I can confirm this as I was there defending the keep too (I’m even in the screenshot). We were getting hit with AoE’s through the wall which ended up destroying a few of the carts, and we had to stay away from that wall as well to avoid taking damage. The result was that this thinned the defense on that side of the room which led to the alter being destroyed. Although we were able to keep the orb (And defend the keep), we were disappointed when it reset up North and thus we ended up losing it anyway.

As for what we were getting hit by? Flamethrowers for sure, I think some melee people were swinging through the wall, was getting hit by AoE too but there were no red circles I could see to designate that there was supposed to be enemy AoE there.

We had the corridor shut down pretty tight, so I guess they resorted to trying to attack through the wall because they couldn’t get into the room.

Camps are worth 5 points, towers are worth 10 points, keeps are worth 25 points, and Stonemist Castle is worth 35. Add everything up that you own, and that’s how many points you get.

Open up the WvW menu and you’ll see the breakdown.

Siege Weapons Despawn when you leave WvW?

From what I’ve heard if siege is not manned for 30 minutes it despawns, which I have to agree is very lame. Just this morning my server was sieging a keep with trebuchets, had to leave to defend the keep our orb was in, only to come back to find that four of the five trebs had despawned which meant we had to spent more money/badges as well as supply to put siege back up that shouldn’t have disappeared in the first place.

I can understand despawning build sites, but I’d really like to see it changed that completed siege not to be despawned.

It seems inconsistent too, two nights back I was on Eternal and our keep had tons of defensive siege in it. At one point we hadn’t been attacked in quite some time, meaning the siege didn’t need to be manned, some of which was hidden from view unless you knew where to look for it, and it was all still there when it was needed.

I have a feeling this is Dragonbrand vs. Maguuma, in which case I was one of the players defending that keep.

We had the orb in the keep and we were quite intent on keeping it, the Dragonbrand zerg cut through the outter walls rather quickly, and a group of us barely got there in time before the inner gate was breached. Thankfully some players had thought ahead and placed arrow carts in Lord/Orb room.

This allowed us to stop the Dragonbrand zerg in it’s tracks, an advantage we desperately needed as in the early morning hours they greatly outnumber us.

To the people saying that Dragonbrand should have used counter siege: They tried, and at first many of us in the keep room were freaking out when we saw the build sites going up, but we quickly realized that the siege was near ineffective and hence not much of a threat. We managed to pot shot them dead anyway, but the arrow cart had limited range, and the catapult couldn’t hit any of our siege inside the room and was limited to just knocking those of us back that stood in the corridor/stairs.

We wiped them twice, on their third attempt they did manage to destroy the alter but not get a hold of the orb. However what’s really lame is the orb reset in our North alter and was thus easily taken by Dragonbrand, a valiant defense that proved vain in the end, though we did keep our keep.

Other than the loss of our orb there was one other thing that was bothering a lot of Maguuma defenders… a lot of Dragonbrand started attacking through the wall and were able to destroy a few of the arrow carts that way, and we had to stay away from that wall to avoid taking damage, which I believe is one of the factors that led to the alter being destroyed as it thinned out the defensive line on that side of the room.

You are brought down to the level appropriate for the area +1, the only real time you fight higher leveled monsters is during dynamic events.

And you get your gear bonuses still, and hence you DO have an advantage in lower level zones, not to mention your traits.

Regarding Legendaries

Why are all Legendaries limited to just one set of stats? I’d like to work for something other than power/vitality/toughness. Both the Greatswords even have the same stats, and why do they get two when most other weapons only have one available, if any?

WvWvW Advantages

Currently WvW matches are rematched to new opponents every 24 hours, the purpose of this is to rate and balance the servers. Eventually the matches will go back to being two weeks long, and theoretically matches should be somewhat even as you’ll be against similarly rated servers. WvW is an on-going battle, the only time you get the clean slate is after a re-matching.

-WvWvW counts toward map completion
-Dungeons DO NOT count toward map completion
-There’s a few PoI’s that can only be reached via story (Fort Trinity for example)
-A commonly missed PoI is the Chantry of Secrets, a portal in Bloodtide Coast, for some reason it counts as a map and does not show up on overworld map and such
-If you’re missing two hearts it means you haven’t completed all the zones, look for spyglasses in zones you’re missing hearts in

People are getting exotics from map completion and drops and such, so they price to sell without thought to what the item would cost to make.

I had done the math too and also came to the conclusion that crafting exotics for the purpose of making profit is a waste of time.

Even boxes of all sizes are going for a net loss…

Raise the 25 bleed stack limit

I have to agree that something needs to be done with the bleed limit, I can almost fill the 25 stacks by myself (Dual-sword warrior build, ~60’ish% crit with 33% trait + 60% sigil to bleed on crit, at least 80% bleed duration due to traits). Very easy to maintain over 10 stack, fights that last long enough will get to 15 (21+ when I use the burst skill and such)

I hope we get a seperate Utility bar for underwater combat

You get separate utilities for underwater, something I didn’t realize right away myself until I noticed it was empty.

Level 20 too late to start crafting?

It is beneficial to craft while you level as it does give you experience, but even if you wait till 80 the experience is not wasted as you still earn skill points on each over-level.

And as someone else pointed out there’s a “collections” tab that can hold most collectables. You can even deposit them while out in the world by clicking the gear in your inventory and hitting “deposit all collectables”, or right clicking individual collectables to deposit. Another option if you find yourself running out of space is to use unused character slots as mules to hold items. Of course, you can always use gems (which can be bought with gold too) to buy space expansions.

It’s handy to be able to craft your own upgrades, but with how the economy is it’s often cheaper to simply buy the items anyway.

How does Magic Find work?

If magic find works anything like it does in ARPG’s like Diablo III, a 1% boost does NOT mean 1/100 items will be magical, it would increase the magic find % by 1%. If, some how, you got 100% magic find, you’d simply be twice as likely to pick up magical items.
