I’ll try to explain it again:
Some people preferred to farm cof1 hours daily to get thousands moneys.
Other decided to give up rewards and just farm fractal 48 with 45 AR (with 55 is already easy….).

Now players that played little fractal feels entitled to rare SKINS.

You know its like deleting 6 months of farming for some players and just giving free moneys to Others?
Basically its a big slap in the face to whoever played fractal despite the awful rewards….and at least got a skin.

Totally unfair…. and has 0 reason to be done….since rare skins are supposed to be in the game since manifesto.

As said even 166 would be way too easy…because that is calculated on level 48 and you get pristines at 10+

The rng is a total excuse….as i proved people wants easy skins.

I have been doing Fractals 48 daily for the last 2 months, and not daily before that. Started long before 55 ar. recently stopped cuz i got a new job. Still no greatsword for me so i welcome a change even if it means all my farming was unnecessary! I dont care lol. Honestly, if a new way to obtain them was implemented im happy for the other players that don’t have to farm forever like some people to get the weapon they want. They will enjoy the game more and not suffer terrible rng. Your logic is because i had to suffer rng everyone else should too. meh… Also, if they introduced 50 pristine for a relic(not saying its my first choice but) Your farming would not have been wasted. You still have the weapons you wanted and saved 50 relics since you alrdy have them. Leaving room for you to buy other weapons you dont have yet. You also have a headstart on pristine relics which im sure you have many saved up in your bank.

get the axe took me 1 year, so just do more fractal and hope , my hope is anet will make new fractal skin then can be dropped only in lvl 50+ when it will return runnable, but they have to be awesome pls anet do that, so i can return farm fractal all day ^^

Yeah ofc my personal best party for dungeon is 2 ele 1 war 1 guard and 1 ranger

War for banner, ele for vulne, guard for proyectil reflection and ranger for frost spirit spotter and perma fury for all party

i think the 10/30/0/30/0 have the most of things you want or can use 10/30/0/20/10 for have the buff damage for each illusion

for dungeon if you have a friend run mesmer and guard and let the rest run zerker war, the averege off war are much better then the averege off the mesmer and the guard and their job is just damage, for fractal idk i just run it with other 3 friend min

all melee mesmer for pve? i use 10/30/0/30/0 sword-focus sword-pistol/sword all zerker

i using 0/20/0/20/30 fullzerker but if prefer can try knight armor and zerker trinket

i dont know how was the player that kicked you and sure kick some1 from dungeon is something i hate, but hammer ele is normal he use water skill when dont have the hammer up (keep him alive is your work), axe war i use gs only for 100b the rest us axe autoattack and vulne skill with axe-mace, melee malrona is the easyest and faster way but you need to be prepared no remove condition, no sigil from weap and wall+shield of avenger

Why does it seem that people are more tolerant of non-max efficient team compositions in fractals than ‘regular’ dungeons? Is there just simply something special about fractals that allows for a broader range of classes/builds to excel?

This picture reminds us once again that you shouldn’t judge people based on their class. Several minutes earlier this guardian told us in Lion’s Arch that he didn’t want to team up with 2 light armors and a ranger for Fractals level 20.

We managed to convince him to give it a try anyway, but he predicted that we’d find out in no time that it doesn’t work.

Our first Fractal is the swamp, we all do fine. Guess who is the first player to go down at Mossman? In fact, throughout the whole run our squishy players did really well. Our ranger hardly went down, our other necro a few times, and I hardly went down at all. The guardian was eating the dirt quite a lot throughout the whole run. It really all boils down to player skill. And no doubt some classes are better than others. There is an imbalance, make no mistake. And don’t get me wrong, this particular player wasn’t a bad guy. He finished the run with us, and we didn’t hear anything out of him after the first Fractal. So I’m not posting this to come down on the guy. But this attitude has got to stop. Just play together and have fun.

can happen, consider mossman most of the time only focus 1 player for the entry fight, btw i will never run fractal with 2 necro and dont care how many light harmor in party

Guardian. Unscathed Contender OP. 40% dps modifier against burning foe with Aegis up.

LH ele got 10% if boss burning, 20% when boss under 33% hp, 10% when healt above 90%, 20% in boss under vulne and you are in water attunement and wich hammer ele got 98%crit chance

in optimized party atm LH ele is much usefull then 1 war, the only good point for a war is banner and vulnerability but 2 war is enought for the job

my pve build is dungeon based for example for shaman 48+ i use knight armor (i feel more sure) for rest use a mix of zerker valkirie (15k hp is enought for anything), the hammer build (trait and armor) isnt easy to use and you need a good guardian and cant be used in any dungeon

CoE all paths are 4warrior/mesmer friendly and much much more easliy and faster done with that setup and i see people do them quite a lot too.

best coe setup for me is 2 ele 2 war and mesmer but ele 2 war mesmer and guard or 2 ele war mesmer and guard is good too

the build is 30/20/0/20/0 you have to stay perma water attunement and is always all crit because wich the hammer i have 102% crit chance

that is interesting, can you please say about it a bit more? what are those traits (assuming in fire there is the one for more hits with LH), utilities… and how it actually work. I never tried LH in pve as a main source of damage … thanks in advance

I don’t think they made any new ele builds viable in SPVP. Guardians also did not gain a viable build, overall, this patch added a bunch of new PVE builds but almost no PVP ones for most classes(probably almost all?).

What pve builds did they add? Everything outside lightning hammer ele is bad for PvE, so please take your spvp martyr complex somewhere else.

