Give p/p a small buff (anet you have excelent ideas here)
Give us a rifle with 1200 range, WvW feels really vulnerable with our 900 range while every other class have 1200-1500 range.
Giving 1200 range on Bow Autoattack is not viable since it would make the weapon extremly OP.
Bump, for the sake of Anet listening to thieves and what we actually NEED.
But i wouldn’t like the idea oof the closer you are the less damage it makes, its boring for pve and such.
Also the stealthed skill shold be something like Warriors killshot.
I really think anet should really take a look at this, there reallly some nice ideads that would giv the thief a needed ranged fresh gameplay

You know, i really want this idea to develop enough to be considered, so instead of just saying whats wrong and overpowered about the weapon set he suggested, why not give suggestions or write your own, here I’ll start.

The damage is too low, The skills are good:
1: Inflicting vuln is great, wouldnt make it OP cus of the short duration but good enough to make it viable for teamfights.
2: a cripple that is needed. good
3: I love this, would make perfect sense, like to remove important boons from guardians and so but without making it too OP
4: This is the only issue i have, Venom shot dont have any synergy with any of the other skills, i would replace it for a blind or even a daze.
5: Great idea, but too much ini cost,7 would be enough.
I really really hope Anet listen to this because we really really need a 1200 range weapon, and gicving shortbow 1200 range would just make it terribly OP.

I agree that steal-cnd combo is a lil OP, Backstab itself its not. i crit for max 5k on bunkers (without signet). But making steal interrupt any action would kill the class mechanic, and thats a fact, i already started to change my mind set and try to play p/p even if its a lackluster spec.
A rifle is needed, we need a 1200 range weapon and cluster bomb is not good enough as the rate we can shot is pretty low on keeps defense.
P/D set is fine, Flankng strike needs a total rework while keeping the same idea, pehaps change the vade to shadowstep behind. Right now it misses 75% of the time.
Okay so if Anet is planning to destroy our burst, here are some things that thiefs really need to make other sets way more interesting and appealing.
First of all: Pistol/pistol
I tried, i really tried, i even bought 2 Mystic revolvers to have the max dmg output and because i really like the p/p scheme but unload is just not viable. Specially not in WvW/pve.
Here are some “realistic” suggestions that p/p could use.
1. A damage boost is needed, the actual damage makes the set completly useless when out of initiative (3 unload)
2. Why would i even use that, 5 vuln stacks is not worth, when i could just use unload and do way more damage than what that 5% dmg would offer. Giving this a cripple would make the skill way more usefull and more synergetic with the Medium range pistol offer.
3. Needs a damage boost and an Animation speed boost, both by 10-15%. Right now its just too easy to avoid, 2 dodges and you are out of initiative finding yourslef spamming 1 with almost no outgoing dmg.
4. Works as intended, perhaps could use a damage boost. Maybe give the same dmg formula as Dancing dagger.
5.Hmm no synergy at all with the rest of pistol but still good utility to fight ganks and so. Perhaps give this the ability to burst the field giving stealth to yourself. That would be a good fix.

I play a Backstab burst build in WvW and yes, my damage is pretty good but i die in 1 sec, i cannot stand on aoes, i cannot get close to walls, my role is to pick of targets, take taht away from the thief and what we have?

and if nerfed, bad burst.
Rendering the class almost useless or forced to play Condition thief, and that is just pathetic.
Warriors 2 shoot me, Bunker guardians deal with me, shatter mesmer kitten me… i really hope Anet know what he is doing, or they will mess the whole class up because some freaking baddies dont know how to stun break or move away….
I really hope Anet takes a look at this, THief really feels awkward when defending keeps, and we are forced to sit in the wall spamming 2 every 4 secs, because anything else will be out of range.
Completly agree with this, the cost of some Legendary gifts are kittenly extreme, compare gift of color (250 dyes WTF?) vs Liquid flame (100 destroyer lodestones)….
This should really be adressed but Anet just wont do it.
One more time, today, a lot of situations in WvW where i was just sitting on a wall spaming Cluster bomb, because all my other attacks were out of range, while everybody down the wall was able to hit me.
It is kind of frustrating in that kind of situations…

Agree with the kits thingy, legendaries need alot more love and imo anet would be able and should do it, once more, for the sake of the endgame.
Okay, picture this.
Stone mist castle, we are sieging. They are at the door and everybody is usimg 1200 range weapons, there is no flanks no nothing, you are forced to either not dps or just run in and back while other just stay back and shoot you.
I do enjoy SB WvW and i trully enjoy D/D ganks and suck but im really missing a option that actually gives me the range other professions have, all of them.

