characters are talking more. it’s really noticeable at world boss events but even just running around i found my norn is blabbing away.
i actually like it but at boss events it does get pretty noisy.
the thing is the probability is actually much lower because the only dye you want is shadow abyss (the other shadow dyes are on tp for 14-25 gp or so and it would make more sense just to buy them rather than use gems).
well 225 gp on tp is pretty pricey. so the 50 gp investment for the rng paid off but admittedly i got lucky and some of the thinking was if i buy 5 pack and get another shadow i don’t want i can sell it and recoup at least some of my investment.
but it was a one off thing-if i didn’t get shadow abyss on the 5 pack i wasn’t going for another dye pack i was going to grind for the 225 gp and buy on tp. puts the player in a tough spot really but if they offered choice of a select shadow dye for more gems it would be fairer (again say 800-1000 gems for your choice of shadow dyes).
with the rng on dye packs anet created the 200 gp dye and it’s only been out like what 2 days or so…
i bought a dye 5 pack yesterday and got a shadow abyss and then bought one more single just to try my luck (no dice i got like a common green).
but the dye pack is problematic as i could have missed…i don’t understand why anet doesnt offer the 5 pack at a certain price and then specific dyes at a higher gem price (4-500 for the pack and 800-1000 for a specific dye out of the set).
as it is i’m happy but if i had missed i probably would have gone to tp (200gp + ^^;….) for shadow abyss.
a couple of good dark dyes are relatively inexpensive like black cherry and midnight ice ( i did say relatively). could also have some fun with the imperial red and yellow but personal faves are the electro series (lime/peach/yellow/pink/blue…just do a search for electro on trading post). these are pretty expensive tho but something to shoot for.
elaine canterwell … norn thieves ftw
head- reading glasses
chest-shadow thief
gloves-noble gloves
legs-viper’s armor
boots- magitech medium
@dark wasp yeah that’s a pretty good rhythm and pretty much what i’ve found myself doing lately. start with tequatl then maw then onto sw while checking in on cursed shores for various temple events/lyssa. maybe not optimal for gold farming but it’s relaxing and you do get plenty of loot.
i used to run jormag but it’s really long for comparatively little loot (altho there is a mild lottery factor-i got a sword worth 60 gp once).
wondering if there are some other areas/regions that offer a cursed shore type run…feels like the game is getting really small at this point (i’m just running in two or three areas). is fireheart rise or frostgorge worth adding to rotation?
best solution i can think of if you have a free spot is create an alt just to hold them. 15 slot bags are pretty cheap and one alt could hold say 70 stacks of dragonite/bloodstone/empyrean.
solli solstice aka ‘the annihilator’ … mesmers ftw
head – nightmare court regalia
shoulders- exalted mantle
chest- carapace vestments
gloves – exalted gloves
legs- profane pants
shoes- aurora shoes
For once my fashion addiction paid off, i had an extra set of appearance armor for the fight. I solo’ed on mesmer but died like 6 times. And I actually liked the ring the first time thru…but by the third time it was really tedious. The ring is a cool addition and sort of ‘makes sense’ in a boss fight but why three times? And why is fighting the dragon the easiest part? After you finish the ring you can just smack on the dragon.
And it really highlights just how useless your comrades are (not just in this fight but all of the time). I mean after you finish you really do feel like a hero because this group your with isn’t capable of saving anything. I got tired of hearing ‘hey boss’ and then she throws a circle right on a mine. Just throw the ring in the same spot or better yet jump in the arena and help me. Anet should keep the personal challenges the same but make at least a nod to immersion by making the npc’s seem relevant-up the number of creatures and show the npc’s taking down at least some of them.
Now why did i finish it? The story rocks..the caithe/wynne/faolin minidrama was really good. And in fairness after the battle(wore me out) i really did want to kill the dragon.
Notes- On npc weakness and frankly stupidity why does the trinity set up bases that are constantly overrun. And in the last cutscene where all the ships are getting destroyed i was facepalming. I mean guys plan a little bit better than ‘were going to ride the ships into the jungle’…totally reinforces the idea that you are the only one capable of saving the day-because your comrades are constantly doing moronic things.
