This is because it’s hard for Guardians to consistently apply longer lasting burns. However, my general rule of thumb is: if the condition stacks in duration (burn, poison), get condition damage.
Personally, I think the Power/Precision/C.Damage set is for professions that add Conditions on critical strikes. Plus, Guardian really only has a burn…which doesn’t stack.
Does Retaliation reflects dmg back when you block or Aegis blocks ?

Maybe it got fixed in a recent update? I actually have checked recently.

This trait is active even though you don’t have the required points in the Valor Trait line, meaning free mights when blocking.I’ve never ever got any might from block.
Every time i block an attack with an aegis i get might stacks. Maybe it is just with aegis?
I don’t believe you get might from blocking with Shelter or Shield of Wrath, but I think I’ve gotten might from aegis and protector’s strike.
Not sure if this is a bug or intentional, but Sigil of Force does not seem to increase the damage from Virtue of Justice.
As far as I know, sigil only works for the weapon you put it in, at the exception of “upon killing a foe”. So, if you put Sigil of Force in a Sword, then 1-3 will be boosted by x%, or if you put it in a Focus, then 4 and 5 will be boosted by x%.
I’m pretty sure when I tried this in the Mist, I have Sigil of Force on my Shield and it increased my auto-attacks (1) for my Sword. I will try again when I get home.

RakaNishoo, did you have the major trait Shielded Mind when you rallied? There are none issues of Shielded Mind preventing Virtue of Courage from refreshing.
Another issue I have with Orb of Light is that if you cast then activate it immediately, the orb doesn’t seem to appear and heal or do damage.
I was under the impression that speed increases do not stack, with the faster speed increase being 33% from swiftness.

It might make more sense if Focus and Dagger switched their Water4 and Water5. Assuming Focus is defensively oriented and Dagger was offensive.
I think if we just remove WvW from monthly achievements, it will reduce the queue size to WvW by at least 1… xD
Just curious, but for Flashing Blade, were guardians suppose to turn into a beam of light and fly towards the target? I recall seeing a video of that somewhere…
IMO, dungeons are not run for gold or experience. They should be run for tokens. However, because not everyone wants the same dungeon tokens, there isn’t much incentive to help others run dungeons if gold and experience are dropped.
I think dungeons giving universal token is not a good answer, either. This will only make people run the easier dungeons. Therefore, I think a dungeon token conversion to a universal token would be a good solution. Probably something like 5:1 since tokens drop in sets of 5.
Additionally, perhaps 5 bonus dungeon token for completing all routes of a dungeon would be nice, as well as 5 bonus universal tokens for completing all dungeon routes of all dungeons.

I’ll like to point out that the minor trait Justice is Blind will apply a blind when you activate VoJ. You can potentially get another stack of vulnerability if you leap first and then activated VoJ.
The problem is it’s possible to completely daily and monthly achievements in just WvW, but impossible to completely it in just PvE. I understand you don’t have to do achievements, but for things like daily and monthly, they are rewards you can get for just playing the game. I feel that GW2 is catered to both PvE and PvP type players and it feels bad that a monthly achievement forces you to WvW.
There seems to be some missing audio near the beginning. Mostly Trahearne’s audio.

I didn’t notice this thread. I have 1 more to add. Renewed Focus does not recharge Virtue of Courage if you are traited with Shieled Mind. I just posted here.
I seem to be getting might when my aegis ends, even though I don’t have Might of the Protector. I haven’t figured out what the source is, but I’m 30 traits into Honor and Virtues. I’ll post more when I test some more.

Currently, Renewed Focus does not recharge Virtue of Courage. I’m not sure if this matters, but I also have the trait Shielded Mind.
I suggested something similar in the elementalist weapon switch suggestion thread:
an interesting idea could be to make our summon fiery GS elite into a regular utility skill, and replace it with a “Glyph of Elemental Weapon” with unlimited duration and uses, which changes form based on what attunement you are
I think having forced synergy between skills is bad. That requires you to “waste” a utility slot.
I think it would be cool if Conjure Fiery Greatsword was attunement-based, since Elementalists are attunement-themed. For some reason, I just don’t like the idea of an elite skill that isn’t really my attunement focus. Though having such a versatile skill might be OP.
I don’t like the idea of Rangers using whips. I imagine a Ranger is on good, friendly terms with their pets. I can’t imagine them whipping pets…

Recently, Defender’s Shield and Honorable Shield were merged to match the Warrior’s Shield Master and Engineer’s Reinforced Shield. Will this be happening to all other cooldown reduction traits (for all professions)?
Current at lv80, the Grandmaster Trait Zealous Blade heals for 25 per enemy hit and does not scale with Healing Power. The concept feels “Grandmaster-worthy”, but 25 per hit really feels lacking. Is this intentional? What was the thought process behind this?

Even though you stop “channeling” the shield and the bubble visually disappears, I have noticed that it still absorbs projectiles for a bit afterwards.
The intent was for the satchels to require the same amount of materials as crafting the individual pieces. I’m not sure where this got broken for these, but I’ll take a look at it.
Does that mean the cost of individual pieces are going up to match satchels or that the cost of satchels are going down to match individual pieces?
It makes sense since the box that holds them should cost mats, too. ;p
But seriously, you probably don’t even require the craft to make them. I could be a warrior or guardian and not take up armorsmithing and buy the mats on the TP. Though, it would be cool if you could put them all back into the box…
Actually, it says “recharge rate” which is NOT the same.
Example: Virtue of Justice is base cooldown of 30s
30% cooldown reduction = 30 * .7 = 21 seconds
30% recharge rate = 30 / 1.3 = 23 seconds
The tooltip still says 30s cooldown, but it recharges in 23 seconds.
I thought those were more of fluid changes for Warrior/Guardian. It’s nice that Guardian’s traits were merged to match Warrior’s…not that I know anyone who actually uses those traits…
The huge stacking of fear is why I also bring another stun breaking, either Stand your Ground! and Shielded Mind.
I can confirm that retaliation does not deal damage if you block or the enemy misses.
I would assume since the damage becomes their damage, it will scale off of their condition damage.

Personally, I don’t see a need for guild tax, either. The guild itself does not require any money. Guild upgrades are paid with influence.
Sometimes I’m just interested in what Anet has to say in response to a topic. It would be nice if there was a forum that just listed all the responses of Anet.
Currently, Zealot’s Flame does not trigger Inner Fury. Is this intentional, or is this a bug?
I wish Sword 3 was a projectile finisher.
I prefer Mace/Focus. In bad situations, you can drop your Mace2, then Mace3 and Focus5 to heal back up while blocking 4 hits.
I would like a secondary skill to Mace 3 (Protector’s Strike). Something similar to Mesmer’s Scepter 2. I just hate it when I put up Protector’s Strike and no one attacks me, I’m basically stuck for 5s. Or I can waste a dodge. I want to be able to turn it off, preferably for some different effect. Maybe move the Protection buff there.
I do wish that VoC produces the Aegis immediately after it comes off it’s 90sec cooldown and not an additional 30-40 seconds after. Additionally, VoJ should start with burn on your next hit right after it comes off cooldown.
Personally, I think VoR is great when traited. Removing 3 conditions is amazing. Generally, I use it after collecting everyone’s Poison/Bleed/Fear with “Save Yourselves!”.
I also find it very strange that the Shield does not have a blocking mechanic to it. I really like the Ascalonian Warrior’s fiery blocks.