How do you shake the aggro of 50 WvW invaders, when your 900 range makes you stand in the front line therefore being the main target.
They are thieves, bandits, they can be masters of stealth or bucaneers. Unlike Gw1 Assasisns.
How would it be OP? imo Close range stealth is FAR more dangerous since you are in a far more stressing situation where the Thief can jump on you at any second.
Just to give an example, in WvW ZvZ every single class has a 1200 range option, while the thief is stuck to roam at 700-900 making him utterly vulnerable, and considering thief has medium armor and the lowest health pool…. Thief really needs rilfe.
Just bumping this, make it happen.
Imo the skills are well balanced combined with the ini cost.
Sniper shot seems a lil bit OP since while in stealth we can charge the shoot as much as you want.
My suggestion.
The more range the more damage, making at 1500 slightly more damage than Warriors Kill shot.

For some odd reason that pencil didnt appear before ( i was logged and all) Anyway, done.
I ve been trying to find some cool daggers, something with particle effect or just different than just a boring etched blade.
Looking at greatsword they have tons of different ones, from the Foefire essence to the Volcanus.
It seems like other weapons are a bit left off or just we havent found them yet. So far for what Mystic forged daggers respect we have only found Jormags needle and Tear of grenth, and both of them are rather boring.
I know this is happening with a lot of other weapons, would someone mind sharing any skins, or perhaps lindsey herself tell that there is more and we just havent discoverd it yet.

As it is know the bast majority of the community is really dissapointed with most of the legendary weapons, not because the skins are ugly but because the lack of effects or simply the lack of variety.
Some Weaposn feel really worked, for example, The three greatswords, the hammer or the bolt, while other are rather simple showing only the weapon skin with no “legendary animations”.
In this thread we try to comment what would it take to make the current legendaries to actually put up for the name.
The point is to have the same skin, no radical changes, just changes that would make it feel better for the users.
I will start by describing all the weapons we know by now, the adding w/e effect imo should be added to make it more like it.
The Bifrost:
Current effects: Glowy rainbow staff, makes your whole body glow with a rainbowish effect, pretty neat if it fits your character.
Issues and fix: Doesn’t fit necromancers or dark themed staff users, perhaps making a dark version the same way the gs are twins?
Bolt:
Current effects: Lightning swing, lightning body glow, lightning footsteps and electric noise. This weapon is actually perfect as legendary if you ask me.
Rodgort:
No info
The Dreamer:
Current effects: Shoot rainbows.
Issues and fix: Keeping the rainbow style, the whole weapon is missing that something that makes it be seen, perhaps rainbowish footsteps or a body glow would make it more viable.
Flameseeker prophecies:
Current effects: Glows blue and Pages turn themselves.
Issues and fix: For the moment we know offhand weapons dont offer any animation changes, imo that should be changed. Open suggestion on how to improve this weapon.
Frenzy:

Frostfang
Current effects: Big ice axe, look pretty neat and have ice footsteps and half you arm frozen.
Issues and fix: hard to notice, perhaps some chilly effect should be added to the body.
Howler:

Incinerator
Current effects: A intense fiery blade comes from the hilt, gives blazing footprints.
Issues and fix: Extremly hard to notice, adding swing effect to leave a trail of fiery or giving the user a fiery body glow, like the one used for endure pain (warrior skill)
The Juggernaut:
Current effects: Awesome weapon, swinging it leaves a trail of liquied silver, also it gives a metallic effect to whole your body.
Kudzu:
Current effects: Shoots flowers and gives “flower footsteps”.
Issues and fix: imo the bow is pretty neat, nice and big skin and the flower footsteps combined with the flower shooting makes it easy to see.
Kraikitin:
Current effects: The eels move slightly and have a “dark breath” at day, at night the staff frozes and have a glowy effect.
Issues and fix: Perhaps make the eels move way more?
Maw of the deep

Current effects: Planets move slightly and it has a really small glow.
Issues and fix: The skin is fine but it doesn’t feel legendary, giving the user “cloudy” footprints or giving it clouds arround the body would totally solve the issue.
The minstrel
Current effects: Just an arp, some music notes goes arround it, almost imposible to notice.
Issues and fix: Give Musical notes footsteps aswell as doing the weapon itself more noticeable.
The moot
Current effects: It’s a discoball, and it shines, also when you hit it sounds like firecrackers.
Issues and fix: Pretty rad weapon actually, perhaps make it a lil more glowy? speacially in dark ambients.
The predator
Current effects: Just kitten, a sniper rifle that shoots lasers nad have the pact cannons sound when shooting, i just wish they add rifles to thieves so i can create this.
Quip

Sunrise and Twilight: I think there’s no need to describe them, they look great and feel like a real legendary.
Well that is pretty much all i can say, i hope some of you guys comment here with some good suggestions and make arenanet hear us for the sake of the endgame!
