The game needs a fov slider, it takes 10 minutes to make one.

I didn’t even know what FoV was before you guys started complaining about it.
…but now that I do, yeah, I want a FoV slider as well, the world is simply more beautiful when you can actually see it. Now I’m spoiled.
Surveys need to come back. I don’t even care if anyone actually reads them, I just like surveys. It could be advertised as a feature. “Guild Wars 2: now with more surveys!”
General PvE is so easy that anything will work, and so will Mesmers. Just go glass cannon with Sword+Focus/Greatsword and you’ll do no worse than anyone else.
Now, dungeons actually need some thought, and Mesmers can be pretty versatile. Illusions are effective at taking heat off other party members, iWarlock/iWarden have crazy single-target damage… Feedback, Null Field and Chaos Warp are also MvPs. These are tools that any build can use effectively.
Other than that, I’ve done Ascalon with one guy that had the traits that make Diversion work on allies and reflect projectiles, that was fun. I myself use a GS/Staff build with permanent regen to all allies and protection on myself, which together with iDefender makes me pretty much unkillable. Portal, Blink and Mass Invisibility can be used to bypass large sections of certain dungeons.
So yeah, I think Mesmers are very viable and fun in PvE.
Illusionary Membrane applies 2 seconds of Protection whenever you gain regeneration. So, a source of regeneration that constantly re-applies it (such as healing turrets, seeds, and phantasms with the Phantasmal Healing trait) would provide near constant Protection? Or does it have a hidden cooldown?
I run a Staff and Scepter/Torch. The torch helps me get around with the movement speed buff, and the reflecting projectiles phantasm can help a lot in certain areas. I haven’t tried anything out in PVP yet though.
You mean Scepter/Focus. The torch skills are invisiblity and a phantasm that causes confusion.
I’m not sure what you meant by saying that the berserker wasnt very reliable, could you elaborate please?
I mean that he won’t always spin in the direction you want him to, or as often as you’d hope. As a single-target snare it is actually pretty reliable, but you can’t count on it hitting an area. If you want a single-target snare, you’d probably be better off with Sword #3, which also cripples but also teleports you in to close the gap. As for area snares, Focus’ Temporal Curtain cripples in a line, buffs allies and pulls/interrupts the target back when he tries to escape.
I try to post but I get errors
You do realize you’re posting about not being able to post, right?
Also, still the wrong forum.
The joy of mantras is that they can be cast in the middle of anything else.
This. I find them to very worthwhile, especially the daze. If you played as a Mesmer in GW1, you can understand why an instant interrupt is incredibly useful, and very rare in GW2.
Huh. I’ve never noticed this, but it’s true.
Regardless, you should post this to the Support forums, not here.
You could just post the list, you know. Or even report this on the Support forums, where it belongs.
My phantasms die after a single skill use anywys, not on target death, not when I shatter, they just use their skill and die a second later so its all completely pointless anyways. Sorry.
This is not happening with me. Phantasmal Berskers, Wardens and Warlocks only die when taking damage, shattered, or on target death.
Aside from focus I consider greatsword to be the weapon I use in most cases, it’s just straight good damage and range, and I’m a fan of both(even tho I hope they’ll make our GS skill #3 be a litttle better in the future…)
Thing is, GS is a single-target weapon. #3 has too small an area, and Phantasmal Berserker is not very reliable. Staff, on the other hand, has both superb single-target damage (Phantasmal Warlock) and Chaos Storm, which can single-handedly turn the tide on a group fight.
Also, why Scepter over Sword?
I also like to empower the illusions, they can hurt a lot, but given the weapons I use (GS, 2xSword, Pistol) i stack Power, Precision and Toughness… i’ve been thinking if that toughness is really worth stacking instead going full power/precision/+% crit damage
If you do the dungeons, toughness is very much necessary. Extra damage is worthless if you’re constantly downed.
For traits, I started going Power/Precision/Condition Damage, but now I’m starting to favor the defensive stats. Some of the Chaos/Inspiration traits are just sick, especially Warden’s Feedback (makes focus skills reflect projectiles AND reduces their cooldowns). Desperate Decoy and Deceptive Evasion from Dueling are also very strong. I think Mesmers can be the one of the hardest classes to kill, and that we should take advantage of it.
As for weapons, Sword/Focus and Staff. Good DPS, great support, very hard to kill.
I’d argue for Sword/Focus over Sword/Pistol. Focus gives you a speed buff that doubles as a combo field in battle, and the Phantasmal Warden is INSANE. Coupled with Feedback/Moa, you can make ranged mobs completely useless.
