SoR, you be the judge. Are you going to side with BG again during week 7 like you did during week 1 in light of all this? Or are you going to do the honourable thing by siding with JQ to crush BG and demoralize them?
Why is JQ and SoR playing dead? I mean, JQ was doing well for the first few days, then I hear SoS was bought by BG. SoR didn’t cooperate after a few days. Why is this happening?
Simple. JQ was given an easy matchup. Before I explain, its worthy to take note that JQ has a massive pve pop. Now, because of the easy matchup JQ was given all these “pve kids” jumped into WvW to join the never ending karma train and get easy achievement points. Thats all WvW was on jq for the past month. 5 hr queue’s and karma train. Now in the latest matchup we’re fighting bg. When fighting bg, there is no karma train. You actually have to defend stuff!!! Not just flip sm whenever you feel like it. So, with the karma train gone, all the pve players went back to pve. We’ve lost out blob. Yes, im on JQ. The queue for eb atm is either hotjoin or 10 mins max. Contrasts to the past few weeks where its been 3 hrs minimum.
TL;DR
JQ blob = Pve players. Pve players karma train. BG = a need to defend stuff. Defending = no loot or karma. Pve players go back to frost forge.
PS: to add salt to the injury bg has been buying/renting guilds left right and center. At one point, they bribed an sos guild so focus us. Not that im complaining, there are no rules in war.

As we’ve often experienced in this league system is that some matchups are decided way too early. If the point difference gets too big in first 2 days many servers give up fighting what spoils WvW experience for everyone involved. This is because no matter how big difference in points is the winning team will get 5 points, 2nd 3 and 3rd 1.
This can be easily solved; make points matter. I suggest awarding 1 point for every 20k points earned. Number can be determined on doing some calculations, it could be 1 point for every 20k or 25k or 50k or whatever, some estimates can be done based on stats from Season 1. That way even server which falls behind early has motivation to fight for points!
Any opinions about this? Do devs check this forum?
You mean, the ranking system we had, which was perfect. I mean that. It was perfect. It was based on the chest rating system, an evolved version of elo, and those numbers didn’t lie.

I’m on BG and I personally don’t care for the rewards since they’ll likely be just as good as the achievement chests from completing some of the achievements. What I do care about is that we still get some good fights.

Anet has to do more than stopping transfers. They have to stop transactions between players as well to make it fair. BG bought their way to first place. I’m seriously looking at the newer games for entertainment now…
They should have left WvW as it was. Ranking was based on ratings. Similar servers played eachother. Or remove any rewards associated with being first, otherwise the people who get the rewards can now brag amongst themselves, for the rest of us will just play another game.
What do you claim is buying guilds? Is it paying for their transfers, either in part or wholly? Is that buying guilds?
Is buying guilds paying gold in excess of transfer to fees? or would it be buying guilds if you paid them 2 transfer fees for their entrance and exit from a server. and gold on top of that?

I’ll do you one better, I’ll describe the situation.
SoR dominated BG through the first 3 days of its match up last week. Sunday night going into Monday morning Blackgate paid a Russian guild an extremely large sum of gold to transfer to their server just for the league. The guild has already stated that they have no intentions of staying on BG and are only be paid to help them win league. As SoR has no players in their particular time slot (9aPST/12pEST) the guild continues to flip all borderlands uncontested.
Now SoR players are quitting the game left and right. The league was viewed as the savior of WvW for a large section of the base but now that one server has gone to the extreme to literally ‘pay-to-win’ a lot of the player base has lost faith in leagues and ArenaNet.
I’m not from SoR or BG. I honestly thought SoR would have killed BG based on past bouts between the two when JQ was not there and based on ratings. Politics between the 3 servers skew the actual rating of the server, which is why JQ found itself in t2 3 months ago due to all the tag team occurring. I’m not making excuses. JQ plays it too. But I think buying guilds is on a whole new level. If Merc was truely bought, I would like to personally say sorry about that to BG. I hate traitors. But if they moved for the glory, well, it’s a little different. There’s something about money that makes it so wrong. That’s why I totally DESPISE it when people on JQ team chat incite guilds to move to BG. Any respect I had for BG is now gone. From now on, I hope SoR has learned its lesson by never taking sides with BG because BG plays dirty. As far as I’m concerned, BUYGATE CAN FLUFF MY GARFIELD! I’m out. SoR, you know what to do on during week 7. High Five.
Remove the repairs achievement. Noobs just take supply from garrison to repair walls being trebbed. Any experienced player wouldn’t dream of repairing that wall until the cause of it is dealt with. But tell that to a pve’er who cares nothing about wvw server ranking and status. More Escort achievements plz.
I personally hate it. Queues that were an hour long are now 4 hours long. And now that all the pve’ers have their achievements done, we have lost one of the most important match there was.

SoR gave up on Blackgate, and I honestly thought SoR would defeat them. But once a server is too behind to catch up, it’s easier to give up than to try to motivate hundreds of strangers. I was really hoping SoR would defeat Blackgate….
Rangers just plain sucks… but they do have cripples and water fields.
Mesmers are as useful as staff eles. They don’t get much bags, but they help the zerg enormously. Every zerg should have 3 of each at least.
Thieves contribute nothing for the zerg. The only way to play a thief unselfishly is to follow an enemy zerg and communicate where it is, and rez the down, oh and finish the weak. But since the level of stealth thieves can have is being nerfed, they aren’t going to be as useful to an organized zerg.
Nothing much needs to be said about properly traited guardians.
Warriors have always had it good. Pretty much any noob with a warrior is deadly. Since there is an abundance of warriors because of it’s the best class for PvE, I’d say this one goes up the uselessness chart.
Engineers is sort of my second pick. They are a mystery to me. Like the ranger, they can be quite deadly in pvp.
So my vote is thief. And I have one.
Order of uselessness (least important for a properly functioning zerg) from most to least (my opinion):
1)Thief (after Dec 10 patch)
2)Engineer
3)Ranger
4)Mesmer
5)Warrior
6)Necro
7)Elementalist
8)Guardian
The numbers are from this year. BG has done nothing but to continue to buy guilds.
A week ago someone from BG was trying to incite guilds to move there. After confronting them, they said that the guilds didn’t need to move to BG… meaning BG is buying spies. We now have to face potential spies in addition to the treacherous guilds that go there.
I would like to know this too. If I put Divinity Runes on my armor, and for whatever reason I want them off, is it possible to salvage the runes off the gear. If not, then please can you smart and talented developers of ArenaNet Fix this?
Seems like the people who touched the dust in any way are unhappy. I stayed away when they were hitting 5s (from 1s) each and regretted it ever since. But I’m glad that this solution was found. It counter balances the two. But I fear that something else will be nerfed to make it harder to get ectos now.
The price of T6 dust was going up since November and the famous “Jan 28th” (at least to me) accelerated the inflation.
