CD was always more like the S.S. Minnow than the Titanic.

We’ve been in Tier 3 for so long they should rename it to Tier Aspenwood.

We’re Fort Aspenwood. We have issues with anyone who comes into our house, kicks down the door and gets mud all over the clean carpet. CD did just that the past two weeks. We’ve always been a confident group that was OK with our role as the underpowered staging point for servers to shoot on up into Tier 2. When these IoJ guilds came over, it just made us stronger and more confident. Now it’s our turn to step on someone on the way up and CD, you just happened to already be on “the list”.

Great job by CD tonight! If I knew that Bob the Builder and Fixit Felix were on duty in Bay I think I would have gone elsewhere.

The bad blood with CD goes back to a dolyak parade. Yes, really. Some individuals decided to have a roleplaying event wherein they designated a dolyak as nearing retirement. During the parade, they (as well as the dolyak) were randomly killed by some FA players. In retaliation, Tarnished Coast and Crystal Desert spent the rest of the reset openly double teaming FA.

This is entirely wrong. Actually, the dolyak was not nearing retirement. There was no ‘role-playing’ involved in the sense where we were NOT pretending we were real yaks, or battle hardened escorts, or whatever. We just wanted to walk with it around the map, explode fireworks, then have a massive brawl. Also, the Dolyak and one escort survived and went all the way to its final destination.

One TC guild decided to camp FA – it just happened to be PiNK which is a very large guild. They had a commander and many members in the yak parade. In fact, in the screencaps from TC’s end, there were 6 commanders in the parade that I could see. And after they took the entire FA map, they came and took the entire CD map as well. My guild leader actually yelled at me for causing armageddon because they kept wiping all the maps during their primetime for several days afterward.

Let’s not forget it was PD and BT that killed your dolyak parade and the only reason the non-player dolyak survived to reach Bay was because it was our dolyak.

If I see another ’yak parade I will kill it as well.

I’m a WvW regular everyday with my guildmates and we’ve been fighting FA for so long but I never heard or even remember the two mentioned tags there.. or is it not memorable enough?

Yes, because after you created the chaos, you ran from the map. Apparently nobody’s seen you guys on FABL all night.

I created the chaos. Why would we be in FABL when the fight was in CDBL? You’re making no sense. You had your silly parade in CDBL, where we had a planned event. There were several guilds there coordinating and rocking the west side. What makes this whole “CD and TC are going to double team you” announcement funny is you were doing it anyway! We were being hit by CD at the NW gate of AB while TC was laying siege to Briar. Any time I am in FABL, TC is running up our west side while CD is running the east. When we are in CDBL where do we find TC? All up in our business.

I’m not bragging about killing a bunch of clowns posing as Dolyaks walking across a bridge. I am not angry about it either. I am amused at the sudden outrage and new determination from TC that they’re gonna make me pay in some way for this. There were red names acting foolishly in the area we were fighting so we killed some. Before you decide to hold some peace walk on a hostile field of battle, you might want to make sure all parties agree. I know for a fact GODS doesn’t speak for PD.

We log on, we fight, we log off, we go to sleep. There is absolutely no way that any player from TC, or any other server, is going to affect my day in a negative fashion. You simply don’t have that ability. I’ll still be here tomorrow, leading my Purple Dragons into battle with you.

Let me just clear up some of the misinformation.

1. We were aware you were doing this at about 7pm EST. I was quite clear with the FA rep that PD would not be participating and if we were in the area we would be killing any red named person in our way.

2. At the time of your ‘gathering’, we wanted the southern supply camp and killed whomever we could to gain that objective.

3. 15 minutes prior to your parade hitting the ruins, we had just cleared 20 TC with siege off the island and had set up our own ballistas.

4. It was really fun to shoot you all and get loot.

5. When Online messaged me to ask me to stop, we did and I even escorted the remaining dolyak and eagle to briar, saluted and went on about my business.

I honestly don’t give a single kitten if TC and CD want to team up on FA. I really, really don’t.

I posted on the suggestion forums changes I would like to see with the moderation system. I was very polite, didn’t point out any specific case, just detailed suggestions on why things are not working out for us, the community, and how it could be improved. It was deleted.

Awesome fight at Green Lake tonight.

I was there. I was hoping to add to the pressure being put on FA. For hours we fought for the tower at Green Lake, not sure we ever got it. Epic.

Not on my watch you didn’t. I logged off at 10:30 CST and we still held it. We considered letting it fall about then because the tower bugged out during the big fight. When you guys had both walls down and the door open, the worker died in the wall. Once we drove you out and repaired the wall, the worker was dead in the wall and we couldn’t upgrade it.

Cogbyrn I would answer with something about how this is one of the most amusing posts I have read today. Each time I write a complimenting post like that with no text about the current matchup, it gets removed and I receive an infraction. I believe I am up to 6 infractions now (might be more). The same things also happens when I use some kind of snide remark. So…

Great match up this week, I hope we see TC and YB again sometime! Awesome fight out at (insert keep/tower here) on (whatever day/night you want). Every time we are fighting (insert either YB or TC here) it seems like (whatever server you didn’t mention before) show up and are working together!

Personally I won’t be going to TC. From what I understand, it’s the role play server, and that’s not my style.

Some clarifications to this:

You can play on TC for a month long, each day, PVE and WvW, and don’t meet a single actual roleplayer. It happened.

You can meet some roleplayers on TC, and they won’t be forcing you to roleplay with them. In fact, they would most probably ignore you even if you tried (RPers are generally used to everyone making fun of them, so they just shut out the outside world and filter out anyone not from their group).

