i have full CoF/Arah set with ruby orbs, full exotic jewellry set with ruby orbs and berserker staff.
with fire sigil i only get up to 60%, you must have some item buff, food or player buff.
or superior sigil of perception?

Its not D/D that needs buffing. Actually its one of the few weaponsets that do ok in sPvP
Staff in other hand, does crap ST damage, and the AoE is not better then otehr classes AoE, not nearly as bursty in either ST or AoE as other classes.
And no, it doesnt have more support then other classes.
Neither do i use staff to be support, and nowhere does it say staff is support.
Most of the skills in staff are easily avoided by dodging over or running around.
Most of the ST skills have no homing so the enemy just moves to the side to avoid it.
Most of the ST staff skills travel so slow you can go watch the LOTR triology while waiting for the skill to land
Staff needs a big overhaul to be more viable while roaming in WvW, the skills need to activate faster, the skills need to follow the target more, and a damage increase is needed on almost all skills to be on other classes level.
Dont want to many maps either.
Taking DaoC as an example again, the old frontiers were always prefered over the new frontiers. Reason beeing the maps were smaller, there were more narrow paths that made the 3 sides fight eachother more, and the keeps were better located.
Having to big maps makes it so that everyone is just avoiding eachother rather then fighting. I rather have smaller maps with fewer keeps. As it is now in many GW2 maps its mostly about Trebbing the nearest keep becouse theres so many of them.
Hard to have original tactics when the maps are exactly the same. Its the smae tactics on every map.

FS is getting crappier and crappier, many good pvp players have quit or only go to one bordermap.
Yet, i dont think VZ is number 1, or number 2 for that matter. Most of their points they get during the night. When theres even numbers, VZ almost never have the highest points.
Its only now when noone from FS or River go there becouse the gap is to big, that VZ gets a little more points.
VZ is basicly only fighting the PvErs that are there to fight the giant grub, people that think their experts but are proven wrong 1 minute later, and people that are blindly hitting a fully upgraded SM crammed with sieges and 40 players defending it during the day now.
Theres a high possbility that Riverside will drop down, and Arborstone will move up.
Will be so much fun fighting 2 French servers, not like they will ally against us or something.
Eternal Battleground is the most fun map in my opinion. Unfortunally EVERYONE goes there, and not the best players. Mostly its filled with people that stands at SM shooting up at enemies defending it.
So getting anything good going in EB is impossible.
Then we have the border maps, their all exactly the same, which makes it quite boring. Imo the maps themselves are quite boring.
Theres nothing “special” to do there and most of the time its about the garrison trebbing DB, and the rest capturing supply camps.
Wouldnt it be more fun to have 3 different maps? i get it that is more even to have it exactly the same, but couldnt there be some kind of rotation that makes it impossible to get on the same map two weeks in a row?
Also it creates the problem with the same servers always beeing the same colour.
My server has been blue for 5 weeks now, it would be fun to defend any of the other sides in EB for once. Theres not that many servers, would it be so hard to manually set out the server colours?
Its the same thing is PvE in some areas wheres theres alot of people doing events. You only see arrows flying around. Orr events mostly

I always get laughed at from my guildies for picking the classes that gets roflstomped by the devs….to the point where they forbid me to roll the classes their going to play becouse then they will get nerfed..

Correct. Staff is useless in wvw except when you can land metoer shower on walls or people below walls. Other times enemies just stay out of anything staff elementalist throw.
And if the enemy move 1 inch to the side, your spell wont land.
None of the nr1 skills like fireball have any homing and misses 99% of the time.
You can watch a 4 hour movie while fireball cast and travels to the enemy its so kitten slow.
Nowhere did it say Elementalist is a support class.

As an Asura elementalist, i have 5 Pets including the Deluxe one.
None of them can move down walls or up.
All of the racial/game version ones are even more useless then the ones Ele have on their own.
A golem that lasts for 30 seconds..
The tornado doesnt make you damage immune, your also slow, so its worthless.
The fire greatsword doesnt have any range, and gl going into melee as an Ele in WvW

Its not fine to get beaten week over week becouse one side captures everything during night. WvW is about getting the most points at the end of the week.
How much fun is it when during the day the numbers are 19k 20k 20k, and after the night its 40k 20k 20k?
How many hours will it take until the 2 sides without nightcappers just stops playing, when they all know its already decided who will win after the first night?
Same thing has happened day after day, week after week since release, always against same servers
It wont be that long before people will leave WvW and the game, its already happening.
Anet needs to find a solution to it, to benefit all servers, and not just 1
I would have done the same if it was my server, its not that were blaming Vizunah as a server. Its more that it ruins the game experiance for everyone. Is it really that fun for Vizunah to win by default having 100% during the night? knowing that during the day, they are hardly ever “in the lead”?

not as staff no, and theres not tons. theres 4 cc abilities, which you need to switch attunements for, with long cooldowns. and one single target knockback, which also has long cooldown.
And all of them are easily avoided.
No invulnrability in Staff.
Staff is aweful dps. Its our main ranged weapon, yet enemies get to you extremly fast.
You have to throw every cc you have, switch attunements on the go and throw our everything you have.
You kite around like a merry go around and you cant heal effectivly becouse your running around. Even after throwing out everything, the mobs many times are not dead so your dealing with cooldowns.
God forbid you get more then 2 mobs on you.
At the same time, the guardian or warrior next to you have cleared the path with 10 mobs, tanking them while standing still spamming aoe and using a little healing, while your still fighting your first 2 mobs.
And get the “go back to wow” stuff out of any forums.

