Where’s the half naked norn?
Now that’s the quickest “OMG the server is hacking” post I have seen.

Oh this should be an entertaining match

(2) there probably is a slightly greater chance that one could be caught in a sweep
So in essence, what you are saying is your support team are not doing their jobs correctly? Even though YOU and other moderators have specifically said each case is investigated individually?
There’s no possible way my account was “investigated” before banning. If they would have investigated they would realize I am too dumb to know how to bot.

It seems like I was a part of a zone sweep. I’ve reported no less than 40 obvious bots. Sent in numerous emails to report bots with screen shots and then suddenly I come home from work early to play and what do I see? That I’ve been banned for being a bot…
I enjoy playing this game still, as does most of my guild. The main reason we play is for the WvW, because we have always enjoyed going out as a group and fighting other groups. What boggles my mind about the WvW matchups is how can FA get absolutely destroyed last week and then this week give Mag and DB a beat down? Tarnished Coast, a roleplay server, was spawn camping us at the end of the week.
Did we have people on vacation last week or something?
Believe me I understand that there are more ways to get out of the point than the main entry. In a short while I will be roaming with my guild to flip all of your fully upgraded towers and depots. I think what bothers me the most is the kittens that are inside the spawn area killing vendors.
I used to think TC had class. They’re winning the weekend for sure but setting up trebs to hit the zone in lacks any type of class.
8 of us wiped you off the roof of the Vista, not 40. We did set up a cat that ended up being too far away because I thought it would be a fun thing to make you guys going flying off the roof.
8 not 40.
I wish you all the best but PD has moved to Fort Aspenwood. Two of our oldest and most trusted allies (dating back to UO days) play there and we felt it was a better fit to our play style.
We heard you guys were building golems down there so we took about 20 in to kill them. We thought this was nefarious plot to take our orb (that was hacked about 2 minutes later by persons unknown). Instead of an army massing for attack we found this…
Oh and we wiped, good defense.
I’ve been playing PVP and RVR for a really long time. What I see on Darkhaven is the classic example of people who only come out to play when the team is winning. I don’t know if it is better on other servers but seeing a queue to get into borderlands this week when we had a skeleton crew last week is sickening. As for our night crew, brag when you can do it against a group like SoR or Yak’s Bend. During our match with Yak’s Bend, we would get on and battle during prime time only to find everything gone in the morning. When SoR started fighting back against the night crew, we got rolfstomped.
Calling people “nubs” because they can’t mount an offensive is just plain stupid. A “nub” is someone who is new or inexperienced at the game, not someone who is trying to fight through overwhelming odds. At least they’re still out in the field fighting. Let me see the half-naked norn fight an even numbered group and live to tell about it, then you can talk.
Rule #1 in battle – respect your opponent.
I turn the “zerg-o-matic” off when I am doing a small group mission because I don’t want 10,000 people following me when I am going to take a supply depot and come back.
Regarding the FC orb, Caliburn is telling it like it is. I was standing on the N gate ready to receive and clear it of enemies. None came. The timer clicked down to 10 minutes to reset before they got the orb home.
Last night was entertaining. I am concerned that if it stays this way it could be a boring week. I would rather AR and FC bring the pain than lay down in a fetal position. Laying down will make our guys soft and complacent.

SoR is crushing and will win.
DeeJayTC: Yes, that’s how we do the matchups.
Sir William PD: The cycle ends at 23:59 UTC today (Friday)
Ah that pesky old time zone thing!
Thanks for the clarification.
I am Thoryn and yeah it was a great moment. One of my players says in mumble “Inc from behind” as we were holding the bridge from SoR. I turn and see SF swarming in through the hole and going after our siege.
It was a “wtf” moment for sure. SF…clear the people off the field before you swarm the wall and hit our trebs.
I didn’t know you could see enemy commanders, it would sure help me with my targeting in the future!
If someone can see the icon, I need to turn mine off!
one of those has a commander icon he puts on a few screenshots later if that helps figuring out who that is for you.
How can an enemy realm see a CMDR icon?
With your eyeballs i suppose.
Very insightful. Thanks for being so helpful.
SoR shouldn’t fall, they are crushing DH and SF.
This current cycle should end 10/5 (today) right? Or do the matches reset on Saturday now?

