Might be stupid to ask, but is the signet on cooldown at times?
The passive only works if the active hasn’t been used.
Like maybe you used all your utilities underwater and then you get back onto land, your signet is on cooldown.
Hm since it would be obvious to you if you see them use leap/teleport/charge skills,
I’m going to have to guess that your pet is engaging in combat and putting you into in-combat movement speed which is slower than out-of-combat movement speed.
Same, I noticed that it happens mostly when I try to pick up a bundle item (ice bow / fiery greatsword) and it fails to equip.

really good list for new players
make use of “Character Model Limit” and “Character Model Quality” in options to get some more FPS if there are too many players around
I think those boosters only increase kill exp, not event exp
They give plenty of information through NPCs, interactive objects, and the status bar.
Too bad people don’t read them.
I’ve noticed the flamethrower bundle at Steampipe Steading applies burning per hit and has a lot more base damage than the engineer’s standard flamethrower.
The damage is pretty good, but retaliation is still pretty killer haha.
You can stay in one kit forever if you want, but optimally you should juggle between kits to use all your hard hitting skills. (like you might want to use 3 and 5 on rifle before switching over to a kit)
You can also forgo kits entirely and go with a static discharge build (Tools II trait)
Go for utilities with low cooldown toolbelt skills to trigger static discharge along with a rifle for a weapon for most damage.
Or you can play around with the turrets if you just want to have some fun.
There are a lot of good builds, so just search around the forums a bit.
You can stash it in the bank then return with another character to pick it up.
I believe the level 1 swords are for NPC use and not available for players.
Here is the player equivalent
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Ebon_Vanguard_Sword
1. For arenas, you can jump right in by clicking on the crossed swords icon on the top left of your screen.
From there you can enter the Heart of the Mists to customize your maxed out character (everything is available to you from the start with the exceptions of the newly added healing skills + racial skills)
Or you can enter right from the browser either standard play or tournament play.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Structured_PvP
The battlegrounds equivalent would be WvW, which can be accessed by the top left tower icon or hotkey “B”. This is a bit different than arena pvp, you enter the battle at your current level with the skills you unlocked through PvE and you are then given stat boosts accordingly.
You can gain experience and items from this.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/World_versus_World
2. Crafting not only gives crafting profession exp, it also gives standard exp as well.
Its a fast but expensive way to get to level 80.
Its quicker and easier to buy your equipment from the trading post as you level up, but
look into artificer (magic weapons) and tailor (light armor) to craft high end ascended equipment once you reach 80.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Artificer
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Tailor
3. Talent points need the appropriate training book to unlock each tier. But after those initial purchases (10 silver, 1 gold, 2 gold) its really cheap and easy to reset your traits.

Are bugs ok to add onto the wiki page?
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Protection_Injection
-Does not go into the 5 second cooldown for knockdowns (say if you were to get rolled by a veteran karka, you would end up with a long duration protection)
-Activates even if the disable is mitigated by stability
-Doesn’t trigger on launch
Hm I don’t think they do, maybe it was confused with the power shoes trait that has changed from in combat 25% to permanent 25%.
Or one of those suggestion threads that have gadgets mirror signets in functionality.
Usually the best defense is a good offense. You want to kill the enemy as fast as possible while utilizing the built-in dodge feature.
As for toughness vs vitality, ideally it would be a mix of both depending on your armor class and the base health of your profession.
Sounds like you have slick shoes slotted instead.
Double check your utilities while underwater.
Thanks zenguy, it means a lot.
And thank you coglin, we all appreciate your efforts even if we don’t say it much.
(and all you other wiki editors as well!)
You would need to complete the full amount stated (to get the “end” achievement), but you can supplement it with special Wintersday dailies.
We don’t want to get on Tixx’s naughty list