Your also wrong in what kind of age the playerbase is now and then.
The majority of mmo players have always been over 25 with jobs. INfact, its more likely its decreasing as mmo become more mainstream.
Also GW2 is B2P, so any underage player can get it and dont have to use their parent creditcard.
Also theres much more then 5% of the playerbase doing the harder content. Its just a number the game you bash on so much, have thrown out but arent correct.
Ive played mmos since Meridian, and in all games that have had raiding, around 20%+ are raiding.
Its to bad that the rest cant get it, but its those players that drives the game forward.
3 types of players.
The casuals that dont raid
The Middle group that dont have that much time but raids and do harder content when they can
And the treadmill players that play every aspect of the game and like character progression and doing hard content with other players.
The last group will quit if there arent enough content for them.
The middle group will be there for a while but since they also want to do raiding and harder content but dont have time to figure it out, theyll leave soon aswell becouse theres noone left to take them through the content.
Left you have the casuals, but their not the most loyal of players, and when they have explored everything, they will leave aswell for another game.
If you have treadmill games, all of them will stay, atleast for a longer time. The casuals will whine alot about not beeing able to get the gear they have no use for anyways, but theyll find other stuff to do.
I myself want both things, i want treadmill and characterprogression, but i also want stuff to do around that. “minigames” achievements, good crafting system etc

Character progression players are a huge majority over the “get it all for free” players.

Why do you care if there is a treadmill or not? its not like your going to use the items you get from there anyways becouse your busy looking at flowers or videos of vistas.
Treadmill games survive much longer then " i wear purty armor" games.
Theres only a couple of exeptions, and those games have some treadmill in them other then gear. Even GW1 has more character progression and treadmills.
I think the only ones that complain about treadmills are the ones that dont have time to do the content where you get them.
Im sorry but that is how it has to be, if you go to work, you wont get paid as much if you work 10 hours as the guy working 20 hours a week.
Games like DaoC, EQ, WoW, Eve etc wouldnt have survived if there werent goals in the game that kept on advancing your character.
It doesnt matter if the gear becomes obsolete in the next expansion, its about the achievement of completing the set, progressing your character. Its even mroe rewarding if you do it with your friends/guild, beating down that hard boss you been working on for months.
Getting new stuff to do in an expansion is only a good thing for us maximisers, its mean we can progress our characer EVEN more.

Endgame to me is about gearing up together with your guild, doing dungeons together, so you can go raiding and beating hard content together.
Also about maximising yoru character in stats, even getting 1 more str from one piece to another is an improvement.
Looks is secondary to stats.
Character Progression is what drives mmos forward and keeps them alive, and that will be the downfall of GW2. It will stay alive, but with a population around 200k players.
Most players are already at the point where they cant improve their character, hence many have stoped playing.

It was exactly like this in SWToR aswell. Most people that didnt have blindfolds on realizes quite quickittenhe faults of the game, while the fanboys posted stuff like you did to redicule the worried ones.
It didnt go to well for that game.
My guild has gone from 80 players to 16 logging in each day since launch. Most of them give the reason to the game beeing boring an repetative to levelup in, and there not beeing any endgame.
Ye wvw kills for monthly is kinda bad idea. Maybe for a PvP monthly.
WvW already have limited spots.
Having gathering nodes, pve enemies and that stupid grub ruins the WvW effort on many servers if 50% of the players there are there to PvE, which you can do in the normal zones.
Killing guards etc are part of the WvW experiance even if its npcs since it contributes to your servers points. Killing some giant grub or gathering mats, are not.
Unplayable no, but compared to other classes, the Elementalist have to work much harder but dont get near the rewards as those classes get by pressing 4-5 skills.
At the same time they also have more base HP, more crit chance, more toughness, more vitality and have high burst aoe and ST in the same builds, and can switch from high ranged damage to high melee damage by switching weapons.

Most of them are massive repetative grinds. Not grinds that takes 2 hours to complete 5 times , but grinds that takes 5 mins to complete, then you have to do it over and over and over 200 times.
The others are just “forced” out by fanboys to try and look like theres things to do.