SoR you’re poor sports! We just challenged you to a dance off in front of Redbriar and got shot at!
As the guild leader of an active WvW Darkhaven guild I can tell you the reason PD wasn’t in the fight yesterday was because my two kids had baseball games last night and I didn’t get home until late.
Simply put, we don’t care about the score. We don’t care about the hackers or exploiters. We’ll be out there tonight and we’ll give you hell while we are there. SoR has played a great round and they deserve credit. If DH players are giving up because of the score, they have no heart.
There are things you can control and things you cannot. As the leader of PD, I can control the actions of my guild and my guild only. I can directly influence the score of the WvW match in the zone I am in and in the time I am in the game.
I cannot control hackers, dumb CMDRs, zergs, exploits or the score before and after I leave the field. If I worry about the total score of the match or what someone will do after I log for the evening I will drive myself crazy. In Shadowbane, I could directly influence the game community 24/7 because of the game dynamics. This game is not designed that way and unless I turn back the clock to when I was single and 25, I won’t be able to play enough hours to have that kind of an impact.
Short version, play to the best of your ability while you are on and don’t sweat the things you can’t control. I can guarantee you that six months from now no one will look back and say “man, remember that time that SoR beat DH and SF by 100k points back in October?”
I’m hesitant to write a long reply again because if it gets deleted I might just get mad.
The summary of my previous post is this:
Players will come and go. Guilds will come and go. If you focus on the things that you can control and don’t worry about those you cannot, you’ll find a much happier gaming environment. PD can sustain 3 – 4 groups of quality players one weekends and 2 – 3 groups during the evening on the weekdays. When I am on, I will gladly help direct things for those who want to follow. If no one wants to follow then PD will do what we can to negatively impact the ability of the enemy to make war.
Having a CMDR book does not make you a leader it simply gives you visibility so people can find you. If you’re a guild leader and people follow you then you’re already a leader and worthy of the respect that title grants you. I will work with any guild leader that is willing to work together.

See if this one stays…
Though I have to say some guilds and guild leaders need to be called out.
I love seeing the argument against “night capping”. Is there some kind of gentleman’s agreement I didn’t see in the TOS? I can remember with vivid horror at a Thanksgiving weekend raid in the old DAOC days when Midgard blasted our defenses in the middle of the night and took our relics (PRX was involved I think). I can recall defending our walls in Shadowbane for 8 straight hours until 5am when we all passed out. It’s part of the game, hell it’s part of gaming in general. Get over it.
In war, only a foolish commander attacks when the odds are not in his favor. During the day we do our best to defend what we have and do small strategic strikes aimed at cutting your supply lines and slowing your defense build up. At night we take what we can because we have some active players at night and a good battlefield commander. Just as you can argue we zerg at night we, the day time and prime time crew, can argue we are outnumbered and double teamed when we’re on.
The DH guilds are starting to work better together. The whiners are transferring to other servers and people are starting to pay attention more. That is the root of your problem people. Pretty soon you’ll have a Half Naked Norn during the day time as well. Then you can kitten about that too.
I purchased the commander book to get my guild into larger groups. What I didn’t expect is for every newb in the zone to come running to me. I was in voice chat with three guilds, calling out direction movements for an orb attempt and I get some idiot standing next to me calling me a noob for not “helping the server” because I was standing on a hilltop and not leading the zerg.
There should be at least a disclaimer on the book that says “warning: noob magnet”
It’s not night time now is it?
It’s been a fun week. A lot better than the pounding we took from Yak’s Bend.
No screen shot but the current score of Sorrow’s Furnace/Darkhaven/Sanctum of Rall
SF 179567 +240,
DH 174104 +215,
SoR 164504 +245

Well it’s a proven communication method that if you type cuss words in all CAPS that people listen…right?
As a guild leader on Darkhaven, I encourage you to do this next week. Say, starting Friday evening for example.
Thanks!

