Just change it to Frozen Harpies – instantly becomes less offensive without being to far off your original name and no risk of the dreaded 3 day ban – not sure that will fly with the frozen wings though….

I do this also – are there enough funds in the account? Are you purchasing in US dollars or another currency? I purchase in NZ dollars and sometimes my conversion isn’t correct and get this same message….

Unless it’s another name they are requesting you change “Two Hand Touch” seems pretty far fetched as being offensive…

It seems that the first time I spawn there I ALWAYS get stuck and the second time I respawn I become unstuck if that helps or not…

You could play pvp to amuse yourself while you wait the 7 days…you’re up and running straight away and can experiment with different professions and builds. I JUST started pvp this week after playing since launch and having SO much fun…. if that fails to amuse you go fishing instead =)

I have changed one of my characters names using a name change contract and a name that I had deleted on another character:

I “stored” a character (let’s call this Character A) with a name that I wanted for my main(Character B ).
I then deleted Character A – then used a name change contract on Character B using the name from Character A.

I did this all in the space of 5 minutes….I didn’t encounter any issues.

Now I’m super duper curious now as to what this super duper name is that everyone would want!

My account was just banned for 74 hours or somethin like that for an abusive name or somethin. I was lead to believe you’d get a warning or be asked to change your name before it led to banning and i would’ve deleted my toon if it had been requested. Just saying it’s a little hasty and kinda just stupid in my opinion to take such drastic measure’s into play for a simple name change.

Sounds like you were intentionally testing the system.

This doesn’t mean he was aware that his name was offensive…. more likely he was aware that others had been given warnings for offensive names…

I’d just argue back saying Poobadoo is an offensive name and he should be banned from the game or they should change his name – just as offensive than Long Black Bob… two known references to excrement rather than a possibly implied reference to something that could be offensive.

Just curious, following the same pattern of thought on “potentially” offensive names, shouldn’t Poobadoo (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Poobadoo) be given a suspension for his “unacceptable” name? He actually has 2 references to excrement.

The issue IMO isn’t about the word you used entirely but also HOW you used the word…

You didn’t just say a “naughty word” – how you used it could be viewed by ANet as inciting racial hatred…

You could say what you said with non offensive words and it would still be a reportable and bannable offence…

Just speaking to my guildie about this right now and we’re both feeling very uncomfortable with this situation. Not knowing what’s going on and why people were banned in the first place just leaves the rest of us in the dark leading to the point where you don’t know what you can and can’t do. For now, we’re thinking to just stick with dailies and dungeon runs.

Would farming a very profitable place be considered an exploit? Or grinding the same area for hours just because you CAN be considered “botting”? I am personally putting down a lot of time grinding for my first legendary, so how am I now supposed to feel safe about doing just what the game offers me?

Totally with you on that – I got “banned” after farming Arctodi for Vials of Powerful blood for the very first time. After a long day at work I enjoyed just sitting at my computer and worked out a route that is long enough to respawn by the time I’ve finished…and just kept doing that for a couple of hours… I find it hard to believe they “reviewed” my actions before banning me – which was well after my farming period and during a time when I was doing a Guild Quest (yep and thanks – due to that I missed out on getting a gold and credits).
I later got reinstated saying that I had done nothing wrong and my account was blocked in error. Coincidence that it was after the first time I ever farmed the same mob type over and over again? Doesn’t seem like it was a human error…

I now am too scared to continue farming because I don’t want to risk being accused of being a botter and banned – I hate not being able to log in when I want to… and it kind of affects my play style – I don’t like dungeons or talking in guild chat – I just like doing my own thing and sometimes that includes finding an area and just killing things for their loot…

I now feel like I have to do things like recording interactions with other players – join groups, talk in guild chat just to make sure…

I love how they try to veer off the fact that there is no “auto banning” and that each suspected infraction is reviewed before banned/suspended.

so someone is a bit trigger happy and banning everyone or is there some ANetbot that has just got it wrong?

I don’t mind being falsely accused and reinstated but to just take us for idiots…?!

Oh, the emotion, the feeling. Truly breathtaking. I was blown away by the sheer impact this piece brought on me. Jormag is fearing away those poor people, yet the underlying message beneath this incredible piece of art cuts me deeper than a hot knife through butter. Sure they may have failed at that instant. But they tried. It wasn’t one, it was many. All unified and inspired by the belief that by working together, individuals make a very large impact. Yes, they may be running away, and one of them may be down, but they went there from the start with no fears, and they will surely go back again trying. (is crying hysterically) This magnificent piece of art is a 10/10

One thing that got me was that I forgot to select the type of card – ie by clicking on the picture of Visa/Mastercard for example…

Regarding the support account and serial code – I had my serial code emailed to me when I purchased GW2 – it had the subject: Thank you for pre-purchasing Guild Wars 2!

Should be in your email unless you delete old mail….

And for the soulbound items you could consider salvaging them vs selling them ….

My question is where are these scammers getting email addresses from? How are they targeting actual GW2 players and being so accurate? I mean there’s been A LOT of people complaining about this recently….

Not trolling at all…thought this was a valid question…

I don’t have PvP armor and it’s only on my PVE armor..

Ok I’m confused – and I’ve tried to find an answer in the wiki etc. (I’m a guardian)

Regarding Superior Rune of the Guardian:

I added 6 runes to my armor but it seems to think I already have them added ie when I wear all 6 pieces of armor with a Superior Rune of the Guardian it says (12/6).

My guess is that Guardian as a profession already has these benefits inherited?

Am I right in guessing I don’t get any additional benefits from using these Runes and better off using something else?