They all pretty much say the same thing.
“Find/Buy All Your Favorite Looking Gear With Gold And Karma” Most already have. Grinding for more gold/karma/tokens to get a set with worse stats and worse looks..doubt to many are a fan of that.
Many of them are the same thing, just using different words. And many of us dislike playing alts, we want to progress with out mains.
I didnt expect there to be raids at the end, but many of uxpected something ele to be there instead. BUt its just like any other mmo without the raiding and only keeping the tedious “pre gearing” boring grind dungeons from those games.
Its like it has 50% less things to do at endgame then any other mmo, and most of it are meaningless to do becouse other then looks, you cant use it for anything.
I always manage to choose the class that gets ignored by developers..
GW2 – Ele, SWToR – Commando, Rift – Rogue, Aion – Assassin, AoC – Barbarian…and the list goes on.
The Ele needs fixes, and a damage increase in staff line, and making meteor shower actually hit something, and more if you take the bigger aoe trait, not only get spread out more.
I’m not sure that it’s meant to be a status symbol, but if a server does not move from it’s position, it is locked to that color. It seems as though the only way HoD can shift to a different color with the current system is to lose.
It is also apparent that green is the most difficult area on EB to defend. It’s the lowest ground, both towers can be trebed from SM and the Lowland’s Keep is the most vulnerable to attack from multiple sides.
A wise frog once said “It’s not easy being green,” but we’ve been proving him wrong since day 1.
Blue is the hardest to defend. Theres no gigantic “walls” that seperate the borders from the other 2, like the big mountain between green and red.
Theres no “walls” protecting the camps. Long way to walk from main keep to camps. All keeps are easily accesed by both other sides.
Green side can easily acces their camps and keeps fast.
Blue side can be accesed from pretty much everywhere on the east half of the area, and a big part of the west. Green side can only be acces by blue and red from 2 narrow paths each.
In before “stop being so selfish”, “recruit american guilds”, “why should they have less fun”, “your night time is not their everyone’s night time”…
and last but not least “deal with it”.
That should cover all of the standard one liners regarding this issue.

FS is not second, all the good pvp players have quit.
Noone around after reset, not even any queue.
Loosing badly whole week.
Theres only 5-6 players that have any clue what their doing in WvW anymore on FS.
After the reset we soon realized how bad it was and started whispering eachother that we should move as soon as we can. The playerbase after all the free server transfers have deteriorated so much.
When you can move your guild without loosing the upgrades, im out of FS, and i hope we can create a more WvW guild centric server with english speaking community somewhere with other guilds that are tired about the same thing.

In my opinion “the holy trinity” makes for a more fun experiance. As it is now, everyone is just running around all over the place.
Its much easier playing as a team and everyone doing their “job” with a tank, healer etc

This is exactly what happens in EU in the top tier
Vizunah-Far shiverpeaks-Riverside
Vizunah atacks FS becouse their the biggest threat and they have beaten them before.
Riverside attacks FS becouse they know they cant beat Vizunah
The Viz and River Borderkeeps never gets attacked during the day, only when Viz nightcaps.
Both borderkeeps on FS side gets attacked constantly including the supply camps, so FS have to run back and forth between those two places the whole day.
If Viz holds SM, River wont attack it, their not their target. If FS holds SM, both sides attack.
If FS attack green borderkeeps, River attacks blue borderkeeps.
If FS attacks River borderkeeps, Viz attacks Blue borderkeeps.
Resulting in 240k for Viz, 140k for FS and 140k for River. Alot of that coming from Viz nightcapping but also from FS constantly having to fight 2v1.
I also think that Blue side is easier to attack, more open space and easier to get to keeps/camps without obstacles.

Are there any WvW guilds, that once we will be able to transfer our guilds to another server and keep our upgrades, wants to transfer server to make our WvW experiance better?
Right now theres alot of servers with only a few dedicated players/guilds that really wants to work as teams in WvW. Most of the time its just people roaming about without any coordination.
On my server, this has become a severe problem since more and more move to my server to seek glory becouse we are in tier 1. And its not the kind of WvW players you want on your server. The quality in players have really gone down overall.
If people would want this, this would happen right before they remove the free transfer to limit the amount of bad wvw players joining for glory.
So it would have to be kept a bit secret aswell, maybe a private forum.
I get Freezes aswell after last patch.
Mostly in WvW where the whole client freezes and stops responding, i have to close it down using C-A-D
problem with ground aoe cc is that enemies can easily avoid it by running around it, dodging it or simply using a movement skill. like our favorite heartseeker.
alot of classes have skills that makes them immune to cc for a mucg longer duration then our cc lasts
im ok with it, the homing thing is a much more annoying

Theres no way to continuasly cripple/slow enemies like other ranged classes can, for example ranger. The CC in Staff is quite weak and only last a second.
We have to be in air to keep up our speedbuff, all the while, the other classes next to you can use it all the time, and even when you have the 25% air talent specced, other classes run just as fast as you, or faster, without having to spec into an “attunement”
This also makes is extremly easy for enemies to escape you, since it only works out of combat, or to keep up with you trying to run away.
The damage in staff is quite weak, it might hit for 2k+ on a crit, but the damage ticks comes in so slow compared to other classes. A ranger attacks for example hits you 3-4 times as fast for the same damage per hit.
I Would also like to see a talent that makes all attuenments have some kind of built in cc. Like all fire having a chance to knockback/knockdown- All Water having a chance to chill. All air having a chance to stun and all earth having a chance to cripple.

maybe have 3 points counting system, one that counts during the day, one that counts during the night and one total.
It wouldnt solve the matchup but atleast people would see which server is the best during day and night.
Im ok with it beeing hard and all, the problem is that it takes such a long time to get to him compared to other dungeons. Were not talking stats on gear either, its just a skin.