Outstanding post(s).
Do you have any evidence?
Sorry I missed the meeting last night. PD will be in WvW all weekend.
Edit: not worth getting involved in a e peen match. Call yourself whatever makes you feel better about yourself.
(edited by Sir William PD.9615)
11pm Pacific? That’s kinda late isn’t it? I’ll try to make it. If I can’t be there someone from PD will be.
Nice vids Ethersin but I think I am going to have to ask you to quantify the self appointed title of “Top WvW guild in Darkhaven”. Having a commander and spending a bunch of cash on golems doesn’t quite make you the top WvW guild.

I didn’t miss any part. It sounds to me like you either need to get your big boy pants on or transfer servers. In 15 years the Purple Dragons have never run from a fight or cared about the scoreboard until the final whistle blows. During prime time hours Darkhaven not only takes back our territory, we push Yaks back to the hell they came from. If they’re camping the spawn you have three options; go around them, crush them or whine and log off.
I’d like to address a few of these posts.
1. TheFreshBrew.1958 – You go left, you go right you go home. What you don’t do is go one by one into the cannon fire. If you’re not that guy, then this obviously isn’t for you. We took 10 PD and went right, avoided the treb and catapult fire and went straight to Golanta. We took it and then went up and hit Klovan enough to cause Yaks to shift defense to there. We then moved down to Jerrifer and took it, placed two trebs up on the hill and killed the trebs in Lowlands. All the while I was spamming in /team and /map for people to get off the killing fields and into the fight. If you look at the map you can see there are two paths leading out of the Hill and around the killing fields. Take one of those if there are dead cows and big rocks landing on the stairs.
2. Coordination between AR and DH, while good in theory is nearly impossible. Last night, we were in Darkhaven Borderlands trying to get back the orb. We were actually applauding AR for getting theirs back and suddenly two of our supply depots turned red. It’s certainly possible to coordinate but not without server forums.
3. @MVP – PD will take you up on your challenge any day as long as you leave that mesmer we fought up near Speldan’s home. I’ve had enough of that guy. I will give you credit though, you all fight hard and don’t back down. /salute
4. To the rest of Darkhaven – don’t lose faith. This is the first draw and we happened to get matched with a group that has a heavy oceanic pop. Our next match might be a better fit. This is a one week period of your gaming life. I can guarantee that when you’re old and grey like me you won’t remember that one time when Yak’s Bend took it to us for a weekly WvW match. Learn what you can in the borderlands, fight as long and as hard as you can. Take what you learn now to the next fight. Because there will always be a next fight.
I don’t see any issue with AR and DH ganging up on Yaks. Hell Yaks is so far ahead it won’t matter anyway. The issue here is that there is currently no way to really coordinate that. There are no server forums.
Or…go around them.
I’ve never gotten a 14k crit on kill shot, I must be doing it wrong! I have to say that Plague’s post was excellent and right on.
How about a rope with a hook?

How do they get 50 people to stand in one spot? I can’t even get 50 people to go to a general location on the map…
Oh come on, it’s a 3 way battle. We fought a major battle against AR in the dredge tunnels as they were coming in behind Wildcreek. That tower happened to be the tower we were trebbing Stonemist from. It goes both ways. If you want DH to stop hitting AR then AR needs to stop hitting DH.
If you want to focus on Yaks, I am all for it. I can only guarantee the actions of PD though, there are just too many unorganized zerglings on both side right now.
It’s the first weekly match-up. We just happened to get a match with a server that has a heavy overnight pop. I shared everyone’s surprise on Saturday morning when I saw Yak’s had taken everything. We got 15 PD on and started taking supplies back, then Jerrifer’s. All the while zerglings were getting farmed in front of our spawn. I even saw one moron say he couldn’t get anywhere because he was getting spawn camped. Somehow, I was able to take a group of 15 players and shockingly avoid getting camped. Oh…it was because we turned right instead of going straight.
I think this early beat down is good for us because it’s spurring guild leaders like Lurko and others to realize we need to work together. If a group of guilds can organize and start working together, the zerglings will just be a distraction while we move together and take objectives.