Pulses once every 2 seconds.
You gain quickness.
And as a side effect you gain either haste (unique to thief) or frenzy (unique to warrior).
Good to hear.
It might be harder to test with the other conditions though.
How is the heal at 1% going to work?
The forum link got removed
http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/1s31pc/new_healing_skills_datamined/
Toolbelt looks fun, hope its not melee range though
It will work in WvW, but difficult to pull off in sPvP.
Also to my understanding, when you use two % chance on crit sigils, they both go on cooldown when one activates.
Its going to last 6 weeks this year instead of 3 weeks. Maybe they have a few surprises left in store for us?
I can finally finish up last year’s collection of event minis.
Bottom right of the condition icon there should be a number. This indicates the amount of “stacks” that skill provides.
It doesn’t stack in damage, rather it stacks in duration, but this duration has a cap.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Poison_Volley
Poison volley has a 5, thus gives 5 stacks of poison.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Insect_Swarm
Insect swarm also has kitten 5 stacks as well.
These add up to 10, but the cap is 9.
Since insect swarm casts the slowest, you lose out on one of these stacks (3 second duration)
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Blowtorch
This has changed from 3 hits at close range to 1 hit that does 3x damage at close range.
Applications: less retaliation damage, less proc hits (ex: flamethrower toolbelt’s incendiary ammo will still have 2 charges left over)
Same with the burning, instead of 3 stacks of 2s burning, it is now 1 stack of 6s burning.
Applications: Conditions have a max stack limit.
Data with poison grenade: Explodes into a poison field lasts 5 seconds, each second in the poison field gives 5 seconds of poison.
+30% condition duration gives each poison application 6.5 seconds (5 × 1.3)
With 6.5 seconds, we can ignore how long the poison field lasts if this theory of condition duration stacks is true. (Because none of the stacks of poison applied at the start of the poison field expire when the poison field disappears)
If there was no cap, then total poison duration would be (6.5s poison X 3 grenade fields X 5s duration per grenade field) = 97.5s of poison —-- with 15 stacks of poison (3 grenade fields X 5s duration per grenade field)
Tests on the sPvP golems show that the poison duration goes up to 58 seconds.
(6.5s X 3 X 3s) = 58.5s of poison —-- 9 stacks of poison (3 grenade fields X 3s duration per grenade field)
Amateur and quick tests, do not take these too seriously
—TL;DR: There is a cap of 9 stacks of poison, but don’t quote me on this!—
There is probably some cap on the stacks of poison a target can have.
Speculation Duration stacking works like a queue. Conditions “line up” in the queue until it hits max capacity, which then ignores all other applications until a spot opens up.
After testing with poison grenade on engineer and looking at your data, there might be a cap of 9 stacks of poison.
Poison volley applies 5 stacks instantly
Insect swarm applies 5 stacks over ~1.5 seconds
Because none of the poison volley stacks have expired yet, the last insect swarm cast provides no poison duration, accounting for the missing 3 ticks.
I was going off this schedule, so assume its the 5th and if you are lucky it will end on the 6th.

Edit: maybe they do some wvw maintenance 1 day earlier to deliver rewards
-From a lore standpoint, a charr engineer would fit best (since they pioneered the profession)
However, there are some terrible clipping issues with some of the charr armor or so I’ve heard.
-If you pick human, you will have a pretty active starting area to play in. (though you could always just pick another race and travel to the human area)
-Most of the racial skills are for aesthetics and are largely outperformed by similar profession skills.
Are you talking about the story completion pop-up where you get a couple silver + exp?
You can use these extra dailies to close the gap quicker on people who start slacking.
Probably by in-game mail in January
I think any retroactive solution would anger a lot of people who have sold the rings at an earlier point, like when they made ballot tickets sellable and representative buttons not.
Here’s my favorite
A complaint about the designer hoodie in gem store.

3x same class, its always fun to see how your friends’ characters end up compared with yours.
Power grenade or Rifle S/D work well if you don’t want to use conditions

Toolkit’s Prybar – 5 stacks @ 5seconds, 15s CD
Bombkit’s Concussion Bomb- 5 stacks @ 5seconds, 18s CD

Wiki + In-game description are inconsistent on “explosion radius” (maybe 120 is the proximity radius and 180 is explosion?)

Maybe clarify that the stated duration is how long the converted boons last
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Elixir_S
There is a weird interaction between Fast-Acting Elixirs (-20% cooldown) and Elixir S
where the description changes to state both a duration of 3 seconds and 3 3/4seconds in-game.
The duration does not change except with Potent Elixirs (+20% duration)
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Rifled_Barrels
Increases Pistol #1 damage by ~10% (not the condition damage)
You would have to transfer to a different server to join another team.
Before jumping to conclusions I would wait until we see the new Flamekissed skin. Maybe you will like it so much that you forget about this mess.
The other option is to write a ticket and state your case. I assume they will handle refunds on a per player basis since they left so many details out.
Yes, the #2 skill feels very lackluster.
Not only does it pull the enemy towards you, it also has the shortest interrupt duration (compared with knockdown/fear/daze)
