Yeah, well if you expect us to play without stealth then you are pretty much telling us to up our game while making it easy for everyone else.

As the Thief is now you probably shouldn’t play without stealth – it’s drastically ingrained into the class’s design for both offense and defense. The point of the thread is that such a class is broken by design.

The reason Thieves have poor health is because anything else combined with stealth would be even more hilariously broken. It’s also the dilemma with stealth classes – invisibility is so powerful that balancing the class is a stupidly complex dance.

I don’t even know what to say about “slightly above average damage” or “every other class is zerker”. It’s true that you have a low health value – but that’s why you have more abilities with evasion frames and easy access to invisibility. I don’t have much of a problem surviving for extended periods time in battle thanks to stealth.

What I am saying is that bad thieves really do need stealth because without such a powerful mechanic they’d actually have to learn how to play the class and respond to an opponent’s actions instead of always choosing the pace of the engagement. That’s why they need to make fun of those threads and put down stealth detractors. It’s a threat to their “Elite Ninja Skills” that, deep down, their performance hinges on a completely one sided mechanic. IE. Roguecraft syndrome.

You hit nail on the head my friend. Or was it the nail in the coffen of this thread? Bad thieves make me feel bad for the image they impose on good thieves.

I’d love to see scepter lose the clone regeneration and get some condition love. Hell some direct damage stability with a faster animation/flight time. Here’s to wishful thinking.

As for people making snide remarks, enough already with where is HoD crap. The fighters that show up and try are not deserving of your flippant dismissals since it’s obvious we are lacking bodies for map coverage.

I think most of the “where’s HoD?” comments/attitudes comes from the (possibly unfounded) perception that you did have those numbers during the first two weeks of the match-up..whereas this week you have been a relative ghost town.

So it’s not a comment on your overall status/population/capability.. it’s genuine puzzlement as to where did all those players we’ve been seeing for weeks suddenly disappear to?

The problem isn’t necissarily “where’s HoD”, Khursun clearly has an issue with a person calling HoD “useless”, which is pretty harsh. Server activity goes up, server activity goes down. I’m guessing with a largish guild leaving alongside the beatdown going on, a lot on HoD feel pretty darn low morale. Calling HoD “useless” fora down week, that’s probably less classy than corpsedancing.

My problem is the where is HoD comments of the last few days; being called useless was just the cherry on top as I fight beside the same dedicated people every night and just feel they deserve some respect is all.

That guild leaving will be good for morale as it was like being in junior high on map chat in times talking about WvW….in LA. less talk moar walk, especially with such a large guild that could place more bodies where they could have made difference.

Now keep in mind that I don’t get to play all day or night(called work). However I’d like to comment to the “where is hod” bullkitten. When I log on to roam around, no matter what waypoint I go too, there are maybe handfuls of hod pinned on respawn steps. Also when I notice some hod actually taking something is funny to count how many seconds it is before massive numbers swarm that area.

As for hod always hitting nsp boarders, why not? I personally hate to roam the home boarders, but I mean everytime I finally get talked into going I see tons of nsp presence.

All and all I think with the massive drop in numbers and the fact I see nsp stop everything they are doing to attack anything red is probably beating the life out of the guilds and the commanders having to deal with all the QQ about losing(in general or by numbers). Ether way its not fair to constantly complain about hod not “doing more” when at any point I’ve ever seen hod try and push on SF, ns kitten o far up hods kitten they can kiss their hearts.

SF moves up or hod moves down, who has more points who has less. Maybe hods problem is players like me and mine who would rather go out and find people to fight and don’t worry about points or objectives at a point in time that we can’t blob mo’harder.

Reguardless still hod roaming around putting poles in holes from what I see, points be kitten.

Been on HoD for over a month now….Run a group just about 5/6 nights a week. Yet to see a [VLK] small man running around let alone “smokin” people.

Heard they are pretty kitten efficient at reporting people tho….kinda like that guy that calls the cops on the party.

Insane rumor going around and i hope it’s not true i mean HoD is already OP enough as it is being that 1 of them can take on 3 of any NSP and SF players but is it true that XOXO and KING’s leaders r planning on moving their guilds to HoD cause that is utter nonsense if it is so keep an eye out on the rankings if HoD suddenly hits tier 1 again >>

ATTENTION PVP’ers!

VLK is hosting its first official fight club for this week!

What is a Fight Club? Why would I attend this?

Fight Club is a separate controlled event inside of WvW that focuses more on small team and individual PvP duels, rather than point capping. It is a friendly competitive environment with rules and structure set up by the hosts. Typical Fight Clubs are dueling environments set up in 1v1, 2v2, 3v3 or 5v5 matches.

Big deal, why would I bother?

Fight Clubs provide PvP’ers with the ability to show off their skills outside of “zerging.” It allows people to not only show what they know, but learn from the other competitors. Fight Clubs also provide fantastic opportunities to develop small team tactics, and coordination valuable inside of a WvW environment. Last but not least, it allows you to remain in the fight for extended amounts of time, without having to run around looking for PvP.

Rules:
1. No stomping. The exception to this rule is 2v2, 3v3 and 5v5 matches.
2. Must stay in the arena. Competitors who step outside of the arenas borders will be disqualified.
3. Be respectful. This is a friendly competition, keep that in mind.

We are very excited to see what many of you have to offer, so come on out and represent your servers! Bring your best buds you like to play with and come on out for some friendly PvP fun!

Problem I see the most is the 100g false sense of authority and ego boost. IMHO good commanders are defined by their guild group that accompany them. You ever see a commander with [blank] and not many [blank] around him in coordination then you’re best off looking for one that does. WvW requires teamwork, a commander as a individual means nothing.

The “buy a commander tag” system is a flaw.

I need to find a way to not need sleep, or work.

Personally I have played many games of all types(we all have). However its just that it’s a game you know? For fun, I have no problem with people who wanna RP or do whatever it is they like to do. I personally don’t care to have a “lore” name and I shouldn’t be required to. I mean if there was a RP server similar to how other games have done then yes, absolutely I think the names should matter.

Why is it the name Snatch is a very thief themed name, but a small few go straight to other meaning. I wont admit that it as any reference to anything other then what the word means. I played a character named Bag Snatch in GW1. I couldn’t even get the name Snatch without something behind ether because it is already taken by another player.

Oddly enough i doubt they are suffering from a 3 day suspension last week into a 7 say suspension now. 1/3 of the month of march.

It just gets moral crushing when you spend a lot of time in WvW(I’m a PvPer) just to keep catching suspension for something I don’t really feel I am in violation of. I wont pretend that I make or break my servers success but absolutely I play my part. For the record my thief has been 80 for months, but only now do I get this constant harassment.

It almost feels like I’m being told by Arena Net to move on to another game. When sadly I have up till now done nothing but support it.

It’s just a name and it is a name that isn’t in violation of anything, and does not lessen or ruin the enjoyment of other players.

I think adding a T is a bit of a reach, as I didn’t intend that. I just came off a violation suspension and changed me name. I was going with Snatch Null or Snatch Nuffins but instead gained the middle ground.

I am assuming it was over the word Snatch, but as you pointed out its meaning.

I’m just somewhat frustrated with the constant suspensions.

Ok, this is getting somewhat old.

Again I log into game and find myself suspended. Now for 161 hours.

My thief is name Snatch Nus.

Can someone please tell me what I’m missing?
