If the only weapon you’re using is the staff, I’d definitely recommend -10 from Soul Reaping and +10 into Death magic for the Staff Recharge rate. Since the big damage is in staff is from Putrid Mark and Chillblains, getting those as quickly as possible would be well worth losing the 5% loss in damage from high LF (not sure how often you use DS so it might not be worth losing Close to death). I’m figuring that the limited recharge on most DS skills is going to make it so the only thing lost from using Close to Death is the high retaliation uptime, but with the recent retaliation nerf that isn’t as useful as it was before.

Im usually switching out to my dagger/focus when i get close, in the video i just wanted to demonstrate the kind of aoe burst a necro can deal out, seeming i couldnt find any videos myself ( probably didnt look that hard). I can see what you’re saying with the reduced CD on Staff skills but i wouldnt give up my retaliation for anything, it does come in handy in a pinch. Since the video im now running bloodlust sigil and the sigil that gives a 10% chance on crit to gain swiftness, staff+ well bombing then quickly going to dagger + sigil to quick cap is awesome =D

Any other GoM hoping to face SF? Never did find out if they could rofl stomp us.

I have fought some really good players from both GoM and DR, Won some and lost some. But they have some really good players. In fact wanted to give a shout out to the VP thief I fought yesterday at the ruins in GoM BL (I think). Fought for what seemed like forever, finally got downed (Friggin’ Ranger Heal steal, lol), then a polite bow. Class act, I do the same.

Ok I should have said it better..But majority of gom are bad in pvp..ive seen some good ones also. Point I was trying to make was during tkitten no seige bug, Gom kept getting whiped everywhere. Now that seige is back…they r back to trebbing Anz 24/7, trebbing our keep or using golems which fail everytime cause they dont bother to take out oil.

To gom: Dont rely heavily on seige…maybe this is why you are one of the low servers.

what are you talking about…the night where siege was bugged, we ran around wiping everything we ran across, except blue eb keep/bravo due to it having siege placements. Last few nights in EB, smaller GoM forces have been fighting off larger DR/NSP forces, yes i said GoM had a smaller force. Just because GoM has more population doesnt mean theyre all fighting against 1 server, were usually fighting nsp and dr at the same time.

Then again we can all talk out our kittens cant we, ill follow your lead =p

True, true. Down here in tier 7 we dont have any real Zerg ball guilds to speak of, its mass vs mass. Many times i get targeted by thieves but its usually always the same tricks, Basilisk venom then try to burst you down. Thats easily countered by poping DS, fearing, imbolising with dagger # 3 then bursting them ( double well, focus #4 and then dagger spam).

Pretty much an average player here and facing thief after thief and mesmer after mesmer is no fun at all. Especially seeming their class mechanics can assure them alot of survivability while going full zerker, a lot more than us. so ill stick to bombing zergs as my fun

EB was hilariously fun last night, couldnt put down any siege at all so it was all smash your face on this door, smash your face on this zerg. 175 badges in three hours >.>

what have you guys gotten from wevp chests so far?

4 chests:
-4 siege pieces
-1 green
-2 rare armor pieces
-1 rare hammer.

For the longest time i only use to solo/small man team in WvW, it was fun for a while until the only classes it seemed i ran into were thieves and mesmers, not only that but the same organized 5 mans over and over again while mine was always random people from my server alliance. In no way am i trying to insult them, theyre all good players, theres just not much you can do against 5+ mesmers/thieves that have been running together for months.

So i decided that i was in need of a change, whats the opposite of solo/group roaming i thought? Of course the answer was zerging. I didnt want to be another condition Necro on the block, no offense, so i tried berserker gear and was pleasantly surprised with the out come, especially if you have more than one berserker necro at a time.

The down side to this build, which im sure has been posted before but its always nice to refrekitten now and again, is that it lacks sutvivability out side of large group play. It’ll pretty much be a race to see if you can nuke them down before they get you but with 5 sec DS and plague you can soak up alot of damage.

i commend him for playing the necro anet designed us to be! Embrace the zerg! Get more loot bags! If you want to solo roam dont do it on a necro, easier classes to do that on like…thiefs =p

I can assure you that there is no alliance with any of the two servers when it comes to the majority of GoM, I nor anyone else can say for certain that there arnt a few elements that may of made alliances. I’ve had commanders from many servers whisper me (for the record im just a guy with too much gold, for a WvWer, and dont command that much) asking me for such things and ill say no every time.

From what i see personally when im on, GoM attacks both NSP and DR, it just so happens that NSP is weak in population strength right now and people may be taking advantage of that fact. Usually when one starts to hurt theres a wholesale on their territory, just because its an easier fight, i hate that kind of fighting but it happens.

And you cant say i dont go for the hard fights either! Was in a 6 man ASH camp train, only 3 people in TS and we had an up lvl, and we saw xoxo/spca at south ruins, didnt want to dampen my style, /presses back hair /grins, so we rushed them. Sure we died in a few minutes and obsession was kind enough to laugh for me but you didnt laugh the second time did ya Made you run around something chronic, and then a few NSP [fap] members came, /wink wink, and it was all over for us =/ Mesmers and thieves, mesmers and thieves everywhere.

apparently there was spy in the TS, its their TS, their rules, they checked everyone, even the long time gom players.

Using a 0/20/20/30/0 power well build, id only pick up targetable wells if you know youre going to be in zerg vs zerg environment.

Axe #1 as a frontal cleave or give it 900 range with #2 also.

I hear alot that Necros are the attrition class of guild wars 2, if that is true, when will we start being it?

We dont have any real fancy tricks to avoid damage, we have our base defenses and DS and lack luster life siphoning. Life siphoning so bad it doesnt even really register.

I decided to make a pure bunker build out of curiosity:

30 in blood magic for life siphoning increase,well CD reduction and wells siphon life.
20 in death magic for condition lose in DS, 400 toughness while channeling.
20 in soul reaping for slower life force drain and speed of shadow’s ( mainly wanted the 15 point trait).

Full sentinel gear, around 2k toughness, 3.2k attack and 36k hp, well that was a waste of gold and time…..absolutely sucked, compare that to other class full bunkers, not even in the same league. o well what you going to do…ill just be beserker i guess…same survivability it seems.
