantly.

It doesnt. 1 craft to 400 = 10 levels. 8 crafts to 400 = 80 lvls. Thats how he did it

They have said they are looking at redoing the loot in dungoens. I assume they will also consider champions and stuff in this also

Hey Anet, im not sure if this is a bug or intended, but its depressing the hell out of me.

The whispers medium armor, on the male, shows the hood and the mask, while on the female version it only shows a hood.

I was so excited to get this armor, now im very disappointed because the female version has no mask.

Oh god really. Ronin. Have you ever played any game on release? Anet are doing a way better job then most companies have done. Of course the bots and spammers are swarming this game, because its immensely popular. Blizzard hasnt fixed Gold spamming in 6 years in WoW and yet people expect Anet to fix it within 3 months of release.

A level 80 in full exotics also has a huge advantage against a level 2 scaled to 80.

If you’re looking for balance, WvW isn’t. Try sPvP.

And when two 80s in the same gear fight, the one with more disposable income should not have higher stats as a function of his money.

It’s not like sPVP is balanced any better but this is just sad. Everyone who thought the game was going to be pay to win is right. These are not cosmetic, they don’t help save time for players without as much free time to farm/level up, they’re just there so people can pay money to get an unfair advantage.

So Im 6’ 200 lbs my opponent is 5’ 2" 135 LBS Im supposed to get on my knees to make it a fair fight?

Oh my god do you think this is a legitimate counter example? That’s so adorable. I’ll tell you what champ, if you can find me even ONE fair and competitive fighting organization that would pair two fighters of that size against each other, I will validate your argument with a response.

Would a organization pair anyone together that did not have the EXACT same weight? Most obviously they would. They may not allow extreme variations in weight but your never going to get two people the exact same weight.

You are saying that if 20 people have a buff in WvW that all happen to be in the same area at the same time, with the buff active all at the same time, that that would be severely unfair to the other team at a disadvantage. So what are we talking about here?

Please clarify what you think is considered unfair

20/100 people have the buff
20/200 people have the buff
20/300 people have the buff
20/400 people have the buff
20/500 people have the buff.

Which is ok and which is not. Keep in mind they all must have the same buff at the same time in the exact same place on the map, and they are versing an army of the same/greater size.

I dont know about you, but i think a 10% dmg buff on a couple of people wouldnt really make that much of a difference. Why are you sitting here making a huge deal out of something so tiny? Dont you have anything better to do..

You know, if you were in WvW instead of here everytime you made a post, you could single handly counter all those buffs at the same time, by addng a whole another player to the team! Surely thats worth more then a few people with a 10% buff right?

I dont know about everyone else but this has been the most fun matchup ive played.

I have seen both EB and Mag take large portions of land from TC, then TC takes some back, then another zerg takes 2 of our keeps in 20mins (couple days ago). But no matter when i look at the rankings, its the most balanced scores ive ever seen in WvW. Noone is holding orbs for ages, they keep swapping hands.

I’m an Ehmry Bay player.

Attached is an image of Tarnished Cost players. They are doing this not only to us but to Maguuma as well. It’s early in the morning and for a group of people who made so much noise about our server “night capping” before, this doesn’t seem like very sporting behavior. Not only have they been night capping like Ehmry Bay was blamed of doing, but they go do crap like this. Even against Borlis Pass and Fergusson’s Crossing last week where we won with something like 90% of all the points, Ehmry Bay didn’t pull these bull—— stunts.

Firstly i am from TC and i think this is the best match up/fight we’ve had. Every server has been doing well at some point and the point spread is fairly balanced. Orbs have been swapping hands left right and center with no one team +200k above the other teams in points.

Please dont judge all players from any server on the actions of a few people/guilds. You cannot state that EB players NEVER do any of the same stuff because every server has people guilty of it. Just because your not around to see it, or because we dont whine about it doesnt mean its not happening.

Unless one server has capped all 4 maps, your spawn will not be camped at all 3 entrances because people have better things to do. As it stands, every single time ive looked at the scoreboard (normally once in the morning once at night) TC have been back and forth losing and gaining maps. We have rarely held all of one map and when we did it was only got a few hours. Please spend time organizing your people and leading them to break campers, or go around them instead. You get camped because you let them camp you.

Dragonbrand had all 4 maps in our match last week, they camped da crap out of everything, but instead of complaining i just fought and had some fun, or did something else.

At least with main chat i can turn it off, and dont have to look at it.

This would just completly ruin the surprise/fun/immersion of it just happening when your around

I don’t really understand this. Say in gw1 you reach LA and your already lvl capped at 20. Your STILL going to go do the rest of the story. All they’ve done is make it so the little number above your head keeps changing for a longer period of time.

Lvl 80 Game
- Go to new area,
- Do POI/hearts/vistas
- Lvl up
- buy better gear
- Do storyline

Lvl 20 game
- Go to new area,
- Do POI/hearts/vistas
- Lvl up
- buy better gear
- Do storyline

The only difference is at in a lvl 20 max game, there is now Less incentive to check out other areas, because you dont need them to level.

It feels like your saying that having lvl 80 as a max cap stops you from having fun exploring. Ignore the number, and do what you want

Its a small request, but i would really love this feature

Im pretty sure, that this is classified as broken/bugged. Random draws arn’t called a que.

Game has been out for less then 3 months. Relax, they will fix it in time. Everyones expecting gw2 to play like WoW does today, when WoWs been running for years and years. Sit back and let Anet do there thing

So what your saying is, they should turn off the only system preventing ridiculous lag, not to mention controlling many servers completely flooding WvW

If you were in WvW but had to much lag to play, would that be ok with you?
If you were in a low pop server, that got completly overrun because the pop cap let a high pop server overrun you with no effort, would that be ok?

Yet the one thing in your control, which server your on, you wont even consider.
