Not sure what all the fuss is about, mag has their zerg time yaks has theirs and kain has ours to say each team doesnt stomp the other with 2:1, 3:1, and yes sometimes 4:1 odds is stupid, why complain when it happens to you if you do it to us, somehow you doing it makes it right? I havent been on the borderlands much the past two weeks as our guild has been on EB, but I’ve seen maguuma use more arrow carts and more effectively than any other server since the change so I really dont know why they would be complaining about our side using it in any situation other than telling us how poorly it might be set up when they get to one they see. Most of RE’s builds are built for group battles not 1 on 1 or 1v3 combat so thinking that your kill squads owning us when we get seperated is doing anything impressive is kindof funny. To the hills save we did the 2nd time we only had 15 come in to wipe your 15-20 this is estimating btw the numbers in the keep were about even as they could get we just got the jump on you there so chill(btw you guys even claim to do the same map hopping to save keeps so why complain when another group does it). I have had some amazing fights this weekend so far but it annoys me that we cant give respect when its due, like when mags gets SM, they can golem rush no prob cause after repeatedly telling our side to do it there is little defensive siege set up, but when mags owns SM you better believe there will be massive amounts of siege in there and golem rushing for our side isnt an option, we need to get to that level of defending capability. Mags this kain is still reorganizing, to think we’re fully ready yet to be the opponents you seem to want, you may havto wait some time. After all this is the first week we’re completely on our own, kain defenders without false numbers.

I don’t even know what you’re responding to with this. Can we try to quote the posts? A lot of threads go really off track when people just blanket respond to stuff that hasn’t even been said.

Unfortunately he could be replying to a number of posts. So much whine about 2:1, arrow carts and map hopping.

Map hopping is the funniest one for me, I had no idea anyone thought that was a cheap tactic lol.

Almost none of the organized guild in mag go to eb, we hate it. It’s a zerg fest wherever you go. You guys ran into 80 of us in eb? well, its eb what do you expect? And to defending east keep with arrow carts and a few other pieces of siege, you did get the patch notes for arrow carts right? also, you guys called for RE to come in and help you out a few times easily outnumbering our guys on our own bl to help you defend so no it wasnt just siege and a few people it was more than that. You also took east keep becaue the majority of our player hadn’t even gotten into our bl by the time you got to inner, and there were only about 10-20 of us there after you went to inner. After a little while we had a little bit more people but had to make the decision to leave east keep since it had no supply and yaks was getting awful close to our garrison. Oh, and nice try taking Garrison (thats what happens when we actually have people defending).

I wasn’t on MagBL (not sure why you assumed that lol), I was on EB fighting your guild.

They pretty much harass stragglers and pug zergs. They are pretty effective against unorganised groups that aren’t too big, but I feel like most of the zergs in this tier are too big for them to be able to do anything to.

I dunno. I roamed with 4 of them the other night and we were taking on zergs composed of a lot of the same guild tags. Other than that smashing other evenly sized groups that happened to cross our path. It was pretty impressive.

Yeh, I may be wrong but I was under the impression they were a ‘zerg buster’ squad.
Fights where they are 10vs10-20 they are definitely extremely good at, but I have yet to see them do anything to a decent 25/30 man zerg. Would love to be proved wrong though.

As a havok group though they are definitely top tier.

I missed last week, just wanted to say gj to TC for a first place finish. Definitely livens T2 up a bit to have real competition for first place.

T2 is just so cool. Can’t wait to jump in again.

Its because the server have different reasons for playing atm.

TC are excited they might get first place and are playing for points.

Kain and FA are playing to rank up WvW exp, and are just looking for the best way to farm exp (which is probably by chasing TC zergs).

Don’t know why PiNK are getting all the heat, its mostly other guilds running with a couple of PiNK that are running, but I don’t blame them.

This morning I was getting kind of tired of certain guilds repeatedly abusing the ‘ress a dead mesmer through the gate’ strategy.

I had thought this was going to be fixed this update, but apparently it hasn’t been…

I’d like to know from the other servers whether this is frowned upon? I know it certainly is in Kain.

Either way, I will keep amassing screenshots of the guilds that abuse this, and one day when I’m in a bad enough mood, I’ll expose you for the scum you are xD

I wont offer an opinion on JQ or SoR since you are familiar enough with them from T1.

BG – Cool server with great Oceanic/SEA guilds. If T1 is what you want again, I can only offer good things to say about BG.

