Hey erryone!

As I entered Scarlets Secret Lair and was amazed at all the stuff they just threw at us there, I looked at everything in detail. Most people here already talked more than enough on most aspects. Although one little thing looked interesting to me, it probably doesn’t mean anything, but I thought I might share nonetheless.

So, there is this drawing of all the alliances she wanted to do. What I found interesting is that Largos, Kodan, and Tengu were all connected. Those were also the Races most wanted as playable and most probable as playable. I think maybe it may be a subtle joke at those threads, or maybe even something more, but I doubt that.

What do you think?

Soo, I went ahead and bought them. I must say it’s quite convenient having infinite usage mining tools.
The only thing that bugs me is that I have to switch them between my characters to use them, and that’s a bit of an annoyance. Maybe they could make it so that you were them account wide and there’s no need to transfer them to another character.

So, with these awesome sales, I was wondering which of these two Items I should get:
The Infinite Mining Tools package (which is 30€, c’mon anet fix dem gem prices), or the Total Makeover Kit for all of my currently 5 characters to get myself some limited looks?

The Makeover Kits would obviously be cheaper, but the Infinite Mining Tools are
1. Limited
2. Premium
3. Convenient
4. Accountbound
but expensive!

The thing is, even though the armor is limited, those that do look good look awesome
And I really can’t think of any other race to go for Ele, Guardian has quite a few interesting alternatives. I hope that maybe they’ll slowly fix the armor sets, but I can’t predict that.

Hmm, yeah it’s generally just very difficult to find good looking light armor. I don’t know if I want to pidgeonhole myself into one or two sets, let alone the rage I will have if I don’t like my Charr Elementalist later on. My counter argument would be that heavy armor also has a few problems and that I really would like the Flame Legion role playing aspect of the Elementalist.

Hey members of the Legions!

I currently have a Sylvari Thief and I want to make a Guardian as my Heavy Profession and an Elementalist as my Light Profession, covering all armor classes and order quests with it. However, I am struggling to find fitting races for these professions.

I could go Charr on the Elementalist, and I really would like to, making him all Flame Legion and stuff sure could be fun.
However I fear that light armor just looks bad on Charr, and some weapons wouldn’t look good on them (Dagger and Staff!!! look awesome though), like future additions of swords or greatswords for this class or the existing scepter.

Alternatively I could go Charr Guardian, because you have a few more options on the heavy side.

I really hope you cat-people can help me out join you folks!

You should contact the support and report it to them, showing them the video. If possible, also report the person in-game. A-net should be able to see if he was using third-party programs by checking his logs.

Seems like a lot of thieves like the necro. I personally like all three of the scholar classes. I just can’t really get into the soldier ones, you know, when your mains are elementalist and thief you kinda struggle to play a warrior or a guardian.

I wondered what other professions you like most beside the thief? Which ones are the most refreshing to you but are still as fun as the thief? Basically, what is your favorite alt and why?

I am looking for a guild for my lvl 17 Elementalist which I’m doing map completion on currently. I want to play every type of content on him, Living Story, WvWvW, sPvP, tPvP, PvE, Dungeons, Fractals , yeah everything.

What I’m looking for is a guild that doesn’t have to be casual, but has a good atmosphere (no dead guild chat, eww) and nice players.

So, I see the Scythe and the Pick back in the store and I’m like: “yeah, buy that kitten”.
And what do I see? 1000 GEMS each. Okay they are now account bound. That’s fine for all the people wo have 30 character slots and like all the combinations.
But I only have one character and one main where everything is on. Couldn’t you have left the soulbound alternative there?
Or has it something to do with it’s too difficult to make two versions of the item? (Which it can’t be, it would technically be two different items).
I really want these, but I don’t want to pay 20€ for two harvesting items, I can buy a freaking game with that money.

Yeah, I like that one the most too. Went with the face from the black and red pic as well and I really like it.
Now I’m exploring everything with him and can’t wait to collect skins and dyes and make awesome combinations and try out new faces and hairstyles yaaay!

I really like the idea and the look of a more subtle style, but I think I’ve decided on a more flashy, elements representing style.

Hmm, I tried making the pattern white, it kinda contradicts with the whole setup and I did not quite like it.

So my final try is this one, I decided on a new skin tone because the other one did not really represent earth. The hair again represents air, I like white hair. The blue pattern just looks nice on brown to me I like it. And the orange glow is for fire, together with the eyes. I took the orange glow because I want the glow on the cultural to be orange (wanna do a mix with the hellfire set later on hehe).

