We have reopened our SPvP Branch

Afterlife has re opened our SPvP branch recruitment. As a WVW focused guild thus far Afterlife has focused on dominating the battlefield and made a name for itself as a never say die, no fear guild. In this same vein if you are interested in the growing SPvP scene, always heading into the fray and never saying die then Afterlife might be the place for you.

With access to custom arenas for training, our own teamspeak 3 server and regular training with a team who have always focused on the fight in game.

We are aiming to recruit around 8 players to help fill out our SPvP branch and build two core tournament teams. We will be looking to place these teams within the growing tournament scene and see them fighting alongside other tpvp teams in well known tournaments such as mist league.

We are looking for
Afterlife is composed of multiple branches with different expectations and benefits. When you apply to the guild you’ll have to decide which one you’d like to see yourself in. If for some reason you’re in the wrong branch, you’ll be able to switch but with certain restrictions. No matter which branch you join you are expected to represent Afterlife at all times while online.

Full Members – If you decide to join Afterlife on a full basis you’ll be placed under a 2 week trial in the branch of your choice. You trial evaluation will be based on your activity and how well you’ll handle yourself within the particular branch.

WvW Branch – WvW remains the main focus of Afterlife. To become one of our WvW members you need to know how to handle yourself in a big raid (60+ people) in terms of taking orders and fulfilling them in a quick manner. Afterlife has made a name for itself by never fleeing the fight – if you get an order to rush in 5 against 100 and you don’t hold back no matter what you lose by dying. This is how you become one of us. The fear of a zerg when our combined yet outnumbered raid breaks their ranks like they were air is something you’ll keep in your memory for a long time.

Structured PvP Branch – We have re opened our SPvP branch. We are recruiting for around 6-8 players interested in representing Afterlife in PvP.
At this time we are open for all class requirements and train regularly throughout the week.
We have access to both custom arenas for training and our own ts3 for communication.
We are looking to build two core teams within our guild structure to represent Afterlife and place in the growing tPvP scene.

PvE Branch – If you are not a hardcore PvP player yet enjoy running with a cool bunch of people then you can apply for the PvE branch composed of experienced raiders and raid leaders. Afterlife remains mainly a PvP Community so you will be expected to run with our WvW raids.

Casual members – If for various reasons (family, job shifts etc.) you will not be able to fully commit yourself to a new game right from the start but you’d see yourself as Afterlife material you can go ahead and apply as a Casual member. While some activity might still be expected of you, your trial will be put on hold if you’re personal situation requires it. As a Casual member of Afterlife you can run under our name and will represent us in game but you’ll not receive benefits like access to the guild’s bank until you decide to join us on a full base.

Server of choice
We are now on Desolation Server. With the challenge of top tier competition and easy access to any area of the WvW maps we can always find a fight whatever the time of day.

Thanks everyone that turned out on Deso BL last night I’ll tell you what for all the ho hum about the forums our Deso guys got knee deep into a fortified bay while despite the efforts of JS and Viz at the same time they never got in our Garrison Keep.

Great time thanks all who turned out and respect to the JS teams for very aggressive play.

It’s been a pain since this new patch firstly being unable to build anything other than golems and secondly lag has got worse instead of better possibly some sort of memory leak on the servers or something dropping packets.

Had fun fighting some similar sized guild groups with our guild raid tonight can’t remember names mostly skirmishes on supply camps on Deso bl.

Can I just say thank you to all the deso players that turned up last night and turned the tide on our map.

It took all night but we finally recaptured Hills against huge odds and very well organised opponents in the SFR guilds on the map.

Thanks to everyone that turned up last night in Deso Borderlands and followed our commanders. While once again under heavy pressure on our own Bl we stepped up and never gave up. thanks everyone

As a semi hardcore to hardcore guild we have a good number of well skilled players and do have attendance requirements for wvw raiding if you are online.

We use teamspeak for comms and expect users to use this.

