Hi Arlong,
Afterlife are recruiting for active players in the WvW realm and tour tPvP teams also.

We are fully focused on PvP and are on Vabbi Server.
The two arms of the guild include

tPvP
Our tourny team are a dedicated group of players who almost solely play structured 5v5 matches. They have an excellent win/loss ratio and take part in a regular training schedule.

WvW
Our WvW arm is expanding rapidly at this stage. We formed with a very small core group of players co ordinating with other players to move as fast acting strike/scouting and attack force. We are expanding this force in size not to reach a zerg but to continue to keep the attributes we already value while allowing us greater flexibility to scout, co ordiante and support larger objective takes.

We are considered semi hardcore to hardcore and raid almost every night of the week With a teamspeak available and dedicated community website you will find our full recruitment post below

Relating to what Gank saysyou’ll find that lag and lack of definitive guesting within the pve/sPvP elements of the game pretty much rule out a rush of EU guilds over to the US servers and creating a more competitive offpeak US server structure.

This isnt going to be an issue thats goign to be fixed any time soon and as a result my guys and a number of top tier EU guilds wouldn’t want to be looking to devalue the game to that extent by fundamentally moving themselves into a situation where you have little if no community to interact with or compete against.

I would second this. I tend to take my guild on high risk maneuvers. Examples of this being almost suicidal distractions, taking small teams to hit and run on camps, etc. This kind of thing would tend to happen more often and provide more interesting takes on tactis in WvW, I’d suggest, if the penalties of doing it were reduced… As you dont tend to need to do these things as often unless you are totally outgunned, I second this idea.

As it stands Afterlife are recruiting for players focused on the PvP side of Guild Wars 2. We are a well establish PvP community with an established history in games ranging from Aion, Swtor, WoW and of course now entering into GW2.

You will find that Afterlife are focused on the PvP element of the game as such I’ll be honest that we do have PvE players but you wont find us running dungeons weekly. What you will find is a guild that is extremely active day in day out.
We run daily raids in WvW and you will find our sPvP players training and participating in tournaments continuously.
As a result you will find that we are an effective, tight knit community with a number of our members attending social events both in the game and in real life (eurogamer is next).

Afterlife as a guild don’t have an age limit, we do however expect that anyone joining us to be mature enough to handle themselves.

My advice relates to the use of karma as per the users opening post and not to create items to sell on the TP

I would strongly advise you refrain from engaging in directly swapping karma for gold in this manner if you do find a way to do this. these income streams are generally considered to be seperate and I would treat them as such.

The grind sounds crazier than it was back in Vanilla Aion and Tera ._.

Rather than get into specifics as it could go on and on and on… Having played these games I can assure really the grind is minimal. this is of course subjective to my experiences but having played these games I can reasonably compare I’d hope.

Assuming you are on windows please go to the windows icon in the bottom left and type in “dxdiag” into the searchbox and hit enter it should give you the specs we need to start with.

Hi all, from a purely personal point of view this is a fairly common tactic in most open pvp / server vs server pvp environments I’ve been engaged in over the years and although many see it us unfair/unsuitable or just down right silly, it has developed into a common and reasonable tactic.

Using dead players to extend ones view of the battlefield may not go with the ethos of honorable combat but frankly it is part of the game, it is something that wvw guilds have been using for a long time i other games and its not something you will tend to find many complain about as it can be worked around with good comms and tactics.

Our Goals

We are looking for
Afterlife is composed of multiple branches with different expectations and benefits. When you apply to the guild you’ll have to decide which one you’d like to see yourself in. If for some reason you’re in the wrong branch, you’ll be able to switch but with certain restrictions. No matter which branch you join you are expected to represent Afterlife at all times while online.

Full Members – If you decide to join Afterlife on a full basis you’ll be placed under a 2 week trial in the branch of your choice. You trial evaluation will be based on your activity and how well you’ll handle yourself within the particular branch.

WvW Branch – WvW remains the main focus of Afterlife. To become one of our WvW members you need to know how to handle yourself in a big raid (60+ people) in terms of taking orders and fulfilling them in a quick manner. Afterlife has made a name for itself by never fleeing the fight – if you get an order to rush in 5 against 100 and you don’t hold back no matter what you lose by dying. This is how you become one of us. The fear of a zerg when our combined yet outnumbered raid breaks their ranks like they were air is something you’ll keep in your memory for a long time.

Structured PvP Branch – Recruitment for this is now closed. We intend to re open this as the ramp up to sponsored and hosted tournaments continues. Please check back in the future for new on this.

PvE Branch – If you are not a hardcore PvP player yet enjoy running with a cool bunch of people then you can apply for the PvE branch composed of experienced raiders and raid leaders. Afterlife remains mainly a PvP Community so you will be expected to run with our WvW raids.

Casual members – If for various reasons (family, job shifts etc.) you will not be able to fully commit yourself to a new game right from the start but you’d see yourself as Afterlife material you can go ahead and apply as a Casual member. While some activity might still be expected of you, your trial will be put on hold if you’re personal situation requires it. As a Casual member of Afterlife you can run under our name and will represent us in game but you’ll not receive benefits like access to the guild’s bank until you decide to join us on a full base.

We have now moved to Desolation server and look forward to the challenges to come on our new home.
