Ronah.2869 – yeah, no. I already “supported” arena net by purchasing the game and some gems.
If I decide to spend more money on gems, it will be for premium items you cant get any other way, not for wasting them on gold.
Beside that, you completely missed the point. As it is, cultural T3 is totally overpriced.
No to mounts, just no. One can get around on foot easily and quickly, plus the maps are not really designed for them.
Just remembering the mount zergs is WOW makes me shrug. Last thing I want to see in this game.
+100 on this. Really silly that we have no unlock the same things multiple times.
I think the prices for the t3 should be lowered. Stats wise, its nothing special (only rare), and it takes about 3 months of active saving (considering u would earn about a gold per day) to earn it. Paying that much for the skins is kinda silly.
I have looked all over, GW2DB, google, ingame PVP locker (although I am aware not all skins are listed here), and I can’t find the ghostbore musket skin for my rifle.
I simply love that weapon skin – so my question is this, does anyone know if it can be acquired ingame as a standard weapon skin?
Thanks.
@Cancer,
Exactly my thoughts on the matter.
While I don’t fully support the idea of some festival items being cash shop only, I understand why they did it like that, and that the gold to gem feature is not there for decoration (no matter how silly the current conversion rates are).
But the fact that you have to gamble for them is ridiculous.
If i want a special costume, I don’t want to spend a ton of money on stupid chests, I want the costume. Really dirty move on Anets, or whomever’s side.
But then again, the event is not live yet, we will see how it all plays out.
Playing as a charr engie, this really bothers me as well. Oldsgate coat looks absolutely horrible with its clipping.
I don’t get it, why is it so hard to make the armors “charr friendly”? It only takes about ~60 mins of actual work per piece for a good artist, so its safe to say that Anet could have it all fixed in like a day (especially considering there are not that many armor peices to begin with, and they would only have to “fix” certain gear).
Given their sales, I don’t think the cost would be a problem either.
Trow us a bone, anet.
Made GW pay to win? How? All “endgame” armors have the same stats, all “endgame” weapons have the same stats. You can unlock all skills for PVP trough PVE easily.
Makes no sense, he definitely mixed something up.
Overall, it’s a good system. It could use some tweaks, but its heart is in the right place.
A great post, agreed.
Waypoints shouldn’t cost anything.
Not having waypoint costs would kill the game world. Sorry but as much as i think the current price is too much, I also think it is necessary (the idea that is).
Skyrim and Oblivion both had “free” travel, and I found the games to be….boring that way. Its more fun to roam.
I still want to be “forced” to go trough the world from time to time – but I don’t want to be punished every time I want to get something done fast.
@OP -
Agreed.
Yesterday, I got 2 really bad blue under level items from a splendid chest, after solving a really hard (but fun) jumping puzzle in Plains of Ashford. I even had my magic find buff on! This is really silly.
Those kinds of chests should guarantee AT LEAST a green item of your level.
I agree 100% w/ the following, posted by OP (edit):
“Edit: In light of points brought up in the discussion so far here are my suggestions:
- Scale WP costs based on zone level rather than character level
- City WPs should be free to travel to from anywhere.
That would keep zerging under control but reduce a lot of the stress caused by the current system.”
I agree with this. Being lvl 40, the costs of traveling start weighing heavily on me. Especially since I’m the explorer type, and some of my friends are lowbies, so I hop between zones a lot. You know its bad when you are constantly calculating what you need to harvest/kill/do just to cover the traveling costs.
I hope we get an official response on this soon.
Not sure if I like it either. He looks ok both ways, but the teeth clipping is horrible
Humans:
- Faces, faces, faces: Yes – faces. Humans fall worst in my opinion. People have been complaining for months. Pointing out that humans look like supermodels. Too pretty. Too polished. Too perfect.
Humans are my favourite race in the game and I think they look great! Very happy with the level of customization. (Although my friend wants a ponytail for his necro badly)
She did not ask for removal of those options, but voiced concern about lack of variety. Nobody will remove those options from the game at this point
@ChaosKirin – That’s besides the point.
@CharrGirl This is a well thought out and compiled post – I agree on all points you bring out.
We had many, MANY threads with tons of posts in them about this (humans especially, and more face presets for other races) starting from the first CBT’s, yet, alas, anet does not seem to care about it. A huge minus in my book.
Lets hope that in the future Anet will address the character creation, and make it on par with the rest of the game. Maybe even an official response?
Kudos for posting this.