We run on Desolation Server which allows us to enter WvW nightly as a guild with little to no queuing time and co ordinate with our allies effectively.

Running in EU prime time we tend to have a 15 man raid on average every night which we are looking to expand on.

In return for your time we will provide a pvp community, wvw raids every night with experienced raid leads and well established allies.

It is my opinion that I feel this is a reasonable compromise bearing in mind that the EU players have had to wait up until 2am (later for the russians) to play at reset at all before collapsing on the floor in a big sleepy mess.
With an entire working day behind you in the EU and cofffee flowing from your .. erm self its a hard slog every week.

Now while a queue or a wati to play for the evening isnt ideal its really not as unreasonable a situation as the EU guys have been facing from my point of view. I would gladly take a middle of the afternoon reset then queue and play all night than stay up until 2am.

A genuine question would be though that for the NA players that feel this isn’t the answer right now, would you be happy to shift to a 2am reset time?

Bear in mind anet cant split the times that’s off the table (at least for now i would guess) so it’s asked only to possibly suggest that before one complains about queueing or eating dinner or anything of that ilk, would you really be happy in the EU players shoes?

Its not likely that the times will be seperated. I beleive anet have stated this isnt possible. As it stands 2 hours would hardly cause a huge problem to every na players … However for eu players this is the difference between 2am am midnight…. Its a step they will be entirely thankful for from my pov

Afterlife have finally completed our transfer period and will be entering battle this reset. For what we’ve seen this week great fights lots of facing off against big numbers and we had a great time last night. Pretty even fights all over the map in deso BL.

We are a wvw focused pvp guild based on Desolation server in the EU. We have been around as a community for several years first formed in aion in 2009 and we have always played as a pvp guild.

We have over a hundred members which allows us to run raids of around 15 players most nights.

We tend to run WvW raids 6 nights of the week during eu prime time and have a number of experienced and capable raid leads able to lead you into the sea of red that we encounter.

Afterlife have moved! We’ve unpacked the boxes, we’ve unwrapped the china and that funny smell is still in the air (that might just be me). As you can see from our post we are now situated on Desolation Server.

Not entirrly sure if this is design intended but as of this morning im noting that in orr orrian farmers are digging up undead limbs then running over to your character and just standing beside you for 6 ish seconds doing nothing. It feels like the scripted time between the actions is unintentionally long between it digging up a limb and then attacking. ill upload a video when i have some free time but this just doesnt feel like a threat any more and felt it was worth flagging incase its not intended

With Piken Square have moved into tier 2 and continuing to push hard in the WvW rankings we are particularly looking for new recruits to help bolster our numbers and help us to help Piken succeed.

Back to zerging! BOON had great fun with the French in BB Borderlands last night.

Boss room backstab in Garrison, sorry AR, sat back and waited for them to do the hard work and break into fortified Garrison and shamelessly came in behind, epic boss room fight kicked off for 10 mins including them rallying and all coming back to try do it back to us!!!!

Once Keeps were all secured started to pin them in spawn which the were not having any off all kicked off in Bluebriar tower in a zomg 20 min door down tower fight, sorry we had to leave Garrison was under attack by BB and we chose to save it over the tower

The battles inside bay were pretty epic too must have had 150+ player inside bay at one point from all three servers with outer and inner walls and doors down how it didn’t flip is still beyond me crazy stuff \o/

We have been around since 2009 where we formed in Aion on Telemachus and have had significant success in mmos since. We are purely pvp based.

As a semi hardcore to hardcore guild we have a good number of well skilled players and do have attendance requirements for wvw raiding if you are online.

We use teamspeak for comms and expect users to use this.

We run on Piken Square Server which, as a medium pop server, allows us to enter WvW nightly as a guild with little to no queuing time and co ordinate with our allies effectively.

In return we will provide a pvp community, wvw raids every night with experienced raid leads and well established allies.