Lightning Hammer ele is only really all that big of a deal for solo pve content, for group pve content including events, staff fields and d/d auramancer support builds are both viable and valuable. Staff got a lot of small boosts to cast times and aftercast that really add up for dps.

What a load of crap. Lightning Hammer’s DPS is unmatched in dungeons.

If you mean to treat DE’s as some sort of serious PvE, knock yourself out with staff. But in dungeons, nothing touches LH. Not even close.

Nobody needs an auramancer in dungeons — you need damage and reflection — that is all. Guardians cover reflection and might, while warriors cover might and banners and they bring an ele for just his LH DPS.

Your utility is redundant and unnecessary in organized PvE.

Because DPS is the only thing that matters in dungeons. spewing out boons and fields and auras doesn’t help at all, right?

Honestly though I’m really not seeing how lightning hammer is supposedly the highest dps in the game. a Thief’s sword chain does near 10k damage if it all crits, the full lightning hammer chain does maybe 8-9k and is slower (I suppose it can get to 10-11k damage full chain if you go full zerker 30/30/10/0/0 and spec stone shards and be in fire attunement for the extra 20% damage). The knockback doesn’t do all that much damage and the leap does maybe 2k on a crit, and the storm is unreliable (often times it doesn’t hit at all). It’s decent damage but it’s certainly not ‘unmatched’

sure ele need some buff, but if the buff mean change our play stile then the answer is no chage pls

the best fight i got in gw2 was the shaman at lvl 48, was awesome so no need change, this game need more boss like him that make you say “hell yeah” when you kill him

Threads like this are the reason I am going to laugh when CoF gets a work over like Ac.

The thief is not a bad class, its just unforgiving and well I wouldn’t be using those skills, I’d drop it to either Signet of Agility or Signet of Malice, and bring Shadowstep, I also kinda stopped using Shadow Refuge for Roll for Initiative.

A CoF rework is just gonna result in everyone moving to SE. >_>

Funny how my guild group kills alpha much faster than that when I run my necro.

I was going to say something similar, but pointing out how slow they were just seems like piling on.

like i said this aint my max dps (if you dont know how to read aint my fault) the video were just a example for the ele dps (normal run alpha is dead with 7-8 attack left on my gs if want to know) , but ofc a necro do more dps

Without warrior support it deals 3-4000 dps in full zerker but the attack rate is not so fast.

Not to mention that fiery GS is by definition a Burst due to the cooldown.
If you look at DPS conjured weapons are not that appealing and expecially if you think of all downsides they have …

In game you often will lose your conjured.

mesmer has a lower base attack as i read on a post by dev, whereas ele has the lowest base attack in game.

The offender btw are the 8sec CD 100B AND axe burst.

And i don t think we should still discuss war dps as the best in the game….

no you need warrior or guardian..

Mesmer is only for CoF path 1 portal for lazy players.

unfortunately there are huge misconception that some classes are good…

-mesmer its really not that good and overrated for antiprojectile

-Ele is hugely underrated at antiprojectile but unfortunately even in zerker his dps is too low and can be a hinderance (there are DPS walls in the game).
If you see an ele with a staff btw you know that 90% it won t bring much to the party in any area.

-thief is the most underrated PvE profession its really strong beside not being a star class like G and W, unfortunately most thief players are not experienced in PvE and that goves the class a bad reputation
Aside that is possible the third best.

-eng is also good for support….better than ele possibly but again who cares of support?
With a game balanced around pure DPS.

TL:DR this is the only game where “a dead character deals no damage” rule doesn t work

Its better to die in a burst of damage than trying slowly to kill opponents.

-most fights resets
-downed state push dps
-cc are useless
-2/3 seconds protection/invu skills promotes burst
-HUGE mob regen
-mob damage and numbers are completely unbalanced to push difficulty instead of a good AI (its a mmorpg u can t ask much more) or other methods (most work should be done here instead see random encounters).

and stuff like that….
In this meta the 3 rules are

Guardian are best
Warrior are second best
Every equipment that isn t Pow prec crit, is subpar.

hammer ele is 1 of the highest dps in the game and the fierygs in the right circumstances is the highest

Harder content should reward better loot. Reward players for playing well and beating harder content. That’s really all I can say on this topic anymore.

Isn’t it that higher level fractals already have access to “better loot” not available in lower level fractals nor in World Boss chest?

The definition of “better loot” is undefined and fully subjective.

Having access into getting Ascended Items and Fractals item is, to me, a better loot than the vendor trash I get in most of the World Boss events.

Yesterday doned the shaman at 48 and dropped 2 blue and 1 green is a just reward for you? or the mossman and again 2 blue and 1 green? maw chest a glacial core? no fractal skin and no ring?

Seeing as so many classes (Engi, Necro) have a ton of bugs, and every class has a lot of utility skills that just flat out suck, I doubt conjures will get a major rework anytime soon.

Conjures already flat-out suck. They’re the worst of all the utilities on the classes I play regularly (ele/thief/mesmer/necro/warr). At best, they are novelty value.

Edit: Simply increasing the duration of conjured weapons won’t make us use them. The problem is that we need all four attunements to be able to survive, and conjures lock us out of them.

Exactly. In order to justify giving up 20 skills and a utility slot for a conjure, the conjured weapon skills need to be amazing (which they are far far from currently), or they need not to lock out attunement switching.

Fiery GS is pretty good for tagging mobs in Cursed Shore, and to run away from chasers, but I have never found any situation other that those that favors Fiery Greatsword to fight instead of keeping all of your elemental attunements and gain access to pretty much everything else.
