Used about 100 rares (not a lot) on spark. Got nothing.
Used about 20-30 exotic longbows, got leaf of kudzu.
Used 8 exotic pistols, got chaos gun.
Went YOLO mode with random weapons. Got The Bard.

Rng will be rng.

Right now we can get anywhere between 1 and 5 dusts per salvage.

Average seems to be 2. People say 1.9, but same thing really.

Flipping is the market verifying the true value of an item. If a flipper jacks up the price and nobody buys or he is undercut, he takes a loss(listing fee) and the market rejects his proposed value for the item. Flippers make money because the effort to aquire the items otherwise is too much for the average person so they prefer to just pay more for the labor of the person who doesnt mind. It all comes back to RNG, if the price is too much for you just go buy up pebbles and get to forging or hope for deus ex anet to add them to some future loot bags the way they did with lodestones and champion bags.

I think the sooner they do this(if they do) the better it would be. How would you feel if the value of doubloons were 3g or 5g versus where they are now? So by doing something like this now the heartache or the complaining would be less.

Lets say someone buys 100 gold worth of silver doubloons, and this patch rolls along. What happens then. Is the 100 gold gone because silver doubloon demand is gone too?
Reimbursing would probably have to take place, and Arenanet doesn’t reimburse people that are associated with the market.

I looked and saw unidentified dyes being sold for 5-10 silver. I crie evry tiem. :’(

If people don’t care about your legendaries, why do you care? Let them turn it off. Those who do care/neutral on the subject will be able to see your legendary greatnesss. I also HIGHLY doubt many people would use this feature. Just those who are bothered I guess. This is coming from a person who only wishes to cover the world in confetti with the Quip.

People who have received precursors: They’ll be too many legendaries/they should still be expensive if the price were to drop.
People who have not received precursors: Make it 300G! Anything less and I quit. Shouldn’t be RNG, etc etc etc.

I want precursors to be difficult, but doable. I also want them to not involve RNG (unless its somehow acceptable). This is coming from a person who got 2 precursors from the forge.

I am 100% certain you will not get all those back. Its only if you transmuted an item.
If you say, transmuted eternity with another weapon for the stats before the patch, and used the splitter, you would have received the eternity and the weapon back.

Would it be worth the gift of fortune, the gift of X, and the gift of mastery? Probably not. Also, what do you mean the gift of X. Does arenanet have to create a gift for every single weapon or is there some gift that will be universal for all weapons? Its a nice idea, but I would doubt people would do it since legendaries are known for their effects, not their stats.

Salvaging ectos will give you SOOOOOO MUCH luck. (I have 85, and I haven’t salvaged in a while). However, unless you have a bunch of ectos you don’t need, really really want luck fast, or willing to make a loss, I suggest you do not salvage ectos at the moment. The average is 1-2 dusts per ecto, and that doesnt even cover the costs of 1. You could get lucky and get 5 dusts, but I wouldn’t take that risk

Do basic hearts and such until level 10. Then do cooking until level 17. (You can choose to do jewelry for an extra 7 levels) Start wvw then. Seems the fastest way for me