Kain – My server (so obviously biased). I still think Kain has great potential. We have only been together as a server for a relatively short amount of time and only just finalized getting everyone onto the same communications server. Now we are starting to improve in terms of co-ordination and teamwork, which would be an ideal time for a new guild to come and join in and get to have their say in how we move forward with WvW in Kain. If you want a fresh start on a server that is still rapidly improving itself, choose Kain.
I’d also say the opportunity to work with WM should not be taken lightly, those guys have helped improve a lot of the people and guilds on this server drastically and as a Kain original I can safely say they changed the whole ethos of the server to one hungry for highly organised battle. Some of the best fun i have is getting to run with Jang in EB when my guild isn’t out in force, and since he is on like 15 hours a day, you can get infinite lootbags at any time of day on Kain.
WM, Meow and KoR are probably the main guilds you would be working with, and TC and FA will testify, those guys know how to WvW.

FA – Unfortunately don’t have a strong SEA. It would be an uphill battle for very little reward/appreciation, but a challenge might be what you are looking for and you would be testing yourself against WM (could be either depressing or rewarding).

TC – Again slightly lacking in this timezone, but a great server with a solid community. You would definitely feel appreciated on TC, and they would all be super nice.

Hope my somewhat biased opinions help a little :P

Still EB was great tonight, hours of non stop bouncing between SM, Outlook and spawn defending everything. TC must have been draining a whole lot of supply from their own BL to be able to throw down golems/trebs/rams/catas constantly in EB without a single camp!

I like that in T2 the fight is still very much alive on thursday. You dont really get that in any lower a tier.

Hey, I saw you guys on Kain BL today boldly rushing into PiNK’s 40 man zerg with about 12 people. At first I laughed, but each time you ran back in I gained a more respect for you. Good on you for playing for the fight and not backing down from impossible odds! Hope you enjoy T2!

From my point of view we (kain) are just focusing on whatever is easiest. Looks like FA is outmanned on EB? Time to flip their keep. TC busy on their own BL? Lets go flip theirs then.

For the sake of T2, TC and FA will eventually have to put their rivalry aside. This matchup would be really close if it was truly a 3-way, but with you two trying to spoil each others BL’s each night Kain NA is getting more points than we should. Also there hasn’t been a decent effort to take and hold SM in days. Its been flipped a couple of times, but its wierd that it has been 98% green straight from reset night.

Apart from that great matchup as usual. FA even started dropping some rares for me!

Haha, this is one of my favorite things about TC. I’ve run a couple stealth “missions” as a mesmer with duel thieves keeping us invisible. It’s very tense, and very fun.

I wouldn’t call it “cheap,” simply because it takes a significant amount of skill to pull of. It’s very mobile (often running RIGHT by enemies multiple times without their knowing), and requires heavy coordination between the group, as well as continual, well timed ability usage to keep the group stealthed. If you can keep a group of three running around and stealthed for 5 minutes or more…you deserve that piece of property, imho. And some people go for a lot longer than five minutes.

It’s certainly a lot more impressive than bashing a door down with a golem and taking something with a zerg…

Guess I disagree. At least golems allow you a certain amount of time to respond and are a significant supply invesment. Portalling through a wall to kill the keep lord 30v1 seems less impressive to me than busting your way through with seige.

Shout out to TSL, great guild that showed a lot of heart tonight defending Hills on KNBL. You guys sunk about 8 of our golems at the most ridiculously sieged up keep I have ever seen, and no matter the outcomes of the fights, you always came back with more people than before. Very impressed.

We’ve gone 8 pages without any serious arguments between FA and TC. Lets not start now.

Although the RET guy calling out PiNK on their numbers almost made me choke on my coffee… pot calling kettle black etc etc

Overall I’ve been really impressed by TC’s game. They dont have the numbers of Kain or FA and since they dont have any strong coverage I’m kind of scratching my head as to how they are staying in contention for 2nd. I certainly expected them to be solidly 3rd at the start of this week. I imagine PiNK must be putting in a lot of effort to help carry the server.

Nooo!!! I like T2. I agree that Kain joining with another server to become a T1 force might be a good idea in the future, but only once server pops die down to a reasonable level, culling and lag is fixed, and once T1 becomes as nice a community as T2.

Until then I think everyone is happy where we are currently. We will get to have a trip into T1 every so often and experience how brutal the coverage gap is, and to remind us that we are a T2 server now, unless something drastic changes.