Finally, there is virtually no RP in TC’s WvW apart from one particular higher-profile guild (that I know of), and even that from my experience generally boils down to occasionally shouting “For Ascalon!” during battles.

This kind of bums me out Spaceman. I was always picturing /map on TC with a bunch of “Hail!”, “What Ho!” and other such things. I like to picture after I’ve downed a player he says “I hath been mortally wounded!”

There are a lot of people who simply don’t understand the dynamics of world vs world. I find it frustrating as well and my replies to some of the questions really depends on my mood at the moment. If I have just been rolled by a group of PINK for the 9th time of the evening, I will probably be a bit terse.

We do need to reach out to the puggers, or small guilds though and teach them to be an asset and not just someone who is making a good player wait in the queue.

@Urrid – funny story is that Tarnished Coast was the first server we looked at on release until someone told us it was a RP server. There’s always been a stigma around RP servers that they are like LARPers but only in game. I have to say that the TC group hkittentered that image for me. You folks can bring the pain and I for one salute you.

As for GODS, anytime you mass recruit like they did, there comes a point when you reach critical mass and have to purge the bad eggs you have. Switching servers is a bit extreme but it’s within the mechanics of the game to do so. All joking aside, I have never been a fan of theirs but Derv and I have spoken on more than one occasion and I find him to be a good person and had hoped to work more with him and his group in the future. Running a guild of 600+ people or whatever it was they were boasting is too much work for anyone. I can’t even fathom the amount of stress, drama and bs he had to deal with. Good luck on TC, we’ll be gunning for you on the field.

Great defense on Hills last night in the FA BL. We had the outer gates down several times and I really thought we had succeeded when we managed to get two trebs up on the outer walls and get your treb down, but you guys just kept pushing at us… great job FA! Well fought!

It was a total team effort between 4 Commanders and several guilds. You guys hit us with every tactic possible and were on the inner door more times than I can count. Probably one of the most entertaining sieges I have been a part of since defending our city in Shadowbane for 7 straight hours under bane.

TC, I hope you’re ready for the awesome might of GODS to join your side! You will now witness the power of Commanders sitting at the steps of the borderland, spamming recruitment messages about how awesome and big GODS is while you’re under siege and need help. I think it’s a disservice to the fine folks of TC to have a zerg “open-recruitment” guild join them. TC is a good server with strong leadership and sound tactics. GODS just thins out the gene pool.

From my perspective it’s more of a coordination issue than a population issue. Well timed tactics and clearly defined goals will trump a zerg every time. If you don’t have enough people to fight the zerg, stay away from it. Last night I took PD and KGB into TC borderlands with the goal of taking Bluevale, Bluebriar and knocking a hole into Dreaming Bay so we could take some pressure off of the other borderlands. We played from 6pm CST until 10pm CST and we accomplished our goals. BT came in at the end and helped us take Dreaming Bay. It was with guild coordination that we accomplished it, not whining about double teaming or buckling under pressure.

I am on every night at about the same time and will work with any guild that is willing to put egos aside and work towards a common goal. Sometimes the small victories will make a huge difference in the war.

Sometimes it may seem like two are “ganging up” on one but I wouldn’t put money on it. It’s most likely that two parties have, for a short time, a common goal. An example is this weekend, TC had just golem rushed us at a keep. My group of 15 decided to go roaming and ran across the golems getting ready to hit Briar, that Yaks Bend was defending. We hit the golems, not because we wanted to help YB but because we wanted to kill TC. So while it would look like we were helping YB, we weren’t and of course the TC golems ported out to somewhere else as we started to hit them and YB poured over the walls and killed us. So while it looks like YB was helping TC against us, they just saw a group of FA and wanted to kill us.

As a Guild Leader and Commander in FA, I can honestly say I have never been asked to collaborate with another server. So unless there are secret meetings I am not invited to there are no server wide alliances in this matchup.

Best match ever. All three factions are fighting hard and TC is taking us to the woodshed right now. Nothing will be given away during this match. Every inch of territory is being fought for.

Great fun tonight in TC BL. You finally got us out of our little corner.

Over the past two days I have to say, Darkhaven is bringing some serious pain in the prime time hours. GoF, RE, SE, WE, ABC and others have done a great job defending and countering us. I especially like that some of the players zone hop to keep us guessing. THIS is the Darkhaven I expected to see from the start.

Hey Littlefeather, thanks for your service. I chose to spend my time in the U.S. Air Force. Who you follow and what you do with your time is your business and was never the point or topic I was discussing. I know no one is talking about me and I am fine with that, I’ve had my day in the sun. This part of the conversation started when Kami replied to my post about being disappointed in the performance of DH this match. I was not mocking or patronizing the DH server as I have a lot of respect for a lot of the people on that server. I am honestly disappointed with the turnout you all have had and wish more of the DH population would come out to play.

…as for Ethersin, I just don’t like the guy. My first impression of him was bad and all following meetings I had with the man were bad. There’s a certain level of respect that you show to other guild leaders and I never got the impression that he respected anyone of the same stature of another organization.

At first, I thought maybe it was just PD and myself that he had disdain for. As it turns out a lot of guild leaders on that server don’t like the guy. There’s just a level of arrogance with your leadership that is counter productive to working with other guilds.

Finnaly I could get some rest tonight. I think DH might get slightly weaker, due to atleast 1 guild moving to a different server, and the Naked Norn seems MIA atm too.

With all of the guilds leaving DH, Ethersin can finally live up to “Darkhaven’s #1 WVW Guild” he has in his sig. I am certain that once everyone else leaves the server RE will finally be #1.

As a former DH Commander, I can honestly say I am VERY disappointed in this week. I was hoping to do some battle with old friends and see the Half Naked Norn out in the field. I know DH has more fight than this.
