With paid transfers almost upon us and server levels fluctuating all over the game I’d like to take a moment to encourage anyone interested in a well established WvW guild that is part of the core Piken Square community to please feel free to contact us.

We are still open to applicants and we are still fighting i WvW every night . have a look and you will find us fighting something that’s not from Piken Square.

Nice to see that Gandara (despite the lower numbers now) really have felt the benefit of fighting Piken Square for a few weeks.

That’s something we are noting on our current matchup that despite the tier of this matchup Gandara are a real quality server in wvw. Good luck all and have fun

Serious note though people dont see golem rushes as skilled but when you use a golem ruch in the middle of a very busy prime time battlefield to be effective its not brainless . If you pop a bunch of golems into a battlefield thats full of enemy players at the wrong time on the wrong gate you are deeeeeeeead as a dead thing.

I’d go into tactics in more details as to this but Id probably et abuse for it from my guys and girls for it

Guys on AR and Gandara dont get put off by PS attack at reset. It’s pretty common knowledge we do hit hard on reset and try to string it out until dayshift arrives . From the looks of things this afternoon you’re giving it a go so hopefully we will have some decent fights this evening

decent night last night, started off really slow with Bay being breached and saved at the last gasp repeatedly and we got a bit more action when we got down to it and started breaking into Gandarans forts rather tha sitting back on it. shame we never managed to take advantage of our golem rush after I ported out of garrison with aftls golems.

Ended the night skirmishing between AFTL/GG and a bunch of Ldf from AR and a number of randoms they had. props to em despite your increased numbers you were running a very well organised raid had fun with it.

Don’t worry too much Screenanger i managed to get our 1/3rd of EB back and capped whole of Piken border, also Hills on AR border coz i wanted to play around a bit. Some nice fights, least there were some people trying to defend the stuff we were taking!

Just want to say a huge ty to everyone in EB last night. Great co ordination and assists from all the PS friendlies and great fights from AR. :-)

Decent fights last night on (was it AR BL ?) Bad luck on the Golems getting caught just outside of Dawns as we were about to cata the walls and it was a pretty even three way fight with KA AFTL and others wiping out three way fights in Bay and getting pushed back off Garrison repeatedly.

Really pretty even though I felt like AR really had the numbers to get hills back (or attempt it) but just sat back in Garrison for way too long .

While not on Gandara Afterlife are a PvP focused gaming community based on Piken Square. You may have come up against us in the last couple of weeks (probably will again by the looks of things )

We are an active community est in 2009 and now exist across a number of games including aion, wow and GW2.
Our GW2 guild have active raids in WvW every night and have helped to establish Piken Square as an effective WvW force.
We have a member base of around 100 with nightly raids running around 15+ people .
We run ts3 and expect all members to use this for comms.

Recruitment for our SPvP branch has now closed. We intend to re open this when the ramp up to Anet and privately hosted tournaments continues.

I think we probably have a language breakdown here mate. I you read that as intended I was giving a single example of a situation. At no point did I say that ER had no strategy I did however say that PS had low numbers which is true. As for the specific example it did happen and I wouldn’t consider it provocative as it was the most extreme example of the difference in playstyle and tactics I’ve found in general between PS and ER during the weekend. My comments were a reflection on this.
There were no untrue or unreasonable statements there I would hope.

Krato mate I completely understand what you are saying but I dont think all of the players on Elonas Reach are all so disregarding of us. I think anyone with a level head thats played this week in WvW (especially at reset) can see that PS is just low on numbers in comparison.

Indeed the best example of this is form last night. While fighting for astra supply camp we had maybe 12 odd PS players at most fighting a 30+ ER blob … the kind that causes your culling to just remove everything

ON watching them roll in and over people I called “step ff the main road and pick them off” and the blob proceeded to roll through the supply camp out the exit then back in down the road out the other exit without even seeing us while we were pounding them with two ac’s.

TBH it comes down to how you want to play and we play a totally different style to that with lower numbers. Im fine with that in the long run id rather have that

We’ve been finding some awesome fights so far guys last night def everyone had something to be proud of . Had a great time fighting a force hugely bigger than us at the start of EU prime time tons of kills at Kodash Hills last night when we had the south door pinned in with arrow carts

Bit late to the party here but seeing as how I don’t generally check the forums here I’d just like to restate Afterlife are loving the situation in Piken Square and have no intention of leaving for the exact same reason Katiechops and Boon are there. I’d rather get into WvW at the end of the day and play decent players than sit for 5 hours deal with trolls and deal with all the other nonsense the higher tier servers need to.

Loving the match ups chin up guys this is some of the best pvp we’ve had since we started the game imo.

Just to add piken square has a number of rp and non rp guilds in wv. When it comes down to it the guilds in wvw are completely competent and do in no way represent the stereotypes we have all come to hate. :-)
We have a good solid set of active prime time guilds that work well together and id love to see us build on this

To update this we are currently looking for an increase in mesmer numbers. Applications are still welcome from other professions and quality players however I’m looking to increase our numbers of mesmers and these will be looked on favorably.

We have recently moved over to Piken Sq server as an additional note.

two thigns are on my shopping list

1: I’ll be having dances as soon as somebody stocks them

2: Guild logos in whatever form they come in. i can assure you I would flat out pay an exhorbitantly stupid cost to get our actual guild logo in game. I’m not going to pretend like it matters a little I’d pay stupid money for it. Its part of your guilds branding and its def one of the ones we’d love to see

I think in terms of general public awareness there may be a lack of knowledge relating to GW2 at all… people dont know it and I still haev to relate it to WoW for non gamers but! and this is the but, the marketing department have in all fairness hit it out the park where it matters.

lets step back and say what we know.

Just a quick google tells us that gw2 has sold over 2 mil copies. Now assuming this to be true and at 50 quid a pop the marketting dept can already say they’ve dropped a win on that one. ncsoft are already in profit.

now the gem shop. As for the gem shop on a purely personal note Im dropping more than I would pay for a subscription on the gem store easy.

In fairness i’d stick my neck out and saying that as a focused effort they’re doing pretty well at selling it on that alone

Afterlife are recruiting for active players in the WvW realm and tour tPvP teams also.

We are fully focused on PvP and are on Vabbi Server.
Being on Vabbi we are not part of a large sever with large wvw queues and tend to have a close line of communication with other active guild raids in WvW.

The two main arms of the guild include

tPvP
Our tourny team are a dedicated group of players who almost solely play structured 5v5 matches. They have an excellent win/loss ratio and take part in a regular training schedule.

WvW
Our WvW arm is expanding rapidly at this stage. We formed with a very small core group of players co ordinating with other players to move as fast acting strike/scouting and attack force. We are expanding this force in size not to reach a zerg but to continue to keep the attributes we already value while allowing us greater flexibility to scout, co ordiante and support larger objective takes.

We are considered semi hardcore to hardcore and raid almost every night of the week. With a teamspeak available and dedicated community website you will find our full recruitment post below