To the guys talking about JQ collapsing… that’s not gonna happen. BG worked really hard last week to stay close to JQ and once the weeks roll by BG will have to take it a bit easier and will find their natural place as rank #2. I’d say guilds on BG are more likely to look for a new home in a months time, at least SoR will be able to drop down to T2 every so often and regain some morale. BG are in for a looooooong period of losing to JQ over and over. I expect most guilds will be fine, but there are always some that can’t take losing for a long period of time.

T2 is really fun at the moment though. Can’t wait to fight you again TC! Most of all I’m hoping TC puts up a fight during NA prime time. We need somebody to make FA scared of committing everything to our Borderland each night. At the moment nobody really worries about SoS.

Not sure why any server would want to move into T1. It’s a kittenfest of tears and burnout up there.

100% agree.

T2 is (or will soon be) far superior to every other tier.

1. You get great fights because of high populations, but you don’t get any headaches with queues.
2. The servers you play will have big strong, competitive guilds for everyone that likes the huge zerg vs zerg battles, but still opportunities for groups of 5-10 to have an impact in emptier areas.
3. The matchup threads are cleaner because everyone isn’t stressed 24/7 about how much they need to be winning by to move up a tier (because nobody really wants to).
4. The actual matchups will soon be very balanced, FA and Kain have strong timezones at opposite times and TC will be able to put up a better fight than SoS, which should mean the results each week will be different depending on who wants it more each week. (Also a surprise visit from SoR at some point might be pretty fun).

Having said all that, the huge downside is that T2 servers are a prime spot for guilds looking for T1 glory to join. I just hope we get a little bit of T2 stability before the next T1 titanic starts to sink.

SoS will fall next week to at least T3, they have lost so many guilds and are constantly hurting on their own borderland.

I hope SoR doesn’t crumble but being the small man between BG and JQ in a very static tier will be tough. I hope they don’t go the same way as SoS.

FA should be a T2 mainstay, their NA has gotten really strong with the recent transfers, easily comparable to the kind of NA BG was putting up after the SoS guilds joined. They have people in all maps all the time and enough people to wipe 20 times and still keep coming.

Honestly TC is going to have to make some ground on FA during oceanic/SEA to do well in T2 now. However FA/Kain/TC should be the standard T2 now, which I am pretty happy with so long as FA learns to behave on forums.

I’d really rather Kain didnt swap with SoR in T1. T2 is a real challenge for the numbers we have and in T1 WM wont be able to rock the map in their timezone.

I think every server could say the other is full of wipable pugs, because the reality is that every top guild on each server will regard the other server as easily wipable. It’s tempting to say ‘lol we wiped ur forces 8 times in one night’, but if you are on any kind of organised guild then that is what should be happening.

What speaks more to a server or guild’s class is the ability not to gloat on the forums afterwards. And remember FA, this is a T2 thread, if you want to say something bad about another server you need to sandwich it between 2 compliments and make them read between the lines.

THIS IS THE PASSIVE AGRESSIVE TIER!

I’m sure ZN will have a great time on FA, but why join a server that already has a stacked NA? A server like Kaineng (hint hint) would benefit waaaay more from one more NA guild. NA timezone is easily FA’s strongest and they proved it last night instantly queueing any map they pleased with so many players it crashed 0.o

Either way, FA will rock this matchup every NA prime time, they just have so many guilds online and enough numbers to pull off really crazy (and pretty darn clever) tactics, while also holding their own ground. To be quite honest I dont think I’ve played any NA force that felt quite so stacked in T2.

These fights are still awesome though, I’m kinda looking forward to SoS being replaced by a guild that could do better in this tier. It feels very 1v1 between FA and Kain at the moment.

Glad to see FA are bringing it. This matchup more than any seems to be all about clawing tooth and nail for the points. Although the competition doesn’t seem as strong as last week in terms of quality of opponents, the strategic rushes and crazy meat grinder setups are making this a really difficult matchup.

Wouldnt be surprised to see Kain knocked to second by FA if this keeps up.

The state of SoS is so weird right now.

Literally a good third of our WvW force is now gone. Vast majority of fighters are all disorganized militia who have little idea what they’re doing. A lot of people are disheartened, and we have several people spamming doomsday like crap in map chat about how this server is about to plunge into T6 anytime now.

Really hope we can pull ourselves together again. I feel like T2 could be extremely fun if we can rally our forces together after a rough few weeks and all the fairweather troopers jumping ship.