What I would reallyyy love to do though is something like the last pic of gamemaster: I always wanted to make a black Sylvari with red glow, looks sooo awesome. It’s just that I fear that might look more thievish and wouldn’t go with all the armor and dye combinations I want to do (incase they would be brighter colours).

Here’s another combination I tried with the autumn theme, really like the glow on this one:

Hmm, It appears to be a bug with the second last body type from the left. The muscular one. It causes the shoulders to be of Norn scaling ATLEAST. Hope Anet reads this or just fixes it generally, I really want those skins.

Yeah I actually agree on the gloves, they do look cool and can stay that size.

But the shoulders? NO. They are waaay to big. Bigger than on a Charr, or kitten even on a Norn. That has to be a bug because they could never be serious with that.

So I read about new armor getting into the gem shop and I logged in on my Sylvari and tried it out via preview. Guess what:

The shoulder and gloves are RIDICULOUSLY huge on him. It’s not even fun anymore. I really want those skins but I’m not buying them as long as they are on steroids. ANet, pls, pls fix this.

Those are some nice suggestions you have. I think I’ll play around in character creation a bit and see which combination I like best. Thank you guys again for suggestions, and if you still have any you can of course still post ’em!

EDIT: Tried something else out, how do you like it? I already tried the autumn hair and pattern, I don’t quite like that, I like how this is lighter and less aggressive in color. Though I kinda miss the fire, except for the glow which you won’t always see.

Hmm, I tried to represent all 4 Elements in this.
Skin color for earth,
Glow for water,
Eyes for fire,
Hair for air.

What would you say about it? Anything I could change to make it better? Would it go with most combinations of armor in endgame?

Hello fellow Sylvari!

I wanted to create an Elementalist as my main and I would need your help with his design. I would like it to be neutral, because I plan to have lots of different looking sets end game for different builds and stuff. Make sets themed by the elemental attunements and stuff. Really looking forward to it. Now, to be able to do that, I’d like to have a neutral looking Sylvari that can go with many different looks.

So: Which colour schemes would you recommend for this?
(Could you recommend any hairstyles and faces based on your opinions?)

Was trying out some classes in game and narrowed it down to mainly 2 classes:

-Engineer
-Necromancer
-(Elementalist/Mesmer)

Now, my playstyle would largely be control – I want to make the enemy do what I want them to. I don’t want to just mindlessly go through rotations or focus on 5 skills or so. Now, the Engineer was fun and fits my playstyle kinda well (although I don’t like the Jack-of-all-trades mentality). But I can’t immerse with my Engineer.

But I want magic.

I really want to immerse with a Necromancer. I love their theme, their aesthetics and the Idea behind them and I love death and stuff.
After that comes the Elementalist. I kinda like the Elements theme less and the Staff isn’t my thing (Necro staff sucks as well :<), but their playstyle is more similar to the Engineer.

The playstyle does not have to be active though, it should have it’s depth and variety, but it should definitely be able to control enemies, I love that kitten.

I remember doing that Order quest with the Centaurs and if I recall correctly, when I met with the centaurs they referred to me as “Nature Spirit” or something like that, they kinda treated me different because I was Sylvari, not with immediate hate like they would a Human. So even if the Centaurs don’t really like the Sylvari, they think of the Sylvari as some kind of mythological creatures or spirits in their beliefs. I don’t think the Sylvari have to think anything of them just because Ventari was the pacifistic exception of a Centaur.

I just bought Guild Wars 2 as it was on sale. Now I want to create my first character and am struggling with the profession selection. I already tried all of them out on my brothers account, but I still can’t decide:

Necromancer:
+Aesthetics
+Condition Gameplay
+Tankiness
+Control the enemy
-Only really like scepter and dagger as weapons
-Feels kinda dull

Engineer:
Gameplay, very fun
+Mad Engineer vibe
+Flexibility
+Control the enemy
-Kits are ugly(duh.)
-Only two weapons (kits)
-Ugly backpacks
-Steampunk

Mesmer:
+Interesting concept
+Cool visuals
+Illusion gameplay
+Control the enemy
-Bad mobility
-Mainstream

Thief:
+Cool style
+Mobile
+Stealth
-Can get spammy
-Initiative sucks
-Too few spells

And: Which server is the most active overall on EU, both general PvE and WvW?