From what I saw today on EB, you have plenty of people, but nobody leading them. Got to wipe way more people than we should have been allowed to because the SoS zerg was running more like a snake along the map rather than a ball. You are holding your own fine though, you definitely have enough to man keeps etc.

I literally have no idea how this matchup will go. FA’s performance in T3 definately makes them look scary, and SoS being former T1! … well I’ve never played in T1, but I think you have to be pretty serious to hang up there with JQ. I just hope we have some great fights, and hopefully it will be a close and exciting matchup!!

Its sad that we are all losing each other to different tiers. I could have handled losing just one server this week, but both BG and TC at the same time… ;_;

I’m sure it will be the best for everyone. BG get to prove their server is T1 (we all knew it was T1 before the transfers but now it’s definate) and TC get to be top dogs on a tier for a week or two, something they thoroughly deserve. You should have good fun with DB, they were some of the nicest people we played on the way up and they managed to keep quite civil even under trying circumstances (aka WM capping everything). On the other hand, best of luck with maguuma.

One day in the distant future we will be in the same tier again, and the warm memories will all come flooding back.

Its exaggerated even more the week before a tier flip, so everyone will be good to go for the long haul on reset night.

No one is mad, I was just correcting a guy who said that no one is throwing. Kaineng posters seem to think they themselves are throwing, so why don’t you?

A significant portion of Mag did. Kaineng is being as open about it as we were in our t3 thread. There’s no need for all of a server to throw for it to work.

Well WM definately isn’t throwing, neither is RE, we are just completing more of the new content and not spending that much time in WvW. We even tried for SM today, although trying for SM with an outmanned buff is never a good idea xD

I want TC to stay because honestly they deserve to be T2. They just got a bit unlucky this tier being sandwiched between BG and Kain for the first two weeks but with BG gone I think they will be perfectly able to hold their own here.

We’ve already mentioned earlier in the week that clearly some Kains are taking a break for various reasons. Logistically I think it started off to let BG move up, not keep TC. It could end up helping to keep TC in T2 but I don’t believe it was intentional.

What’s the reasoning behind letting us move up? Just curious.

Not sure tbh, I think BG took its toll on our militia though and lots of BLs were starting to feel empty, so combined with the new content it is a good week to have a rest and prepare for next week. I know it’s kinda bad form, but a new matchup always feel more exciting and I think a lot of people are looking towards next week, as are a lot of you

Just going to weigh in on all the positive opinions on TC.

If you have a guild that is looking for a home where the fights are tough but the community is loving then TC should be your pick. They have the best community and sitting around T2 is the ideal location for the best of WvW without all the negatives.

Yeh a few days ago it wasn’t so clear cut and SoS weren’t doing that bad, now BG are definitely going up. I hope they put some hurt on JQ and hopefully we stabilise at the top of Tier 2 and start working our way up to take SoR’s spot. I definitely think we could take the 3rd spot in T1 pretty easily, but staying there with no EU presence would be hard… WHICH LEADS BACK TO OUR RECRUITMENT THREAD.

Successfully re-railed.

Letting BG move up a tier, also guild missions, and helping TC stay in T2. Its pretty much a win for everyone if we arent playing this week. We get a nice rest from putting in too many WvW hours, get to farm some new loot and do the new content, and hopefully we have a better matchup next week.

Don’t worry FA, we will bring it next week

Edit: That came across badly like we are giving up, just want to make it a bit clear that nothing official has been said and most of Kain still fighting, just a lot of the guilds are taking a small break. I think the main reason is to let BG get up. They have new additions almost the size of our server so facing them for one more week wouldn’t really do anything.

I hope someone recorded them! The last one especially was great, I thought it was gonna go a different way about 4 times, dunno how many times we are gonna fall for the ‘HB using pugs as bait’ trap. It works every time ^^

Sorry about that, but we only had 11 HBs, 1 RK + a few others following us on TS, so we had to even the fight somehow, as you were to strong to fight head on with our numbers.

The zone died after you left, as it has been most of the week. You guys bring a great fight, I only wish we could have clashed some more before the matchup ended.

I’m definately gonna miss HB, you forced us raise our game considerably and I honestly think we are 2 times better than we were 3 weeks ago. I’ve never played SoS since I’ve been on Kaineng only, but I hope they still have some guilds left that can hit as hard as you do.
I don’t think getting portal bombed by any other guild will feel quite the same though
